Mikey took a deep breath, looking out at the warehouse from the tree line.
It was a big place; it had to be. On the side of one of its massive walls, he could just barely make out the fading logo of the food company that used to store everything here. He knew it was a stretch to imagine that this late after the Outbreak, there'd be anything left in there--or, worse, that there wouldn't be any biters inside. Still, though...it looked pretty much undisturbed from the outside, though, so what was there to lose?
Drawing his pistol and readying it, Mikey cautiously approached the building. He'd never been here before the Outbreak; he'd never had any reason to. Glancing around, he jogged over to what appeared to be the main door. He grabbed the doorknob and took a deep breath, then pulled and threw it open, leveling the pistol into the opening. Shit! Inside was dark; Mikey flipped on the light on his pistol. It looked clear inside.
Another deep breath. Taking his switchblade in his left hand, he set it beneath his pistol. Glancing over the inside of the first room with his flashlight, he took a few more cautious steps forward. The place still looked undisturbed.
This first room appeared to be some sort of employee lounge. No refrigerator or kitchen, just some comfy-looking chairs. Looking around the walls, he saw one door proceeding into the warehouse. He walked over and opened it, trying to prepare himself for whatever was on the other side.
