As most of you know, Tom Clancy's games had changed the history of gaming and it had developed as time went on. Of course, the highly anticipated The Division and Rainbow Six Patriots are definitely up there. But did you know that there were at least 4 games with connecting story lines and cameos of other games?

Ghost Recon, Rainbow Six, Splinter Cell, HAWX, and they were all rolled into EndWar. The Division had been recently added, but no connections have been made yet... until now in Yappas?

Ghost Recon 2 and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory: Sinking of the USS Clarence E. Walsh.
- In SC Chaos Theory, Sam Fisher was tasked to uncover who fired the missile that sunk the USS Walsh. It was discovered that it was an inside job by the allied Japanese DF who were supporting a PMC being directed by a close friend of Sam's...
- In Ghost Recon 2, North Korea was blamed responsible for the attack, sparking the war and deployment of the Ghosts.

Ghost Recon and R6
- No connection known but might have been mentioned in EndWar novels.

Splinter Cell and R6
- In R6V2 (Rainbow 6 Vegas 2), the traitor, Gabriel Nowak, posed as a NSA Splinter Cell that sought to destroy the Rainbow organization and became a terrorist in the process.
- There was also an easter egg where Bishop (main character) says, "Why couldn't the NSA handle it?" And the NSA Director (or whoever it was) replies, "Our first agent has gone dark." Referencing Sam Fisher either going undercover in Double Agent or going rogue at the end of the game.

Ghost Recon and HAWX
- GRAW (Advanced Warfighter 1 and 2) and HAWX 1 & 2 played huge roles as the HAWX provided CAS for Ghost Units ground side.

HAWX and Splinter Cell
- 3rd Echelon provides Intel for HAWX for various missions such as location to the CEO of the PMC group, Artemis.

EndWar
- Ghosts were some of the ground units for the US Faction
- Formers Ghosts in the past and personnel who worked with them are now in High Command Positions either as US or EU factions
- HAWX were some of the air units for the US Faction
- Splinter Cell operators were also ground units for the US.

Available PC Factions are:

1. Ghosts - US Army Special Forces. 1st Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group, Delta Company. Ghost Recon. Officially, they don't exist. Their operations are just rumors known to outsiders. Very few have seen them in action. The best of the best in conventional and unconventional warfare. (known as GST/Group for Specialized Tactics in Future Soldier era). (Tier 1 Special Forces)

2. Splinter Cells - NSA, Fourth Echelon. They also do not exist. If they are killed or captured by anyone, the US Government will deny their existence. They are experts at infiltrating, extracting and gathering intelligence, and exfiltrating without a trace. Even when you thought the most secure locations can't be infiltrated, they will find a way. (Clandestine Black Ops) (Recommended for those who RP ONI Agents )

3. Rainbow Operators - NATO, Team Rainbow. Operating at an International level, Rainbow consists of multiple teams from many nations and different backgrounds. Each Operator is handpicked for the team because of their qualifications, specializations, and capabilities. They undergo extensive training with specialties in Counter Terrorism, Hostage Rescue, Direct Action, and other tasks. They're the ones who knock on Terrorism's door. (International Counter Terrorism Group)

4. HAWX - US Air Force. High Altitude Warfare Experimental Group. Highly experienced pilots who are handpicked to support any asset at a Clandestine level. Using the most cutting-edge technology at their disposal, they seek to change the battlefield and dominate the airspace. (For Pilots)

5. The Division Agent - Strategic Homeland Division. Clandestine Operations for containment, control, and restoring order when local authorities and government has fallen. Majority are sleeper agents who live among society until they are activated by the POTUS under Directive 51. Can operate at an international level.

Universe: The Division's Alternate Universe

Joint Task Force Callsign: Task Force Salvation

Location: New York City, New York, USA

Timeline: Friday, December 23rd, 2016 to New Years Day (Sunday, January 1st, 2017)

Plot: On the day before Christmas Eve at 0653 Hours Eastern Standard Time, a biological weapon was discovered being circulated on banknotes throughout the Eastern Seaboard of the United States and is beginning to spread West. Victims who had physical contact with the contaminated money had contracted the a more deadlier strain of the Smallpox virus according to FBI's Crime Lab in Quantico, Virginia. We have not seen a Smallpox outbreak this large in scale since 1967.

The first death was a U.S. Secret Service Agent in the Nation's capital, Washington, D.C., but we had found large concentrations of contaminated banknotes originating from the crossroads of the world: New York City. Soon after the first death, additional deaths were reported in at a rate that even the database couldn't almost handle. Decontamination zones and quarantines where setup within hours, but the containment was a failure as civilians began to riot, loot, and even attack first responders, CDC personnel, and Federal Agencies within the area.

By dusk, the Big Apple rapidly became the Rotten Apple as panic ensued among the population. Local authorities had lost control of the situation and the City's government had deteriorated. The New York National Guard were slow to respond and were overwhelmed by problems of their own throughout the state in attempts to secure the Governor in Albany and control the chaos that was abundant. 

Directive 51 is in full effect and the few Strategic Homeland Division Agents who are already within the City are doing the best they can to control the situation. Other Division Agents along the East Coast are occupied dealing with their own assigned cities so there won't be any support from them any time soon. On the other hand, when the POTUS realized that New York City was the point of origin of the "Green Poison," he ordered the deployment of the best of the best to support the Division Agents. Ghost Recon Teams from Fort Bragg, North Carolina are enroute along with Team Rainbow enroute from Washington, D.C. Fourth Echelon already have boots on the ground, but they're Radio Silence until they make contact with our friendly units. HAWX support is standing by for close air support, but they have quite a response time since they're posted fifty nautical miles East of NYC on a Carrier. Be careful where and when you designate targets. We do not want collateral damage.

Through the Splinter Cell Agents' surveillance, they reported homicidal Sanitation Workers with flamethrowers who targeted anyone on sight, hostile civilians with stolen firearms from local law enforcement and federal agencies, escaped prisoners from Rikers Island with NYC Department of Corrections equipment, and sighting of an unknown militia unit with "LMB" patches on their BDUs and a white circular logo to go with it. The militia were too far from the Splinter Cells to make out what the logo was. Whether these militia groups are friendly or hostile, I recommend caution until positive ID has been made. Be advised, there is a civilian presence within the city since not all of them were able to evacuate. Check your targets, watch where you fire, and keep those weapons tight.

You are tasked with finding the source of the outbreak and I want New York City saved along with the sons of bitches responsible. Rescue any civilians along the way. Fifth Freedom is granted to all personnel. Good luck and God-speed, Task Force Salvation.

Totally not going to play a Ghost... (totally playing as one).

(Ghost Recon was my favorite game for the older generation of consoles. In fact, I still play the Ghost Recon available on steam (The original) and from time to time I fire up the old Xbox and play Ghost Recon 2. Fun times.

If it's anything like the games, it's 4-person teams. That's how it's always been. If it's anything like real Operational Detachment Alphas (ODAs) like in the US Army Special Forces, it's a 12-person team with a division of three 4-person teams.

In the original Ghost Recon game, the 2001 release on PC, there was a limit to three Ghosts per team. Of course, you also had the option to go with three teams of two, but most people (and always me) used the two teams of three method. The only time I used the third team was when I had a sniper, in which case I'd go three teams of two. (Sniper needs protection, yo.)

That's why I said 3.


In the novel "Ghost Recon: Combat Ops" it appears to be a larger unit, but I've only read a short sample of the book thus far. It seemed to be structured by the author the way you have mentioned the ODA is organised. Either way, to the point where I'm at, I recall six Ghosts on his team. I don't know where the book is or I'd finish it (I'm pretty sure it went to the Salvation Army).

Mitchell and four others (five total) attack a compound while Treehorn is on the cliff providing sniper cover. IIRC, Mitchell never says 'Bravo Team' so I assume they were all members of his team from the start.

That's all I was sayin'.

This confusion yo. 3. 4. 6. 3. 2. 4. 3. 6. I forgot about the structuring in Ghost Recon 1, Island Thunder, Desert Siege, etc... I only read the Operation War Wraith book (reference) and forgot how they were structured in there exactly, but I do remember the teams were Alpha and Bravo with the folks from GRAW involved (Smith, Hume, Allen, Nolan, Beasley, Smith) and the original folks from Ghost Recon 2 (Ramirez, Brown, Diaz), but it seems too obscured to be identifiable.

It does show that there was a 12-person team when Mitchell was a Master Sergeant in ODA, but that's ODA, not Ghosts.

*sighs* I think we should stick with 4-person teams. Makes more sense since there would be 2 and 2 buddy teams as a well-rounded group. Not saying 3 and 3 are not well-rounded, but that's how it was in GR2, GRAW, GRAW2, GR:FS, and Wildlands. Good deal?

Holy Crap 120 the fact you revived a 2 year old dead thing is amazing, Im highly tempted to create some free time to do this, also tempted to dig out my GRAW2 and play it again xD

I do remember in GRAW 2 that the fireteam was actually pretty sizable (i believe it was 4 or 5) with backups but I haven't played in forever.
