Cool, glad you're interested Darknal. The more the merrier. By this point we're getting quite a few main characters, but I'm not going to turn anyone away and say we have too many players. That should be where the whole episodic session thing comes in. Rather than one giant game-breaking party, I can imagine you guys splitting off to handle different tasks, meeting back up in town to debrief, then possibly switching up party members and going out again. And maybe even some all-hands-on-deck moments during big events. So I think we'll make it work. Anyway, what do you have cooking up in that brain oven of yours? Come up with any ideas you can share yet? I'd like to have a basic idea of your character concept before you get too far into it, in case it may not work for some reason. (Also I've got a big info dump of world and character creation stuff near the top of the previous page if you haven't seen it already). Plus any of us can help out if you have questions. Between everyone we have on board for this so far, I'd say we've got this as far as D&D knowledge goes.

Nice profile picture. And, www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=662777Credit to Seraph for the help he's given! I currently am making a Blackscale Dragonborn. He's a Sorcerer, with his Origin being Draconic. (I think it just fits in well.) He has a Criminal background, and is in fact an Exile of his clan, Nevexulius. Speaking of which, his name is Nevexulius Javik. (Nevexulius being in front of the personal name to honor the clan. Then again, being an Exile, he might just wish to be called "Javik" in character, and keep his clan name hidden for the time being.)

Thank you. Ah. And that's why I wanted to know the concept before you put too much work into it. I hate to say it, but I'd like you to reconsider your race. We already have two Dragonborn characters (Edto's which is done, and Seraph's which is WIP, and not to mention Edto's is already black), and I've already told Huka not to be a Dragonborn when he PM'd me concepts since we already have multiple. Is there a way you can keep the essence of your character intact, just not as a humanoid dragon-person? Or perhaps you have another concept you'd like to use instead? Either way, Dragonborn are supposed to be rare so I'd rather not have half the party be one.

Double post, also planning on making a Secondary character. A Fighter-Champion who's suppose to be a Tank. Don't have a sheet for him yet, but will make one when I get home from the medical place. Have to get a wellness check >.>

Scratch that last post, didn't realize you beat me to it.
Anyway, Seraph said earlier he could change his race, he didn't mind it. But that makes me feel bad. So I could totally just go for a Fighter-Champion (Human) instead of the Dragonborn Sorcerer.

I have actually been working with Fade and I've actually decided that my Druid is going to be a Half-Orc instead. Which we have talked and I'm okay with withdrawing that in favor of something else. As for a secondary I'm still working on that.

Tell you what then, think about it for a while and get back to me later. Don't feel like you need to make a final decision right this second. Work out with Seraph who's the Dragonborn and who isn't, and that sort of thing. No rush, just make sure whatever main character you each choose is something you're really excited about playing.
Sound good?
EDIT: You know I do admit, a human champion and half-orc druid would actually round out the party quite nicely. So I'm all in favor of that honestly.

Main Character: Lorban AmethysteyeRace: Shield Dwarf Class: Cleric of Knowledge Alignment: Lawful Good Appearance:A 'lean' Dwarf with somewhat protruding aquamarine eyes that are usually heavy-lidded, his very long burnt blonde hair straight and arranged in double braids like his long mustache while single-braiding his beard. Hook-nosed and bearing a gap between his front teeth. His time in the forges has made his skin brown in exposure. His armor is a dwarven pounded scalemail protecting his vitals, marked with his personal crest upon his cuirass while his god's hovers over on the 'collar'. Wearing underneath is a manageable robe of mithril-silver in contrast to his golden mail. To compromise for his 'wanting' strength, he wields a bearded battleaxe that functions as a walking cane. Personality:A Shield Dwarf who holds high-regard to craftsmanship and their artisan. A near personification of what people would imagine a dwarven paladin - a respecter of all good in community, law, and honor. Humble and scoldful for the unnecessary. Despite finding himself very important in the group, he doesn't think terrible of many people nor think of others' opinion about him. Despite still being remotely anti-social to the point of avoiding large crowds or joining in merrymaking, he present himself as cheerful and somehow manages to make deep bonds with others. Loving his cranberry wine, he needs it and particular alcohol to get through his jewelry works. Needless to say, the cleric isn't hard to please or impress outside his profession. Background:One of the few survivors to a rivalry dispute between their clan’s draconic originator and his long-time foe. The mountain shook and fell over their heads, Lorban received a vision from his patron deity for a possible escape route that saved the clan from total destruction. However, in the journey through the Underdark, his wife was murdered by the rival dragon’s worshippers and her tiara taken. When making it to the surface world, Lorban joined the clergy of Dumathoin in grave thanks and to gain a chance to avenge his wife despite his humble starting as a clan jeweler. Theme Song: Not sure quite yet, still looking...Secondary CharacterThe DoctorRace: Tiefling (Disguising as human) Class: Warlock in Pact of an Old One Alignment: Chaotic Neutral AppearanceA tall figure draped in multiple layers of clothes and shape kept noticeably humanoid in leather garbing fit enough for armor. Ragged and heavy-looking, the Doctor hides his face under a bone mask shaped as a raven with glassed visors and etched in mad scratchings barely called runes. His belt lined with medical supplies and a seemingly old sickle wrapped in recently-changed bandages. Sometimes, one might notice the layers moving or a leech is wiggling near. Personality:Outwardly simple and...unusual, as in very attune to his morbid work unusual, but remotely harmless to most. The enigmatic Doctor speaks in an irregular speech pattern that includes hums and often seem to talk to himself along with another. His skills are used in a much more terrifying matter on enemies that catch his ire. Other than that, he enjoys a good cup of tea, literature and taking care of his leeches. Background:The creature born from unwanting parents and an infernal giver, a boy to grow up alone and only to serve with thievery and at the worst, murder. The only light in the slow, painful years as a hated creature in the slum of his home-city was the selfless generosity of a cleric performing charity. To be given homely education and the chance of helping the fellow unfortunate, enough to act as a caring doctor to the sick and dying. Alas, no amount of compassion could save him from irrational fear and zealous hatred when his face was exposed by playful children. A mob came after seeing the horror-maddened children and burned his clinic with little other provocation. They assumed the demon died when he never stepped out, they could have only hope. Elsewhere, people whispered about a kindly if odd bloodletting Doctor caring for the needed or tending to dark problems, only to disappear and move on the next needing victim. Theme Song: Same here...

A Look at the Fabric Between Worlds
Woven into the the tapestry of the multiverse are a myriad of dimensions and vast infinite spaces. It is a wonder that within the grand cosmic scene that while many of the different plains coalesce into positions that at times bisect and overlap one another to form diverse and at times chaotic spaces of diverse natures. But despite this every dimension stretching on for such unfathomable scales and depths there exist the boundaries that separate the plains from one another. Yet even despite these boundaries there in lies an innumerable amount of nooks, crannies, and pocket dimensions that exist in between the very folds of the veil between worlds. Hidden or long forgotten passage ways that lead to other plains or send you careening into the void, the cold and empty spaces of nothingness where nothing exists save for what is thrown into its endless depths. But what of the boundaries themselves that act as a net that prevent easy access to transit between these different realms of reality? The Veil is the barrier that acts as the framework of which separates the realms from one another. It prevents those who lack the senses to see the things that are unseen, things and places of which the basic senses cannot perceive. Its very makeup is something unique to the order of the multiverse able to contain even the vast chaotic maelstroms of different cosmos or fall in others areas where the Veil is at its weakest and allowing all sorts of things to bleed over into other plains. It is obvious that if one were to travel to another realm one would inevitably have to pass through these boundaries and the space in which they occupy. What if it were possible to see through it, to have a peek within the space it fills that allows it to so heavily obscure what lay beyond it, to inside the spaces that separate not only worlds but keeps the very fabric of creation falling into nothingness? Well I'll tell you. It is theorized by many a scholar whom study the multiverse and the transit between plains see the Veil as not merely an obstacle, but even being a means of traveling by simply tapping into the space it occupies. You see, the Veil is merely barrier, but is also something like a network of lay lines distributing energy all throughout the realms. Like a vast circulatory system of veins that channel the mysterious planar energies which are the life blood being pumped from the heart of the cosmic biology. Those whom have dared probed these planar lay-lines and try and explore to find the source say that it comes from a place very near to our own dimension on the material. A place that exists within the empty spaces yet isn't simply an empty pit like the Void, but is infarct another dimension between dimensions. The few estranged scholars have dubbed this occupying space as the Convexity. The heart of the Veil. (More to come.)

What's that all about, Seraph? Also, I think by "plains" you mean "planes". Huka , looks awesome! I think you should be all set. Go ahead and post them in the characters/info thread. Haer' Sivar and Zenith , what's your status? You're the only ones I don't have a good grasp of your current progress.

Alrighty, so I am almost completely done with my character though a while back I changed up my idea to make a human fighter. Thus it's a bit different from my starting idea but hopefully it looks good. At this point I am working on the personality and backstory before wrapping the character up as those will be important for the more social aspects of the campaign. Nonetheless I am very excited to be a part of this and can't wait to get going with all of ya'll! Here's the sheet so far just to log my progress. Trying to build a nice meat shield for the party www.myth-weavers.com/sheet.html#id=662416 (Just to Note: All ability boosts such as +1 strength etc. have been already added into my score.)

That is for some background lore on a new dimension that I'm working on, complete with its own form of inhabitants and special properties. Might even throw in deities in there too. It's an old idea that I once saw in a favorite game of mine, but it was never really developed or revisited after that. So I thought maybe develop something plausible for the game. The idea came to me after I was reading the whole section on the Planes. Now I'm suddenly thinking of Planeswalkers...oh my.

Keeping you guys posted with a few updates: I changed this from an interest check to the official OOC thread. We'll continue using it the way we already have - to talk about the game out of character, ask questions or help others, or to make announcements. Now that people are getting profiles done I have a solid idea of what kind of characters I'll be working with, so I'll try to work in as much individual attention as I can while you guys progress through the main adventure. My intention is to kick off the campaign around the middle of next week. My busiest work days are Sundays and Wednesdays, so I'll try to finish the opening post between then. And by "opening post" I mean it's going to be more then just "Hey guys, you start in town. What do you do?" because that's boring for one thing, and also because I'm an overachiever. You'll see what I'm talking about. It's gonna be awesome. I will let you guys in on something without giving too much away. I don't like the "classic" start-in-a-tavern approach, so I want to run a scene outside of town first. You'll be part of a wagon caravan on its way to Red Lark, so I'll give you guys two options. - You'll all be strangers tagging along with the caravan by default. Mounted characters may ride alongside, and those without mounts will be hitching a ride in one of the wagons. - If you really don't want to be part of the caravan (you want your character to start somewhere specific) let me know and we'll work something out. I do highly suggest being in the caravan though. Just saying.

Ooh wagon Caravan, Gonff would have done great in a tavern doing his Bard things but I'm sure he can perch on one of the Wagons and play some music or be in the middle of telling a story when we start to make the trip more fun.
HOPEFULLY he doesn't MESS UP and tell a TERRIBLE story about those SAVAGE BUGBEARS that were wiped out. HOPEFULLY not when one of those said BUGBEARS are riding along on their Owlbear.

Nivara and Meri ((If lax wants)) can be riding along side on Brimstone. Nivara would probably keep Brrimstone well away from the main group, but she would be there.

You certainly may if you like, Lax. Although I have a compromise for you to consider too.
If anyone decides not to be part of the caravan in the opening scene, I'd advise them not to actually be in town right at the very beginning. (Also note: Town. Not city). The reason for this is because if some players are in Red Lark and others are not, the ones who are will get a head start on stuff going on there. It would be easier (and by that I pretty much mean easier for me, lol) if all the players just so happen to meet up in Red Lark around the same time.
But if you really really want to start in Red Lark, I won't tell you "no, your character who lives there can't be there". I know I'll end up having to run separate session at some point anyway, so I guess it won't be such a huge deal if the party starts split up.
That said, the compromise I'd like to suggest is that you and Edto can start up right after Nivara agrees to help Meri find her mouse (or even RP that actual meeting), and then do a little social RP on the way into town. That way you two are occupied doing something while the caravan session is doing their stuff.

So I have a couple of things I have questions for while we are on the topic of starting in Red Lark. Now for my primary character, my Druid Ruuk, will be on with that caravan. That is an easy one so no worries. But as for my secondary character, my Wizard/Monk I was actually planning to be either a resident of Red Lark or lives in a small residence in the local vicinity, maybe on the outskirts of town. I was planning on part of his background that as a resident he is established in a small home, has a local job as a scribe or librarian if there were appropriate facilities, and had a daughter whom he lived with. The only real other issue I've thought of is having a friend or neighbor or just someone nice to the family that perhaps had offered Kardesh a job or would at times be willing to look after his daughter while he had to do something important or go away on business for example.
Another thing was more of a class related question as part of the creation process. So I am definitely going with wizard as the main class and I just wanted to know what options we had for our archetypes we can pick from and from what sources. Right now I am looking at a Wizard 2nd level and Monk 1st level to start. I found a neat Arcane Tradition archetype from the 5e Sword Coast Handbook that adds a new archetype called the Blade Singer instead of taking a specialization in a school of magic. I may not choose this, but if I decided I wanted to, can I use material from that book as it is technically an official D&D 5e supplement by Wizards of the Coast? The only other restriction from taking this is that for lore reasons from the forgotten realms is Blade Singers can only be Elves. There is optional rule for the DM to lift that so I was curious on you stance on that.

I was planning on part of his background that as a resident he is established in a small home, has a local job as a scribe or librarian if there were appropriate facilities, and had a daughter whom he lived with. That can be arranged. I don't think I know who Kardesh is though, so if you've posted a sheet somewhere it must me slipping my mind or something. Just remember that secondary characters aren't meant to be a separate main character; they are secondary because they don't get used as much, mostly for side story stuff if such an opportunity opens up. But anyway, we can totally work out him being a local. Why don't you PM me what you've got so far and we'll take it from there. Not a problem. When working with Lax to establish Meri's backstory, we came up with all kinds of relations she had with other Red Larkers. So we'll just do the same for Kardesh. Well considering we've got a Mousefolk character and bastard swords and a Kirin reskin and all kinds of other stuff not strictly out of the Player's Handbook, it's safe to say I'm pretty open to external sources. Basically just explain to me any new/different stuff so I know how it works, and usually my reply is "Sure, go for it." Pfft. Consider it lifted. Since this isn't the Forgotten Realms, we can just chuck that rule right out the window. ... I think. I don't actually know what Blade Singers are, since I don't own the book. I can look it up though. Or you can link some info if you have it already. Once I'm in the loop I can make a final decision, but my first reaction is it shouldn't be a problem.
