Roight, the RP thread is going to come up after this, this is for character sign ups. The factions are:
(Coalition) England: British Royal Marines, British Royal Air Force. USA: US Marine Core, US Army Paratroopers (HALO jump). France: Marine nationale, Armée de Terre, Armée de l'Air (Commando units, drop via HALO) Germany: Bundeswehr Joint Medical Service, German Army. It should be noted that the Germans make the majority of Coalition troops. This is on their soil and England, France and the US are under attack as well. The rest of the support is there but it is minimal.
(Union) Russia: Russian Airborne Troops, Russian Ground Forces Poland: Polish Land Forces, Polish Air Force, Polish Special Forces It should be noted that there are tons of Polish troops (their city) and Russian troops are there in less number, so the same rule as above should be noted.
Whether you are in a tank, plane, jeep or whatever, the only soldiers already in the city is the Polish. They also have tons of AA guns and AT guns prepared along with the rest of their weaponry. So be ready.
Format: Name: Faction (country): Branch: Bio: NPCs (they do not need descriptions, just names is fine, no one is a lone wolf in this RP): Profiles can be very short, just try to put a little effort in them please.

Just checking... USA factions are ONLY Marines and paratroopers, right? Well the Marines had to get to Poland somehow, so is it too unreasonable to assume there's a few Navy ships in the Baltic Sea that can send support aircraft? AKA me?

The marines were sent to London and then shipped to Germany via British ship. You can be a Brit with a ship but there will not be much RP unless you want to launch rockets from the coast. Or you can force me to tack on another paragraph to the RP.

Sorry, I didn't mean I want to be Navy. I meant I want to be a US Marine aviator, and I need a ship to deploy from.
How about this... The small American battle group that brought the Marines to London is still in the English Channel because the Union fleet invading France is blocking the way to the German/Polish coast. So to support their Marines, they simply send in aircraft with external fuel tanks? And if nessesary, they could always do a mid-air refueling with Brittish tankers. Actually, that could be really fun to RP!

Well, right now the Brit fleet is unable to get back to England because the Russkies are blocking the way (they went around Europe and Asia, getting resupplied at friendly ports in Asia and Africa) so the fleet is trapped in the area and have agreed to give naval support once infantry clear any AS weapons.
The RP starts on the ships for Yanks with tanks and Brits with ships, but German with armanments and Franks helpin' Yank's start out on the border in APC's (less they are dropping, than they are at a military base a few klicks from the border) there are also Jerries and Franko's on the airfield ready in heli's.
Then we do a massive scene where we are either pushing through via heli, plane or APC.
Pilots are permitted.

Name: Kapitan Aleksander Wojcik Faction (country): Poland Branch: Polish Air Force Bio: Aleksander Wojcik was actually born in Russia, but his parents moved to Poland when he was but a month old. He considers himself Polish, as he has had Polish parents and has lived in Poland for his entire life save a few weeks, and is loyal to his country to the point of joining the Siły Powietrzne Rzeczypospolitej Polskiej, or the Air Force of the Polish Republic. Having had enough experience to land him the rank of Captain, he is capable at his duty, although he has not yet engaged in any actual, full-on war campaigns. NPCs (they do not need descriptions, just names is fine, no one is a lone wolf in this RP):
Porucznik (1st Lieutenant) Stanislaw Lem Podporucznik (2nd Lieutenant) Adri Nowak Podporucznik Andrezj Zelenski Podporucznik Kaziemierz Khaludski Podporucznik Kryztof Druig
As Poland is now apparently allied with Russia, these guys will be using the Mikoyan MiG-29 plane instead of ol' American Lockheed Martin?
(Note: I know almost nothing about the Polish military. That up there was Wikipedia talking.)

With the sudden militarization of Russia, they remade most of their weapons so they are on par with Yankee ones. They have about twice the industrial strength than the US which is making up for their late start and are more than happy to hand out weapons to Poland.
It should be noted (I fucking love saying that) that Poland did not wish to join Russia but was heavily threatened which was well known. Most of the military despise the Russkies so you should probably not trust Russian soldiers and such in the RP.

Gotcha.
Also, another question: spacecraft.
With the US's space program now down the drain, and with Russia handling most of the satellite market, how does the wireless communication/global positioning/military intelligence satellite photography/fat American death ray beam landscape (or spacescape) looking?

What? This happens a year later, the space program only really meant that you will not suddenly be attacked by the US moon based laser beams. The US military is still actively developing and using sattelites more so than any other nation.

Name: 2nd Lieutenant Ryan “Zeus” White (callsign Gunslinger 2-3) Faction (country): Coalition (America) Branch: US Marine Corps Bio: Ryan White is a very focused and intelligent young man. Growing up under strict parents, he’d been drilled from a young age to be studious and scholarly. His favorite escape from the rigors of study were roller coasters, which eventually drove him to peruse a career as a fighter jet pilot due to the similar feeling of adrenaline and speed. To spite his parents, who forbade anything and everything military, he chose to enlist in the Marine Corps to prove he could be tough as well as smart. He put his academic skills to great use in the acquisition of the bachelor’s degree needed to gain an officer’s commission, and they also served him well in the extremely demanding competition for flight school after surviving boot camp. Fully expecting to fly the Marines’ iconic AV-8B Harrier jump jet, an aircraft notorious for being difficult to handle, he was determined to study that much harder.
However, upon graduating flight school his outstanding academic record and strong work ethic led his superiors to select him to pilot the new F-35B Lightning II being developed as part of a program to replace the aging Harrier. After a couple of years working with the project, he acquired the nickname “Zeus” as a reference to his natural skill at “using the Lightning”. Currently the F-35 program is still in its infancy, but with the sudden outbreak of war it has been rapidly accelerated. Ryan and his flight are among the first aviators to fly the F-35 in combat.
NPCs: Gunslinger Flight Cpt. Nick Jones (Gunslinger 2-0) 1st Lt. Michel Bradley (Gunslinger 2-1) 2nd Lt. Josh Grunder (Gunslinger 2-4)
