Ekdo VS Roy

Roy stood across from the high ranking elite, they stood in a simi-circular area of cleared forest, having become this way because of some of the wreckage. Roy had A MA5C with an underslung grenade launcher and a red dot radical, as well as a stockless shotgun. He also had his trusty satchel, its contents were one portable welding tool, four frag grenades, several clips for his assault rifle, shredder and AP, and four Pipe bombs, as well as the newly acquired energy blade.

Roy didn't waste any time, dropping to one knee he fired two three round bursts, using his elbow on his knee to stabilize the shots.

Ekdo had arrived with his Plasma Rifle, Energy Sword, and three grenades.  Any more equipment would be unnecessary to the General.  The Demon attacked quickly, firing on Ekdo as he dashed back to cover.  

He dove behind a shattered tree trunk, yelling to the Human in his own language, "Lay down your primitive weapons, Heretic. Face me as a true warrior, in hand-to-hand combat!"

Ekdo did not wait for a response, instead he dashed from cover with his blade in hand. His powerful quadruped legs drove him harder than ever before . Ekdo wanted to engage the Demon in hand-to-hand, sure that his skill with the sword would be a match for the creature. He knew of Demon's supernatural strength and speed and was not going to be caught by surprise.  Ekdo leaped into cover in a small divot in the terrain nearer to the Demon, which was surrounded by broken and smoldering bark.

Due to Roy firing as Ekdo dashed back into cover, five regular round bullets hit Ekdo along his central body mass, depleting his shields only slightly, but still enough to make them glow. 

Ekdo has ten slots of energy in his shield, this action by Roy has depleted one slot. (9/10) If Ekdo avoids getting hit for at least two turns, this has a chance to recover.

Roy heard the creature's request and snorted audibly. Watching as it dove into cover Roy backed away, switching his MA5C to his left hand but holding the grenade launcher trigger, he fired a grenade from his launcher towards it. He aimed it in front of the creature, as to avoid it lunging at him. As he did this he used his free hand to pull a grenade from his strap and primed it by wrapping his left ring finger around it. He rolled it at the elite, he did this all while back away, giving him more space between the over zealos creature.

Coward! Ekdo thought as explosions went off around him.  After placing the sword on the magnetic latch of his leg plating, Ekdo drew a grenade before getting up and sprinting to more cover behind a large tree trunk, firing his Plasma Rifle along the way.  He threw the grenade after he had reached cover, attempting to get the blazing blue orb to stick to it's body.

This post has been edited after the judgement was contested. I will take this time to remind contestants to be more descriptive in what they do and what their surroundings are while they are posting. 


"The first grenade brings Ekdo's shields down to 70%, as he is in cover and has very, very strong energy shielding as a general. He then gets up and begins to sprint towards the tree, while simultaneously, Roy rolls the frag towards him. the tree blocks the concussion, but the resulting wooden and metal frag tear apart Ekdo's remaining shields, bloodying his arms and legs but not truly wounding him. Meanwhile, Ekdo's shots miss entirely because of the numerous factors throwing off aim, but the plasma grenade lands close enough to singe Roy's back, slightly weakening the armor plating but causing no injury or harm to the suit."

Roy stumbled forward slightly from the blast, he recentered his focus. He opened the underslung grenade launcher, pulling the grenade case out and slotting in another. He closed the grenade and fired at the tree using three round bursts, making sure not to waste all of his ammo as he waited for the elite.

I will not be beaten, Heretic!  Your unholy powers shall not stay the Will of the Gods!  Ekdo could feel the rage building up in him as his shield's were depleted.  He would not waiver in his attack.  Ekdo let his bloodlust overtake him, adrenaline rushing through his body as he activated his blade.  Ekdo dashed from cover, still wary of the human's grenade launcher and doing his best to roll away as he heard the thunk! of the weapon.  The General let his powerful legs drive him, firing back with his Plasma Rifle as he bolted in the unholy Human's direction with a mighty bellow.  He would not relent, no matter how grievous the wounds of this battle will be.

(Tin did not mean to say he fired a grenade, but since the first part of the post sounded like it, I am ruling that he fired a grenade first and then a few rounds of regular bullets afterwards.) 


The grenade first shot by Roy misses as Ekdo rolls from cover, only a few pieces of bark and rock scratching at his skin as he begins his mad dash toward the Spartan. Dust, flak, and other debris brought up by the small explosion partially mask the Elite at the beginning of his charge, causing bullets fired from Roy to land in the Sangheili's calf, but otherwise the ground. As the Sangheili continues his charge, Roy's last fired bullet pings into his chest armor.

Roy saw the creature rushing him, thinking fast he threw his MA5C at Ekdo, using the roll of his shoulder to help him reach behind his back, and grabbed his shotgun off with his left hand, firing the first shot with the shotgun only in his left, but then gripping it with both and pumping in another shell. He was using the standard 8 gauge 'hippo' rounds, the heavy ball bearings hopefully would help fight this creature.

Ekdo cut the primitive Human weapon in half, rolling passed the Demon, hopefully out of the way of the scattergun's spread. The 'Sausam swordsman attempted to pierce the green armor and cleave the Heretic's back open with a diagonal sword slice from lower right to upper left (Ekdo's sword hand being his left).

As Ekdo attempts his roll behind the Spartan, pellets from the first buck shot tear into his chest and arm, causing tissue damage and internal/external bleeding, but not enough to drop the monster lizard as it completed its roll. The damage was however enough to affect the arc of his sword as he attempted to swing toward the demon. The end of his energy sword glancing against the back of his Mjolnir plating, clearing the back green plate and sizzling the second layer beneath. Alarms would begin to buzz off on Roy's HUD altering him to the compromised section of armor plating toward his back, if the noise and heat did not do that already.

Roy's face crinkled as his back armor sizzled. Reactively he spun on his left heel and kicked with all of his force, using the momentum to turn him he would spin and fire at the giant warrior, hoping the closer range would help him.

The General could hear the satisfying sizzle of the Demon's metallic body after injuring him. Ekdo's attack came to an end, the Demon throwing his leg at the short Sangheili. Ekdo brought his sword down, still high in the air from his previous strike, towards the Human's leg. The slash came vertically as his blade hissed through the air, heavy with the weight of humidity.

Due to the nature and reaction time of Spartans, along with the close quarters and slower moving swing of Ekdo, it has been decided that Roy's kick slammed into Ekdo's left side before his sword met Roy's leg. The resulting blow slamming into the unshielded side of the Sangheili was enough to cause major destabilization

of the Sangheili's stance, as well as impact injuries brought on by the kick. Because of this, Ekdo would find himself falling to his right, his sword glancing against the plated calf of the Spartan II as he fell. The Spartan, using the momentum of his kick to turn toward the Sangheili is deemed effective. The following shot fired from Roy's shot gun would crash into the general mass of the warrior, leaving him heavily wounded and at the mercy of Roy. While an energy sword is still gripped tightly in Ekdo's hand, he can no longer get up to fight the Spartan.

Roy saw the creature fall back, the hole in it's armor gushing blood. He moved quickly, stepping one foot on the creature's sword hand, and the other on it's chest. He looked down on it, racking his shotgun, he unpolarized his face plate and afforded it a gaze into the hate filled eyes of his killer, before blasting into it's skull.

Pain filled Ekdo's body, and he knew what was coming. Here was his death, the death of a Warrior. This had always been The General's calling, to die on the battlefield as opposed to old age. Still, though...as soon as the Demon's foot had connected with him, he knew what was coming. His Plasma Rifle was thrown from his hand from the force of the Human's kick.

Ekdo could still hear the words of the Writ of Union playing in his head, the oath that he has kept in the name of the Covenant. All who walk the blessed path will find salvation, even in death. Ekdo lay bleeding, the words swirling around as he could feel his warm blood all over. The true devotee honors our name with actions, not words. As the end grew nearer and nearer...Ekdo could feel divine salvation, the blessing of the Gods, upon him.

The last words he didn't keep for himself, instead saying to them to the Human who know bore his face to the Sangheili General, "With this sacrament of blood, I journey into the divine beyond!" Ekdo showed no fear in the last moments of his life.
