The Assault Carrier has sustained critical damage, enough to crumple, distort and deform the innards of the Covenant Ship. This explains the covenant’s somewhat scattered communication and current state of panic, they haven’t radioed for help because they can’t. Whilst the lesser ranked aliens panic, the majority of disciplined and active creatures prepared their defenses, traps and tactics.
The UNSC Forces have entered the vessel, the Spartans having secured the gravity lift have pressed further along one passageway, whilst the rest of the humans move in their groups, their platoons, their packs in a disorganized yet deadly attack.
You choose your characters path, your character’s choose their fates with their actions inside that ship.
(I strongly recommend that you replay Halo Combat Evolved especially Truth and Reconciliation, its this urgency and action that we want to capture and create with this tale.)

So, where was the UNSC's point of entry? If they entered via grav-lift it's bloody fighting from the beginning, but if they found someplace else (like a hangar) then there'd be time to just run around before the fighting starts.

I believe the Spartans went first.

It was the Grav Lift, but the Covenant have semi- retreated to more defensible locations.
Such an act would also lure the UNSC into a false state of security, the Spartans are in first, following one particular unspecified passageway.

The other reason for the lack of Covenant reinforcements is that even if they had sent off a message, Slipspace travel is not instantaneous. It'd take some time for them to arrive.

Where is the data being kept?
I'll rephrase it, because there are several copies: do the UNSC know that there are copies of the data, and if so, are they aiming to destroy them all or are they after a specific one?

All the data, even with multiple copies, would be in the AC's computer system, so the multiple copies don't really make a difference.

Well, I wish Caster or someone was here so we'd have a CO. I was planning to knock on the bridge door and find someone in charge.

So... Is there any possible way to jump in this mission?

Welcome Back Nero! Sure, just post that you've entered the ship via the grav-lift and your there!

Well, I wish Caster or someone was here so we'd have a CO. I was planning to knock on the bridge door and find someone in charge. Ask and you shall receive. All the data, even with multiple copies, would be in the AC's computer system, so the multiple copies don't really make a difference. The multiple copies were uploaded not just to the AC's main computer but also to certain members of the command staff on board. Each copy is more damaged than the rest. My Sangheili character; Shri T'ova had the original, with the next best being uploaded to AC's central secured network (which we know Covvie computers aren't all that secure). -----EDIT---- I just realized my character sheets have been deleted. Crap taco's. Now working on remaking them. This way, should a single command staffer make it from this engagement it could be used as the site staffers see fit for the next story arc.

Well, that's the problem. If the Covenant get away with any of the data, the UNSC loses the war, because Earth and Reach and such will be glassed within the week - they have a copy of all of the navigational data that the Cole Protocol and such sought to keep out of the Covenant's hands. Which is why there's only one decent copy which has by now been deleted. Mission 3 is a continuation based on this mission, not a reset.

Actually, given how the copies were made. The most decent copy has not been destroyed....
Shri T'ova still holds the originally downloaded copy on his personal data-net. He's still alive....

Well, I'm retconning that... unless you'd prefer that I kill you and every other Covenant player character, which is the one other option, and the one I'd rather avoid. Can hardly continue the RPG for much longer once the Covenant have the coordinates to every single human planet, since it fundamentally changes the nature of the thing. If there's other data, then that's 'available' to be taken away, of course, but the way it was explained to me when everything was handed over was an "all or nothing" mission, in the original planning: either all of the Covenant die or all of the humans die, without any middle ground. I don't hold to that method of plot and RP, so I'm trying for a middle way where we don't have to wipe out everybody's characters.

That makes sense. Had I known that at the start I wouldn't have created such a "do - or - die" scenario.
When I make Shri's post, a number of the command staff carrying the copies will have been KIA'd, and Shri's copy will have been wiped from standing too close to the engines during a rupture in the seals. Ties up that loose end.

I've really just inherited this plot. Mission 3 is much more of mine, so the problem shouldn't recur.

And how will the spartans get out? I don't think they can use the grav lift again, otherwise maybe pelicans can get them out through the damaged hangar bay.

Through handy plot holes and unexplained circumstances - I think the general consensus is that this mission needs to be wrapped up.

I agree, there is no information about which ship they came from or how they actually got on the covenant ship. They are saying that it was something with a grav lift but... I don't really get it. I think the best thing to do, is just letting them be picked up by a pelican.

Well, the first half of the mission was getting on the ship, so that's wrong... but it does need to wrap up either way.

I know that Cracker. If the Fenix was still alive I would have already sent in my pair of Pelicans.
