I'm okay with this. Do you want us to RP that when you start the thread? Yes please. I'll start the thread with two sessions. One for the caravan group, one for you and Edto.

It begins! This D&D game is now officially underway! I hope you guys are as hyped as I am! It literally took me days to make everything all cinematic and special, so please enjoy! I also added a bunch of stuff to the info thread, including rules for posting in the RP, so go check that out. If you haven’t already, I suggest bookmarking all three threads (info, OOC, and now the RP) so you can find them easily. I’ll also tag participating players whenever I post in the RP, so that way you’ll get a notification and know there’s a new post. So, time to get settled in for a long journey together. Have fun! EDIT: For the record, none of your characters actually know about Besilmer. Almost all traces of it's existence has been lost to history.

Faclan awesome post! For being the very first person to post in the campaign I'll award you with Inspiration. You may expend your Inspiration on any attack or ability roll, skill check, or saving throw to make that roll with Advantage (meaning you make the roll twice and use the higher result). And of course by "you" make the roll, based on our rules I mean "I" make your roll. So whenever you wish to use your Inspiration, be sure to specify so in your summary so I know when to apply the Advantage. Also wanted to point out that ordinarily you shouldn't make up NPCs' actions (such as having Doran speak in your post). Don't actually change your post because this time it was just a minor detail and doesn't affect anything, just keep it in mind going forward. I'm guessing I set myself up for that too since I even said "you're free to interact with NPCs", but by that I meant you could say "Hey Doran, how's it going?", and then wait for him (me) to respond. So apologies for any confusion with that wording.

There'll be plenty of other chances. You might get the next big "first" that nobody saw coming. So don't dwell on it.

Thanks SC ^.^, should I keep the inspiration noted in the summary of my posts until I use it or put it on my DnD Character sheet?
And alright about the NPC stuff I'll keep that in mind going forward.

should I keep the inspiration noted in the summary of my posts until I use it or put it on my DnD Character sheet? Mark it on your character sheet (there's a little check box in the upper left) to remind yourself that you have it, and then when you want to use it that's when you put it in your summary.

Since we are not in combat are those of us who have already posted free to post? I think it would be a good time for Gonff to spot Alder and hopefully apologies before tossed in the back cage. Speaking of BetaWülf - is Alder covered in a hood or other kind of concealing garment that would make a short glance not discern his species? Or just out and open fluffeh bug bear and big adorable and murder capable Owlbear?

Or just out and open fluffeh bug bear and big adorable and murder capable Owlbear? Alder I believe to be wearing a hood since he joined the caravan, probably with a handkerchief over the lower half of his face. However his long ears would be sticking out holes in the side of the hood, which look somewhere between primate ears and dog ears(think German Shepard for canid aspects of the ears). The Owlbear is out in the open 'cause it's a big ol' Owlbear.

Alright, BetaW. I'll pretend Ruutok doesn't know what Alder is, though it's probably a little obvious from being in such close confines with him for what I could be assuming is the last couple of days at minimum. From his time as a slave he is likely familiar with a number of the common races enough to know that Alder has something a bit off about him, but not in a taboo sense. Ruutok was of a much similar upbringing of course. I'm interested to see what forms between them.

Just wanted to let everyone know that your starting posts are all awesome and you guys are doing great! Only person yet to post is Huka and then everyone will be in on the party. (EDIT: lol, I stand corrected mere minutes later. Nice one Huka! I couldn't help but chuckle to myself envisioning your Dwarf appear out of nowhere, ninja-ing himself a biscuit.) I noticed I have yet to specify any minimum/maximum post size, so I wanted to put that out there as well. Basically there is no maximum post size so feel free to write as much as you wish. (After all one of the great benefits to doing play-by-post games is the ability to have all this extra thought and description, more so than out loud in person). That being said, I consider it more valuable to keep things moving over taking too long to draft elaborate posts every single time. So in general, I'm perfectly okay if you shoot for posting just a paragraph or two for most posts. Again how much you write is up to you, and sometimes longer posts are nice, but I don't want anyone to burn themselves out by forcing out long posts all the time.

That Draconic one is really cool. I'll add it to the links in the info thread. Nice find! The Elven one looks pretty but doesn't copy/paste so it's kinda useless unless someone wants to bother to screenshot and upload it. Which for DM purposes I might, if I ever need to show an elven inscription the players find or something. EDIT: The Player's Handbook also contains sample alphabets for Dwarven, Elven, and Draconic. I'll see if I can find an image of those somewhere and post them. I think I'm totally gonna make use of the Draconic one and add an element of translation into future puzzles. Also since Draconic is the language of magic, I'll be having arcane spellcaster NPCs speak draconic incantations in the RP for some added flavor.

Hi Abraham G518 . I noticed that was your first post on this site. This thread isn't the proper place for new members to introduce themselves, instead you should make a new thread in the Introduction board and say hello to everyone. yappashalorpg.com/board/47/introductions-untroductions - click "CREATE THREAD" on the right. You'll meet tons of people who can help with anything you need.

Well now it seems Gonff is position near a bunch more peeps. So many new friends! Serious question though, SuperCommando . Right now who can the bandits see inside the wagons right now? Can the bandits behind our caravan see into the back of either of our wagons? Edit: Crap, I never took the time to prepare any of my spells except my Druidic Circle spells (They're always prepared.).

Serious question though, SuperCommando . Right now who can the bandits see inside the wagons right now? Can the bandits behind our caravan see into the back of either of our wagons? Well according to what you guys posted so far, the front and back of the Wagon #1 is open (according to your own post actually, Seraph) and the front of the Wagon #2 is open (Crucible's first post). Because the back of the Wagon #2 is still covered, the bandits behind Wagon #2 (from the east with a green cone) currently cannot see in from the back. (But those of you in Wagon #2 can't see them either! So you wouldn't actually know they're there.) Also they'd be farther away than depicted here, so I'll say those bandits also cannot see into Wagon #1 either. If I thought that through a little more, I would have realized their cone of sight should only extend as far to the side as the owlbear. Because the front of Wagon #2 is open, Shirtless Guy and the bandits in his wagon (red cone) can see Deran, Morgana, Theron, and Lorban. Poncho Guy has a direct line of sight into Wagon #1 and can see Doran clearly, but because the wagon is up higher than he is and the occupants inside are sitting, I will reason that he cannot see Ruutok or Alder and doesn't know they're there. Because he was watching on approach, Shirtless Guy saw Alder and Ruutok inside Wagon #1 and knows they're in there, but cannot actually see them right now. Since the flap at the front of thier wagon was closed until just now, the Bandits in Shirtless Guy's wagon cannot see Alder or Ruutok and don't know they're there. If an enemy doesn't know about you, you have Advantage against that enemy while hidden. Keep in mind that the canvas covers of all wagons only offers concealment, not cover. It obscures you from sight, but a ranged attack will still slice through the canvas unimpeded. Who can see you right this second?Morgana - Shirtless Guy and red cone bandits Theron - Shirtless Guy and red cone bandits Lorban - Shirtless Guy and red cone bandits Gonff - Shirtless Guy Ruutok - Nobody Alder - Nobody

Instead edtosivaree you get the poor (literally and figuratively) little Wood Elf who knows nothing about fighting (besides running away and how not to die).

Going to have already posted by the time you see this SC, which is why I'm not going to do a huge action this post but I had a question about 5th edition;
Do Bards not have Fascinate/Captivate in 5th Edition? The Ability to with a Perform skill check magically affect your bard level amount of people if they fail their will saves to just sit/stand quietly and listen to the bards performance?
If they don't thats fine since I can buff and debuff party and enemy rolls I'm just curious as I remember that being a big thing for Bards in 3/3.5. I always have Calm Emotions if stuff gets dangerous.
EDIT: Just a heads up for our fellow players. Should Calm Emotion succeed EVERYONE whiten 35 feet of Gonff himself will be calmed down, allies and enemies, and be unable to take a hostile action. But it can be resisted, and if someone who resisted it tries to attack a calmed person the spell will stop working on them (But I don't think many of the group would know that). As long as you can see or hear the Mousefolk. Hopefully it won't come to that.

Awesome plan Fac! I double checked my Player's Handbook and I do not think Captivate is a thing in 5e. Zenith, the first time I read your post I assumed the man in chainmail you were describing was Lorban, but when I re-read it recently I realized you describe "the dwarf" separately. So is the man in chainmail the sleeping NPC I mentioned in the first post of Chapter one? Or was that Theron? It's probably Theron, but just wanted to be sure.

@sc: The man I refer to is Fade's champion *nods* Currently I've only mentioned the sleeping npc in my first post. Also in terms of putting on armor etc. How many post rounds would it take to get the chainmail on or would the crossbowmen notice her slip back into the wagon to begin with?
*Is currently unarmed and armed so I didn't want to take action just yet against our friends with the crossbows due to that and the fact that other innocent bystanders could become harmed in the conflict.*
