This is a short backstory to my character, Zaxax, the Unggoy Ultra. It will be his own story and sort of a bio, but much longer and more in detail. Please post below with any thoughts or suggestions you have about it.
Dadab and Gadad smiled at their newborn child, Zaxax. Zaxax was a male, and he looked very happy. His eyes were dark green, and his skin was gray-brown. His parents were very happy to have him, but their happiness was short lived.
Zaxax was playing a game of hunting rock with his two friends, Yadab and Pradad. He was only four at the time, and had just learned how to play. He spoke exceptionally well, and was quite intelligent for an Unggoy. He was winning at the time, when a group of Sangheili came to his homeworld. They were drafting others into the military. Zaxax and his friends gaped at the Sangheili, as they had never seen them before. Many of the older Unggoy hid, but to no avail. The Sangheili found them, and drafted them. The Sangheili soon came to Dadab and Gadad, and they were drafted as well. They pleaded to the Sangheili not to take them, but they were taken on the ship, and Zaxax never saw them again.
He was in shock for the first few days, but he soon got over it. He never cried, but he was very sad. He was quickly distracted with his enrollment into school, however, in which he did quite well. He was one of the best students in the school, and was very proud of it. But one day he attacked another Unggoy named Sayad. The Unggoy had taunted Zaxax repeatedly over many things, including the drafting of his parents. Zaxax attacked him, swinging a punch right for his face. The Unggoy did not expect this sudden attack, and took the hit directly in the nose, in which it immediately began to bleed. The Unggoy then attacked him back, swinging hard. They traded blows until Zaxax had him pinned on the ground, beating him until he pleaded for mercy. They were both beaten quite bad and needed medical attention. The two Unggoy were given first aid, and later became good friends.
Zaxax had just turned 13 when the Sangheili came again. This time, instead of drafting for the army, they needed workers. The Sangheili took Zaxax, Sayad, Yadab, Pradad, and many other Unggoy from Balaho. Zaxax went with the Sangheili very willingly, as he was eager to explore someplace new. He was taken to High Charity, and his first assignment was to polish and clean a throne for a member of the high council. Zaxax immediately went to work, and he did the task quickly and effectively. When the Sangheili came back the throne looked just like new. Zaxax was rewarded with a few hours of free time, then given his next task. This continued with the Sangheili rewarding him much, until he was given the task of carrying weapons crates to a ship. Zaxax was very bad at this, and dropped them many times. He was beat by the Sangheili, and sent back to his old tasks.
Zaxax was polishing a Sangheili combat harness when they came. A Sangheili minor and two Unggoy majors. They needed to recruit more Unggoy minors to their lance, and Zaxax was the first on their list. "Come with me." The Sangheili said. He took Zaxax and they soon found two other Unggoy, and they left. Zaxax and the other Unggoy were fitted with an Orange minor suit, and given a plasma pistol. The Unggoy were assigned to the minor's lance, and sent into battle.
In Zaxax's first battle against the Heretics he showed great potential. One of the things Zaxax had that few Unggoy had was intelligence, and he rarely ever got wounded in battle. He was a great shot with a plasma pistol, and he strategically placed grenades to kill the enemy as well. The Sangheili in charge was very impressed with Zaxax, but he didn't show it. Zaxax fought many warriors, and he and his lance killed every one of them.
Zaxax and his lance rode to the surface in their phantom. They had just discovered the new species, called humans, and were prepared to slaughter them. When they landed Zaxax killed many of the humans. He showed extreme bloodlust, and slaughtered anything that wasn't of Covenant origin, humans, pets, women, children. The other members of his team did the same, and eventually they came upon a group of soldiers attempting to fight back. The lance attacked, and there was only one left when Zaxax took three rounds to the chest from his SMG. Zaxax fell to the ground and moaned, the pain horrible. The soldier prepared for a killshot when the lance leader shot him in the face three times with his plasma rifle, killing him. "Three for three!" Zaxax coughed, and spat out blood, before blacking out.
When Zaxax awoke he was mostly healed, his wounds bandaged and the bullets removed. He was promoted to major for his kills and honor in combat, and he was given a crimson set of armor to wear. He then was sent back into battle, participating in the purge of the human race which the Covenant oh so desired.
Zaxax and his lance were deployed to the planet's surface, prepared to destroy the human's presence, and then the planet, just like they had done to many before it. Zaxax and his lance landed, and they instantly began to seek out the enemy. They fought many humans, slaughtering them, whether they were soldier or not. Then the lance was engaged in a firefight with a warthog. The lance fired at the warthog, but the other Unggoy were quickly killed. The Sangheili minor then shot the passenger out of his seat before being killed himself. Zaxax went into a state of panic, and not knowing what to do, threw a grenade at the warthog and leaped behind a rock and curled into a ball. The grenade exploded, instantly killing the driver, and flipping the warthog, killing the gunner as well.
Zaxax stood and smelled the air, and couldn't smell any humans anywhere. He began to walk in a random direction, his whole lance gone, until he found an ODST dragging a marine out of a combat zone. Zaxax threw a grenade at the ODST, sticking him, then shot the marine in the face three times, killing him. Both humans were dead, and Zaxax walked towards the combat zone and joined the fight, helping the other Covenant soldiers kill the humans, then they were retrieved from the planet's surface and it was glassed. Not long after Zaxax was promoted to an Ultra, and he was given silver armor with a full facemask, and a lance that consisted of four Unggoy, a major, a heavy, and two minors.
Balaho, 2496
