Welcome to Nexus, the City of Dreams. An entirely independent city established on the partially-glassed planet of Blight. Nexus was established post-war following the Covenant's formal defeat in 2553. It was intended to be a place free from meddling by all of the galactic powers, though some would consider it a power all of its own. Officially created on March 1st, 2554, almost a year after the end of the war, the first buildings in Nexus were a combination of pre-fabs and contracted construction work. The idea was realized by the union of Human corporation Innovation Technologies, and the Kig-Yar Mercenary-Merchant Nest of Tok. It was through these two corporate powers that Nexus came into being, and how it came to be governed as a corporatocracy. Nowadays, it's a massive city built as tall as it is wide. Neon lights ensure that there's never a dark night (unless you live in the slums, of course) and there's plenty of smog to block out the skies in the daytime. If that wasn't enough to reel you in, the glass-storms leftover from the planet's partial glassing tend to keep the populace on their toes. The outskirts of the city has plenty of pre-fab shelters and tent cities for the poorest of the poor, but beyond the outskirts, the land becomes extremely inhospitable. Luckily, Nexus thrives on inhospitality.
Over the years many corporations have moved into Nexus from all walks of life. What was once a city prolific with Humans and Kig-Yar now contains all of the known galactic species, at surprisingly near-equal demographics. Here's the kicker that brings everyone to Nexus: It's no man's land. Anybody can move here and make a life for themselves. Some choose seclusion, some choose to try their hand at making a fortune. There's no real "law" here, just enforced peace. How is the peace enforced? Apeiron Defense Industries, a mercenary company made of entirely of elite ex-military units, from the UNSC's Special Forces groups, the defunct Covenant's Special Operations, even elite units from the remaining species have taken an interest in ADI. When all hell breaks loose in the streets, ADI is called in to squash the conflict. Usually with extreme prejudice for all parties involved. There's only one rule in Nexus: Don't break the peace. That single rule is how the UNSC, Swords of Sanghelios, a select group of Covenant Remnants, and even the newly-born Banished have maintained enclaves inside of Nexus without killing each other.

[b]Personal Thread Idea(s):[/b] I'm gonna leave it up to the masses as to what we do in Nexus. Could be anything from disturbing the peace (and getting squashed), attempting a corporate heist, back-and-forth spy-thriller espionage between the enclaves, or a simple group social at the local cuisine bar. The options and opportunities are endless. Remember, there is no word count for your personal idea, so have at it.For the record, yes this is inspired by Cyberpunk 2077.
