Atl Gel - T'vaoan adventurer
Ruins of New Jerusalem
A fine place for a picture.
March 25th, 2553.
The fires had thankfully died down over the last seven years of burning off all their fuel. A few small smoke clouds were still rising from the ship and building wreckages but they were few now. It was always interesting to think about it however. How this battle went. How a Covenant vessel had crashed down on top of the Human settlement and flattened most of it. Was it a Human ship that caused it to fall out of the sky? Was it an internal attack? It was the only large wreckage still here besides a few smaller craft like pelicans and Seraphs so whatever had happened hear had been a definiate loss for the Covenant if no Human ships fell as well.
Such thoughts slowly circulated in Atls head as he perched on a Bluff overlooking the destroyed settlement and the river next to it. It was amazing that the river was pretty much untouched from the battle that had raged only a few hundred feet from it. And as such was the main focus of the artwork he was currently working on. Perhaps it would show how nature and the earth cared not for the conflicts that arose on it. In time it would heal. Buuuut, he mused as he taped the touchpad's stylus against his beak. Glassing was a thing. Would that ever heal? Eh. Problems for another day.
The T'vaoan sat on a rock as he occasionally looked down at the river and the city. A radio next to him keeping him in contact with the Kig-Yar Salvage team that was currently down there. He had hitched a ride with them and so was enjoying his time when he didn't have to be just next to them. They weren't bad Kigs but their priorities were very counter to Atls. They were looking for old Covenant tech to salvage but were happy enough to take payment for a trip to this place and then a ride back to the station he had joined them at. He could see them now down there. Little dots gesturing and calling for tools as they had recently cut their way into the Covenant hull and were currently organizing teams to start exploring the vessel.
They probably wouldn't be in the picture Atl was working on. His peoples propensity to scavenge and salvage would probably not help to reinforce the idea and meaning behind the peice. He did wonder if any Humans had come back here since the offical wars end ceremony? The planet seemed decently fair besides the ruins of this city? With their new found power Atl assumed they would be expanding to reclaim territory rapidly now before the new free(er) aliens did the same.
