Hey everyone! I am extremely sorry for going inactive for so long. It's a really long story, but life has been a living hell. So, firstly, my school had suspended me once for making a school shooting joke referencing columbine. Even though plenty of other kids do it. So, I had a psychologist assess me, three days later, I get suspended again for sharing six separate memes on facebook, three of which referenced school shootings and the other three was just video game memes and a car joke. The school shooting memes had a picture of Anakin from Star Wars, SpongeBob, and a kid buying a gun. Needless to say, I found these personally funny and I got suspended over it. Not sure why they were stalking my facebook or how this makes any sense. Had another hearing the other day, so we'll see how this goes. Anyway, I was pretty much grounded from my computer during that time. And when I finally got it back... The battery had died. Like, completely. Wasn't holding a charge. Had to order a new battery and wait a few days for that. Two days later, here we are, I'm finally on my computer again for something other than schoolwork. Thank you for having so much patience with me, I am deeply sorry for the inactivity and inconveniences. I have now returned, and I'm ready to get back into roleplaying. I don't think those kind of jokes are in good taste at all but its good to have you back around!
Hopefully all those suspensions didn't ruin the schooling too bad and you arnt in danger of failing but it is good to see you back!

Dark humor is accepted by a small percentage of people, who also use it and/or use it to cope for a number of reasons. I don't mind it at all, but well, you know what else I think, Remnant, after I pmed you on facebook about what happened to you. Glad to see you back here. Welcome home. :3

Thank you!
I can understand why people would be offended though. I'm going to use caution with whatever I say or do in the future. Don't want to say the wrong things to the wrong people.

Welcome back Dark, have to say your absence was bugging me, it's like having a child naw at your leg, then they leave and it's like "Where the child go?"

I'm glad your understand. Some things need to be said privately to others who share the same type of humor. It's a shame they invaded your privacy on your own facebook page to get you into trouble though. Never was a fan of people doing that for any reason to get someone fired or in trouble for what they said. Videos of someone actually committing a crime and posting the live feed on their wall is one thing, and those people deserve to get into trouble...but posting stupid jokes and sharing their opinions is another, no matter how bad they are.

Before another person gets pissy, I don't find school shootings or partially the joke themselves funny. I find the context of what was said funny. For example, relating spongebob and pumped up kicks to a white loner kid stereotype. That's funny. The death of 300 students is not. Make sense now? I mean humour isn't the easiest thing to explain, but considering it's an opinion in itself, you shouldn't bash someone for it. Just respectfully agree to disagree and move on. No insults or prophetic sightseeing needed.

I see it in a different light, but I'm not getting upset over it.
But consider the other point of view, I certainly can.
I worry about it, and despite the context of the joke being Sponge-bob, it was still associated with a joke about children being gunned down by psychopaths; that's what makes some people upset, and I can see why your school was upset, because another part of the context was a school shooting. Sure, it was sponge-bob, but it was also another thing - you know what I'm saying?
But I guess I view it in that light because I'm a father figure to two young children in my life.
I'm an uncle.
I'm a brother, both elder and younger.
These are things you think about when you send a ten year off to school under your care, or when you're feeding a five month old baby a bottle and thinking about their future. They roam in your head, plant a seed, but the reality of the situation is - it is a very real possibility.
The only emotion I can use to explain the gut wrenching feeling when your truly caring for two children at the level I am... it's just pure frightening.
And that's where some people get angry.
They're not thinking about the humour, they're thinking about the reality; a reality that has unfortunately greeted some families.
That's all, Dark, I don't think their is a right or wrong answer for something like that.
But there is always another side, always.

Honestly, I think the problem lies in me. I try so hard to push the blame away from me and explain everything down to the letter in an effort to run away from the truth. I get extremely defensive, try to place myself in the right and justify myself over everyone else because I'm so afraid of what will happen if I let my guard down. It's an impossible thing not to do for mentality reasons, because it's more along the lines of being coerced into throwing up barriers or such. It makes facing responsibility over my actions a very hard thing to do.
A lot of what you said is what the hearing officer had said, that it wasn't just one singular thing, but another thing too. and I realize I can't just force focus onto one thing and not the whole picture. Frankly I wish I had the smarts not to cause something like this. But alas, the most I can do right now is learn from my mistakes and move on.
Apologies in advance, Kill and Dave.

But alas, the most I can do right now is learn from my mistakes and move on. Which is what everyone has to do. Everyone makes mistakes. No one is perfect. You're smart, Dark. You'll learn from this.Just remember it, and don't do it again. It's good to take a deep breath, and a step back, to think before you do something. It's a good habit to get yourself into.
