His father was a medic in the German army during world war II. The US has enough planes and well trained pilots to cover the sun in a few minutes. In order to alleviate that I made it so that Russia had the massive industrial surge after the Senkaku event so that most of Russia's tech is only slightly behind that of the US. If not than Russia would have its ass handed to itself in a minute.
