Special Operations Heretic Tavise UNSC Pelican, en route to Covenant base Well they were almost there now. The newly UNSC allied Sangheili was sitting down in a human 'Pelican.' For almost the entirety of the ride there had just been silence between the two different soldiers. After observing the scenery for a while, the Elite warrior decided to look over to the human. He was much smaller and his anatomy was slightly different, though Tavise felt they were related in others. Or there was the fact that the Sangheili was happy to finally be able to interact with someone, forcibly too! While others of his kind would be disgraced to work with a human this Heretic felt it would be an opportunity to learn and share things. He was very interested in the race as to how they had survived so long despite their puniness. After a minute or two he looked away and back outside. This planet seemed to be plains and thin forest in the area they were in. Flat grass before sudden groups of trees. It was nice in his opinion. He shook his head a little and remembered they were on a mission. The warrior checked his equipment to make sure it was there. Energy sword, plasma repeater, needler and four plasma grenades, they were all there. Once sure of this Tavise settled down and tried to mentally prepare himself for battle as the Pelican continued it's flight.

Pelican, Charlie Two Foxtrot Approaching LZ on planet Carson Captain Fawley
( OOC: This thread is for Kenny and Saber, however I AM the Pilot. I won't post unless talked to or engaged. )
Fawley struggled at the controls for a second as the turbulence rattled the pelican during the bank turn on a mountain. The flight path had them coming in fast and low. Trees almost touched the lower barrel of Fawley's chain gun. "Take the controls." The man said to his co-pilot. He opened the canopy door and noticed the elite.
"Alright. Well, we've been ordered to investigate the area about a rumored Covenant Base. This is not a combat operation, it's a reconissance mission. If you do manage to find a base, the brass want location, size, what type of troops, defenses and an estimated chance of success. If you find a base, and relay that information to the brass, the UNSC Ships in orbit launch a attack force depending on the size." The Pilot said, as he looked down.
"You are to engage after reporting. Tavise, your file says your skilled at close quarter assassinations. They want you to use that. Furrow, your record shows your an gifted sniper. Sniper the bastards away from long distance well covering Tavise. This mission is to see how the Heretic and UNSC Forces get along in combat." The Pilot asked. "Not to hard, I've got limited intelligence. All I know, is I've got a full load of ammo, rocket and fuel. So we can stand-by and provide air support if you guys need it." The Pilot added, handing two data-pads to the Elite and Sniper.
"Sir, better take a look at this!" The Co-Pilot said. He turned around and climbed back into his seat. The area in-front was a straight cliff, they had to climb over it. The Pilot pushed the throttle forward, and the joystick back. They flew over the cliff. In a matter of seconds, the Fawley cut the throttle and angled back down. A slight detour. They were closer then anticipated.
He climbed out of his seat, regretting taking a rookie co-pilot with him. He returned to the troop bay. "Any questions? I'll answer them if I know them." The man said, as he stood.

Corporal Jake Furrow ODST 105TH Sniper Tarsus System, Planet Carson |
Furrow sat still and silent as he normally did, even during pod drops, as the Pelican soared towards their insertion point. He hadn’t been to active lately besides the firing range, so this mission would put all that practice to the test once again. Along with two full days of rest in him, the ODST felt like he was ready for anything. The ride to the system was sort of rough, but it was normal. Though, Furrow still wasn’t use to the long cryo-sleeps. As for the mission, he wasn’t told much, but he did know he was going in with only one other soldier. Taking a look up at the Elite across from him, he still had to restrain from shooting the alien freak. He was told that the alien was a separatist, or a ‘Heretic’ (as that’s what they call themselves). Separatist, Heretic, Ally, it’s all the same. He’s an alien, and Furrow was told to shoot any and every alien that he came across. Now he was being told not to? And that he was going to be working with him? What kind of crap was that? Furrow sighed and looked back down at his baby; the SRS99C-S2 AMB. It was his first rifle, and Furrow has used it ever since he was given it. Along the side of it, hash marks spanned the entirety of it’s length. He had actually started a second row on his last mission. Ever since the beginning of the war, Furrow has been picking off Elites and other aliens, but only the Elites have been tagged. One day… One day, he will hopefully never have to add to the count anymore… Snapping him from his thoughts, orders from the Pilot finally came through the air. Furrow turned his head over to see him and listened closely. "Alright. Well, we've been ordered to investigate the area about a rumored Covenant Base. This is not a combat operation, it's a reconnaissance mission. If you do manage to find a base, the brass want location, size, what type of troops, defenses and an estimated chance of success. If you find a base, and relay that information to the brass, the UNSC Ships in orbit launch a attack force depending on the size."Furrow ran the details through his head and processed all the information quickly. It was a recon mission to figure out the strength of the Covenant that had suddenly appeared. Routine, or well it should be. Though, majority of these operations go south at some point. Furrow could only hope that this one didn’t. "Any questions? I'll answer them if I know them."The pilots final words made Furrow shake his head. He knew what he had to do, and it seemed like the Heretic did. Furrow looked over at the Elite again and stared through his solid black visor. This was his team member for now, and who knows how much longer after. It’s been a while since Furrow had a partner…

Pelican, Charlie Two Foxtrot Approaching LZ on planet Carson Captain Fawley
The Pilot cracked a faint grin behind his flight mask. "Okay, well then. Hold on." The man said as he climbed back into the Pelican's canopy. The landing zone was approaching rapidly. He took a seat in the pilots chair and told his pilot to transfer the controls to the main system. The Co-Pilot did, and stopped shaking. The Captain would write a report on it later, but he wasn't a jerk. His first flight was... Okay. He was nervous, obviously.
The Captain turned the pelican in a thirty degree angle and watched the scenery change as the landscape molded into more forest, thinker and deeper too. But that was good for recon missions, bad for landing a pelican. The slightest error, and half the damn forest would burn up from the heat the engine pylons were generating.
The Sensors didn't have much, just a few birds flying. The pilot kept the pelican silent the best he could. He lost time, but he knew the sound waves of the engines would echo in this type of environment. So now the throttle was aimed at barely keeping them off the ground, but going fast enough to reach the LZ in time.
The Pilot switched the pylons to hover, and the pelican stopped almost completely. Small maneuvering thrusters fired and stopped the pelican instantly, with almost no affecting G Force present. The pilot opened the throttle as he switched the pylon mode to hybrid. It allowed the pelican to move forward, well slowly enough to re-adjust.
Then, he switched it back to Hovering and lowered the troop bay, and the Pelican. As it descended it fell into an open patch where multiple trees surrounded it. "Okay boys, hit it!" The Pilot said over the intercom.

Heretic Special Operations Tavise Landing Zone "Affirmitive." The Sangheili responded to the pilot. Well now the real fun began. Though before he started running he looked at the human and saw how he didn't exactly seem excited. "Look, I understand you don't exactly want to work with ex-Covenant, the same species you have killed but we have to work together on this. If you don't want to talk that's your choice, but our teamwork is essential to this mission, and future opinions on relations with our forces." He ranted before turning away and started jogging at a human base towards the thought location for the base. He hoped the human would come too and help. He decided to slow and wait for the man to catch up with him. "Let's take it slow, we don't know what's out there or even exactly where the base is." He spoke, taking out his energy sword but not activating it. He decided to take off his helmet to see a little better, and show the human he was vulnerable. Maybe the human species would understand an act like that, maybe it would try to betray him and use the special operator's exposed head as an advantage. Either way he was curious to the humans reaction as he walked closer to the base.

Corporal Jake Furrow ODST 105TH Sniper Tarsus System, Planet Carson |
With a soft tap, Furrow clicked the armor-piercing rounds into the belly of the beast, and cycled the first bullet into the chamber. Moving quickly and quietly, Furrow slipped out of the back of the bird and into the grass. Almost instinctively, he dropped to a knee, then down onto his face, hiding himself in the grass a little. Switching to night vision on his visor, he checked all around himself before getting to a knee again. “Feet dry.” Furrow muttered over the COM to the pilot and his partner. “No tangos, moving to rally point Alpha-One.” Furrow looked to the map he was provided of the area and illuminated the position with a NAV-Marker, syncing the motion with the Elite so he would know also where to go. Furrow gave the alien a moment to get himself prepped, and enough time for the pelican to get clear before he began to move. Furrow slung his rifle over his shoulders and let it hang by the strap. As he moved into the forest, the sniper pulled free a single silenced-M6D pistol. His sniper, even though it was silenced, wouldn’t be too effective in such close-quarters. Plus, he didn’t bring as much ammo for the big gun either, so he would need to save what he had. Then, the Elite started to talk... "Look, I understand you don't exactly want to work with ex-Covenant, the same species you have killed but we have to work together on this. If you don't want to talk that's your choice, but our teamwork is essential to this mission, and future opinions on relations with our forces. Let's take it slow, we don't know what's out there or even exactly where the base is."“I have your back, and I hope you have mine. From overhead scanners, the base is towards the South-Southeast.” Furrow’s words came out slightly slurred. His silence, or close to it, during missions made it slightly difficult for him to talk a lot. “Keep your helmet on... Sniper territory...” Furrow muttered after the Elite took his helmet off. Furrow almost laughed. Furrow spun slowly to his left, then looked over his shoulder back to the LZ to check for anything behind or around them before moving forward next to the Elite.

Heretic Special Operations Tavise Near Covenant Base The warrior nodded and put his helmet back on as he watched the soldier moved forward. Not the most social man but he looked like he would get the job done and work well. "Activating cloak, watch where you fire." Tavise spoke to the human as he turned invisible. He moved forward trying to make as little sound as possible. It didn't seem like the area was guarded at all so far, maybe the Covenant had no idea they were coming. The Sangheili started speeding up to his normal running though made sure to stay relatively close to the human. Still nothing on his censors or sight. There were no markings or signs at all the Covenant were here. He looked over at the soldier who seemed fine so far and continued. He started turning into a crouch as he had a feeling he was getting close to the Covenant base. "Do you have any family warrior, er... Furrow?" The Heretic asked trying to pass time and stop the boredom.

Pelican, Charlie Two Foxtrot Approaching LZ on planet Carson Captain Fawley The Captain waited until his troop bay was emptied. Only two guys were in it, so once they both hit the ground, the pilot eased the throttle up, not to much being careful not to burn the guys that could be under the pelicans pylons. "Feet dry." The com channel sputtered. "Solid copy." The Captain said, as he angled the noise of the dropship upwards and engaged the thrust mode. The Pelican shot forward, and the Captain angled the noise back down and put the throttle into full burn after clearing the LZ and flying forward for a minute. The area was still surrounded by trees, but the sound waive wouldn't alert anyone. The flight patch was connecting to commercial routes now, so if the Covenant did expect anything, they would have dropped it as a commercial flight from the Military Base into the city. A supply run. Nothing more. As the pelican neared the Military Bases airport, the pilot activated his COMM channel that was still linked with the Recon Unit. "Foxtrot Seven-Two-Seven standing by for extraction. Fawley out." The Pilot said, as he snapped his channel to base tower. "Kilo Base, Foxtrot Seven-Two-Seven requesting pad nine." The Pilot said. "Pad nine is free." The Tower responded. "We are five minutes out, permission to approach." The Pilot replied. "Flight path confirmed, approach granted. Good flying, Seven-Two-Seven." the Tower responded as the channel fuzzed a tad, then cut lose. The Pilot angled the noise higher, and gained altitude fast. His approach vector was unorthodox, sure, but the Pelican's noise would be angled towards the Recon Unit if they needed them. The five minutes of flying were quick, as the pilot found himself cutting the throttle and changing pylon vectoring into hovering. He dropped the throttle and the pelican glided down towards the runway. He carefully tapped the throttle up, and angled his pelican into a two-seventy degree spin. The view changed so rapidly that the Co-Pilot muttered he was dizzy. The Captain didn't bother to say anything. He extended the landing gear and touched down softly. He turned the engines and systems off and lowered the troop bay hatch. Slowly, the big hunk of Titanium A lowered soundlessly thanks to the recent update to the hydraulic systems. The Captain picked up his datapad on the side and sent a message to Furrow. // TO: CORPORAL FURROW // FROM: FOXTROT SEVEN-TWO-SEVEN Furrow, we've got a full load of ammo and fuel. If you need us, just call. We are standing by to extract you. Good hunting. //

Corporal Jake Furrow ODST 105TH Sniper Tarsus System, Planet Carson |
As the Elite went into cloak, Furrow felt a little more at ease. The shimmering figure moved ahead until he lost track of it, but Furrow continued onwards toward his NAV-point. The feeling of being alone helped Furrow relax a little. He knew the alien was nearby, but the illusion of him being by himself reminded him of his passed when he was by himself. He was use to it, and it made him feel right at home in these shadows. Magnum raised, and feet moving cautiously, Furrow activated his VISR-mode on his helmet. The trees began to outline in the darkness; giving him a better view around himself. He watched as a small bug fluttered from a tree in front of him, then watched as two bird-like creatures dived after it. The forest was quiet, and the suns were down, but life kept moving along. Almost at the same time, Furrow got two messages; one text, and one verbal; "Do you have any family warrior, er... Furrow?" Came from his ally ahead of him. //Furrow, we've got a full load of ammo and fuel. If you need us, just call. We are standing by to extract you. Good hunting. // Came across the bottom of his HUD from their ride in and out. The ODST paused, his brain registering both of the messages, but seemed to be locked on the question he was given... His family? Suddenly his brain crashed as images of the violent scene from his childhood emerged from the depths of his memories. The sight of the broken door. The stench of blood in the air and the sight of it on the walls. He even recalled seeing his Father’s body on the floor. Then the gunfire. He remembered it all like it was yesterday. How he slaughtered the men who killed his family, the feeling of pure hatred he had for them. One that he had never felt before until that day... Furrow looked down at his forearm and grimaced, softly placing his hand on where his tattoo was. He felt the warmth from the spot, and remembered the smiling faces of his family. It made him happy again, knowing they were in a better place. Gripping his magnum tight, Furrow snapped to it and moved forward a little faster. Furrow sent a green light to the Pelican pilot to acknowledge his message, and keyed his COM for the Elite. “They are safe.” The words fell out like a rock from Furrow’s mouth. He was saying the truth, as they were most definitely safe. Safe from this stupid war, and from any other horrors this universe could come up with. "You?" He wasn't much for talking, but Furrow figured it would pass the time... They were going to be out here for a while.

Special Operations Heretic Tavise Forest Slowing down a little bit as he heard the human's question, he knew his family had been fine, better than most Sangheili's. Though he suddenly remembered his mentor. He didn't know his father, though he knew the father had been alive and in the Covenant military until the man died. His mother was kind and caring along with being a strong woman. But his mentor was the one that caused him a problem. The Sangheili who had taught him to fight against his fears, taught him to kill, taught him to use a sword, taught him everything, he had been like a father. But suddenly Tavise felt sad. The man who had given him everything he had betrayed. He had become a Heretic and stray from his family's path. He didn't care much for honor but family mattered. He pushed the thought out of his mind when he assured himself becoming a Heretic was the right choice. He had been lied to by the Prophets! Not family but his highest rulers! Tavise then went back to his normal jog and responded to the human, "Never knew my father, my mother said he was a good man. My mother herself was great and a strong woman, I was happy to have been born by her, into her fa-" He choked on the word. "family. Though then I became a Heretic and went against the Prophets lies, leaving them behind." The Sangheili spoke, not mentioning his mentor as he continued towards the base.

Furrow frowned as the Elite spoke. Family was something everyone had in common in this war. It was something everyone shared. Whether they be alien, Human, or mule. Almost everyone had someone to return to. Furrow gripped his pistol tight and glanced at his forearm as he checked around him. This conversation was going badly, and it was getting them off track. It was nice to reminisce, but now wasn’t the time. “Alpha-One in sight.” Furrow lowered his pistol and started to jog at a hasty pace towards the marker he had placed. He couldn’t see the Elite as he was cloaked, but Furrow figured he was nearby. A distant sound quickly caught Furrow’s attention and he slipped into the shadows. Overhead, a purple Phantom dropship soared forward, flanked by two Banshees. Bingo. Furrow holstered his pistol and pulled his rifle out, aiming down the sight in the direction of the aircraft. He looked into the shadows, but all he could see were trees still. Checking his clock, Furrow noted that they had been out there for nearly 20 minutes, maybe longer. The base was close. If ships were overhead, then ground patrols were also around. He’d had to be more careful, but he didn’t have time to waste, so he got back to it; jogging at a steady pace in the direction that the ships went.

Heretic Special Operations Tavise Near Covenant Base The passing of the Covenant forces worried the Sangheili, though now he knew to be more cautious. He kept himself aware and his hand ready on his energy sword as he decided to speak to his teammate. "If we find any forces that need dealing with what is your choice, engage or travel around them?" Tavise asked as he walked closer to the human and matched his pace.

"If we find any forces that need dealing with what is your choice, engage or travel around them?"Furrow didn’t look over as he felt the presence of the Elite getting closer. With a quick glance out of his peripheral vision, he made sure that the coming shimmer was his ally though. Scanning from his nine to his three, Furrow continuously checked around him as the pair proceeded. “Stay dark unless necessary.” Furrow lowered his pistol some as he saw a purple blur in the distance. In the sky, Furrow could see the peak of what looked to be some sort of spire object. Though, it was much bigger than what he had seen before. More aircraft began to spin around in the air, and patrols in the skies become much more common. Furrow bit his lip. This could get interesting... “Stay frosty...” Furrow muttered to himself, raising his pistol back up as he and his Elite teammate began to close in on their objective.

Heretic Special Operations Tavise Covenant Base "Stay dark unless necessary"The Sangheili nodded and continued, not really sure what he had been told as they came ever so closer to the Covenant base. He saw the human look up and did so to and was greeted by a spire. It seemed they were just about there now. Though Tavise was discouraged by this sight rather than happy that they were close. A spire, here? If the Covenant had made one of these they would have many troops, and probably a few other small bases on this planet. The Heretic made a note to relay this to his commanders and continued, heading towards the tall structure.

Furrow gave a quick glance to his left and held up a fist immediately. Out of rection, Furrow fell to a knee and put his shoulder against a tree. Unlike the Elite, he was fully exposed and didn’t have any cloaking. He was fully visible if someone looked over. Yet, his black armor and the shadows mixed well. To their left, a small patrol composed of two Elites and six grunts waddled through the forest. And on their right, a single Elite with three Jackals emerged. Furrow bit his lip, and slowly lowered himself onto his stomach. He listened well, and peeked his head up just enough to watch as the patrols scanned and checked the area. The Covenant were always on alert, which always made it difficult to infiltrate their defenses... Getting there was a problem, staying hidden was a problem, and getting out was always a disaster.

Heretic Special Operations Tavise Wilderness The warrior stopped as the Covenant troops went around him and his teammate. He pondered how to handle the situation for a second then decided what to do. He quickly climbed onto a tree and placed a plasma grenade on a large branch. He then got ready to saw off that branch with his energy sword for it would fall on the Covenant Sangheili and hopefully the blast would kill the Grunts. "Any objections? It will look like it happened naturally. Branch fell and detonated one of their grenades, causing their deaths. The other lance will have no idea we're here." He questioned positioning his deactivated sword next to the branch.

As the Elite moved, Furrow watched him make the trap. This one was rash, but he could understand. It was in their nature. If Furrow could, he would’ve done the same. He wouldn’t object, but he would need to get clear. “Hold.” Furrow lifted his rifle and his body, getting to a knee. Slowly, he began to rotate around with the moving patrols, then slowly started to slide to his right towards the base. He checked the branch, then the trajectory it would fall after the cut. The patrol was moving in fast, but Furrow kept himself steady and continued to move away. By the time it was time, Furrow was several meters closer and kept his silences rifle ready. “Do it...” Furrow cycled the first round and leveled his scope on the head of the furthest Elite. If the branch missed; he wouldn’t.

Special Operations Heretic Tavise Staying 'Frosty' The warrior smiled as he activated the sword and quickly cut the branch. As it soared down Tavise saw he had been too quick and headstrong as usual, causing it to not land directly onto the Covenant Sangheili. Instead it skimmed the Elite which seemed to stun him and roll over exposing the blast to the Grunts. All the Grunts died except for one who was injured, and Tavise quickly moved to another tree to get a view of the other lance.

As the tree fell, Furrow clenched and prepared himself. He watched as it dropped, and watched as it missed. No matter. He tracked the Alien as it rolled away and watched it raise its rifle upwards. Its shields were down, and he could see that the Elite’s armor was scratched. Furrow wasted no time and quickly leveled the sight. Holding his breath, Furrow steadied then pulled. His rifle kicked back slightly, but the muzzle didn’t flash. Only a quiet ping reached Furrow’s ears. The Elite never even heard the shot as the bullet pierced the center of his skull. Without another sound, the alien dropped to the ground. Furrow turned his rifle over to the next group and watched, training his rifle on the leader of he looked over the ‘accident’. Without checking much, he ordered three grunts to begin the clean up before moving off with the rest of his group. “Wait till he’s gone, then drop the trio.” Furrow whispered to his team mate and kept his rifle tight to the head of the other Elite.

Heretic Special Operations Tavise Tree The soldier nodded at the human and waited a few moments. As the other Covenant lance disapeared into the trees he waited a few more moments than looked at the Grunts. After a quick second of thinking he activated his energy knife in his off-hand and jumped. Upon landing each prong of his sword were inside a Grunts body as he pulled his knife out of the other one's skull. "Ready to move on?" Tavise asked as he put away his sword, prepared to be stealthy again and started walking towards the Spire.

Furrow tilted his rifle and pulled out his combat knife. He gently placed his rifle to the ground and sighed softly, looking over the markings along the side. Today was not the day he would stop the tally. With a light and gentle motion, he carved another mark at the end of the line. One more would make another five-bunch. It was sickening how many he had killed already. Though, now wasn’t the time to regret pulling the trigger. He had a long way to go. Sheathing his knife, and snagging up his rifle, Furrow glanced behind him towards the Covenant base. It was within sight and now the real mission started. With a heavy breath, Furrow got up and moved forward to the edge of the forest, pausing just in the shadows to keep from being sighted by a random guard. He placed his back softly against a tree and peeked around the trunk, poking his head out as little as he possibly could. “Elite.” Furrow called to his teammate, already forgetting the alien’s name. Nor did he really care what it was. He’d probably never see the thing again anyways. “Recon starts now. Do what you do and get as much intel as possible. Stay quiet, stay out of sight. Don’t get caught. If you go in, I can help little. Keep that in mind.” Furrow lowered himself down next to the tree, laying his rifle underneath a bush next to him and instead pulled the scope off the main body. He connected the scope to his HUD and began to slowly look through the viewfinder, taking pictures of everything he possibly could. If it was alien, he snapped a picture and sent it back to command. He’d set up a vid-link later on if necessary as well. “I give us two hours max. After that, we evac no matter what. If you secure a large amount, and too much to lose, come to me and we’ll go. Do not engage any targets unless you’ve got a death wish.” Furrow lowered his scope some and narrowed his eyes on a golden Elite that approached the base with two silver armored Elites with him. Furrow raised his scope and quickly took multiple pictures of the Elite before it disappeared inside of a building.

Heretic Tavise Covenant Spire The Sangheili sprinted forward and made sure his cloak was engaged again. It was a very large structure, though much of it's height was the gravity elevator. The whole area was full of Covenant troops, low to high. He sighed and realized this was going to be a tedious mission of stealth. He put all his weapons away and got ready to take pictures. He started with a large one of the spire, then the gravity lift and he started looking around the area. It seemed the spire was in a pit-like area with the side he and the human on being the largest side around it. They were at the top height of the first floor of the spire and almost at the ground level of the second floor. A 45 degree angle gave a clear view of the gravity lift. Tavise looked at the other buildings. Two smaller bases, a large vehicle depot and what seemed like an armory. He sent more pictures until the key places of the area were pointed out and started descending down the hill. Once at the bottom he headed towards the spire. While being cloaked he entered the little rut underneath the first floor. He took a picture of it and one of the beginning of the gravity lift. Exiting that area he walked up a ramp to the first floor. He was undetected so far and the recon was going well. Suddenly his sensors picked up a large increase of dots to which he looked around. Two lances of Unggoy with a Sangheili minor leading each and a major in the front. He quickly but quietly flattened his back to the wall in a corner of the room. One lance went right, the other left while the major entered the gravity lift on the opposite side of him. It wasn't time to ascent yet, he didn't know what was up there. He took another picture of the area from the first floor and headed down to the bottom of the pit. "Human what have you got so far? There seems to be a few high ranking soldiers here along with a full-operation." He spoke, starting to head towards the armory.

Corporal Jake Furrow ODST 105TH Sniper Tarsus System, Planet Carson |
Furrow watched the movement of several of the guards, taking mental notes of their movements. He pulled up a notepad from his lower left pocket, and began to note the old fashion way. His armor didn’t have much of a recording system, and he couldn’t start up a link just yet. Slowly, he stared and watched each guard at a time, writing down their motions. Every detail, every turn of the head, every step was noted. He marked changes in motion, what an Elite did when he needed a break, his favorite spot, the spot he didn’t look at the most, and even bad habits if the guards had them. Furrow would write everything. The more the troops knew, and the more he got down, the easier the later operation would be. Most people would think little of his writing, but it would save lives. Maybe not a hundred, but hopefully at least one. "Human what have you got so far? There seems to be a few high ranking soldiers here along with a full-operation." “Base has a lot of freaks coming... None leaving...” Furrow made the note almost subconsciously as he watched two Phantoms hover off the top of the spire and drop off three more Zealots. He quickly took a snapshot and lowered his scope, getting a look for himself at the next sight... A Prophet was escorted out of the side of one of the phantoms. “New SIT. HPT; Prophet. Do not engage. Will notify command. Stand-by.” Furrow grabbed the scope and connected it to his helmet while opening a link to the UNSC FOB they had been dispatched from. “Overwatch, Furrow reporting. Request immediate VID uplink. Priority Six-Six-Nine-Red.” “Confirmed, Furrow. Establishing uplink.” A male voice responded after several seconds of silence, and a small screen appeared in the bottom right of Furrow’s HUD, showing himself what he was showing the base. After a few seconds, along with scuffling and low voices, the man spoke again. “Furrow, confirm HPT.” Zooming the scope to twenty-times, he focused the lens on the Prophet along with his four Honor-Guards. With such a low profile entrance, it may have been a Minor Prophet. Furrow couldn’t tell, but he was told before of the two different ranks. He was told of High Prophets being heavily guarded and respected. This one looked to be simply escorted, not guarded. “Confirmed HPT, Overwatch. Orders?” Furrow asked, watching the Prophet as he was greeted by five Zealots and six Ultras. “Continue with the mission. Avoid contact with the Prophet and his guards and keep a low profile. We don’t want to spook it. If he can kill him during the OP, even better.” “Roger, Overwatch. Continuing with the mission.” Furrow cut the uplink and set down the scope, watching with his own eyes as the Prophet was walked inside of the spire and the Phantoms that brought him in disappeared under their cloaking devices. Why would a Minor Prop-.. Scratch that. Why would any Prophet, come to this planet?

Heretic Special Operations Tavise
Armory The warrior scanned the small room. No one was here and the only things inside were weapons. From plasma pistols to fuel rod cannons and all types of grenades. Now would be a good time for human 'C4' as they called it for later usage. He looked around some more and then he saw it. A small bomb, probably good enough for a 25x25 foot radius. Tavise made a note to return here later and exited the armory. He then looked back up at the Spire and saw him. There was a Prophet here and rage instantly flowed through Tavise's body. The so called 'leaders' of the Covenant who spread lies and never even fought. He ran back and quietly grabbed a beam rifle from the armory. He put away the plasma repeater in exchange for he could keep his speed up. In about one minute he reached the vehicles location. They had four wraiths, four banshees, four ghosts and two revenants. All that was needed for an assault. He had already noticed the large amount of Phantoms in the air too. As he had extensive experience with them, he figured the banshee may come in use later and exited. He then walked over to an isolated area and spoke. "I'm guessing youv'e seen the Prophet? Slaying him could be a key way to assist in this mission and hurt the Covenant." He stated, before also telling the human about the armory and vehicle depot. He also noted the bomb, but not the Sangheili maybe taking a banshee. He then sent some pictures of the two places to command and prepared for the next step. "I believe it is now time for me to enter the second floor, and then top of the spire. I'd recommend having friendly forces standing by, and formulating a plan for these two, risky areas." The Heretic said, taking out the beam rifle and looking at the top. The Prophet seemed gone now, probably inside the top room of the spire.

Furrow noted the drop-off points for the Phantoms and how they unloaded the Covenant officials and guards. There were four locations, each with a door to the interior of the top of the Spire. The Phantoms flew down, uncloaked, opened their side-door, released the VIPs, and then cloaked and left. There were also some VIPs coming in from below; meaning there were other bases on the planet. With the Prophet here, there were surely war-talks going on inside. "I'm guessing you've seen the Prophet? Slaying him could be a key way to assist in this mission and hurt the Covenant." The Elite spoke over the channel. Furrow shook his head lightly. “No. Killing him would alert the rest and jeopardize the mission. This is a recon mission, not an assassination.” Furrow looked back down towards the armory and vehicle depot locations at the Elite spoke, taking note of where they were and their contents. Then the Elite said he was going to go into the spire. "I believe it is now time for me to enter the second floor, and then top of the spire. I'd recommend having friendly forces standing by, and formulating a plan for these two, risky areas."“Don’t get caught.” Furrow responded, putting the scope back onto his rifle. His job was done, and he had noted nearly everything there was to be noted from the outside. Now he had to wait for the Elite to do what he was good at.

Heretic Tavise Second Floor of Spire Taking out his deactivated energy sword, the Sangheili entered the building. No problem so far, there were two small patrols again. One on the left, the other on the right, the major in the middle room. Taking the lift would be an issue. If he went up the bump would alert someone up there, or there would be someone there. He looked back outside from one patrol to the other. They were standing there scanning the area. He knew they would be there for a few minutes. Tavise had an idea, it was risky but he thought it would work. Sneaking up behind the major, he put his hand over the soldier's mouth as he used his other hand to put an energy dagger in front of the Elite's face. "Don't... make... a sound." He whispered as he moved the energy dagger closer to the Covenant member's mouth. "I'm gonna send you up the lift, and your'e going to say you tripped into the lift." The Heretic softly spoke, receiving a small nod in return. Slowly walking he jammed the major's foot into the wall and shoved him into the lift imitating someone tripping. Immediately after the major the Special operator joined him going up. When they reached the top there was a small bump in the ground and as he peered around it, Tavise saw an ultra guarding it and instantly froze. Fortunately the major proceeded to tell him that he had tripped, and would head to the gravity lift down immediatly. The Ultra nodded and returned to his position. Fortunately Tavise silently grabbed the major again, this time silently snapping his neck. He then dropped him down the gravity lift hole, but out of it for he landed on the second floor roof. Fortunately he knew this would have a good chance of not being noticed, as there was no one under that roof anymore. Whispering Tavise talked into the radio. "All is well, a soldier or two suspicious, but that is all. Though if anyone walks to the middle of the second floor and looks confused, killing them will be necessary. I'd say we have about a half hour to an hour until that happens, if it does." He finished, silently walking out of the room. He took a picture of the grav lift top room he had just exited, while making a note that read 'in the top, there is one that leads down. As he began to explore the rest. (OOC: Saber I'm giving you the choice of when someone notices that guard is gone. Chose a time and then see if it seems it's been that long. As said kill them, or alert Tavise. Unless we can start the combat part.)

Furrow adjusted in his position and rotated the end of his sniper to the left, focusing down the scope at a group of approaching vehicles. Two of which were what looked to be Covenant troop transport craft. Furrow watched and followed them with the end of his rifle until they pulled up to the front of the spire. “Convoy approaching the spire. Three Zealots and several guards. 5 minutes until they get to your position. 3 till they see the body. Get moving.” Furrow restrained himself from pulling the trigger, and had to pry his hand from the trigger as he watched the group walk from the vehicles towards the spire. If only there was more UNSC here, he would’ve dropped them the moment he saw their helmets.

Heretic Tavise Top Of Spire Responding with a slight grunt, Tavise hurredly while silently began taking pictures and noting certain locations in the area. Once the basics were done with the two grav lifts up, the down one and the wall he went to the front. He heard the familiar sound of a Phantom close by and became nervous. There, he made it. The prophet, twenty guards, ten to fifteen Zealots and a few ultras stood guard with the Prophet. He didn't recognize this one and figured he was very minor. Walking back away he saw a few guards heads shift but wasn't noticed. As he went towards the Grav lift down the soldiers the human had mentioned walked by him, angry looking. The Special Operator turned around and saw as one started speaking to the Prophet. He dropped an audio recorder in a little crack and went down the Grav lift, shouting coming from the Spire. "It won't be long until they know we're here. Ask your commanders if we should initiate combat or do our best to escape." He shouted running away from the spire. Depending on his teammates response he would start heading towards the armory. Thankfully no alarm yet but all soldiers of Ultra or above seemed to know, at least part to not worry the others. Reaching the armory, Tavise took out the beam rifle and lined it up to attempt to shoot the Prophet through the glass. "Whatever we need to do, let's do it now."

“I’ll conta-” Furrow began to speak before static filled his ears. and a barrage of voices spoke one by one. “Recon Team, this is Omega-Six-One, call sign Firefox. We are inbound with a hot package. Requesting that you laze the target...” Furrow checked his wrist-mounted TACPAD and noticed that three more people were on the channel, and that Command had also approved of their movements. “Recon Team, this is Fight Night-One, call sign Sparrowhawk. We’ve got a load of ODSTs in the back and they are green for infiltration. Command sent us a message five minutes ago and we’ve come in from the UNSCS First Step. We’ll follow Omega Flight in and drop right down behind their package towards the front of the base. Pop smoke if you can or just drop me a waypoint.” “Recon team, Captain Willis reporting in. Sparrowhawk here is going to drop us off right next to the base. If you guys can, provide sniper fire and give us a hand. We’ll be taking the entire spire.” Furrow looked for his Elite ally and took a deep breath. After that video uplink earlier, Command must’ve decided that it would be better to strike and not give a chance for these guys to leave. They had no choice but to fight now. Though, Furrow wished he had known where his partner was. “Recon Team copies all. Lazing the top of the spire for you Firefox.” Furrow pulled out a targeter from his pack and leveled it, shooting the red laser across the sky onto the top of the spire. “Elite, pop smoke near the front of the base for Sparrowhawk, I’ll provide sniper cover. Escort them in. I’ll come down once the courtyard is secure.” Furrow set the targeter in the dirt and kept the laser on the spire before gripping onto his rifle. He clicked the scope, honing in his rifle to the precise distance and continued to search for his ally. “Copy that Recon Team. We’ve got your target. Omega-Six-One, coming in hot. Watch your heads boys.” Over the cliff in the distance, four shadows arched into view of the Spire. It only took a few seconds before they were within clear sight. Four Shortswords with opened cargo bays screamed over the airspace, dropping their payloads right on target. Eight high explosive ordinance collided brightly with the top of the spire, erupting into bright blue and orange flames as the top of the building was turned to scrap. Massive holes from the precision bombs were gouged open, but more importantly; the entire top of the building was exposed, and only a few heavily wounded bodies moved around inside. Fires burned brightly and sparks from electronics spurted everywhere. Blood was splattered and burned into the walls, and bodies hung from the edges of the top. Several bodies actually fell, dropping a lengthy distance before smashing into the ground. Right on cue from behind the Shortswords, Five Pelicans dropped out of the sky with their guns and missiles primed. They quickly opened fire on the courtyard as the Base woke up. Elites, Grunts, and Jackals that scurried around out of the confusion were gunned down and blown to bits as the Dropships made their way to the front of the base in search of the marker.

Heretic Tavise Spire (This song should work pretty well) As the humans came in Tavise made a signal at the bottom front of the spire and threw grenades around it to catch attention. Then right before shooting the Prophet, the bombs were dropped causing him to kill a guard instead. A loud buzz was heard in his ear before he cancelled the connection to the either broken or heavily damaged audio recorder. He looked back up at the Spire and didn't see the Prophet, though he saw the chair. He fired a shot that caused another explosion, throwing the practically dead Prophet out the glass. Running quickly, Tavise pulled out his energy sword as the Prophet was impaled. "Your lies are no more, misguider." He stated, shoving the sword deeper into the Prophet. He then kicked the body off and ran back towards the armory. "Let's do this!" He yelled, in an unusual human tone across the radio. He encountered little trouble except slight Covenant gunfire as he reached the room. Upon entering he sliced up a small lance of Grunts and an Elite and lunged towards the bomb. With slight experience he armed it and using all his strength kicked it out the room. Suddenly he was joined by a few human... ODSTs the Heretic thought was there name who assisted him pushing the bomb to the bottom of the spire. They aren't so weak after all The Special Operator thought as the bomb was positioned at the bottom of the spire. "Move!" He ordered as the bomb reached it's half a minute mark. All friendly forces cleared the area as the explosion went off, utterly destroying the first two floors and turning off the Gravity lifts. At first the area was filled with cheers. Then Tavise saw the still floating spire, which wasn't going to be for long. "GET CLEAR!" He shouted as he sprinted away and towards his teammate. The spire was destroyed, Prophet dead, and the vehicle depot a mound of metal. All that was left was cleaning up the mess of the Covenant, many of which were killed in the fall of the Spire. Reaching the human Tavise asked, "Having fun?"
