Of course, it really depends. The Ultra could easily do it in a short, Narrow corridor where the Jiralhanae are forced to be single file, but if it got stuck a mile away with no cover, it would lose. Those are extremes, but the point is that a single sangheili is better millitarily trained then a Jiralhanae. It's like grunts and jackals. Jackals are no bigger or stronger, but thweir better trained, and better equipped.

Can someone explain the proscess of coming out of slipspace for the UNSC? Can we just pop out and bam, we're ready, or is there some "quick, turn everything back on!" phase?

UNSC War ships are able to drop out of slip-space and fire small weapon systems like point-defense weaponry. They can also operate simple ship functions, but just like the Covenant, it takes a bit of time to get power back to the big guns. The Shaw-Fuie Drive takes a lot of power to charge and use, just like the Covenant's drive.
Smaller ships though, like Frigates and light-Destroyers, are able to drop out of slip-space and fire their cannons immediately. Because their ships are smaller and the Shaw-drives require much less energy to rip space open for them, less power needs to be taken from the rest of the ship. Of course, that doesn't mean a MAC shot is going to be at full power...

With the CBox, this thread isn't really needed. However, it's good to get a solid answer with more detail rather then getting rushed on a chat..

how is babby formed?
Kidding, but it would be cool if we made some sort of information thread or something that might tell people how to RP Hunter pairs and Drone swarms? Just might be a useful thing I could try to help with.

A "babby"? Well, "Babb" is a town in Montana, on an Native American Reservation, I'd assume it was formed after the Blackfeet tribe was forced onto said reservation. Does that answer your question?

How similar is Covenant life to ours? Such as, do they go shopping, watch tv, play sports, go to school, play videogames, hang out with friends etc.

I think we need to get those big guys some cake. And maybe those little Drones wouldn't be hating on the Engineers so much if they ever had a taste of some delicious Icecream frosting and fudge.

Sangheili pilots would probably wear the flight harness, although no, you would not be green.

So the flight harness would be colored in coordination with the standard covenant ranking system?
I.E. minor=blue, major =red, etc.

I do believe pilots share the same rank as standard Covenant troops, just with a different service branch so to speak.
By common sense I'd say yes, but at the same time the Covenant work in different ways. I wouldn't be surprised if they have different colors for each-rank.

I would presume the average Sangheili pilot will be blue, with red being for squadron leaders and white for the Master of Fighters or whatever you would like to call him.

To find out for sure, one could always fire up any Halo game and shoot down some Banshees, see what color Elite falls out.

Mostg pilots are minors, flight leaders are majors, and choir leaders are ultras. Same with seraphs.

That depends on what class of ship has been converted into a medical vessel. Is it a frigate? Corvette?

Why is the enlistment age seventeen instead of sixteen?
If I recall correctly from my previous knowledge of Halo canon, and I know it was stated somewhere though I can't freaking remember for the life of me where, the enlistment age of the UNSC at this point in the war was sixteen years old.
So any old sixteen year old who wanted to serve could legally sign his contract and be shipped off to boot camp. However, unless the kid graduated early, anyone who joined the military at sixteen almost assuredly dropped out of school ti do so. Hell, the enlistment age might have been sixteen all along. I don't remember.

It's seventeen due to the UNSC heavily being based off of the United States' military. I've never seen it stated as sixteen anywhere, but if you can find a source, I'm sure it'd be changed.

I don't remember. I think I remember something being mentioned in Halo: The Fall of Reach's first edition's launch, but since then I can't find any mention of it in the newest edition I've gotten off the shelves at a book store. I'll look into it and edit the UNSC Ranks thread. Halo is a futuristic universe set 500 years to the modern day. It is extremely likely that rules and regulations have changed since the '21st century' - which is practically ancient history to the UNSC now.

From what I recall the UNSC had dropped the enlistment age from eighteen to sixteen due to the growing threat of an all-out civil war; though the sixteen year old would need parental permission before his contract could be signed.
Then the Human-Covenant War began and the UNSC stopped giving a shit. If a sixteen wanted to enlist, by all means, in their eyes. After the war ended, though, the enlistment age returned to eighteen years old (as evidenced by Halo: Glasslands).

I forgot when it is in the timeline, twelve years before reach maybe? Current year is: 2547 As for the age - I'll talk to Duffle about it. If you can find a source, I can edit it immediately.

That's the problem. I can't find the source anymore. I know I read it over a hundred times on Halo Nation/Halopedia a couple years ago and so do four other people from my other RPG and yet, mysteriously, it has vanished. Just like Johnson's age at his death.
This infuriates me beyond words because it either means that it was retconned out of Halo or just unexplainably taken down. Because I was forced to read it when a member of Helljumpers (who now runs it) told me the enlistment age was sixteen and not eighteen like I had stated, I had to look it up and he was the one who supplied me with the link.
I swear, Halo is beginning to aggravate me beyond comprehension. I spent the better part of last night looking for the source information and made phone calls to people to see if they had the info.
At this point I should go do the Time Warp (Halo: First Strike reference).
