Patrol Officer Jason Sorelson Laketown Memorial Hospital
Jason followed the Captain as he suddenly strode off back into the hospital and thought, "Why are we back in here?" But he continued to follow silently as they were joined by from the looks of it a Sergeant and her fireteam. Though he kept his mouth shut and stayed to the Captain's left and merely followed his lead and waited in the maintenance room with the Captain.
He listened as the Captain spoke and said "Lieutenant Commander," and nodded to the man that had stepped out of the door leading to a stairway. Jason sorta stood there awkwardly almost out of place, though he had been told to basically follow the Captain as he understood it, and listened to the man introduce himself as the ONI team entered from the basement and he looked at them curiously.
He let the Captain speak his part, "I feel I have to get straight to the point and I'm sure you won't tell me anyway, but what is the Office of Naval Intelligence doing on the ground here Sir?" Jason under his riot helmet looked rather confused but let them have their conversation.

Sergeant Henry "Salt" Dawes153rd ODST, 2nd Platoon, 2nd Division, Callsign Angel Two-OneLake Town, The ChurchUp, Up, and Away
(Tags: Wax™ roachman34 tento125) The pilot responded to SGT Dawes with some snappy remark, and then proceeded to give boarding instructions. Salt felt like he and the pilot wouldn't get along too well, but then gain, who ever really got long with him? Most just tolerated him because of his rank, except the men and women in his squad, since they know he means well. To others though, he can be seen quickly as, for lack of a better term, an asshole. But that's just who he is. " You heard the lady," Salt said to the marines and his squad, " Let's get a move on. Harris, Mouse, help the wounded on board." Just then, a head peeked through the doorway, and said "Anybody in here" and immediately, the weapons of an entire ODST squad were trained on it. Dawes realized it wore the helmet of an ODST, and his HUD told him that it was CPL Lawton. " What took you so long, Corporal? Come on, get in here. Help get any wounded in your fireteam and the rest of these wounded on board that bird. Walking wounded after the serious stuff. Hop to it, Marine." Salt said, before moving to help the injured himself. Only then did Salt really get the picture of what had happened there. Fuck me, I sounded like a real ass, these Marines have been through all nine circles of hell... He thought, seeing the faces of the deceased, the injuries of those who were down, and the way the survivors carried themselves; like zombies. The small church was a dismal sight once you took it all in. Plasma burns everywhere, shell casings littering the floor, bodies slumped over, and marines slowly gathering the injured and moving onto the pelican. For the first time, Salt really, truly, hated himself for what he had said. Sure it was only a few words, but they were laden with a cocky attitude. Clearly, he had't gotten there soon enough. Backup was useless now. An few minutes ago, it may have saved those three that were being carried aboard, bodies limp and bloody. Maybe he could have saved them. And then he had to go and say some douchey remark. Dawes would always remember that moment, standing there in the church, surrounded by suffering. He'd look back and wonder, what if...
The next few minutes went smoothly, the marines filed into the pelican, and last to mount up was Dawes. He looked back at the sorry sight they were leaving. The image of a bullet-riddled church door, spattered with red and purple blood would haunt him for the rest of his days. He knew he could have been better. He should have been...
((OOC: Tento gave me permission to board his marines since he was going to be away for a while. /OOC))

Edto Xar'Sivaree stood on a phantom several Kilometers out from the battle, observing it with a monocular. She watched the soldiers converge on the Town and start wreaking havoc of all kinds through the city, firefights happening everywhere aside from the one place she wanted it to happen. The enemy Feild Command. She saw the fight at the Human Hospital, and by far it was the largest fight in the city. She wanted to change that.
She continued, trying to figure out a way for them to take the field command when it dawned on her. There was a massive armour group heading to the Hospital. Their armour would cut through her forces is all likelihood, so she wanted to get them out. What a better opportunity, though?
"Warriors of the Covenant..." She started, having put down the monocular. "Maintain your current positions, but dig in. Those in vicinity of the Human Command Center... Fall back until commanded further. Keep the humans inside, break up their lines where you can but be ready to attack the Command Center. We shall show these humans the true might of the Covenant" She ordered, bringing the monocular back up.
As she made the order, the Human Datapad she had vibrated in her belt. She took a moment to gain some privacy before looking at the message she received.
She smiled. "Upset are we... Well... I think I have one more trick up my sleeve you might like" She explained to herself sending another message.
J>>> Well... If that is what you think of this... Paltry attack I have mustered, then allow me to demonstrate the true might I have at my disposal. You might want to stay at the Large building with the red cross on it. I am only looking out for your survival after all. You don't have to believe me... But once the remainder of my ground forces arrive... I WILL be in the city
With that sent, she returned the Datapad to her pocket and set up a COM's link to her ships. She had a plan...
Barely a few rooks later, she could see her glorious ship start to approach. Soon... It would dominate the skyscape...
OOC: This is Part One of Edto's plan. I know what a lot of you are thinking. "She's going to use the nuclear option on the city" well, yes and no. You will see soon enough at least. For this plan, only the resources at Edto's disposal are being used. I put a lot of thought into this plan. Just know, the Ship itself will not cause near as many casualties as you may think.

LT. CMDR Moretti, Michelangelo N. ONI Tactical Field Officer Inner Colonies // Panis Eterni System // Esperanza II // Lake Town // Lake Town Memorial Hospital 2551 Tag(s): Faclan , MrKill , Wax™ , edtosivaree , roachman34 , SuperCommando , Spartan 999 , SPARTAN-A120 When he and the others stepped out of the door, he was greeted by Bowers and the others who stood behind their Captain. Moretti quietly glanced at the others behind Bowers, and then fixed his attention on the man in front of him, while the Captain introduced himself to him. Well, nice that he didn't have to see who he was on his TAC-PAD or turn on the HUD of his tactical glasses to find out himself. “ Captain Bowers,” he replied, nodding back a little. “As for why I'm here with my unit...” His eyes shifted over to the civilian police officer standing with the group, but didn't seem to care if he was standing there, listening in. Looking back at Bowers, he explained, “I am looking to speak with Colonel Killinger on an important assignment I would like to talk privately with him about, as soon as he arrives here. He is aware that I need to talk with him though...” He glanced around and shrugged his shoulders. “...we were going to discuss elsewhere, but when the bloody Covenant shit started raining down from the sky, the plans changed, of course.” His TAC-PAD beeped quietly again when he received a message. “Apologies, but I must read this message, Captain.” Glancing down to read what was sent to him, he sighed in annoyance at what he just read.
Smirking in both amusement and anger, he rubbed at his chin thoughtfully for a moment, grunted mockingly, and typed away his message to send back to the Sangheili.
He looked up at the Captain, and said, “ More shit is about to go down...you might want to have your marines be ready, and to fight. Until I'm able to speak with the Colonel, we will be able to assist you against the Covenant forces who are and will be attacking Lake Town.” Next, he returned his attention to his TAC-PAD to send another message, but to his SPARTAN/ONI team who were currently after the Heretic leader.
A small smile formed as he finished his message. Yes. He can play very rough, too. Plans always change.

“Now that we have positive ID, how do we execute?” From his seat near the hatch of the stealth aircraft, Silas turned his helmet at Chen to address the ensign’s question. That had been his first thought as well, so while they had been following Revuul’s Phantom he had been working out a plan of action. “My recommended course of action is to continue shadowing the target for now. We know he didn’t stay at that base in sector E1 for long, and we’ve already passed B3 so we know he’s not going to the source of that broadcast he sent earlier. That means we need to wait before we can confirm his current destination, but we can speculate and make contingency plans. For example…” The Spartan sent a file to the rest of the strike team. It was a civilian profile including two images, a standard photo ID as well as a freeze-frame image of a man on a certain Elite’s shoulder. “I had Anansi access my helmet feed and run facial recognition on the man ‘Kasai personally abducted,” Silas explained. “Got a hit. Hugo Maxwell, a foreman for the Esperanza Mining Company. I was wondering what alien rebels would want from human civilians, specifically miners, and the only thing that makes sense is information. As for what kind of information, we know that ‘Kasai’s Heretics have already raided several UNSC worlds to steal resources, so what if they were after raw minerals too? He does have an army to supply after all. Now, take a look at the map.” “Esperanza Mining Company operates out of these locations: B4, D4, E5, and F5. Our current heading is consistent with the E5 location. If that’s where ‘Kasai is going, I suggest we wait for him to enter the mine and then engage him inside where he’s cut off from air support and has limited escape routes. We can even use demolition charges on select entrances to further corner him. However, we need to wait and make sure he’s really going to the mines before we do anything.” EDIT: Looks like Llau posted while I was typing. You guys feel free to respond to that, guess we get the message literally as soon as Silas finishes talking.

Petty Officer SPARTAN-097 Gold Two Esperanza-II, Panis Eterni System Sector B2, Louden
Jethro sat across from Silas and a few seats over in the direction of the door that led up to the cockpit. His SAW rested in his lap as he idly made a few minor adjustments and double- and triple-checked the gun. Naturally, Chen's question drew his attention, as evidenced by the way his head shifted a tad in the Ensign's direction. For the moment, he remained silent as Silas spoke in reply.
Taking a human knowledgeable on the location of precious resources definitely made sense, and it fit with 'Kasai's MO. Jethro himself had been close to piecing that together, but Anansi's help allowed Silas to figure it out a lot quicker. Not that he minded so much, if at all.
Finally, the magic words were spoken. “Demolition charges” and “corner him”. Jethro grinned and gave an almost imperceptible nod. He took a breath, intending to remark that almost any form of explosive solution was perfectly acceptable to him-
A message popped up on his HUD. Urgent, sent by Moretti himself. Judging by the reaction of his teammates, they'd also received the message.
...Oh come on! He didn't exactly like Moretti (not that he'd spoken with the man enough to decide what he thought of him), but this was just aggravating.
“...So.” Jethro spoke freely through his helmet's speakers, meaning Chen could hear as well. “Let me get this straight,” he started dryly. “Commander Moretti briefs us thoroughly on a mission to capture an HVT, sends us down to tail said HVT for several hours, and while we're doing that he comes down planetside in search of an HVT of his own.” Sounds good so far. “Then, when we're just about ready to pounce on our HVT, he calls us over to snag his HVT for him.” Not so good. “Whom he can't get despite being a highly-trained ONI operative presumably leading an entire team of highly-trained ONI operatives.”
The Spartan's short scoff wasn't audible to the others, but Silas could see the that he'd done so from the minor cues in his body language.
“...Yeah, alright. Makes sense,” Jethro muttered, the subtle sardonicism lacing his words more readily apparent to his fellow Spartan than Chen.

Colonel Johnathon Killinger 120th Marine Expeditionary Unit At the hospital It really didn't take long to travel a kilometre when you were gunning through streets at sixty plus kilometres an hour. Truth be told, John had been parked for a few minutes, but he felt like he needed to calm his nerves and mentally realign with the situation that was at hand. The Marines had disembarked and had begun walking up towards the hospital. John had parked the warthog out of sight, thinking as he watched Pelicans and Banshees engage each other. Some banshees exploded as pelicans got hits with their chain gun, but pelicans also plummeted towards the ground as they were shot down. Pretty soon the Marines wouldn't have any air cover, the only reason he wasn't being strafed was because thirty pelicans scrambled to engage the incoming air attack. It had been, if John had to guess, half an hour or so since the attack had begun. It might have been less, or more, he wasn't paying attention. John exhaled calmly, smoke bellowing out of his nose and mouth. "This is some good shit," he muttered. "But it's time to get to work." With the cigarette still in his mouth, hanging precariously off the lips, the field officer hit the ignition and smirked as the engine rumbled. He was about to press down on the accelerator when he noticed his data-pad was pulsing like a chatter did when there was a message he needed to read. The Marine took the last drag of his cancer stick and tossed the filter away, he wasn't too worried about starting a fire; the battle had already done that for him. "Mother." John said, stopping himself with a quick inhale, fist clenched in angry. He took the moment to produce another smoke from his case while he exhaled, obviously one wasn't going to be enough for him to calm down. "Fucker." He finally added, lighting the smoke while he spoke. I knew it, I fucking knew it John though. Nothing good ever came from a ONI HVT... well usually, anyway. "I'm going to carve his face in." John said, talking to himself. "Yep, his nose is going to be popping out of the back of his fucking head when I'm done with him." The Colonel sighed. "But it ain't his fault now is it?" He read over the message again, calming down from the 'sarcastic' responses. He had to remember that this was sent a while ago, he had only just read it. By now the spook had to have been on the ground. Well over ten minutes had passed since he gotten the message. "So this HVT is 'wanting to play games' with an ONI agent, huh?" John mumbled. He tucked his data-pad away and looked back at the bodies in the troop bay, frowning slightly, before giving the warthog a gulp of fuel it needed to lounge forward. To the right, down the road, and boom - they were at the hospital. He didn't part too far away, after all, he just needed a 'smoke break!' "Hey, Marines!" John called. "Get these bodies out of the 'Hog... carefully. Strip them of ammo, guns, grenades; anything that you boys can physically use, but leave their personal items. We'll recover those later, if we have the time." John ordered. He made his way into the lobby, walked around for a moment, and found who he was looking for. The ONI Spook had just finished talking to Captain Bowers, telling him who they needed to speak to, but John had already known who the man needed. He was about to interrupt and introduce himself, but his radio crackled and he received a transmission from the encrypted battalion command channel, and the ONI spook had already begun typing something on his tablet. John ducked away before being spotted. "Guardian Actual, Guardian X-Ray, the Covenant are pulling away from contested areas. They seem to be regrouping, but if you haven't seen it yet, a Covenant ship has entered orbit. I'd say a 95% chance its heading for us, sir." The MEU's executive officer said. John took the moment to issue an order. "Then we make a push," John rapidly ordered. "They won't glass us with friendly units still on the ground. The Covenant are vicious, but not murderous." "Are you sure about that, sir?" The XO replied. "Have you seen them glass their own?" The channel remained quiet for a moment. "Aye, sir, I'll issue the orders." John reentered the corridor. Before he introduced himself, the MEU's XO issued the orders. " Guardian X-Ray to all MEU Callsigns, the Covenant are pulling back to regroup, all assets are to push forward and engage the regrouping Covenant. I say again, all MEU assets push forward and engage the Covenant as they regroup. Guardian X-Ray out." The attack meant that all of the MEU's Warthogs - the LAAG, Gauss and Rocket variants - had been ordered into the fight. In support were three infantry companies of Marines, a Combat Engineer company, and scattered ODSTs. Further support included, well, six Grizzly main battle tanks and fourteen Scorpion main battle tanks. Oh no, the Covenant weren't going to run away to regroup while the Marines waited for their asses to be handed to them. As far as John knew, they had far more assets available to work with. They had to get them engaged, because if the Marines weren't close enough, the inbound Covenant warship could just glass them all to a shiny new cup for the Covenant could drink out of. Hyperbole aside, bad things would happen unless the lines were tangled between UNSC and Covenant. John waited a moment, heard the message play through someone's radio, and then introduced himself. "Just in time for the real 'game' to begin, Lieutenant Commander." John joked. "Colonel Killinger." He added, offering his hand as a gesture of good will, but his eyes betrayed him with the fury he actually felt. His body burned like a thousand suns had ignited his anger.

Jiralhanae War Chieftain Garatus the Deathless Covenant War-Camp Actions Speak Loudly, but so do Angry Jiralhanae
Garatus had been preoccupied with his thoughts for some time, but all interaction with him had been seemingly cut off when the Heretic Warlord’s broadcast reach Garatus’s ears. His disgust was easy to see, rage etched his features. It wasn’t common for Garatus to bear his teeth, but ever since he heard Kasai’s word his many sharp teeth were perpetually visible in a snarling grimace. The audacity of that conniving little bastard to try and convert Garatus’ own troops to such a frivolous cause, idiocy!
Garatus had stormed across the war camp and climbed atop a crude stone altar in the center of the encampment. Jiralhanae would recognize it as a War Chieftain’s podium, a place from which those rulers could howl their rage and command their armies from. His anger and scaling of the large stone had not gone unnoticed, and several Unggoy set up audio relays around as they could smell an incoming speech on the very winds it would seem.
Garatus raised his Gravity Hammer into the air, clenched tightly in his right fist. He let out a roar of such proportions that the entirety of the camp could hear and it likely carried for a mile or two around as Jiralhanae were after all used to communicating in such a fashion over long distances. As his roar petered off into a low, deep, agitated rumble he lowered his hammer and looked over the gathered soldiers that had hurried to listen to their enraged leader.
“Do you hear that honorless cur? Do you hear his hollow words as he tries to draw you in like an insect to a sweetened trap? The only thing that lies with Kasai and his inbred halfwits is an agonizing life of fear, where one can never rest for they must always run! Run from us! For we are a Covenant most mighty, brothers, sisters, united in glorious salvation under the all seeing Gods of old!” Garatus roared, obviously his words towards Kasai were venomous at the very least, easily qualifying as hateful.
“They who gifted us great power” Garatus said, gesturing to the highly advanced technologies spread around, thanks to the Forerunner’s and their technological leavings. “Binding us all together as one, one Covenant, one family” Garatus said with an almost soothing tone, like one’s father might sound after unintentionally frightening his children.
“Would you trust this Heretic? A brother who turned his back on us, who has lied and killed to scrape a living off bare rock? Or would you trust your leaders here, who have lead you with honor, respect, and where there is food, shelter, and drink aplenty? Never will you want for necessities under my command, nor shall you know the pain of Kasai’s whips under my protection” Garatus said, his face stern as his eyes scanned slowly over his amassed soldiers.
“He is weak, a ruthless coward and a fool” Garatus said matter-of-factly, his words cool. “I shall take Kasai’s head and mount it upon this stone before this world is ours” the words slipped cooly from his lips, rolling off easily like the recounting of a tale you’d known for years.
It was like that, to Garatus. How many times before had he preached the death of an enemy leader to his warriors, only to rip the head from that same enemy’s corpse so soon after? It was almost monotonous in a way, the same routine played out a hundred times; the only thing that made it fun was the act itself. No two people were the same, and killing them certainly wouldn’t play out identically either. No, that was what he honestly enjoyed. Not simply exterminating a foe, but breaking their will first by crushing their leader. In that way, Garatus was a Champion of the old ways of the Jiralhanae, harnessing their brutality to torment a foe and destroy their spirit.
With his speech concluded Garatus leapt down from the large stone, raising a plume of dust as he landed with a resonating thud. His friend and loyal Captain Valorus approached, bowing his head to his War Chieftain. While Garatus and Valorus had always had near parallel careers with Garatus just above his comrade in the chain of command, Valorus had stayed a Captain while Garatus ascended from Chieftain to War Chieftain. Valorus had shown no anger at this, but Garatus grew more suspicious of his old friend’s possible ambitions.
“What shall we do now, War Chieftain?” Valorus asked with uncertainty and piqued curiosity.
“We go to war” Garatus said, heading for his personal Chopper.
“You will assemble your Creche and select two others to follow me into battle, when Kasai’s defenses are revealed to us we will spearhead a convergence of Covenant forces on his location” Garatus said, his mind made up and his face rigid with harsh determination.
“In the meantime we will pillage the Human settlements as we head towards where this Heretic’s fortress is, at a pace slow enough to allow Kael and Tyseus’s scouting force to get the information from a Heretic but fast enough that we can close in with swiftness to make our ancestors proud” Garatus growled out, Valorus bowing and heading off to gather his troops and select another two Creches to join them.
Garatus turned back to his Chopper, adjusting the various caps and levers and checking fuel and lubricant levels. Fenarious must have been riding it last, as the seat was scooted further up than Garatus liked to keep it. He scoffed at this, when would that boy get
T’vaoan Murmillo Roh Gel Phantom Bound
He watched the exchange between the Jiralhanae Captain and Pela with passing interest, he was personally more focused on making sure all of his equipment was in place and in working order. He tested his blades, adjusted his right pauldron, and did a quick double check on his helmet’s displays.
Everything seemed in good order, so Roh went about inspecting his subordinates and their equipment. He ended up cuffing a slouching Major, and helping a Minor tighten their combat harness properly since it was their first field operation. Otherwise they all seemed fairly competent.
Roh looked up when the Jiralhanae Captained roared out orders, causing some of his fellow Kig-Yar to jump. Roh tensed slightly, moreso at the noise itself than out of fear. He’d worked with the Jiralhanae before, and had grown used to their... intense natures. It had not been too terribly long ago that he in fact lived on one of their vessels for several weeks when Garatus had rescued him on Kael’s behalf from that awful untamed planet the Humans had forsaken he and his friends to rot on.
He directed his soldiers towards the Phantom, making sure they were all safely loaded into the transport before entering it himself. He moved his soldiers to the front of where the Kig-Yar had gathered away from the Jiralhanae, watching the others with vague curiosity. These Jiralhanae must be from a different Tribe than Garatus, as their identifying marks were different and they seemed to have a distinct cultural aesthetic.
Jiralhanae Major Fenarious. Riding the Phantom
Fenarious had watched the interaction between Pela and Kadeius, finding their seemingly hesitant politeness amusing. He personally was quite capable of politeness and was well educated in the arts of common courtesy; he simply chose to be rude and uncouth because it was more fun for him.
He was clearly not of the Ashwrought Tribes, his complexion, fur color, and the scrawling black designs on his armor clearly single him out as a Bloodstone Clansman along with his Minors. But he would accompany them nonetheless, as Garatus had personally allowed Fenerious this opportunity.
When Kadeius barked at them to board the Phantom Fenarious was uniquely unflinching in the face of such intensity, while his Minors were startled Fenarious simply hefted his mace onto his shoulder and walked to the Phantom. He hoisted himself up through one of the side hatches instead of using the gravity lift at the vehicle’s rear, as he tried to avoid the over conveniences of many Covenant technologies.
When he and his Minors were loaded into the Phantom Fenarious settled into the back of the Phantom, crouching with his arms resting on his knees in a vaguely predatorial stance. While many of the others took their helmets off to making breathing easier in the stuffy and tight quarters of the Phantom; Fenarious remained masked by his flanged helmet.
He growled a low war hymn to himself
“Where the winds blow, there do we sow Destruction unerring, Jiralhanae ears uncaring Of the screams, paving dreams to glory For we are the bloodied few, dying for you Forerunners of yore, creators of bleeding shores Where Jiralhanae do sweep, with rage indiscreet For we are the wrath of the Gods”
A colorful tune, to be sure.

Ensign Richard A. Chen ONI Section III Tactical Field Operative "Panther" Aboard Black Cat Subprowler “Shadow Sky”, In Pursuit of HVT Esperanza II, Panis Eterni System, 2551 "It’s always too good to be true..."(Tags: SuperCommando , Spartan 999 , & Llau ) When SPARTAN-009 spoke, Chen’s own helmet met contact with the super soldier’s gold-plated and reflective visor. He could see the darkness of his suit reflecting off the MJOLNIR helmet and he took a quick moment to admire the tacticool appearance. “ My recommended course of action is to continue shadowing the target for now. We know he didn’t stay at that base in sector E1 for long, and we’ve already passed B3 so we know he’s not going to the source of that broadcast he sent earlier. That means we need to wait before we can confirm his current destination, but we can speculate and make contingency plans. For example…” replied Gold One. After he finished, Chen’s TAC-PAD vibrated along with a small text on his HUD that indicated that SPARTAN-009 had sent a file. The Ensign opened the file with his TAC-PAD and analyzed the two photographs; one with a photo ID and the other showing the same man over their HVT’s shoulder. 009 continued, “ I had Anansi access my helmet feed and run facial recognition on the man ‘Kasai personally abducted,” Silas explained. Now, take a look at the map.” Chen closed the file on his TAC-PAD and brought up the TACMAP. “ Esperanza Mining Company operates out of these locations: B4, D4, E5, and F5. Our current heading is consistent with the E5 location. If that’s where ‘Kasai is going, I suggest we wait for him to enter the mine and then engage him inside where he’s cut off from air support and has limited escape routes. We can even use demolition charges on select entrances to further corner him. However, we need to wait and make sure he’s really going to the mines before we do anything,” Gold One finished. The ONI Agent nodded and placed his hands on his hip and he started pacing at a slow speed while he thought critically about their options. Not even a minute into his thinking, his TAC-PAD vibrated and his HUD revealed a priority message from Lieutenant Commander Moretti. Chen read the message at least three times before he finally comprehended with what the gist of the message was saying. “ ...So,” Gold Two started speaking before Chen could form words in his mouth. “ Let me get this straight.” The hint of frustration caught onto Chen. “ Commander Moretti briefs us thoroughly on a mission to capture an HVT, sends us down to tail said HVT for several hours, and while we're doing that he comes down planetside in search of an HVT of his own. Then, when we're just about ready to pounce on our HVT, he calls us over to snag his HVT for him.Whom he can't get despite being a highly-trained ONI operative presumably leading an entire team of highly-trained ONI operative ...Yeah, alright. Makes sense,” SPARTAN-097 concluded. The Field Operative was about to rub his forehead out of frustration, but realized he still had his helmet on. He quickly saved himself from embarrassment by forming his left hand into an outward-facing fist and knocked on the top of his helmet instead. He was weighing his options once more. Chen was the only ranking Officer within the Black Cat and he could call the shots if he wanted to, but when he was teamed with SPARTANs, he played the democratic card unless leadership was required. At this point in time, he was contemplating whether to ignore orders and continue with their original plan or throw away their months of tracking and years of intel gathering to capture a Heretic Sangheili Leader and risk the death of countless UNSC lives or go for a Covenant HVT that Chen didn’t even know about until a few minutes ago and risk the loss of innocent and UNSC lives in the future from the Heretics’ pillaging and raiding of human colonies. If he decided to split up, it would be a catastrophe. Separating SPARTAN battle buddies would shatter their chemistry of combat and teamwork which meant that either Chen would die trying to save a SPARTAN’s ass or a SPARTAN would die trying to save his ass which was not convenient however the outcome would be. If the SPARTANs continued with the original mission and Chen regroups with Moretti’s team, there would be no SPARTANs to support the UNSC when the shit hits the fan. If Chen continued the mission and the SPARTANs are sent to support the UNSC forces, the Ensign might as well signed his own death certificate with a note stating “Death by Suicide.” He stopped pacing and took a few breaths to slow his heart rate and reduce his blood pressure which he could feel hammering away at his temples and chest. With a few quick taps of his TAC-PAD’s screen, he was about to reply to Moretti’s message when he forgot to do the most obvious thing that he should’ve done instead of placing the thousand-ton burden that was weighing him down like clothes soaked in water in addition to a hundred pounds of gear. He deleted the message draft and looked up towards the two SPARTANs. “ How can we get two birds with one stone, gentlemen?”

Brist glared at her, as Hotem began to slouch. “What’s the job ‘day ma’am?” Hotem blurted out. The lack of subtlety being easily noticed. “Come hither and I’ll explain all you’ll need to know, Hawk.” Jordan stated, using Hotem’s codename. “Straight to the point as usual. You two really ought to chill a little more.” Sighed Hotem as Brist left his side and went to the holotable where Jordan had gone. Hotem came shortly after, knowing he was being ignored. “Sadly, you'll be dropped without your rifle, Scope. Due to the proximity, you two will be dropping with Falcon wings.” Jordan began as the holotable lit up with a small swath of land that began on flat land and ended in a city. “You’ll be landing around this area.” Stated Jordan as a small red oval formed at the intersection of I-53 and I-99 “Once there your weapons will be dropped from a waiting pelican. Once you’ve recovered your weapons, proceed to your objective.” She explained as a path formed from the oval and went to small building complex. “This is your target, a small shopping mall. Once there do what you guys do best. On to equipment, You’ll both be dropping in with falcon wings, Hawk you’ll have a suppressed BR55, Scope due to the needs of the mission, you're going to be equipped with an SR99 equipped with an extended magazine. I expect you make every shot count. Side arms are the normal setup, suppressed M6 magnums. Remember this is a mission of discretion. If you guys are caught retreat to this location. Now for operational orders. You two are to keep watch over a bait that was set up prior to now and make sure an alien retrieves it. Once that’s done await new orders. Whatever you do do not kill the alien that picks up the bait.” She said causing a yellow dot to appear on I-53 west of where the building was. “Drop in, move to objective and await orders there?” Commented Brist as he took in the plan. “That’s correct.” Said Jordan. “Then let’s get moving, we’re burning dawn.” Brist stated as he turned towards the pelican that they were to drop out of. “Talk to you later Reeves.” Said Hotem as he caught up to his partner. -----<Hours later>----- 1200 hours… Scope rammed the rifle back into his good shoulder his metal hand easily stabilizing the weight of the weapon. His eyes went to the sights as he spotted a blue Sangheili approaching. It had noticed the most likely noticed the dead Unggoy that laid against a wall, a trap Brist had set up on the way to the building. For a few moments he watched the Sangheili as it cautiously approached the Unggoy. As it reached the middle of the main road, Brist reacted. His good hand squeezed the trigger and the shot poured out the front of the firearm. “Confirmed hit.” Commented Hotem as he looked through the binoculars he used as a spotter. “Hurry and give him a second hit, before he gets away.” Hotem said as he watched the Sangheili turn to try and find what had hit him. As he did however Scope’s second shot would go off taking the Sangheili to the ground. “Kill confirmed, looks like he was the bossy type.” Hotem said as he noticed a grunt inch closer before turning and running away. “Keep sharp, they could come back.” Replied Brist, as he eased away from the rifle. He began to stretch his arm, as it had been holding the rifle ready to fire for the past hour. “Hawk, Scope, do you read?” Came Jordan on their communications uplink. “Loud and Proud.” Responded Hotem, Brist silent. “You’re being retasked. Anansi, just informed me that Commander Moretti just went planetside. You’re to meet him at the hospice north of your current location. He’ll give you further orders once you’re there. Stay hidden though we don’t want a telegraphic presence. Hotem I’ve updated the map on your wrist mounted tac-pad.” Came the orders. Clarence sat up crossing his arms and looking at Hotem. Hotem looked at his left arm and nodded. Brist quickly grabbed the rifle and attached it’s sling and threw it over his shoulder. He grabbed the M6 from it’s holster. Hotem grabbing his own gear during the small transition. They both halted at the door to head back inside the mall. “Two blocks south of here, big building with a red cross can’t miss it. ” Hotem explained before opening the door his BR aiming down the steps. The private shook his head, he was only 20, but he knew what a hospital was. Brist followed swiftly behind his partner, knowing his rifle even with the four remaining bullets in the clip wouldn’t do much if they got caught on the stairs. They managed to get to the first floor without meeting any combatants. “There is an alley way if we go out the back, tighter quarters, but more concealment.” “Take the backway. Orders are to stay out of the sun.” Brist responded. Hotem took off towards the back door, having already disabled the alarm when they had first set up shop. Brist got against the door frame as Hotem opened it and aimed out. Instantly he ran back inside and took up the spot opposite Brist, the door still wide open. “You called it Scope, they came back, in numbers too. Ha do you think they traveled single file?” Hotem asked as he popped from cover and fired two bursts from his battle rifle. Brist pulled a grenade from his bandolier. The smoke grenade was simple and with a quick throw he counted and on 3 the young guy sprinted from the door, concealed by the smoke. He activated ISIS and had a good enough sight into the smoke. He paid no attention to Hotem whom he assumed did the same. He sprinted to the first Unggoy he found and unleashed his knife. With a strong hit the knife entered it’s tiny head. He continued, but he needed to move. He grabbed Hotem and pointed toward the way they needed to go. Hotem understood and they took off under the cover of the smoke. “I apologize for laughing at the bandolier thing.” Hawk said once they had made it to a warehouse. Brist responded by grinning beneath his helmet. “Let’s get rolling, gotta get there so the boss don’t kill us. We also gotta do it or else Jordan’ll fix us to murder us again, cause we made her look bad.” Said Hotem, causing Scope to nod in understanding. They resumed their march and the alley did exactly as Hotem had said. They reached the Hospital finding it filled with members of the MEU. Hotem walked in as if it were a usual stroll, until he was stopped by a marine who pointed an MA5 at him. “Name?” The marine questioned. “Sgt ‘Hawk’ ONI section three.” Hotem brazenly explained, assuming based on the orders and how long it took to get there that the commander had already reached the destination. When the marine put the gun down Brist approached his hands at his hips careful not to cause any unwarranted attention. “Your with the other Spook the Captain just went to see. fine get in there.” Staed the marine as he moved out of the way. Hotem casually strolled further in, while Scope sighed and approached more cautiously. Hotem seemed to know where to go, and Scope followed entering a room with a small group of marines, and a police officer with marine gear overtop his uniform. Standing in front of the marines was Umbra, the man in charge of this operation. “Just in time for the real ‘game’ to begin, Lieutenant Commander.” He said before designating himself as Colonel Killinger. Hotem leaned against a wall, while Brist stood rigid awaiting their next order.

((OOC Note: Laketown now has an official map for those that don't review the first page of the thread, for current reference I will post it in a spoiler below.))
Captain Jason Bowers 120th MEU // 12th Reconnaissance Company // Call Sign: Viper Actual Laketown Memorial Hospital; Greeting Ghosts Laketown, Esperanza II, Panis Eterni System, 2551
Tag(s): Llau, MrKill, Roach, A120Jason continued to stand at a relatively respectful 'at-ease' position with his right hand pulling down on the sling of his MA5C and his left hand balled up into a fist resting behind his person against his waistline. He listened to what the ONI officer had to say and didn't really listen so much to the first part as it simply translated to bullshit and was not a real answer to what Jason was 'really' asking. Jason knew the spook knew what he was really asking, but they both knew that the spook wouldn't tell Jason. "More shit is about to go down...you might want to have your marines be ready, and to fight. Until I'm able to speak with the Colonel, we will be able to assist you against the Covenant forces who are and will be attacking Lake Town. " The spook said. Was that orders? It sounded like a suggestion in the form of orders, never the less Jason decided to raise his chin slightly and then nod once. "My mission is at the hospital right now." He replied, however moments later a transmission came in over the battalion net. "Guardian X-Ray to all MEU Callsigns, the Covenant are pulling back to regroup, all assets are to push forward and engage the regrouping Covenant. I say again, all MEU assets push forward and engage the Covenant as they regroup. Guardian X-Ray out. " The transmission echoed through Jason's speakers and that of every single marine standing around him, excluding the police officer obviously. Jason almost let out an audible sigh but managed to hold it in. He turned his head and was just about to issue orders to his company's first sergeant but was interrupted as he spotted Colonel Killinger come around the corner and approach the group. Jason's mouth almost dropped, it had been a long time since he saw the man. Lowering his head he watched as the Colonel moved straight to the ONI officer disregarding all others. He waited for the senior officer to speak before interrupting. "Just in time for the real 'game' to begin, Lieutenant Commander. " The Colonel said to the ONI Officer. Jason raised a brow and looked between the two. He was about to speak to the Colonel before a second transmission came through his radio, this time only through the speakers within his helmet and -only- to him. "Viper Actual, this is Dagger 1. We found five armed civilians just West of the hospital. They said they wanted to assist. How copy?" The voice of Gunnery Sergeant Kim burst through his helmets speakers. Kim, was the leader of Jason's second scout sniper team; Dagger 1. Jason looked back at the Colonel who was still interacting with the ONI Agent. Jason looked to First Sergeant Pearson and gestured for her to stay put before gesturing for the rest of the marines to leave, however he didn't even make a comment or lift a finger to the Police Officer. Seemingly forgetting about him for the moment. Jason peeled away from the group of ONI agents and the Colonel and stepped ten or so paces back before talking into his helmets microphone to Dagger 1. " Dagger 1, solid copy. Identify whether or not they are hostile. If they prove to be friendly, either send them on their way or direct them to the hospital, but do not let them interfere with you. If they prove to be hostile, lethal force is authorised, how copy?" Upon finishing the communication Jason back over to the ONI Officer and Colonel. Chief Warrant Officer Brendan Bowers ONI Section III Tactical Field Operative "Apache" Laketown Memorial Hospital Laketown, Esperanza II, Panis Eterni System, 2551 Tag(s): LlauChief Warrant Officer Bowers or Tactical Field Operator 'Apache' as he was now known, was at the rear of Lieutenant Commander Moretti's team through the sewer and the bottom of the hospital. Making sure nothing were to creep up on them on the way. Brendan was wearing the Office of Naval Intelligent's variant of the Marine ODST armour, with a recon spec helmet. He was also armed with a silenced M6C on his hip and a standard MA5C equipped with a silencer in his hands. He was also packing the extended sixty round MA5 magazines in order to hold more ammunition. Now inside the Hospital, Bowers waited for a few moments at the very back of the pack to make sure everything was clear and that noting would sneak up on him or the group. Satisfied after a minute or two he turned around and worked his way to catching up the the Lieutenant Commander. Once he had re-grouped and found his spot by the Lieutenant Commander's side he'd look around. Spotting a few marines as well as a Captain and Colonel. The Colonel was interacting with Moretti whilst the Captain seemed to be issuing orders. Brendan narrowed in on the Captain and his HUD identified him. Cpt. Bowers, M. Jason. No... Way...Flight Captain Kara Palmer 120th MEU // 29th Marine Aviation Squadron // Call Sign: Delta - Triple Eight Laketown Church, Rescuing the Jar Heads Laketown, Esperanza II, Panis Eterni System, 2551
Tag(s): Sentinel, Tento, edto, roach"Everyone's in!" Kara's crew chief and door gunner, Ben Warren yelled up the blood-tray. He also used the COMM so Kara could hear him through her helmet speakers. "Alright, let's get out of here." Kara took a seat in the pilots chair and took the Pelican's controls. She looked up through the cockpit window to make sure there was no enemy flyers around and instead copped a full view of the underside of a Covenant Destroyer descending into the planets atmosphere. Shortly after she spotted this a transmission came through her COMM's letting her and the rest of the MEU know that the Covenant was currently pulling back to regroup. That could only mean one thing, the Covenant were planning on glassing the town with the MEU still inside. Kara didn't have time to think, she instead lowered her head and lifted the Pelican up off the ground. The hospital is where she had to get in order to drop off the wounded and additional marines aboard her Pelican. Luckily the hospital was just a few blocks up from the church itself. And with the Covenant regrouping that meant there would be little Covenant air support within Laketown itself, hopefully. --------------------- It only took a minute for Kara to take the wounded and marines where they needed to go, the hospital. When they got there she touched down in a small car park literally twenty meters from the entrance to the hospital with the rear of the Pelican facing the door in order to make it easier to unload the wounded and funnel them into the hospital itself. Kara leaned out of her seat to open up the sliding door that separated the cockpit from the blood-tray. In order to watch the marines unload themselves. She noticed that a few doctors and some nurses along with two corpsmen, rushed out of the hospital in order to assist the marines inside the Pelican with their wounded.

LT. CMDR Moretti, Michelangelo N. ONI Tactical Field Officer Inner Colonies // Panis Eterni System // Esperanza II // Lake Town // Lake Town Memorial Hospital 2551 Tag(s): Faclan , MrKill , Wax™ , Therex After finishing his message, he glanced up at Captain Bowers, and stared back at him when the marine finally said, " My mission is at the hospital right now." Moretti heard him say, and the Italian gave him a polite, but slightly sarcastic smile in response to that, as if to say, 'No shit.' He was about to respond, but stopped when the Captain and the other marines were receiving a transmission over their battalion net. So, instead, the Lieutenant Commander stood there silently waiting. He took a few moments to study the Captain intently through his tactical glasses with black matte frames and light gold-colored lenses he chose to wear for this Operation, instead of a helmet, like the other ONI operatives; though, he did have his helmet buckled to his belt, just in case. He reached up to the right side of the frames, and powered them back on after having them off since arriving at the hospital's basement to bring up the HUD to reveal the man's identity. 'Captain Bowers...' He thought. Looking back at him curiously. 'Bowers? Is he related to Apache?' He was thinking if Brendan had mentioned to him about a brother during a discussion he had with him on the Prowler, while planning for Gold Team's mission. The Chief Warrant Officer should be regrouping with them as soon as he made sure the basement and the entrance to the sewer were clear of hostiles. He could ask him after, but he figured he'll find out soon enough. There were more pressing issues to deal with, but what an interesting way to have a family reunion, he thought with a quiet scoff of amusement. He started to glance around when Apache finally rejoined them, but then he caught a glimpse of a taller man approaching him and the others. It wasn't long until he realized it was the Colonel making his way down to see him. “Well, good,” he muttered under his breath with a small grin, “Now I don't have to search for the man himself in this dump.” He took a few steps forward to meet him, and before any of them spoke, he noticed a couple more ONI agents who arrived at the hospital. He would have to speak to them later to give them their orders, he noted, while he powered off his tactical glasses and rested them on the top of his head when he looked up at Killinger. " Just in time for the real 'game' to begin, Lieutenant Commander." Moretti grinned some more at that, and chuckled lightly. " Colonel Killinger." The man introduced himself to him, as he offered to shake his hand, but the more the ONI officer looked at him, the more he could see that the Colonel was angry...and rightly so. If it was with him, he really didn't mind. He was rather used to it. The Tactical Field Officer glanced down at the hand and shook it firmly, as he looked back up at him to speak to him. “ Colonel. It's been a long time since I saw you at that bakery and bistro place in New Alexandria, Reach, hasn't it?” While adding, “As for the real 'game' to begin...” He smiled, with a mix of amusement and anger at the situation he was in. “You know what? It's bloody brilliant how things progress when you talk to someone who really seems like they want to meet and talk with you, but you don't trust them at all, and then it doesn't surprise you one bit when they...do this.” He thought about it for a moment. “I wonder what they have to prove, and if they are just...compensating for something. I digress, nonetheless.” “These attacks have caused me to change my plans, for the most part, but I'm hoping you can still help me, once I can explain it to you in more detail,” he continued, “We can discuss about it here, or talk further somewhere privately. It shouldn't take long.”

The Chief Petty Officer was silent for a few long moments as he pondered Chen’s question. No, not a question. Silas considered it an order. A challenge. Kill two birds with one stone. Make it work.
“We split the stone…” The Spartan spoke up. Turning in his seat to face both Chen and Jethro as much as possible, he began to elaborate. “Of course, I’m not suggesting our strike team disperse to pursue separate objectives. Given what we’re facing, any “divide and conquer” strategy would come up short one way or another. Yet after getting this far, I’m hesitant to abandon ‘Kasai now. I’m sure we can all agree we might never get another chance like this. However, we can’t ignore a direct order either. So, would it be acceptable if we delegate this new objective instead?”
Silas nodded his head at Jethro as he continued, “Gold Two is already aware of this, but we actually have additional SPARTAN reinforcements inbound. When the Heretic presence was first confirmed here on Esperanza-II, I requested backup from the rest of Gold Team in anticipation of this mission. Unfortunately, because the Covenant appeared out of nowhere and started their invasion, we were forced into action immediately, before they arrived. ETA could be any time now. Honestly, I expected to have heard from them by now.”
At this point Silas was now focusing mostly on delivering this pitch to Chen, as the ONI field operative was the superior officer. “It’s a gamble because we don’t know when or even if the rest of Gold Team shows up in time, but I believe our greatest odds of success would be to let them handle this new HVT while we stay focused on ‘Kasai. That’s how we kill two birds with one stone.”

Llau MrKill Therex Wax™ Chris Hyde - ONI Linguist Hosptial Hai Colonel <3.Thankfully the ONI team was finally out of the stinky sewer...Though actually was it that bad? There wasn't any trigger happy ONI hating marines down there. Or murderous ODST's with knives the size of their over inflated pen...egos. And there was no zealous heretics eager to pew him dead because he was a human or overzealous Covenant members eager to do the same in the service of some long dead gods. All that was wrong with it was that it smelt...Couldn't they go back? But no, no they couldn't. Not when Tactical Field Officer Fuck-boy was leading them. UGH. At least the Marines didn't fire on them which was good, and big man Killinger soon showed up too. Dang. Impressive. He hadn't even attempted to read Mikes pad as he sent out more messages. It would just add to the rage. But when Killinger finally made his way over and shook Mikes hand Thomas and Laura just rolled their eyes and made little scoff noises to the Colonel. Meanwhile Hyde just waved a little with a; "Nice to meet you Colonel, I hope the remainder of this operation goes well for everyone."The first big thing he had said in awhile! The Colonel probably easily able to tell that Hyde was a lesser Agent of some kind since he had less fancy armor and just a Magnum to his person. Looked like a neeeerd. But then he went silent against as the 'big boys' talked. This was probably going to take awhile. So instead he distracted himself with, as carefully as he could, taking a step to the side so he could more easily look at the handle of the energy sword that Mike had taken earlier. Unfortunately he could only see one side if it and couldn't look too closely without making it look like he was staring deeply at Mikes ass. But there was something written on it to be sure. It looked like a name...half of one. Ongree something. But there was something else there too. Something...forerunner? Guh if only Mays was here. She would be able to work it out. It was probably something silly and unimportant - like just meaning warrior. But it would give him something to do while he waited for something else to happen. Or till the Covenant descended upon them.

Colonel Johnathon Killinger 120th Marine Expeditionary Unit At the hospital "Colonel. It's been a long time since I saw you at that bakery and bistro place in New Alexandria, Reach, hasn't it?" Moretti said, reminding John about home once more. He kept the feelings of his home suppressed, it didn't bode well for him if he started thinking about his family life and situation when his kids were growing up. "It has, hasn't it." John tried to reply, but the words never really made it past 'it' before Moretti continued further. "As for the real 'game' to begin... You know what? It's bloody brilliant how things progress when you talk to someone who really seems like they want to meet and talk with you, but you don't trust them at all, and then it doesn't surprise you one bit when they...do this. I wonder what they have to prove, and if they are just...compensating for something. I digress, nonetheless." Moretti added. They need to compensate by having some Marine in their lives, John thought. A seven-six two in the face, two in the belly and another dozen in the chest. "These attacks have caused me to change my plans, for the most part, but I'm hoping you can still help me, once I can explain it to you in more detail. We can discuss about it here, or talk further somewhere privately. It shouldn't take long." Moretti finished. John took a brief moment to think of his own reply. "Is it my ears only, or does it really matter who listens in on this conversation?" John asked, "..'Cause we might not have the time for a private discussion. Covenant fuckers' dropping a warship on top of us." John finished. He also knew the material information ONI Agents usually carried also came with a hefty 'classified' tag on it as well. "Nice to meet you Colonel, I hope the remainder of this operation goes well for everyone." An ONI agent spoke, considerably less geared than others. He had arrived with Moretti's team, so John just assumed he was there for a reason, and didn't think much of it beyond that - then he read the information on his HUD John's HUD had immediately tagged him as a civilian attachment, but John missed it at first. He was so used to seeing a rank next to the name, but there was none this time. If the man was working for ONI as a civilian... well at least he was armed. ' HYDE' was the name that popped up, reading information from the friend-or-foe tag, and he appeared to be a man of knowledge. John could appreciate someone who knew what he was doing, but John didn't begin to assume what it was; if they stayed out of each other's way, everything would be fine, John's job was to lead a MEU the best he could. "Hello," John said, giving a polite nod in return. "For your safety, agent, I'd recommend grabbing a heavier weapon." He added, knowing that the hospital would begin collecting weapons and ammunition from the casualties that were brought in. However, John also knew that the magnum on the agents hip was extremely potent, as long as it was the M6D series. "Right," John stated, returning his eyes to Mike. "Not enough time for chit-chat."

Patrol Officer Jason Sorelson
Laketown Memorial Hospital
Jason zoned out paying little attention to the conversation between the spooks and the Captain and merely focused on playing small games of Tic Tac Toe in his head, though he noticed several others arrive into the room he didn't really care he noticed when the Captain began to move. Thus he followed diligently being the Captain's navigator he stayed close as the man barked orders through his helmet radio on a frequency Jason couldn't access. He continued moving behind the Captain and staying out of the way of marines that were moving waiting for the Captain to say something to him.
Corporal Connor Lawton 153rd ODST, 2nd Platoon, 2nd Division, Callsign Angel Two-Two, Fireteam Krieg. Across from Laketown Memorial Hospital
Connor was out of the back of the pelican as soon as it opened and began unloading the wounded as a group of Doctors and Nurses ran over and helped. He helped the more seriously wounded of his fireteam, Sara, to the ground and began helping her walk to the hospital. She groaned in pain as she stepped off the back of the pelican as the adrenaline from earlier was wearing off. As they got to the hospital another Marine came out from inside and took Sara's other arm helping more, as they carried her up the stairs towards a chair. Soon after Connor jogged back out towards the pelican to assist with moving to the rest of the wounded to the hospital.

Petty Officer SPARTAN-097 Gold Two Esperanza-II, Panis Eterni System Tailing HVT: Revuul 'Kasai
Jethro's helmet twitched in Chen's direction when the agent spoke. Seeing as Silas was generally better at those questions than him, he stayed silent for a few seconds and glanced at Gold One. He knew the other Spartan was mulling it over in that non-linear way of his, and quickly too. But the solution was simpler than many of Silas' other ideas, and he wasn't particularly surprised by it even if it hadn't immediately come to the forefront of his own mind.
When the rest of Gold was brought up, he nodded slightly. Jethro remembered, of course, but given that they hadn't shown up by now, he'd filed that information away and stashed it in the back of his head. If the remainder of Gold wasn't on the ground--or, well, in atmosphere--then they didn't count in his mental planning. After all, another Spartan couldn't help against a squad of Covenant if they weren't actually nearby, so it was hazardous to plan around someone who may or may not be there.
“...I was gonna say 'attach high-explosives to the stone and blow up the birds', but that works too,” said Jethro dryly. He switched tack as he continued. “Assuming it takes the rest of Gold another...fifteen, twenty minutes to get here and deploy, we won't be much faster if we head to Lake Town now. And if they arrive in the next five or ten minutes, so much the better.
“Sure, Commander Moretti and the Marines have to keep holding out for longer, but capturing or eliminating an Elite Shipmaster won't deter the Covenant much or for very long even if they're commanding the ground troops. Their chain of command isn't that fragile. They'd still be highly dangerous either way.”
After saying his part, Jethro propped one leg on his knee to better hold his SAW as he continued fiddling with it.

Sergeant Henry "Salt" Dawes 153rd ODST, 2nd Platoon, 2nd Division, Callsign Angel Two-One Lake Town, The Hospital Regroup, Marines!
Tags: roachman34 Wax™ tento125 Sergeant Dawes took off his helmet in the cramped Pelican, and held it under his right arm as he held on to the strap connected to the ceiling with his left hand. Pelicans never fazed him, not after his first drop in an HEV pod. Flying was second nature to him at this point and he moved instinctively with the motions of the drop ship. He looked at all the faces and helmets with him. ODSTs and Marines, equally downtrodden. It had been a quick, but brutal, battle at the church. Some of the Marines clutched pictures of loved ones, others prayed. Still others just stared blankly ahead. Mostly privates; this had probably been their first live combat scenario. Personally, Salt preferred to pray. He was a devout catholic as his adopted family had been. Under his armor, he wore a rosary. He closed his eyes and looked down, saying a silent prayer for himself, the wounded, and the souls of the dead. He prayed that God would have mercy on them if they were non-believers, and that the believers reached Heaven. It was a solemn moment aboard the Pelican; everyone aboard engaged in their own reflection on the events that had just transpired. A short while later, the Pelican slowed, and they touched down. The rear door opened, and a host of doctors, nurses and corpsmen rushed towards them. Salt helped support a wounded member of CPL Lawton's fireteam, Sara. They moved off of the Pelican and towards the hospital. His helmet back on his head, Dawes nodded in thanks in the direction of the pilot of the Pelican.

Kadeius chuckled at Pela's question. This T'vaoan amused him greatly. "You may call me Kadeius. Now I need to deal with my warriors, they seem to be having an... issue." He said, nodding his head in the direction of two Jiralhanae on the verge of exchanging blows. He walked towards them, and punched both in the gut. "Save this aggression for the Heretics." He snarled.
As he left the fight and walked back towards Pela, a tune caught his ear. Softly, a Jiralhanae was singing a war hymn. It was not an Ashwrought tune, rather it was of Bloodstone origin. He remembered hearing it many years ago when he traveled to the desert with Tyseus. He moved towards the source and saw a major crouching in the back. " I am Kadeius, Captain of this pack. I do not recognize you, Bloodstone. Who are you?"

[Inner Colonies: System: Panis Eterni Sector: Esperanza II: Current Location: Surface: Lake Town: Town Square/Quad: Community Center: Direction: Southwest: Second Floor: Captain Mark Seamus ‘Spade‘ Sorelson]
“Sir, Corporal Mitchell. What’s the status of our support?” he’d heard Corporal Fredrick Mitchell ask, having brought his team with him to the second floor.
“We’re not getting support. Orbital positions are currently contested by the Covenant, and until the Fleet’s able to break through we’re it. Mr. Benson with some of his ranch-hands, cowboys and some other volunteers have opted to help. It was their choice and trust me when I say that if we had the choice I wouldn’t have civilians on the line. We’re supposed to be defending them, but they barged in here during the exchange with the Elites from those pods and the dropships….”
“Guardian X-Ray to all MEU Callsigns, the Covenant are pulling back to regroup. All assets are to push forward and engage the regrouping Covenant. I say again, all MEU assets to push forward and engage the covenant as they regroup. Guardian X-Ray out,” blared the voice of the MEU’s XO through his helmet-com over the encrypted MEU-wide frequency. “Echo Actual, all Callsigns in the Quad, this net. You heard the orders. Engage the Covenant. All assets this Quad forward, but watch yourselves. Say again, cover yourselves. Watch each other. Corpsmen, insure the safety of the wounded and load them into Aardvarks if you can or get them out as best you can. Pass it by Captain Duncan of the Fifty-Third Combat Engineers first. Echo Actual, out,” Mark said, issuing the orders to the rest of the companies within the Quad over the encrypted frequencies before turning his attention to Corporal Mitchell. “Gather your team, and the other marines in those sectors. Gather any and all ammunition that you can carry, with the rest of your kits,”
“Captain, if you’re moving out to tangle with the Covenant we’ll stay and cover you,” Mr. Lance Benson said having turned his attention back to the marine Captain while stepping behind a wall near a window.
“Your men are not marines, Mr. Benson. I can’t order you to come with us, and I won’t. My initial orders were to keep any civilians I came across safe which includes you, your son and your volunteers….” Mark began.
“Like you did at that warehouse?” Lance asked. “What? You were there?” Mark asked. “No. I wasn‘t there when you and your team raided the place, but I was scheduled to drop a cargo delivery of mining and machinery parts off at that warehouse. My truck was delayed by a blown tire, but by the time I was able to make it only smoking remains and riddled walls remained. I knew the UNSC had been the only entity capable enough to mount a raid like that and with that kind of firepower,” Lance explained. “I had my orders, Mr. Benson. I’m sorry that you didn’t make any money that night after delivering your cargo, but I had my orders and I carried them out. Those men, and women operating out of that warehouse had been Insurrectionists,” Mark replied. “I know. You don’t have to justify or defend your actions, Captain. I only wanted you to know, and I’m not angry about that anymore. I have a planet to defend, and people that count on me,” Lance said. “That’s fine, Mr. Benson, but I want you and your people to get into the sewers. We have a Covenant ship inbound, and if you’re here whomever is operating that thing may take that as a sign to blast this place. For your safety, and those that count on you, get to the sewers,” Mark said, knowing he couldn’t have ordered a civilian or any civilian. “Corporal Mitchell, gather your marines. All of them, and let’s move out. We don’t have much time,” With that said, the aging Captain grabbed a few stick grenades from a nearby crate before sliding them into his rucksack and grabbed extra magazines stuffing them into the same rucksack and on his combat webbing before double-timing it downstairs with the rifle in hand careful of Covenant fire. Taking Mark's suggestion, Mr. Benson gathered his son with the volunteers including the ranch-hands and the cowboys to gather their gears before making it to the sewers and out of the Quad to safety.

Corporal Connor Lawton 153rd ODST, 2nd Platoon, 2nd Division, Callsign Angel Two-Two, Fireteam Krieg Just exiting Laketown Memorial Hospital
Connor walked out through the doors of the hospital, after making sure Sara got treated and stepped onto the now busy pavement of the hospital parking lot. He took off his helmet the day was growing hotter and more riddled with death by the minute he had just heard the call that the UNSC forces were to take the fight to the Covenant, and upon hearing this he would say over squad comms, "Xander, James meet me out front." And soon after Xander and James were coming out of the front doors as well, Xander having a freshly bandaged arm, and James looking slightly better he would turn to them and say, "You two get some food and then take a quick break then we get back to it, understood?" He said, looking at both of them his helmet now being held by his side with one hand.
Xander would nod and scratch at the bandages on his arm saying, "Got it, see you in a bit."
James nods and would slide his helmet off saying, "Understood Connor." And with that, they walked back inside leaving Connor to stand by himself and look at his surroundings and step out of the way of a tank that was parking itself. He walked over to a nearby bench and sat down slouched forward and watched as everything happened around him and he decided to go through the day's events in his head, staring at the ground.

Sergeant Henry "Salt" Dawes153rd ODST, 2nd Platoon, 2nd Division, Callsign Angel Two-OneLake Town, The Hospital Everyone needs a friend...
Tags: roachman34 Salt accompanied the wounded inside, and helped where he could. Holding down a patient, holding up IV bags, and the like. He needed to be doing something to keep his mind off of the war outside the doors of the hospital. He had been in many engagements before, but this one was different for some reason. It was the burden of the "what if" scenario, he supposed. He kept telling himself that he can't save everyone, but it didn't help much. But assisting with the wounded did. The hospital was full of activity, Marines running back and forth, doctors calling names, groans from the wounded could be heard, and a group of marines ate quietly in the cafeteria. Salt noted some of his own men amongst them. He thought about eating for a moment, but decided against it. He wandered a few empty hallways for a minute, looking into empty rooms and wondering about their previous tenants. A few rooms had been converted into gear lockers for the Marines as well. Soon, he headed back to the lobby. He saw Corporal Lawton leaving the building. He hadn't know the guy long, but he was one of his brothers in arms. He figured something was up, and he went after him, nudging aside doctors, and almost tripping over someones helmet. Salt went out into the parking lot and saw Connor hunched over on a bench. He walked over to him and asked, " Mind if I join you, Corporal?"

Corporal Fredrick Mitchell 120th MEU, ECo./2/15, 1PLT-2nd Squad, Fireteam Bravo Community Center, Lake Town Esperanza II, Panis Eterni System, 2551 “Bringing the Heat”(tags: Cabel and Guardian Cat of Yappa's ) “ We’re not getting support. We’re supposed to be defending them, but they barged in here during the exchange with the Elites from those pods and the dropships….” Captain Sorelson replied to the Corporal. Mitchell knew better than to protest so he held his tongue. Without the lack of support, the UNSC held frontlines will soon fall to the constant assault from the Covenant. Shortly after, a transmission from the MEU-wide frequency filled Mitchell’s ears. The orders sounded ridiculous and there was no doubt that good men and women will die if the orders sounded exactly how it was heard unless some nut managed to hack into the secure line. The Fireteam Leader looked up at Sorelson when he spoke with a duplicated voice of the Captain’s coming through his headset. “ Echo Actual, all Callsigns in the Quad, this net. Echo Actual, out.” After the transmission, Sorelson looked over at Mitchell and ordered, “Gather your team, and the other marines in those sectors. Gather any and all ammunition that you can carry, with the rest of your kits.” “ Yes, sir!” Mitchell replied. Turning towards his own team he said, “Restock on ammo and grenades if needed. We’re pushing the Covenant back to the shit hole they came from.” Then, the Corporal walked over to the ammunition stockpile that was set up near the center of the community center. He grabbed a few pre-packed BR55 magazines and filled the empty magazine pouches on his LBE vest. After that, he took six extra BR55 magazines and eight M301 40mm HEDP grenades and stored them in his medium-sized backpack. He also added a few red and green colored smoke in case he needed to mark targets or friendly positions for Air-Support. “ Corporal Mitchell, gather your marines. All of them, and let’s move out. We don’t have much time,” the Company Commander said. “ Yes, sir,” Mitchell replied once more. “Bravo Team, on me!” Mitchell ordered as he followed the Captain as he made his way downstairs towards the nearest exit. While heading down, Mitchell switched to the squad frequency and said, “Alpha and Charlie, this is Bravo, we are Oscar Mike with Tornado Actual. Get kitted and meet us by the entrance. Secure our exits.” “Copy that, Bravo. Be advised, Sierra Lima is down. I repeat Sierra Lima is W-I-A,” replied Alpha Team. “Shit…” Mitchell muttered. It was time to take initiative. Opening a secure line on the platoon frequency which should be heard by 1st Platoon’s Lieutenant and Staff Sergeant, Mitchell said, “ Be advised, this is Echo-One-Two Bravo. I am taking command of Two Sierra. Sierra Lima is down. I repeat, Echo-One-Two Bravo is taking command of Two Sierra. Sierra Lima is W-I-A.” Checking the ammunition counter on his BR55, it was full at 36 Rounds so he was good to go. This was not the first time he had to take command of the squad. When Bravo Team arrived to the exit, he said to 2nd Squad, “Charlie, take a transport Hog and get the Sergeant and any wounded to the hospital and rendezvous on our POS when you’re done. Alpha, we’re joining HQ Element and make sure Sorelson stays up, got it?” “Roger that, Mitchell,” each team leader replied before heading out. Gunnery Sergeant Michael J. Kim 120th MEU, 49th Recon Platoon, Sniper Team Dagger 1 Hospital, Lake Town Esperanza II, Panis Eterni System, 2551 “Heading Up.”(Tag(s): Wax™ ) " Dagger 1, solid copy. Identify whether or not they are hostile. If they prove to be friendly, either send them on their way or direct them to the hospital, but do not let them interfere with you. If they prove to be hostile, lethal force is authorised, how copy?" responded Captain Bowers “ Solid copy, Viper Actual. Dagger One out,” Kim replied. At this point and time, it was up to Kim to let the civilians go or treat them as Prisoners of War. Taking into account that the civilians claimed they wanted to help earlier and since they did not open fire at the Sniper Team when they saw them, it was less than likely that the civilians would be willing to shoot at the two Recon Marines. Kim lowered his weapon, but kept it at a low-ready as a precaution. “Stand down, Sergeant. They’re civilians,” Kim said to Campbell. Campbell slowly lowered his own weapon, not revealing the slightest amount of trust towards the civilians. For all they knew, the individuals in the alley could’ve been looters or Insurrections. “Get to safety and avoid the streets, but be careful at who you point those weapons at. This is a warzone,” Kim ordered and advised the civilians. “Thank you, sir!” exclaimed the civilian in the front of the group of five. “We’ll head down to the sewers.” “Don’t call me ‘sir.’ I work for a living,” Kim remarked. The Gunnery Sergeant could sense Campbell giving a smirk under his balaclava. The the scout snipers backed out of the alley and cleared a path for the civilians to leave. Kim kept his eye on them while Campbell was maintaining security towards the street. When the civilians were out of sight, Kim turned slightly to give Campbell a light squeeze on the shoulder to indicate he was ready to move. Campbell gave off a thumbs up with his left hand and proceeded towards the street. Both of the NCOs took a corner when they reached the end of the alley; Kim covered the northern street while Campbell took the southern street. They waited for a good ten seconds to scan the area before declaring both sides clear and using bounding overwatch to cross the street. With speed and swiftness, the snipers made it to the hospital and was greeted by a group of familiar and fresh faces. “Gunnery Sergeant Kim and Sergeant Campbell, 49th Recon Platoon,” Kim said as he approached one of the many entrances to the hospital that were heavily guarded by 12th Recon Marines and 15th Marines from the Battalion Landing Team. “Come one in,” said a Sergeant that he recognized from one Dagger Team 1’s training mission. “It’s good to see you guys here. Be advised, though, we got Brass and ONI Spooks in the building.” “Who?” Kim asked when he made it inside the hospital. “ C-O of 120th. The ONI Spooks, unknown. Our IFF only classified them as UNSC Navy and they had those nice looking helmets on so we couldn’t even see their faces.” “Great. Point me to the stairs, Sergeant. I need to get to the roof of this building.” “You got it. Go down this hallway and make a left. Stairwell Echo should be on the right hand side right after you make the left.” “Thanks,” Kim said before the sniper team took off again. They were jogging lightly, but they had to dodge the amount of wounded being carted in or out of the many rooms on the first floor. “Jesus…” Campbell said as they passed through the personnel who were treating the wounded. Majority of the wounded were military. Some were screaming, some were applying pressure to their own wounds as the nurses, doctors, and Corpsmen had other serious wounds to take care of, and some even laid lifeless on stretchers, on the floor, or in hospital beds. “Focus, Campbell,” Kim said after he heard Campbell’s remark. When Kim made a left turn, he spotted a green sign with a staircase and the letter “E” along with it. “Found it,” Kim said and opened the door. The multiple flights of stairs made Kim’s thighs burn, but it was not worse than getting shot by plasma. The sniper team spotted a few Marines in the stairwells and they looked like they were guarding the entrances to each floor. The Gunnery Sergeant was able take a peek through the viewports of the door and found civilians and nurses moving about down the hallways. “Civilians…” Kim trailed off while continuing the walk up the many stairs. By the time Dagger 1 reached the roof, they were breathing heavily, but were able to calm down after a few seconds of deep-breathing to restore the oxygen supply in their bodies. “Next time… we’re taking the elevators… I’m starting… to feel… my age,” Kim said in between breaths. “I concur…” Campbell added. “You know damn well that you got plenty of youth in you, son. Now enough chit-chat. We got some shooting to do.” Kim opened the door to the roof and scanned around with his M7S. Campbell did the same. While scanning the area, he looked for a good sector to take position to would be most effective and most protective, if not concealable, but it was not suitable for neither. Sure, they had a good view on key points of Lake Town, but the roof was very exposed to Covenant air attacks. Scanning some more, Campbell spotted an Air Conditioning Intake unit to the right of their position and gave Kim a heads up, “Got an AC unit to our two o’ clock.” “Good find,” Kim complimented. “Let’s hope we don’t get roasted by Covenant air.” “That pun was terrible.” The scout snipers stowed their M7S SMGs and unslung the SRS99 Rifles off their backs. Taking a sniper sit within the shadow the AC unit casted, Kim pivoted the bipod and adjusted the zeroing of his scope to 300 meters as a base engagement range. Campbell knew the deal so he didn’t need any guidance. After a few minutes of setting up, Kim opened a secure line to Captain Bowers and said, “ Viper Actual, this is Dagger 1. We’re set on the roof of the hospital and have good eye heading West of the Hospital. How copy?” "What the fuck is that?" Campbell said directly after the transmission. Kim looked up and saw a Covenant ship breaking through the clouds and his eyes widened. " Be advised, we have a Covenant ship entering the atmosphere and it's inbound towards the AO!"
Ensign Richard A. Chen ONI Section III Tactical Field Operative "Panther" Aboard Black Cat Subprowler “Shadow Sky”, In Pursuit of HVT Esperanza II, Panis Eterni System, 2551 "Split Ends"(Tags: SuperCommando , Spartan 999 , & Llau ) “ We split the stone…” SPARTAN-009 replied to Chen while adjusting himself in between the Agent and SPARTAN-097. “ Of course, I’m not suggesting our strike team disperse to pursue separate objectives. Given what we’re facing, any ‘divide and conquer; strategy would come up short one way or another. Yet after getting this far, I’m hesitant to abandon ‘Kasai now. I’m sure we can all agree we might never get another chance like this. However, we can’t ignore a direct order either. So, would it be acceptable if we delegate this new objective instead?” The Gold team leader gave off a nod towards the direction of his battle buddy to the right of Chen. “ Gold Two is already aware of this, but we actually have additional SPARTAN reinforcements inbound. When the Heretic presence was first confirmed here on Esperanza-II, I requested backup from the rest of Gold Team in anticipation of this mission. Unfortunately, because the Covenant appeared out of nowhere and started their invasion, we were forced into action immediately, before they arrived. ETA could be anytime now. Honestly, I expected to have heard from them by now.” Chen nodded in silence. He was wondering where the rest of Gold Team was before the operation even started. There was usually four SPARTANs in a team which meant that the other two were on standby. Gold One continued where he left off by saying, “ It’s a gamble because we don’t know when or even if the rest of Gold Team shows up in time, but I believe our greatest odds of success would be to let them handle this new HVT while we stay focused on ‘Kasai. That’s how we kill two birds with one stone.” “ ...I was gonna say 'attach high-explosives to the stone and blow up the birds', but that works too,” SPARTAN-097 pitched in. “ Assuming it takes the rest of Gold another...fifteen, twenty minutes to get here and deploy, we won't be much faster if we head to Lake Town now. And if they arrive in the next five or ten minutes, so much the better. “ Sure, Commander Moretti and the Marines have to keep holding out for longer, but capturing or eliminating an Elite Shipmaster won't deter the Covenant much or for very long even if they're commanding the ground troops. Their chain of command isn't that fragile. They'd still be highly dangerous either way.” “ Then we’ll split. I’ll have the Black Cat drop y’all off wherever y’all want to and then rendezvous with Moretti at his twenty. Gold Three and Gold Four could assist the main forces until they can get green lights to grab the secondary HVT,” Ensign Chen said after hearing what the SPARTANs had to say. “ If you need any support whatsoever, I’m sure you can have another SPARTAN to reinforce your firepower. In the meantime, Gold One, you have command authority of your team and make this grab a smooth one. The Black Cat will be supporting Moretti’s team in transportations, but I’m sure you guys can obtain a ride out on the field through unconventiona means.” With that said, the Agent pulled up is TAC-PAD and sent a reply to Lieutenant Commander Moretti’s previous message.

Llau MrKill Sentinel BetaWülf Chris Hyde - ONI brain Hospital Moar guns."The advice will be taken as soon as possible Colonel." He wanted to add that he hoped he wouldn't get in the way but he had probably said too much already. Mike would probably get all angry that he was 'wasting time' when they had a mission to complete. But I mean come on Mike had done a whole lot of time wasting already with all of his reordering of the other ONI teams on the ground. Apparently going after whoever was on his tac-pad instead of going after the Herectic leader. That was odd. Though he could have been wrong he had only been able to see bits and pieces of the pad messages as they went. Though knowing Chen and Gold Squad ( GOLD SQUAD ) they were probably finding some way to technically complete the mission Mike had gave them while also doing the other target. They were fantastic over achievers like that. But the Colonels words carried some good advice. So while he and Mike returned to talking Hyde would slooowly sidle to the side and soon find himself a M7 SMG and a few spare magazines. Thankfully his light vest had a space for them and he would walk back toward the group doing his best to attach the magazines after attaching the compact weapon to a single point sling on his vest. Truely EVERY member of ONI was trained DA BEST. Pela Gel - T'vaoan Commando On Route to suspected Herectic Base Quite the team we got.It soon became apparent that some of the apes on the transport for the scouting were not all of Kadeius's tribe. That worried Pela. She couldn't place these new ones and if they were a new group that Kadeius's people they may not listen to orders...all of their plans could fall apart if this new group decided to act to type and run out screaming blood before they could sneakily assault a patrol. "Good to meet you Kadeius - do what must be done." That would mean getting these new apes in line if they were in a position to screw it up. But thankfully it was soon revealed, after a trouncing of his own unruly troops that this new group was Bloodstone. Papa G's boys. They knew how to act. So instead Pela moved over to Roh, with his likely vital Arrestor over his back, and patted his shoulder. The other Kig-Yar in the transport still getting ready for the mission "Good to see you here Murmillo Gel - you know the mission?" Unlike her sister Pela didn't seem happy to see Roh here. There was probably a good reason for it, but hard to get that kind of information out of the quiet one. (I think Roh got on the Phantom BetaWülf - let me know if he didn't.) Eugine - Hairball Mystic Covenant staging area glhf. The Chief talk had gone pretty well - and Eugine had thought it had helped Garatus get over his feelings of the world they may ruin. Clearly since he was now talking about raiding part of this planet. But eh, the blade lizards demanded this and so they had to follow their orders. For now at least. So instead the Chief had finished the talk and then moved off to lead a raid party. Nothing Eugine could help with really since he wasn't one of those kids trying to wheelie a chopper while shooting at flying targets. Damn kids. He could however help the morale of the raid part with a blessing! So he moved over toward where the choppers were gathering for the assault, with a megaphone so everyone could hear him over the sound of the engines and howling, and quickly thought of a good speech for the troops. Trying to keep in mind what he and Garatus had discussed earlier. "Bloodstones!" He waited for the roar of reply. "Ashwrought!" A smaller roar but one quiet loud voice rang out, probably that new Chief. He seemed like an alright kid, just a bit bullheaded for Eugines liking, he couldn't help but think that he would meet some terrible end on a quest for glory and leave his clan in a bad spot. Ah well, that was his prerogative, and Bloodstone could always step in if needed. But speech! "And those taken on as mercenaries! For now think of yourself as one of these grand tribes! The Tribes that have conquered and slew any who stood in their way! Nothing will stop you and nothing will slow you do, so ride! Ride for the glory of yourself, your family, and the Jiralhanae people!" He finished with a circular wave of his staff over his head before moving it side to side horizontally in front of himself. A traditional simple blessing of conquest for the assembled fighters. (Poor Tyseus P: .)

Staff Sergeant Shinji Akiwara120th MEU, Echo Company, Fourth Platoon.Lake Town HospitalSigh......Tags: edtosivareeAs the Pelican touched down at the hospital, first squad slowly made their way inside. Out of the 14 that were at the church, 5 were wounded and 3 got killed. That was the total tally for First Squad Fourth platoon, including Sergeant Alexandria, who still hasn't woke up yet. Doctors, nurses and navy Corpsmen rushed out from the hospital to help the wounded. A nurse came up to him to look him over, but he waved her away, promptly pointing towards another wounded ODST, limping off the pelican under support from her mates. There were marines that need more attention than him. The injured were quickly taken inside, Sam and Sergeant Alexandria were put on different tables side by side before being whisked away by a score of white clothed doctors. As for the dead....... they were placed in body bags. 4 wounded and 3 dead...... Shinji thought to himself. That makes only 5 guys left fighting in first squad. First squad was severely understrength now, and no word about 3rd and 4th squad's casualties as well, though Shinji surmised that they suffered similar casualties. "Aron," he said to the Corporal, who was now leaning his back on the wall, obviously exhausted, "You're in charge of 1st squad now" Aron just nodded in acknowledgement before heading off to the cafeteria to find something to chow down. Shinji considered joining him, but decided against it. As we went outside to make a call. " Echo 4 Sierra to Echo 4-3, do you read me?" he said over the platoon's channel. Only static replied. " Echo 4 Sierra, Echo 4-3 do you copy?" he tried again, this time on the Company's frequency, still no answer. " This is Echo 4-3 Bravo, I read you....." came a voice hissing over the comms over the sound of gun fire and plasma bursts. " Sarge's bought it staff, sniper took him out" Bloody hell..... " Make your way towards the hospital, we've established a base here" " Copy that Staff" the voice hissed before the line went silent. Suddenly, the voice of the Colonel is heard over the MEU wide frequency " Guardian X-Ray to all MEU Callsigns, the Covenant are pulling back to regroup. All assets are to push forward and engage the regrouping Covenant. I say again, all MEU assets to push forward and engage the covenant as they regroup. Guardian X-Ray out ." Before long, another voice blared over the comms, this time, over Echo Company's frequency " Echo Actual, all Callsigns in the Quad, this net. Echo Actual, out." Shinji instantly knew who that was, it was Captain Mark Sorelson. Quickly he keyed his mike again, " Echo 4 Sierra to Echo Actual, First squad 4th platoon is at the hospital at less than 50% strength, while the rest of us are all over the damn town. Where do you need us over?" he didn't add that 2nd squad, and the platoon's Lt are still on board the Iowa. With nothing to do, he sat down at a bench, and looked to the sky.....only to find a Covenant ship descending from orbit towards them. Ahhh fuck

Captain Jason Bowers 120th MEU // 12th Reconnaissance Company // Call Sign: Viper Actual Laketown Memorial Hospital Laketown, Esperanza II, Panis Eterni System, 2551Tag(s): A120
Captain Jason Bowers looked back to the ONI Officer and the Colonel and then to his First Sergeant. He gestured the Sergeant over and pulled her in close. "We'll let the Colonel deal with this, re-group with first platoon and then second platoon and order them outside the hospital." "Yes Sir." First Sergeant Pearson said before slinging her BR55 and jogging to relay the orders. Jason then opened up the company wide encrypted COMM's. "Viper Actual to all call-signs... I want third and fourth platoon's to leave their current positions and make your way to the large grassland area outside the hospital, I want you to start digging trenches and setting up defensive positions, I want this hospital air tight from Covenant, out." Shortly after ending his transmission the COMM's blared to life again. “Viper Actual, this is Dagger 1. We’re set on the roof of the hospital and have good eye heading West of the Hospital. How copy?” There was a slight delay between sentences before Dagger 1 was back on the line. "Be advised, we have a Covenant ship entering the atmosphere and it's inbound towards the AO!"Jesus Christ...
"Solid copy Dagger 1, watch over our men on the ground as best you can." After saying this Jason started making his way to the exit of the hospital to see this Covenant ship himself. As he exited the hospital he was greeted by a bunch of nurses doctors and navy corpsmen rushing through the entrance with a tonne of walking wounded. He stepped to the side and watched them pass. As he did so everything seemed to slow down. He watched as blood fell all over the floor and closed his eye's as he smelt the familiar smell of burning flesh, enough to make one sick. He shook his head and brought himself back to reality before making his way back out to the front of the hospital where he was greeted by the arse end of a Pelican. He didn't take much notice to it at first and instead looked up to the sky, he squinted so as to see through the glare of the sun and was gifted with the underside of a huge Covenant warship, possibly something like a destroyer or frigate. "My god..." 2nd Lieutenant Justin Jay Jenkins 120th MEU // 12 Recon Company // Call Sign: Viper-One Actual Laketown Memorial Hospital; Arriving via Warthog Laketown, Esperanza II, Panis Eterni System, 2551
2nd Lieutenant Jenkins slammed on the break of the M41 mounted Warthog he 'borrowed' from the LZ's 'ranking-staff'. He stepped out and looked up to the sky, one hand lifting up to hold down his boonie-hat and the other hand dangling by his side holding onto his BR55 with a tight grip as he gazed upon the large Covenant warship lowering itself into atmosphere. As he did this he was bumped by a marine who was off loading wounded from a nearby Pelican.
"Sorry..." The man said before proceeding to rush off.
"Hey! Do you know where I can find Captain Bowers?" Justin said chasing after the man, whilst yelling over the sound of the Pelican engines.
"Who?" The man replied.
"Bowers! Captain Bowers, you know where I can find him."
"Oh... He's over there." The man said, jerking a thumb towards the Captain who was standing just outside the entrance of the hospital looking up at the Covenant warship.
"Thanks." Justin said before making his way over to the Captain.
"Captain Bowers." Justin said, approaching the man.
"Can I help you soldier." The man replied.
"2nd Lieutenant Jenkins Sir, I'm here to relieve your first platoon's CO as he's been ordered off the front line by the battalion staff Sir."
"What! Why am I only just hearing about this."
"We've tried contacting you Sir but there's a lot of commotion going on back at the LZ with the Covenant and the Looters and that big as ship lowering itself onto our doorstep." Justin explained.
"So you're taking over the platoon." Bowers said looking over Justin as if he were sizing him up. "This your first deployment."
"Yes sir." Justin replied.
"Alright... Meet up with your platoon on the grass over there, I want you to take them into the town to push out the Covenant whilst they make their retreat. Advise Lieutenant Hunt that I want he reinforcing you as you make the push... Keep me updated on your progress and keep your men alive." The Captain said, briefing Justin on what he had to do.
"Yes Sir... I'll try." Justin said.
"Don't try Lieutenant... Do it." The man said before patting Justin on the shoulder. "If you'll excuse me I need to talk to this pilot."
"Yes Sir." Justin watched as the man moved past him and made his way to the rear of the Pelican, exchanging a few brief words with the 'door-gunner' before the gunner pointed to the cockpit. Jason gave the man a thumbs up before making his way up the blood-tray before knocking on the cockpits door.
"Okay..." Justin swallowed in a breath. He then pushed off and made his way to the large grass area outside the hospital. He ducked briefly as he heard a large explosion in the distance but picked himself up soon after. Sucking in another breath he looked over the grass area where it looked like four whole platoons were congregating, two of which were digging foxholes into the grass, one of the idle platoons looked like it was being briefed by their CO whilst the other platoon looked like they were waiting for theirs, what they didn't know is that, that CO was now Justin. Someone they never met before and someone they have no experience fighting with. Justin sucked in another breath and made his way over.
"Is this first platoon?" Justin asked as he jogged over, addressing one of the Sergeants, after asking the question two other Sergeants made their way over, they all came up on his HUD as: Gunnery Sergeant Daniel Strong, Sergeant Rachel Wood and Sergeant Nathaniel O'Dare, falling behind them were a couple of corporals and then soon enough Justin had the entire attention of the full fifty man platoon just with one simple question.
"Yes Sir... What'd'ya need?" The Gunnery Sergeant said.
"I'm your new CO." Justin said, shortly after a dozen or so soldiers began talking amongst themselves.
"Where's Winters?" Sergeant Wood asked.
"Been pulled off the line and reporting to the battalion staff." Justin explained.
"What why?" Sergeant O'Dare asked.
"That's bull shit dude." A Corporal said from the back.
"Look at him, he doesn't even look like he's seen a Covenant up close." A Private First Class, who was covered in dirt and a bit of dried blood said.
"Fuckin' replacement CO dude." Justin heard a second soldier say under his breath but loud enough to still hear.
"Stow your shit and shut the fuck up, all of you." Gunnery Sergeant Strong said, looking at those who spoke out.
"Listen... I don't like this any more than all of you... You don't know me and I know none of you... Yes I have not seen combat before..." As he said this there were murmurs within the platoon. "BUT. I am going to do my very best. I don't have the time I would like to get to know all of you, your names, your faces or your stories. But I am going to have to ask each and every one of you to trust me." After speaking he looked at all the individual faces as it fell silent.
"We've got orders to push the Covenant back whilst they try to regroup, Lieutenant Hunt." Justin gestured to the woman who had recently taken his side after briefing her own platoon, which had gathered around him when he made his little speech. "...She will be reinforcing us on our rear as we make our push... Now, there is no real bearing on any Covenant locations or fortifications so we're going to push out from this location to the West, through the main strip of the town and towards the Church, which I hear was under heavy Covenant attack not too long ago... We take out any stragglers we find along the way and then hopefully we can interrupt their retreat and reorganisation... Right NOW we have the upper hand, let's use it." Justin took a moment to look around at the various faces of First and Second platoon. Few of them seemed a lot more accepting to Justin's position of command now than earlier.
"Alright... Let's move out... Sergeant Strong's squad take point, O'Dare to the rear..." Justin said shortly after falling in behind Sergeant Strong at the start of the column into Laketown, Justin also gave Lieutenant Hunt a nod as he passed by. Justin soon after opened up his platoon's encrypted COMM.
"Two-One to all callsigns, heads on a constant swivel, staggered column all the way to the Church, 2-1-1 on the left, 2-1-2 on the right, 2-1-3 on the left..."

Corporal Connor Lawton 153rd ODST, 2nd Platoon, 2nd Division, Fireteam Krieg Outside Laketown Memorial Hospital
Connor was sitting outside reflecting on the day's events when a familiar voice spoke. "Mind if I join you, Corporal." Connor shook his head and scooted over on the bench.
As the Sergeant sat down the sound of something very large entering the atmosphere. Connor would look up to find a Covenant ship breaching the clouds, was a huge Covenant ship.
"Holy fuck." Is all Connor muttered before slamming the helmet back on his head and sprinting for the doors of the hospital past a police officer and a marine Captain, Connor would skid to a halt in the cafeteria and shout, "Krieg, get your shit together we are getting ready to move out," then he would be sprinting back out towards the front door, to watch as the ship came from orbit.

Patrol Officer Jason Sorelson Out front of Laketown Memorial Hospital
As they were walking the marine Captain seemed to hear something through his radio that made him immediately turn towards the front doors. Jason followed as the man went outside and began looking towards the sky. At that moment, Jason knew that it was all going wrong, a huge Covenant ship was breaching the clouds and was coming into view over Laketown. He would stare as it came down his mouth open slightly behind his riot helmet.
He would turn to the Captain and say, "What do we do now?" Then he would return his gaze to the ship staring in awe.

LT. CMDR Moretti, Michelangelo N. ONI Tactical Field Officer Inner Colonies // Panis Eterni System // Esperanza II // Lake Town // Lake Town Memorial Hospital 2551 Tag(s): Faclan , MrKill , Wax™ , Therex , SuperCommando , SPARTAN-A120 , Spartan 999 , охотник , roachman34 , Bippwatt ((OOC: Sorry for the late reply, everyone. I am a busy...sheep at the moment. <.< )) "Is it my ears only, or does it really matter who listens in on this conversation?...'Cause we might not have the time for a private discussion. Covenant fuckers' dropping a warship on top of us."“Yeah, that warship is quite the wonderful convenience, isn't it?” Moretti replied sarcastically. “I really - “ Now it was his turn to not be able to get another word in, when Hyde decided it was a good time to talk over him with a friendly greeting. He quietly sighed. "Nice to meet you Colonel, I hope the remainder of this operation goes well for everyone." Hyde spoke to Killinger. The Lieutenant Commander didn't bother to look back to share his disdain with Hyde speaking over him, while the Colonel replied to the Section One Agent, but he was inwardly becoming annoyed with the linguist; though, he didn't visibly show it. They were already wasting even more time standing here, and saying something to Hyde would be counter-productive on his part. "Not enough time for chit-chat." Killinger said to him. “Obviously,” Moretti grunted, thinking, If I wasn't rudely interrupted by the damn nerd...before continuing on, “I was going to tell you that it'll be fine if I speak to you here, but the information is highly classified information. So, I'd appreciate it if no one here flaps their gums about it to anyone else.” Glancing behind Killinger, he motioned for the two recent ONI arrivals, Scope and Hawk, to stand near where he was so they can listen in and so he can issue them orders right off the bat, as soon as he was finished talking to the Colonel. “At the beginning of the year, I was contacted by someone who has taken a field agent's data-pad, who I assume has been KIA by the one who found it,” he continued, “At first, I was going to block their access, but the more I talked briefly with them, the more I found out who this unidentified person was. The person is question turned out to be a Sangheili...a Shipmaster. Long story short. This Shipmaster is interested in us humans, and would like to defect from the Covenant, and wishes to speak to me. Obviously, I don't trust them, and what they think is a fake capture is going to be a real one.” “Apparently, the moron is also an impatient jackass, and dumb enough to send waves of attacks at Lake Town,” Shrugging a bit. “Why would anyone, who wants to be captured to talk and leave their group, attack those they want to defect to, is beyond me. This is why I don't trust anyone from the Covenant who wants to defect. But hey, they want to play their games with me, I can play too.” He smiled again. “Currently, there are two SPARTAN Gold Team members on the ground, with two more on the way with the UNSC Fleet,” he explained, “I wish they arrived sooner when we requested for SPARTAN reinforcements for our original HVT, but we had to make do, and this Shipmaster wasn't someone I would expect to be here, either. Plans changed, but if the other two from Gold can arrive in time, then we can split them to go after the Heretic leader who they have been after, and then the Covenant Shipmaster, who is on the ground now too.” “Seeing as this Shipmaster has the agent's DATA-PAD on them, I can access their location, and find them that way.” He paused, glancing down at his TAC-PAD for a moment to bring up the map of the area. “They still seem to be perched on a hill, overlooking the town. Probably in a Phantom. Won't be hard to miss.” He sent the location to the Colonel to use. Moretti looked up at Killinger. “What I would like ask you, Colonel, if you can provide additional reinforcements to aid both Gold Teams in their retrieval, and clear out any enemies near our two HVTs. The Shipmaster can be easily identified as a friendly, by using the DATA-PAD as a friend-or-foe indicator. So no one won't mistaken them for another actual target to kill.” While he waited for the man's answer, he looked back down when he received a message from Chen. The Tactical Field Officer replied back.

Jiralhanae Major Fenarious Phantom Transit Warriors
Fenarious continued to hum the tune for a moment, but noticed that he himself had not gone unnoticed. He looked up when he heard movement, seeing an Ashwrought Captain approaching. Fenarious remained crouched as the large Jiralhanae approached, observing the Captain curiously. He listened as the Cpatain, Kadeius apparently, spoke to him. He could not outright tell if there was hostility in the Captain's voice or not, but it was best to be cautious. Fenarious rose slowly, rearing to his full height, roughly five inches below that of Kadeius.
"I am Major Fenarious of the Bloodstone Clan, Captain, I was given leave by the War Chieftain Deathless to join you on this hunt" Fenarious said, his tone dominant but respectful, neither hostile nor passive.
Fenarious made a point not to mention his relation to the War Chieftain, has he avoided association with his father on the battlefront. He wanted to make his way by his own hard work, not by undue delusions of entitlement. He left his mace resting upright on the ground, easily within reach but he made no move to grasp it.
"I hope that isn't a problem?" Fenarious asked, genuinely hoping not to ruin a fellow Warrior's hunting trip.
T'vaoan Murmillo Roh Gel Phantom Transit
Roh stood straight as the Phantom gently rocked through the air, watching Pela and Kadeius talking. He perked slightly when he heard a Bloodstone song being hummed, it reminded him of his time on Garatus's vessel in past days. How the crew would celebrate when they obliterated some sort of obstacle or fended off Pirates like... well like a Jiralhanae swatting away pests. He never knew how much one of those damn Jiralhanae could drink in one sitting... insanity!
He was distracted from his reminiscing when Kadeius took note of the other Jiralhanae in his pack's Phantom. Roh hoped it wouldn't devolve into a fight as so often was the case with the Jiralhanae, but they were on a mission so hopefully they'd be civil at least. Roh was however taken from these thoughts when Pela approached him, placing an arm on his shoulder. He looked over at her and nodded respectfully, listening as she spoke to him. Her tone was... displeased at the very least despite her words seeming , making it quite obvious she was not happy to have him along for the mission.
"Of course, Commando Gel... and the pleasure is mine to behold" he said, remaining professional and even polite, but his tone made it clear her own had not gone unnoticed. He would not return the seeming passive animosity however, as he would hold himself to a higher standard if he was to be a future leader and a proper example.
"A fishing trip, no? Catch a Heretic, get what information we need, and spill it's guts if needed" Roh said, making sure he had the basic gist of their mission down.

[Inner Colonies: System: Panis Eterni Sector: Esperanza II: Current Location: Surface: Lake Town: Town Square/Quad: Community Center: Direction: Southwest: Second Floor: Captain Mark Seamus ‘Spade‘ Sorelson: Status: Pushing Forward against the Covenant]
“Echo Four Sierra to Echo Actual, First Squad Fourth Platoon is at the Hospital at less than fifty-percent strength while the rest of us are all over the dam town. Where do you need us, over?” chimed Staff Sergeant Shinji Akiwara‘s voice over his direct encrypted frequency and over the helmet-com-unit. Mark had known Shinji had taken his squad out to the Church to have assisted the defenders there and apparently had been transferred to the hospital according to Shinji‘s transmission.
“Echo Actual to Echo Four Sierra, the rest of Echo Company with Golf Company and the Fifty-Third Combat Engineers will be heading out of the LZ forward against the Covenant re-group. Hopefully, we will rendezvous at the hospital. Rally with Captain Bowers‘ Twelfth Recon and other marines and ODSTs present at the Hospital. Conserve your strength, and keep your marines safe. Take pot shots at the Covenant, if you can. Harass the Covenant while we kick in the backdoor. Break,” Mark knew from experience an under strength Squad in a forward push would have had disastrous results. Though, he knew Shinji would surprise him and had surprised him in the past. “Do what you can, but don’t over exert yourselves. Improvise. Echo Actual, out,”
The aging Captain with marines around him coming from the Community Center and those throughout the square including armor in the form of Gauss and M41 equipped Warthogs pushed out of the Square, as Mark kept his rifle at the ready before him . Every now and then, Spade with his marines exchanged fire with the Covenant as they fell back. The aging Captain carefully made his way out of the Square leading the marines behind him, but kept tactics in mind. “Echo Actual to all Callsigns coming from the Quad, this net. Don’t let the Covenant have a clear shot. Use your environment. Echo Actual, out,” Mark said over the encrypted frequency.

Private Jonah Hauser 153rd ODST Company ESPERANZA-II, PANIS ETERNI SYSTEM Unknown Unforeseen Consequences ---- Private Jonah Hauser let out a grunt as his blurred vision slowly returned back to normal. The world is spinning and dark dots appeared on his sight. He noticed a slight crack on his helmet, however, it does not interfere with the helmet's HUD. Slowly standing up, he reached for the pod's emergency lever. He grabbed onto the red handle and summoned all his strength to pull it. In an instant, the canopy of his pod shot outwards, colliding with a wall of a nearby building. "Darn it, how long was I out?" He asked himself asked hoisted himself up from his seat and slowly righted his balance. The ODST scanned his surroundings. He immediately pulled out his rifle and made a quick sweep of the area, no threats. He released a sigh as he shook his head, trying to release himself from the stunned state. Fog of smokes and smell of death billowed everywhere, preventing him to see further. Gunfire, both originating from bullet and plasma weapons can be heard from a distant. He stared around and found himself standing on a cratered ground; the source of it lies on its center, his own HEV Pod which was badly ruined by the impact. Jonah knows that nothing will happen to him if he just stand there. He decided to leave the area, jogging off to a random direction. The horrifying whine of a Banshee can be heard overhead. His jog broke into a sprint as he tried to get away from the Banshee's reach. He was lucky, not being seen by its pilot. Jonah ran deep into the woods, not knowing where he was going. He was separated from his squad, which was either dead or missing in the violent fighting. Either way, he has to regroup with the main fighting force and join the fray with them. Jonah covered a few kilometers after a short period of time. His adrenaline fueled him for his long flight. It was not long after when he ran across an Elite standing over a dead Marine. The good thing though, a green rectangular radio can be seen beside him. Stopping on his tracks, Jonah couldn't decided what to do next. He can't just go full metal jacket on the Alien and ended up dead but he couldn't just run away again, it's too late for that. If he does not call for support, he might ended up sharing the same fate with the dead Marine in the hands of the Elite's comrades. So he wasted no time as he put a knee on the ground and aimed for the Elite's spine. He squeezed the trigger, the Assault Rifle spoke. He wasted an entire clip on the Elite, annoying it. "WORT WORT WORT!!" It yelled. Slowly whirling to his direction, it opened fire. Jonah rolled to his left, avoiding a stream of flying blue lights that almost toasted him to a crisp. He felt his right hand touching the earth covered grass of the ground. He immediately reloaded his rifle, throwing the empty clip and replaced it with a fresh new one, then proceeded firing once more. The shielding of the Elite sparked, indicating that the superior Alien is now vulnerable to attacks. Switching to his M6D Magnum Pistol, he squeezed the trigger and punched five holes on the Elite's chest. Blood oozed out of its wounds as it fell on its knees. Approaching the downed Alien, he aimed at the defenseless and helpless Elite's face in a pointblank range and fired a shot through its skull, its head disappearing in a plume of purple gore of flesh and blood. Jonah was lucky to survive another encounter against their kind once more. Kneeling beside the green radio, he lifted up the receiver to his ear and pressed a couple of buttons on the dialler, setting the frequency to any ODSTs in his company. "This is Private Jonah Hauser of the 153rd ODST Company, can anybody copy me over?!" He asked. "This is Private Hauser can anyone copy me?!" He yelled. Soon, he stood up. He knows it was stupid to bring a radio since the Covenant could trace him but for now, it would be wise to stay on-line and listen to any oncoming transmission from the UNSC Force. Carrying the radio, he finally set off on his own, hoping for the best, and praying that someone could hear him amidst all chaos. ((Guardian OOC: blackshot : The M6D isn't a rifle, it's a magnum. Just a heads up.))
