The original idea was attempt a dialogue-only story, similar to the Halo 3 terminals. It gradually involved into a "show-don't-tell" story with all of the color-coding, stemming from the fact that Halo 3's terminals also told the story of Mendicant Bias, as well as the Librarian and Didact. I wanted to tell a dialogue story through the past and the present, as well as a secondary background story for those who caught on to it and were keeping pace. When I was little, I never understood the Halo 3 terminals and the story of Mendicant Bias went completely over my head, mainly because I read it at face-value and never paid much attention to it. This is an attempt to tell a similar blink-and-you'll-miss-it story where you have to pay close attention in order to understand the entire concept. My favorite part of the Halo 3 terminals was that at first, it appeared Mendicant Bias was just another fragment of the past. Eventually, he broke the fourth wall and the story became that much more immersive. I'm hoping my similar fourth-wall break will inspire such immersion. I hope I achieved my goal with this, and if not, there's always room for improvement
