Life Before the Apocalypse - Rory is a kid fresh out of high school who had no plan for life whatsoever. He, and his friends Barney and Maisie, spent every day after class playing video games, hanging in the park, or partying. They planned on peaking in high school and just winging it from there. For about 180 days things were going well, all three had minimum wage jobs and plans for living arrangements. That is until a fight drove the three of them apart. It was over the location of their future apartment.
In the end each of them moved to their respective locations, which is when the outbreak hit.
Outbreak Day -
When an undead human crashed through Rory's apartment door he knew something was up. Prior he was on a full day video game binge as a result of missing his homies. He leaped to his feet in his boxers and wife beater only to be rushed by the rotting corpse. He kicked out, escaping to his room. As it clawed at the door he put on his freshest outfit and backpack and leaped out the window. From there he ran until his legs burned.
After the Outbreak -
Rory, after the first few days, realized that being a nomad in the zombie apocalypse wasn't as cool as it seemed. It was just extremely physically draining. So instead he found himself a quaint two story convenience store with a half-house on top. The owner had died and turned in a fatal battle with a walker, leaving his crowbar on the ground. Now it was Rory's weapon. For a short while that was cool two, but he wasn't nearly as satisfied with being bored as he was before. No, something was missing. He needed his friends. To find them, he began his journey back to his original home.
There, he found his mother and father both dead to self inflicted gunshot wounds. A bloodstained note read,
'To whom it may concern,
My wife and I have been bitten by these creatures. We have seen the effects and do not wish to live that life. The pain is unbearable and I fear we have little time. Rory, if you come home, we love you.
Watch out, there still may be one in the house.'
The walker that had killed his parents then leaped on him. It nearly sunk it's teeth in, but Rory turned the tide of the battle and crushed it's skull in anger. Now he had lost almost everything and desperately needed to find his friends.
