Hey Yappa's.
I haven't logged in since March 5 (I checked before logging in today), which is around eight weeks ago at this point and I would like to formally apologize for my extended and unannounced hiatus. This was due to a number of things. Some are reasonable excuses, but most are not. I feel bad for being out of touch for so long, so I just want to tell everyone I'm sorry and offer a bit of explanation.
I mentioned in my D&D OOC thread that I had gone away for a weekend trip, and shortly after my return is when I went dark. This is because I've had a lot going on in real life that I've been putting off, and when I got back from that trip all that stuff that had been snowballing became too heavy to hold back. It involved multiple projects at one of my two jobs (some still ongoing), quitting one of those jobs entirely, some social obligations, and looking into going back to school and actually finish a degree of some sort (still to be determined). *Sigh* Grown-up life sucks.
Also there was a span within those eight weeks where I fell really sick, sicker than I've been in years in fact. But all that aside, there's still no good reason I couldn't have just checked in every once in a while. I got into a viscous cycle where I said to myself, "okay, I'll focus on doing this today, and then post tomorrow". But then tomorrow would come and I'd say the same thing. I've also been weak in avoiding distractions such as Xbox and TV. And unfortunately, the longer I went without posting, the easier it got to continue not posting, to the point where I found myself thinking, "Oh shit! A whole week disappeared and I still haven't posted yet!".
So to conclude, yes I may have put off posting here for some legitimate reasons, but I also haven't been responsible enough to check in sooner either.
I must apologize in particular to my D&D group, because without the DM (me) there can be no game. Ever since we started the idea of playing over the forum this past winter I've forced myself to be super active in order to provide timely responses for you guys, so by the time that weekend trip happened I was actually a little burned out but still determined to finish our sessions before taking a break. Yet when all this other IRL stuff started to hit the fan, posting here was the first thing to get dropped and I broke my promise to stay active as long as I had active players. And (most) of you were supremely active, and for that I was/am extremely grateful. If some of you chose not to continue playing in the future because of this, I won't hold that against you. I deserve that.
Things have settled down for me a little, for now anyway. Like I said I do still have some ongoing projects I'm working on, plus I'll be starting a new job in the beginning of June, but I'm going to try to recapture enough of my old dedication and responsibility to not be a total stranger.

I also would like to touch on a few notes on observations of the site I've made now that I'm back.
Fade's Yappa's Newsletter - Very cool! I like that very much and think it's a great addition to the site.
Songkran Writing Contest - YEEEESSS!!! Finally somebody other than me made a contest! I'm totally gonna contribute a story! I wish we could have more community events/competitions more often. Maybe the staff could take the initiative to set up something if regular members don't.
M9 Progress - I'll admit I'm a little surprised (but only a little) that it STILL isn't out yet. Don't get me wrong, I'm fine with that because it means I haven't missed anything. But it's been in the works for MONTHS even before that botched launch, and now it's been MONTHS after that and it's STILL not ready? From a design standpoint, that's just really... bad. Can't help but wonder what it'll be like once it's finally out.
