It has come to my attention that a lot of the newer members want a high military rank.
So if thats the case with your own character your going to have to partake in this training mission.

A virtual battlefield simulation is about to begin, the opposition the Covenant will arrive in waves intent of capturing an 'asset' located in the small fortified village.
Colonal Arthur Mair is your superior officer, he will issue orders to you.
However as officers yourself, it is important that you command your own men.
As this is a virtual simulation, any casualtys will not be fatal.
However a mistake on your part could be fatal for your career hopes.

Brief for ODST Unit: Hellfire Comet
/1st Lt. Zaborowski

Trooper, although this is just a simulation, make no mistake you will be reprimanded for mistakes.

First Lieutenant Jakob Zaborowski, you and your unit: Hellfire Comet are dropping in and around a village that is vital to the war effort. The civilian’s are fleeing using the only major road that still survives, unfortunately the marines in the area are facing convoy after convoy of covenant armour and infantry.
This road run’s right through the village that you are soon to be arriving too.

We have a convoy of civilian’s heading towards this village.
It is vital that you and your unit hold this land, I will send you what support I can.

Garnet looked around, seeing his Commanding Officer dead along with the majority of his platoon.
A half destroyed Shadow spew smoke across the scene whilst the wounded cried out in pain.
Although this was just a drill, Garnet couldn’t help but feel like his squaddies where actually dead, the combat had seemed so real.
So very real.
The latest reinforcements where some ODSTs, hopefully they could hold what the marines seemed incapable of.

Jakob dropped from his HEV pod he hit the ground soon after he jumped out and looked around it was a medium sized town plenty of cover but it seemed it was already attacked he prepared his men.

(OOC sorry again but am I controlling a platoon or my squad?)

OOC: Your Squad, although my character: Colonol Mair may assign men to your command as and when he wants to.
Also that post is rather short, a mimimum should be four to five sentences. Not that we want an essay for each post.

For Instance the post could have been like this:

The Lieutenant had nodded to his men as they assembled in the briefing room. His troops knew that what was coming there way; a training mission like no other.
A simulation of battle, primarily to test their leader in battle; Jakob Zaborowski, it would also be a test of the ODST’s ability’s.
“We Deploy in HEV’s, we will still be in them during the whole of this battle simulation, I need not remind you that this is a fictional battle, however I have been warned that any misconduct will be dealt with severely”

The man stopped and looked at his men.
“That warning is applied not just to myself, but all of us, so take heed of it”

Jakob walked to his Pod and entered it. His helmet frosted over, loading the visual information for the simulation.
“Hellfire Comet, Simulation Begins… Now” came a voice over the intercom.

Bang…
The sound of each pod leaving it’s dock, freefalling to the ground.
From the window’s Jakob could see a small town, scattered with remnants from a bloody battle that had been unkind to both sides.

The Four Pod’s containing what was left of the squad, hurtled towards the ground at a colossal speed. A nervous was issued from Ellington as they moved ever closer to their landing zone.
“Seems like the marines took a hell of a beating” commenting the veteran of the squad; Sgt. Numan, wondering how many of the survivors would need the help of his medical expertise.
“But they’ve held it and so must we, with whoever remains down there” commented the Lieutenant as he looked to the ground.
Almost there.
He closed his eyes and prayed as…
BANG.

A few moments past, Jakob pushed a button and the door was flung off the HEV. He grabbed his weapons and moved outwards, the sight that greeted his eyes was one of devastation.
How could anyone have survived this fight, the bodies of enemy and ally’s alike littered the place answering the question that perhaps no one had.
“Team, Status?” He asked.
“Sir, I’ve got the boy’s with me” answered Numan “Coming to you” he added.
Lt. Zabowski moved onwards to the village’s centre, where he hoped to find the remnants of the military that would aide him in his current objective.

Jakob walked into the town center with two ODSTs he looked around there were injured everywhere he knew this time he had really dropped into hell. "Numan bring all troops to town center I have a change of plans." Jakob said staring at the bodys there were so many that he was on the brink of freaking out like Ellington always did he quickly calmed himself down.

"Roger that sir" Replied Numan he heard Numan shouting to his own men and start talking to other teams on the com set. In about five minutes everyone was there Jakob sat on the blood stained fountain in the middle of the square. "Men im afraid our previous plans for this mission have gone to hell along with this town. There are more wounded then expected and seeing the dammage to these buildings we are going to have to change plans." He looked at the eleven teams under his command.

Team zero was a infantry team led by himself squad one was a sniper team led by Nickter he saw his Cpl's familiar face no helmet just military grade goggles. He saw Numan and his squad of medics squad 2 and he saw Ellington the only one not commanding. He was on squad three a demolitions squad led by 2nd LT. Orwellapan. Squad four was heavy weapons and was led by a man named Sgt. Elmore. And the rest squad five, six, seven, eight, nine, and ten was infantry. Led by men named Sgt. Jones, Sgt. Harald, Second LT. Kruelar, Cpl. Burinham, and Sgt. Hevley all in order by team.

"O.K I want squad nine and ten to sweep the village execute all enemies and make sure were safe here for now. Squad two and eight look for allied survivors if any are on brink of death try your best to heal them any wounded in no imediate danger should have to wait I want all wounded to be brought though that building." Said Jakob pointing at a hollowed out hotel.

Jakob looked around for a tower a church, apartment or anything high enough he looked and saw a very large apartment there was a boarded up window on the top floor and smoke coming from the floor below could conceal anyone up there. "Squad one and six I want you guys there if the smoke is to thick to see switch to thermal squad five protect them." Jakob said pointing at the window.

Jakob looked around and saw a mall the roof had a good view but wasnt to far off the ground
Jakob pointed at it "ok that will be H.Q I want squad three and seven gaurding it and squad four on the roof of the mall." Jakob sat there "SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR MOOOVE OUT!" Yelled Jakob all the soldiers started sprinting to there stations he walked toward the mall.

Thanks Cracker and Dusty for the offer but this thread is just for officers to train up, if you want a character to have rank though feel free to try it out.

Amha, this isn't a covenant training RP, so thats the reason I've deleated your post, had you wanted to ask first or requested a covenant equivelant then you would have had an answer before putting in all that effort.

Also I can see why you think it's unfair to not have a covenant officer rp, but you'll just have to earn rank in the main rp, I'm not going to run a covenant one as I don't really understand the covenant formation and rankings.
So sorry, but if you'd read the rest of the posts you would have seen it was a UNSC Training Simulation.

The Marines that had been stationed at the Village had not been overly intelligent about how they had fought.
Instead of deploying snipers across the landscape, they had set up machine gun posts to mow down the enemy. However the Covenant Convoy had comprised of one Bahnshee, four Shadows, two Ghosts and a further two infantry groups.

Carnage had ensued, ultimately the Marines had won with their sheer brute determination. However they had lost twenty six men, around half injured, the rest dead.
Sgt. Garnet looked over to the newly arrived ODSTs, he had watched with dread as they fell, he didn't mind the troopers and their eliteist jokes. However it made him feel bad, feel like the marines had failed.
Which they had.

He ran up over to what seemed to be the leading officer and saluted him. "Sir, me and a few others where wondering if we could help out? Move the wounded or something?"
Garnet reliased that this didn't involve combat and so, brought his Battle Rifle up and smiled "Something involving this, Perhaps?"

As in losing fighting capabilitys, they've lost 26 able fighters, half being wounded, I reliase that isn't worded very well but, meh. - Max

Jakob looked a marine had ran up and and asked for orders. He stood there for a bit then he spoke "Ok I want you to rally up any surviving marines and help my ODSTs bring wounded to that building." Said Jakob pointing at the hotel he looked at the marine again he looked disapointed probably hoping to fight. "And when your done rally up in the square dont worry your be doing more then moving bodies."

The marine nodded and went off to find other survivors who would move the wounded into the building.

A message from UNSC Colonel Mair came through:
“Lieutenant Zaborowski, I need an assessment on the situatuion there, what do you require to hold off the covenant?” asked Mair over the radio.

Meanwhile a few clicks to the south of the village a column consisting of three Wraiths, two Shadows and five infantry squads of covenant where making their way towards the village. Intent on crushing the few marines that had survived their predecessors assault and then slaying the civilians that would be making their way towards the village.

Jakob watched the marine walk off. Nearly immediatley after a fizzy message came through his com “Lieutenant Zaborowski, I need an assessment on the situatuion there, what do you require to hold off the covenant?” it was his commanding officer colonel Authur Mair.
"Well it's not to good sir the majority of the marines are dead or wounded I have the able aiding my marines mow ill need by the looks of the marks on the ground more rockets and I know this may seem like much for a small village but two pelicans one for evac of wounded and one for scouting and combat support ill also ne...."
A ODST by the name of sanchez ran up to him. "Sir our long range scanners and scopes have detected something a few clicks south it's a convoy and although were not exactly sure we believe it consists of three Wraiths, two Shadows and five infantry squads of covenant sir!"
"O.k trooper go and regroup with your team" the soldier left Jakob talked into the com again
"Colonel sir this may seem over my budget here but im also going to need two scorpions and drivers for both I repeat two scorpions and drivers for both over."

Mair recieved the request.
"I hear you Trooper, Two Scorpions is pushing it, I can send six Rockets with Ammo and one Scorpion in for you, better than nothing"

The enemy where nearing the village, slowly but surely.
The Wraiths getting into their positions for firing.

"I hear you Trooper, Two Scorpions is pushing it, I can send six Rockets with Ammo and one Scorpion in for you, better than nothing"
"Yes sir thank you sir." Awnsered Jakob turning off his com "God damnit" Jakob whispered
Sanchez ran back "Sir, the wraiths have stopped there getting into fireing position!"
"What's our progress on removal of the wounded private?"
"About 67% sir"
"Ok I want everyone to get the rest of the wounded into any safe locations they can I want teams 3 and 4 ready to move out have them meat me in the mall and Sanchez ill need you and team 10 to run this message to everyone else got it?"
"I read you loud and clear sir" said Sanchez running back to his squad

As the Wraiths started their deadly bombardment, the Shadows moved onwards.
The infantry where advancing round on the left of the village whilst the Shadows took the right, attacking on three fronts should be enough to panic any opposition.
Especially one that was meant to be near death.

According to Intel, the Covenant force was to face the surviving marines and no one else.
However Drop Pod's littered the scene.
It would seem that this easy fight was to have a little resistance. So be it.
The Humans would be dead soon enough.

[Jakob]

Jakob watched the mortar fall onto the city he saw some sprinting ODSTS nearly get blasted and run to the saftey of a building. It all reminded Jakob of the battle of Berlin, the buildings being torn apart by mortar, the men desperate to get out of the line of fire. Thinking of that made Jakob think of the odds before he could he blanked his mind now wasn't a time for odds.

He watched squad 8 battle it out with four grunts and a elite. Perfect. "Squad 1 open fire brutes before elites, elites before jackals, jackals before grunts." Jakob watched sniper and battle rifles fire from a apartment quickly the elite attacking squad 8 dropped battle rifles took out the grunts. "Battle rifle for grunts and jackals sniper for everything else!" He yelled he watched Squads 3 and 4 move into the mall he walked downstairs. "OK let's walk to the courtyard shall we?" Jakob said they all stopped at the front of the mall he walked with them. Jakob looked at his belt he took out a red smoke grenade and dropped it in front of them. In one minute a pelican landed dropping a scorpion and a driver. Two crewmen out with crates of rockets and dropped at there feet mumbling about the weight and walked back in and flew away.

"Anyone who doesnt have a SPNKR get one." Shouted Jakob adding emphasis a wraith hit the roof of the mall behind them pebbles rained down. Jakob turned on his command com Jakob did the math in his head six ODSTS per squad or team Scorpions hold up to 10 people there is already one in there so 9 of both 3 and 4s ODSTs can fit in there leaving 3 "Command one last request im going to need a warthog please respond."

Mair heard the request and replied after considering it.
"Zaborowski, I haven't got any vehicles left to deploy to you son" he paused, letting this information sink in for the officer.
"What I can tell you is that there are existing vehicles around the town, some are civilian others are UNSC"

Garnet and the rest of the Marine Contingent had after moving the wounded, set up a tempory roadblock, they knew that the Covenant would arrive before that elusive convoy and try to attack the humans through flanking them.
Hence the roadblock.
However, the Marines had not reckonned on Shadows.

The Lead one had charged straight into the roadblock and had received a lot of fire from some nearby troopers with rockets.
However it's turret had opened fire upon those manning the roadblock, slaying the men where they stood.

Garnet had recieved a round to his chest, the intense heat had pushed him to the ground and was singing his midriff. "AHHHHH!" he screamed as he unbuckled his armour to try and escape the heat.
His rifle had been abandoned, his fighting was over, now that the pain had begun.
Tempory relieve came as the armour fell off, then one of the Drivers of the Shadows had dismounted and ran an energy sword through the Marine Sergeant.

Garnet Screamed in pain, before laying silent and motionless. He was Dead.

Jakob listened, suprised he had not thought of that
"O.k men ill bring you all to the town square were walkin" Jakob keyed his com to his squad
"Im getting out of here for a few minutes if I dont come back you boys know what to do."
Jakob led the tank to the town square there was a warthog crashed into a building still functional. "Comandeer that hog pedestrians" said Jakob pointing at it. The ODSTS did as told Jakob watched them all get on. Down a street three ODSTS and two marines were running from something. One ODST got lit by plasma fire screamed and fell it was Sanchez.
Quickly a shadow followed the survivors "FIRE!" Yelled Jakob. the Scorpions main turret turned and shot the missle meant to hit the middle was to far right and hit the driver seat the shadow stopped. The turret gunner turned about to fire quickly two rockets lashed out from his ODSTS and hit the Shadow witch in turn exploded. "OK I want you all to move to those Wraiths together once your about to get into there line of site I want the hog to speed up infront of one of the Wraiths close enough so none will shoot you you will kill the turret gunners on the Wraiths the scorpion will then come up and shoot the wraiths farthest from you and work towards once you are in firing range drive away and if you have time fafter shooting the gunners get behind em and shoot them were they got no armor once finished come back here imediatley." The ODSTS nodded and drove off.

OOC: Yeah, four days without a post, kinda lost the plot tbh!
Just a few things that need work, stop refering to your men in numbered teams, a Leiutanant will command a platoon of around 8-12 men and therefore would have for instance an Assualt Team, Fire Team and Sniping Element.
Each would have a leader possibly a Corporal or at the least a Private First Class.

Also try and break up the text, no one reads a block of text with no spaces, after a dramatic scene leave a line, or after an order/ conversation.


Post:

The Lead Shadow that had crashed into the barrier had exploded, killing those around it.
The Passengers on the fellow Shadows quickly disembarked and moved into nearby houses and other cover to begin firing at the men.

The Wraiths where bombarding the town at random co-ordinates, surely it would hit something of importance soon, or else it would just wreck everything in it's wake.

"ETA on Civilian Convoy, Sixteen Minutes" broadcasted a communications officer to the survivng ODST's and Marines.

Jakob watched the Scorpion leave praying that they would return victors. Finnaly he keyed his com ""All snipers we have a shadow to take care of take it out then go back to what you were doing." He told them.

Private Austin Cimpeli

Austin was watching from shotgun on the warthog. He thought of the plan that the LT. Gave them. The LT. Was either smart or completley phyco he joked in his mind.
Before he knew it the wraiths were getting larger quickly. He looked at the SPNKR at his feet and picked it up.
Soon the Wraiths turret gunner started smoking them with plasma. The driver a woman named Brooke swerved and started attempting to dodge it. It worked just barley.
He held his rocket launcher to keep it from flying out of his hands.

The turret gunner fired at his oposite on the Wraith Austin watched some of the bullets be vaporized by plasma and many not. The hostiles shields flared and failed but he would still kill the man on the hogs turret. So he shot his rocket witch hit the plasma turret gunner killing him instantly. And soon they were close enough that the Wraith would not fire soon the scorpion came and after five minutes all the wraiths were destroyed. "Faster then I thought" said Brooke.

Austin looked around the scorpion had lost three men due to a infantry ambush and the turret gunner of his hog was also killed in the ambush. The marines lost the battle and as long as I have a say we wont he thought.

Jakob heard his sniper team report a dead shadow he thought to himself Ok the convoy will be here in five minutes "Whats our status on the covenant?" Yelled Jakob into his com a private awnsered "Sir wraiths destroyed but we got four K.I.A's"
"Shadows destroyed infantry cooling down but is still hot!" Yelled Nicter

Post:

One Squad from a Shadow had sprinted towards the make-shift ward that housed the injured. The leading Elite had activated his energy sword, loudly proclaiming that it would silence all of the humans it came across.

The Wraiths had been destroyed in a suprisingly successful ambush. All of the drivers and gunners lay dead.

The only real enemy presance where the scattered infantry that had set up in some of the buildings, some firing at the humans, others lay in wait or else deployed sniping Jackals that moved into hidden positions and fired.

Private Natalie Emans

Natalie looked through the scope of her sniper rifle. Due to a shadow getting it's men out there were three squads of infantry left. Her commander Nickter have gotten orders from the LT. To snipe the remaining shadow. That was already done
So she resumed killing elites. She searched and found the building for wounded about five seconds ago she heard a blood curtling scream from inside. She saw a Covenant elite with a sword halfway in a wounded marine. From inside some ODSTS attempted to kill it but a second Elite kept them down.

She fired and the Squid killing the wounded lost half its face. The other turned and screamed in anger at his fallen brother. In five seconds a bullet whized through his still open mouth. The ODSTS in the building finished off the grunts. She peered inside. Three of the wounded were killed Covie bastards she thought.

Lieutanet Jakob Zaborowski

Jakob heard Numan speak into his com "One squad down two to go!"
"All infantry both ODST and Marine clear out the buildings we got em and Sniper teams shoot any hostile you see pop its head out snipers first." Said Jakob into his com
"Sir Convoy entering the town now." Said a ODST he had apointed as his temporary assistant.

The Civillian Convoy had finally reached the town, it was being led by two ramshackled and war damaged tanks, behind which a combonation of military vehicles and civilian modes of transports.
The weary passengers where glad at the sight of the village, but upon seeing some fighting, the column halted.

"Lt. Zaborowski, I'm the convoy column leader, What would you have me do?" radioed the driver of the lead tank.

[Jakob]

Jakob watched the convoy enter the town with his helmet attatched binoculars. A message came in asking what there orders were.
"Move to the town center and shoot any covenant you find but try to keep all civilians in cover." Said Jakob
"one squad to go sniper nest clear" said a corprol Jakob set his com to command "Sir when will the evac be here?"

Mair broadcasted over the radio to Zaborowski.
"Transport is on it's way, we have Nine Pelicans arriving to take all personal and civilians away, congratulations Jakob, you've done well"

The battlefield melted away from the ODST visors, they where still in thier pods nestled safely in their bays. The battle had just been a simulation.
Lt. Jakob Zaborowski stood proudly, he had past the test and could keep his rank.
At least until he really screwed up.

OOC: Congrats matey, You've earnt the right to post as this character in the Main Mission, but be warned, officers have to be concise in their postings with clear structure and good english, otherwise it's demotion timE!!!
