Especially as it relates to the ones used by Spartans/Sangheili/some Jiralhanae.
So my brain had this thought as I was trying to sleep last night (thanks brain) - but shouldn't the way the shields seem to work in Halo mean they are kind of constantly draining?
What I mean is that if I remember rightly from the books when Chief first tries his on its a constant field thats a small distance off the surface of them and their limbs. Like a field around them all the time until its turned off. Fine that would be effective covering of them. And I'm sure its not over the soles of their feet so they can still run and jump and all that stuff and magnet boots.
But - shouldn't that mean that anytime they melee something or jump or do some move that the shield drains? Because its around them and their hands and in the games we have them punching stuff all the time and doing big leaps onto tanks and other objects to do items. Shouldn't the impact of the large mass inside the shield hitting the shield itself or the shield being thrown against a skull or tank be taking chunks off it?
Its not like mass effect where there is a sensor field around the person that when it detects and item of specific speed it sends out energy to stop it its a constant field.
So do we think its just a game thing to not have it constantly tick down? I dunno if theres a proper answer my brain just wouldn't shut up about this when I was trying to sleep.
