*Underlings And yeah, I agree. He's kinda disregarded the Recon team already in the field, as well as the stealth approach when he started shooting an entire patrol. Have Rocco keep the pelican running, in case we need to make a hasty exit.

I would be talking to Elando 'bout it, if he wasn't engrossed in LOTR Online. <.<

Why doesn't the Armoury list vehicles that are in use?

Cuz there are none I agree with you guys about SC, but I think we should let Elando decide if the post is legit. Cuz he obviously did a hell of a post there. I'm merely wondering whether he's with Gamma or not :S Edit: Also a couple things, he used a frag on stealth op, which would make quite a bit of noise, and most likely in a patrol that large, at least one of the covies should have gotten a message off warning the ship. Especialy since he didn't eliminate them all quickly.

Ouch... I'm sorry you guys feel that way. I'm only doing what Elando told me to. Cuz he obviously did a hell of a post there. At least everyone isn't trying to cut me down... Thanks Cracker. I'm merely wondering whether he's with Gamma or not :S No. Edit: Also a couple things, he used a frag on stealth op, which would make quite a bit of noise, and most likely in a patrol that large, at least one of the covies should have gotten a message off warning the ship. Especialy since he didn't eliminate them all quickly. There's nobody around to hear it (aside from you guys in the distance). Target Hades is still, after all, fairly far away. And the reason I didn't wipe them all out in one post is because my post is long enough already. I'll finish the job in my next one. It's still one great big action, just broken down into two written parts. *Underlings And yeah, I agree. He's kinda disregarded the Recon team already in the field, as well as the stealth approach when he started shooting an entire patrol. Have Rocco keep the pelican running, in case we need to make a hasty exit. Apparently our definitions of "stealth approach" differ. Causing misdirection and confusion while remaining undetected sounds stealthy to me. And I do sincerely apologize if I accidentally stepped on anybody's toes as far as the recon thing goes. It is my first post.

The problem we have, is now there is no reason why the covenant, who were previously unaware of us, didn't just get a paniced radio call from that patrol.
Which is that happens, we lose our element of suprise, and they'll start lookin for us more. And it'll be harder to sneak up on them.

Realize that I'm not done yet. All I did so far was shoot a few times, whip a grenade, and slide over to new cover. That'd only take, what, seconds? I'm not about to sacrifice the element of surprise, trust me.

I'm not about to sacrifice the element of surprise, trust me. Its 30 hostiles. That's a lot of troops to take down before they can call for reinforcements. Also, there are a few ways to figure it out, such as if they aren't checking in when they are supposed to be. My concern is it looks like a bit of godmodding. Ricocheting bullets off of jackals shields is sort of overstretching yourself...

Everything is fine, don't panic.
SC is going to correct his post so that he dropped in with Inhert's recon squad and then we'll carry on from there. Him lobbing nades and stuff will obviously have reprecussions though.

By the way, map is up in UNSC overview. The red dots around the crator are actually explosives set by the ONI recon team but I couldn't find any way to make that obvious...

Samuel Murphy: They weren't the shade gun turrets. It was the ship mounted laser turrets...Anti-fighter type shit...Would your guys have seen the charging plasma looking down into the crater when the turrets are mounted on the ship above you? Also, Yak is still Clarification: The tanks are on the ship, at the edge of the bays firing down. There is a deep dead zone, once your inside the crater but that's where you hit the entrenched infantry. Interesting how people know to have rocket launcher.

Interesting how people know to have rocket launcher. Interesting how a highly damaged ship can bring point defences online in a matter of moments to fire at hidden enemies they only suspect as being there because of communications intereferance above a planet whose strong lava flows - and therefore highlevel background magnetic interferance - is so high that a sustained burst of plasma fire through the rock crust would most likely result in a volcanic-like effect that would fill the crater with molton rock killing everyone inside....

Nex makes a very good point. You have no idea that Inhert's squad is there except some small comm intereferance and one of your squads going out of contact which could mean nothing due to the background interferance from the planet's volcanic activity. Its not to say that they cannot be used once the Infantry is revealed but at this point you have no idea anyone is there, all the reason to suspect that but no reason to go firing off shots willy nilly. By all means send a squad or even a banshee or two but like Nex said, on a planet which is potentially unstable its not wise to be shooting off plasma, especially when your troops are in a basin.

The way Caster posted it did make it sound like plasma turrets, so I don't blame him for confusing it. However I do think he is G-Modding slightly by taking out all 4 turrets so quickly.

But it's not like he came out totally unscathed. One of his guys got wounded. Given the situation, I think he did great.

The tanks are on the ship, at the edge of the bays firing down. There is a deep dead zone, once your inside the crater but that's where you hit the entrenched infantry. By that, do you mean hanger bays I take it? In which case, it only covers a brief area. The north - and bravo's approach would be unaffected. As would be the immediate south.

Inhert was slightly god modeing, even if it was plasma turrets he should of either taken more casualties, defeated less turrets in one post or just retreated.
Also, Nex, I know its like that according to the map but the AC can easily be rotated to provide fire on any side of the crator from its hanger bays on the sides, however this means that whichever area its back end is over will leave it open for attack because there are little to no pulse lasers on the very back end.
And I think Caster misunderstood what the Pulse Lasers are. They're basically extremely rapid fire lasers, not things that have to charge up. No plasma involved just a load of flashy beams of light making small frag grenade sized explosions, melting anything in its path and half blinding anyone who looks at it if they're too close.
UD could explain better but thats how I understand it anyway.
Either way it'd cause instant death to anything it hit, either by the massive hole it just bore into them or the shock of being hit by it/burn/melted/blinded by it.

I do admit that I was slightly god modding. Although only one of the turrets was completely destroyed, the other three only had the grunt manning them shot out.
