A Gentleman's Game

[Dutch]

There Dutch stood. On the plain of battle, the ancient and scarred land that had seen the fury of a thousand suns poured out onto it. A dome, tem miles in diameter surrounded the shattered land, softly humming, preventing any would-be cowards from fleeing fate.

Dutch knelt, watching and waiting for his rival’s appearance. Glistening armor encased him head to toe, giving him an almost reptilian look. A variety of weapons hung off him, including an odd-looking rifle which had never been seen before. His Sword of the Guardians hung at his belt, waiting to be activated. He could feel the power flowing through him, and not just the power off the Guardians, but powers of other realms.

“Come Monkey, come and meet destiny!”

Again. Again with Dutch feeling brave. Again with Dutch going out of his league. Again with the, "Defeat you Monkey!". Again. Monkey walked out into the light with his sword at his side... Again.

"Again? Really? How many times have we done this? How many more times do I need to make you literally eat the dirt I am walking on before you get the message? Seriously!", Monkey shouted, "You know what? Screw it. I'm not playing with you."

With that Monkey vanished and appeared above Dutch with both hands a glow.

"Chaos Barrage!"

With that, hundreds of black orbs shot from Monkey's fists as they plummeted towards Dutch.

[Dutch]

Dutch smiled quaintly.

"The mind is indeed the first to go, the last time you properly fought me was when Connor held this form, and he properly handed you your ass on a platter!" Monkey sent a chaos barrage at him, black orbs spiraled towards the Guardian. With a hiss of energy, the Sword of The Guardians snapped to life, a burning blade of white energy. Dutch tapped the ground ever-so lightly. "I call for Order." Order, the polar opposite of Chaos. White flashed from the ground in brilliant streaks, hitting the incoming chaos dead-on. There was a tremendous flash of light which vanished to show nothing, no chaos.

Dutch smiled elegantly. "You and your chaos monkey, come and try something a little more new."

Monkey sighed at Dutch's claim. Before long there was a chain pertruding up Monkey's arm.

"You know, I'm not the only one who is annoyed by your constant failures and claims. Why is it the meak worms like you always try to crawl their way up the food chain. Stay in your place you miserable wretch!", Royal Monkey declared before a chain swung around Dutch.

[Dutch]

Dutch chuckled at Monkey's rantings.

"My dear chap, I can assure you I never was at the bottom, on this forum I have out-performed you quite well in fact." Raising a dismal eye, Dutch lazily raised his sword up as the chains snaked down around him, letting them cut in two. Then stepping forward, he began to walk into the sky, quite easily ascending to Monkey's height. "And please, you aren't going to pull the 'multiple monkey' thing again are you? It's really quite tiresome." He raised his hands out wide, one hefting the odd rifle at Monkey. "Try something new."

There was no sound as it fired, but an odd-looking white bolt zeroed in on Monkey. Compressed in a vacuum-sealed shell, was a precious small amount of antimatter. Once it collided with Monkey, or anything, the energy released would be purely destructive.

"New you say? I've yet to see you beat me in my own game.", Monkey said as he launched himself to the left to avoid the energy, "And if you want to see a change in pace, push me so I actually need to do so."

With this, Monkey launched two more chains at Dutch and began to swing them like whips. Either one hitting Dutch would either hit him or bind him, either worked.

[Dutch]

"Chains, really Monkey? Chains?" Sword flashing in a blur, the ends of the chains were whopped off and fell smoking to the ground below. Pulling a long cigar from his armor, Dutch bit into it and lit up. Puffing formally, he pulled another out of his pocket and tossed it to monkey. "Care for a Cuban cigar?"

"Nah, smoking isn't much my thing. I do appreciate the gesture though.", Monkey said before energy enveloped him, "So how about we just get to the fun part?"

As this was said, the energy let off to reveal the horns and pale skin of Chaos Beast Monkey. It looked at Dutch with piercing yellow eyes. It let out a low snarl before vanishing to appear above Dutch.

"Chaos Blast!"

Enery shot from Monkey's horns and began to spread out as it plummeted towards Dutch. As the energy obscured the view between them, Monkey moved along the blast and behind the spot where Dutch was. He quickly drew his sword and waited for Dutch to react.

[Dutch]

Regardless of Monkey's light show, Dutch could see fine. His helmet had a mass detector, and it simply displayed masses around him. So he was perfectly aware of Monkey sneaking behind him while one of his alter-forms flung a Chaos attack at him.

"I call for ORDER." Dutch shouted. Light blazed from his sword and enveloped the chaos blast, and Chaos Beast Monkey. Instants later Dutch dropped ten feet while swinging his blade up around behind him to where Monkey was hiding.

Chaos Beast Monkey was caught by surprise and barely managed to bring his sword up. The force from Dutch's blade flung Monkey into a wall.

He's kicking our ass!

"I know, but I really don't want to try against him.", Monkey murmured.

Dammit just use it! Give him a reason to piss himself!

"FINE THEN!", Monkey roared as the energy dissipated from his form and revealed his old form and stabbed his blade into the groun, "You want me to use something new? Then here you go! Level 2 Release!"

Suddenly, a black circle spawned on the ground and engulfed Monkey as his power limiters vanished. The energy shot into the sky and dissipated leaving Monkey surrounded in steam.

"Don't blink."

Suddenly, Monkey vanished and reappeared behind Dutch.

"You'll miss it."

With that, Monkey released a barrage of punches at Dutch's back trying to send him into the ground.

[Dutch]

Dutch spun back at Monkey's sudden explosion of power, a small grin creasing his lips. THIS was the Monkey he knew. Monkey suddenly vanished, and Dutch just knew he was about be be smacked in the back. His answer was answered as he turned to receive a crushing blow to the side.

He reacted immediately, swinging his sword in deadly patterns at Monkey, all the while moving backwards. Blistering white energy blazed from his open palm, stabbing into Monkey.

Monkey launched back as the energy stabbed into his shoulder. He glanced at the wound before realizing it was shallow and staring at Dutch. He put a hand to his face and energy slowly gathered.

"Level 2 Chaos, Madness."

With that, a mask unlike the others formed on Monkey's face. Half of it was a face that smirked and the other was a face that seethed with rage. Monkey's eyes peered from each side and at Dutch.

"Dutch, it fun, but this ends here.", Monkey spoke in a cold voice, "Manic Roundhouse."

With that, Monkey vanished and reappeared in four places at once. Each Monkey attacked Dutch in a different way. One went to kick while another went to punch, another swung a blade and a third was firing a blast of energy. Each had the intent of hitting him all at once.

[Dutch]

Perfect. Monkey's was up and at 'im now. Perfect.

Dutch stood perfectly still as all the Monkey's attacked him, as the combined energy of a dozen suns was fired at him. He smiled. He'd learned something from the X-men. Now he unveiled his master power, one he'd worked hard at learning.

All the energy, all the attacks collided with him at once. And then there was a brilliant flash.

All the energy, the kinetic energy in the melee attacks and the raw power in the energy attack, all of it was gathered into Dutch's palm. All of it flowed, compiling and building up until the attacks were spent and the energy was channeled. The blades, fists and feet slid off uselessly like wet noodles as their kinetic force was absorbed into the brilliant orb of light in Dutch's palm.

Dutch looked up and grinned and Monkey.

"You're right, it was fun and it does end here. Ciao." Then he released the combined energy in one titanic blast, one that consumed the entire Arena. Dutch had vanished, using his suit's one-time use only stasis mode to enter a a bubble where time ceased to move. The sheer power outside raged, while Dutch waited for it to die out before coming out of stasis.

Monkey saw the energy build and the mask gave way. He held his blad with both hand and energy gathered once more.

"Level 2 Royal, Ace"

With that, an armor layered over Monkey and his blade in energy form. He focused the energy from the blade into the armor and strengthened it to withstand the blast. After the blast, Monkey stood with the armor slowing seeping into the blade.

"Ultima Slash."

With that, Monkey swung the now massive blade upward and energy shot out as a massive sword. Either Dutch would block and be sliced or dodge only to have Monkey swing again. It was more of how he wanted to die, and less how he planned to live.

[Dutch]

Dutch came out of stasis just as a blade swung at him. So he dropped thirty feed, spun around, and poured energy out of his palm at monkey while drawing his sword with the free hand.

Monkey brought the blade up and used it as a shield from the attack. He then dashed foward at the man as the blade pulsated.

"Chaos Omni Strash!"

With that the blade increased in size even further as Monkey swung the blade repeatedly. Each time, a massive wave of energy would shoot from the blade and at Dutch. Monkey then held the sword in a reverse grip and dashed at Dutch.

"This next one finishes it."

[Dutch]

Dutch shook his head. Monkey would never learn. The chaos energy boiled and writhed as it welled up to strike him down. Dutch held up his blade before him.

"I call for calm, I call for peace, I call for ORDER." Blazing white power leaped forth from him, meeting Monkey's attack in a brilliant flash that made both of them shield there eyes. It dissipated, leaving nothing in its place. Nothing but Monkey charging at him. Dutch waited until he was nearly on him, and then he did a three-sixty degree turn. Not a back-flip over Monkey, but rather a flip beneath him. Flipping just beneath Monkey, he swung up behind him and twisted around, swinging his blade at Monkey's exposed back.

Monkey launched himself up out of the blades path and energy cloaked him. Two yellow eyes pierced the darkness and stared at Dutch.

"Level 2 Beast, Leviathan!"

The energy faded to reveal a creature barely similar to human form.



"This is the end."

The creature launched itself in various directions, launching itself off the colliseum walls and floor before jumping at Dutch from the floor and trying to slash at him with a massive claw.

[Dutch]

Always bigger and better with Monkey. But the bigger they were, the harder they fell. Dutch's cloak turned to life and he faded from view. Keeping out of the monsters limited range, Dutch raised his antimatter rifle. At this range, and with such a target, he doubted he would miss. He leveled the rifle, took aim, and fired at the leviathan.
