Can I play as an Spartan?

Hi, I am new having just joined not too long ago. I was wondering if I would be able to create and RP as a SPARTAN character? Looking for the later SPARTANs III and above. That is the only thing I am interested in and so I was wondering if I can.

The staff team will be able to tell you if a SPARTAN slot is open or not.

However, I think it is important to note something.



Yappa's looks at the Halo Universe differently. We see potential in telling untold stories from a perspective not offered in current canon material. For this reason most of the users who are/were primarily UNSC play Marines, ODSTs, ONI Agents, Naval Officers, etc, etc. The 'human' aspect of the war away from the novels, games, movies and comics is where we tell our own story (for the UNSC side) on this Halo role-play.

Since, canonically, there were only a limited amount of SPARTANs until the SPARTAN-IV program came along the war was actually largely fought by non-SPARTAN combatants. It was the Marines, ODSTs, Navy Officers, ONI, etc, etc during the entire war that held the UNSC together and defended numerous colonies with either success or failure; the UNSCDF branches were all a major reason the UNSC was still holding out by the time Reach was attacked and destroyed.

It's the story of the typical humans that Yappa's focuses on rather than the perspective of a SPARTAN mowing down dozens of Covenant soldiers with ease.

Short Answer: Technically

Long Answer: Probably not. While SPARTAN-II characters are available, I do believe SPARTAN-III's were discontinued on the site, and SPARTAN-IV's aren't even a thing in the current time.

To get a SPARTAN-II, you /must/ meet the following requirements.

Three Staff Sponsors
1,250 word Character Biography
5000 word Character RP sample, meeting the requirements and goals delivered to you by the Sponsors.
An Open and Available slot on SPARTAN Gold Team, which is the sites SPARTAN Team.

Kill however is quite correct. It also often takes months to make a T6 that has a hope of being accepted. Your best bet, especially being a new player is to play either a UNSC, or a Covenant character. You would score a lot of browny points by playing a Covenant Character

Wooooo Aliens, lots of choices if you wanted to be an alien but not a Covie if you wanted. And the aliens are clearly da best! Who wants to be a smelly boring Human when you can be a sweet alien?

Spartan IVs can be roleplayed in Post War, but are non-canon as of now for time progression reasons.

Nah, I'm not a fan of playing as alien races, and and SPARTANs are what set Halo apart from the rest of the military genre for me. I may play as an ODST instead.

That would be perfectly acceptable. After a little bit of time, you might get your sponsors.

You could also play as an Spartan IV in Side Missions or Sandbox. Give it a test run, get to know the people on site, stuff like that. If you need aliens I would be happy to join and do a thread with ya.

You will need to have a tier one to tier three approved first, and then you need sponsors. And a massive word limit. And it'll take ages to be accepted. And there are also limited SPARTAN slots until post war.
