I was wondering if anyone would like to practice an RP with me, just a fun little game while I wait for my character to be accepted and also to get back into roleplaying again. (note: I'm not sure if this is heavily frowned upon or not. I'm just new and looking to get my feet wet.)
I was thinking the setting would just be a battle on one of the Halo Multiplayer maps; Blood Gulch to be exact. However instead of on a Halo ring, it's on some rock in the middle of space, a planet, roughly the size of Earth, with three small moons orbiting it. The bases are the same forerunner bases, the layout is exactly the same, just a different sky.
The Covenant have been tasked with acquiring an artifact deep below the blue base, while the UNSC have set their minds set on stopping them. Both of them are dropping down forces via Pelican or Phantom, filled with your characters and NPCs. The Covenant plopped down a base camp around the blue base, and UNSC forces had no choice but to pitch up their tents on the opposite end. The top of the canyon is a vast, barren plateau with strong winds and loose gravel, making setting up forces above the canyon near-impossible.
Anyone is welcome to join.

Sergeant Anthony Greendyke ordered the men out of the pelican as soon as the pilot told them they had landed. The marines stormed from the back of the pelican bay, being greeted by nothing besides the sun beating down on them and the walls trapping them inside. Two other pelicans landed and dropped in the rest of the squad, plus crates of ammunition and other supplies. The marines all fell into a semi circle around their pelicans before they were waved forward by their leaders. Corporal Lockless to the left and Chevara to the right.
As they moved towards the large building, the marines carefully jogging up with their rifles pointed straight, Greendyke ordered Corporal Schuhart to take two of his men and advance into the base ahead of the main advance. The three ran forward and disappeared in the doorway, the three teams of infantry gathered around the three entrances. Greendyke leaned against the wall to the side of the opening, rifle pointed at the ground, after a few minutes, Schuhart radioed in that the building was clear.
"Breach." He said into his radio.
"Breaching." Came the reply from Lockless and Chevara, Private Baker who had been on the opposite side of the wall slid inside, followed by Greendyke and the rest of the men. The interior was pitch black, and flashlights were the only thing illuminating the halls.

Mog dropped out of the circular hole in the bottom of the phantom, moving out of the way for his partner, Gek. He landed lightly on his feet, sprinting off of the platform and down the ramp, towards elevated ground as Gek did the same, both of them keeping their distance from each other.
Meanwhile Covenant forces entered the base, the shining blue lights indicating the entrances. Unggoy entered the small structure, carrying portable lights, as the Kig-Yar created a perimeter, holding their shields up. Mog sprinted into a nearby cave, which was eliminated by some kind of bio-luminescent moss. His partner followed, and slipped behind the cave opening as Mog looked out at the other base, seeing only Pelicans retreating into the sky.

Private Jason Einhardt was one of the last off the three Pelican drop-ships and the last to enter the odd, circular structure that proceeded the Marines's landing zone. He held in his hands the standard issue MA5B assault rifle. Fastened to his side by magnetic strips on his thigh armor was a silver-plated M6D sidearm that glistened in the bright sunlight. As Einhardt passed through the threshold of the door, he whipped around and dropped to one knee.
He pointed his rifle towards the door and kept his eyes peeled in case anything were to try to sneak up on them. While he found it highly unlikely that that would be the case, as the last man inside the structure, it was he who was responsible for rear security. While he sat there crouched down staring out the doorway, his mind began to steadily wander. He was curious as to the reasoning behind deploying UNSC forces into a boxed in canyon such as the one they were in.
He knew the structures found within bore some significance. Though, he wasn't sure why or for what reason they did. All he knew is that their platoon's commander had ordered the squad here and Sergeant Greendyke had them load up and ship out.
All in all, this seemed like it was going to be a boring op. This was Einhardt's first mission. He'd recently been assigned to the unit after graduating from the Marine Corps School of Infantry. He hadn't particularly wanted to be a Marine or serve in the armed forces at all. As his luck would have, the government had drafted him into service shortly before he was to go to college. His family had been very disgruntled by that fact. However, he knew there was nothing anyone could do, so he'd opted to make the best of it. After four years he could get out with benefits to go to college like he had originally planned.
The comm blaring in his ear, he heard someone from the squad announce, "All clear!" Einhardt sighed and stood up. He turned around and headed into the facility to regroup with Sergeant Greendyke and the rest of the squad.

Greendyke walked up the ramp, rifle still raised until the sunlight once again struck him and the sounds of the outside came to his ears. Schuhart had radioed in that the sergeant needed to see something and Greendyke had a poor feeling in his gut about it. When he reached the top, Schuhart and some other marines were crouched behind the large metal barriers that crenelated the perimeter of the of the base. Schuhart waved him over and Greendyke ducked low, falling to a knee when he reached the corporal.
"You need to see this, sir." He said, passing Greendyke his marksmen rifle. Sighing, he lowered his rifle and took the new weapon, raising it to his shoulder and staring at the scope. The corporal ordered him to look at the rich to the northeast and he did so after some searching, seeing a brief glimpse of some sort of blue disc. He knew what it really was though. He cursed.
"Second squad, hostile units spotted to the north of the canyon. Bring in those turrets and set them up, I want one on the roof and two facing the doorways. We don't got long." Searching a bit more, he saw the roof of the other base and saw what looked like an elite walking around it, followed by two grunts. He passed the weapon back to the corporal and told him to keep his eyes peeled.

Mog stared through the scope of his Beam Rifle as Gek did the same. He saw the last marine pivot and take point at the door way, and could hear Gek take a deep breathe, ready to fire at him. Mog told him to wait, that now wasn't quite yet the time to attack. The marines could possibly take the blue base with an all-out assault since the Sengheili had not all arrived yet.
"Cover me." Mog ordered as he sprinted for a large rock nearby, glancing to two of the men exchanging a large-barreled weapon. Most likely the inferior human sniper rifles. Mog sprints, and hides behind the rock, taking in a deep breath. He can't see the base at all from here, but will get a pretty good view of any soldiers trying to make a forward attack on their base.
"I'll take point here. Gek, stay there." Mog orders, but hears the low fum of his partner's Beam Rifle as Gek takes a shot at the personnel on the roof.

Baltimore Marks heaved a disgruntled sigh as he marched up the ramp behind the rest of the soldiers, stopping halfway to scan the landscape visible from the ramp entrance way, before making his way to the roof. Kneeling next to one of the fort's strange claw-like roof defense walls, and pulling the but of his DMR to his shoulder, he peered through the sight. A small glint of vibrant purple on one of the canyon's ridges caught his eye, but it was gone before he could fix his sight on it. Unsure whether if it really was a hostile or just the blistering heat playing tricks on him, he lowered his DMR and looked to Sergeant and Corporal as they finished their hushed conversation with a curse and a radio command.
Frowning at the decidedly negative conversation conclusion, Balto turned back to peering through his sight at the enemy fortress. He had a bad feeling this opt wouldn't turn out as planned... but he kept that thought to himself as he waited. 'It was probably nothing...', he attempted to convince himself.
'Why did I have to get stuck with this opt?',he wondered. 'That's what happens when you get stabbed in a mission, you're lucky you didn't get discharged.',whispered a tiny voice in the back of his mind.
The sharp hum of a beam rifle shot pulled Balto from his thoughts and back into the situation at hand. He didn't see where the shot landed but he searched for where the shot had come from. From what he could tell, it came from somewhere along the canyon ridge. He aimed with his DMR trained on the ridge but waited for the command to return fire.
