Pilots take ranks equivalent to their positions, so....1st/2nd Lt. for Co-Pilots and Fresher Pilots, and Captains for most.

Majors command Flights

Lt.Colonels command Squadrons.

Colonels command Wings.

Cracker, do not find holes in the enemies lines, there is a reason there will be a reaction post to everyone's actions so far, just because you don't have players on the other side does not mean you can dictate the enemy.

You perform actions, I do not mind a few dramatic kills of grunts here and there but the Elite kill count has started to increase worryingly, next person to engage in mass NPC killing will be on the buissness end of a plasma-mortar.

yeah sure but it means if their that clsoe to you your likely doomed. Elites in hand to hand combat means your squad isint lival to survive.

Put it this way, even in my two times my mariens been in hand to hand combat with either an elite or bruite, they were one of those vs my whole squad and they narrowly made it out. My RP sample for Marcus gives possibly the best example of this. One brute vs my squad. My squad won yes. Injuries sustained hoever was 1 concussion, two knockedo ut marines likely with some fractured bones and that was one brute.

just the marines, ODST were landing in covenant populated areas so we were to engage in light resistance. I think the problem was that marines were rping the cavalry coming at them when they were actually a few miles back and a good few players had put themselves in an area known as the bad place, they were all about to catch a vevry bad case of the deadsies.

RPing isn't about blood and gore and killing as many things you can in one sentance... We're writing a story in a sense ladies, and a story is not full of fighting. Get use to it. The big giant 5000 word post is there for a reason. Follow the rules.

I was bloody confused too, by the time I had posted (my OP didn't mention any covies in sight), others had already started. I guess a mix of eagerness and misreading is to blame :S

And as for the word count, anyone who doesn't already have it should get Open Office to write posts in probably (unless you already have MS Word).

Speaking of the word count should those who have short posts currently in the RP (such as mine) be made longer, or just left alone?

What the heck. No one was fighting those Elites hand-to-hand. It was a sniper team and a fireteam, plus two Warthogs going at 'em. I'm not sure how incredibly gifted the Covies are supposed to be in this RPG's canon, but that was like seven Marines and two mounted MGs against three of them. I fail to see how the Marines wouldn't've even had a slight chance at winning that.

Anyway, beyond that I don't know the exact details of why a lot of the Marines thread got junked. It said the Covies were on approach and almost on our ass, but we're not supposed to fight them? And some players were already including fight scenes in their posts, so...really not sure what's okay to write at this point.
