Woooo moar possible Post War RP from that chicken guy!

Heres the basic story I thought of last night while durping around on Guild Wars 2 and Warframe;

The time this thread would be set would be near the end of 2557 or the start of 2558. So Halo 4 has happened and the Promthians are teleporting around the galaxy being huge assholes to people who want to live their lives as weak squishy organics and not orange data.

The story would find a large class UNSC vessel, dunno specifically what one yet, puttering around doing security and look outs for those dastardly Covenant Remnant bastards when they get a UNSC distress call from a planet nearish to them. Upon arriving they find it to actually be an Alien settlement that just happened to have a UNSC distress beacon with them. Initial surface scans show signs very similar to a Promethian attack and a large portion of the population is injured or dead from the attack. Against a lot of the desires of the bridge crew the Captain of the vessel decides to offer aid to these aliens. 

Knowing that another attack could strike them too if they were on the planet the wounded alien settlement is instead shuttled up to the UNSC vessel to receive aid and protection against possible Promenthian attack.

A few hours after the Aliens are picked up the UNSC ship finds what looks to be a Promethian Artifact on the far side of the planet. Probably the source of the problems for the settlement. But before a plan can be formulated the Captain of the UNSC is killed in their quarters, with seemingly no evidence as to why. Distrust spreads like wildfire throughout the ship from both sides as the Humans think the aliens did it and the Aliens are sure a Human did it to frame them.

But the Promethians are still a threat - will they be able to work together!?


I'm sure Alien fighters and the like (like for example Zin) could have been at the settlement and not just farmers or civilians so they can help take out the Promethians too  and totally not be suspected of murder due to their skills. And obviously Humans are allowed since its their ship.

Lemme know if anyone has any questions or comments about the idea. Would be welcome to hear and try to answer them.

That actually sounds like a cool little side story. I like the line up of it, myself. If time permits I might throw my hat in.

If we get one more person I'll start this up (Or just start it with us three and let more people join later if they want), but if you could Seraph and Kart can you let me know what type of characters you think you may want to play? Will help me write the start of the thread in my head before we begin.

I think I would want try giving a Sangheili home defense member a try. Sort of like a local law enforcement officer, though never quite took part in major scale combat or war college except for maybe some participation during the Schism. Nothing battle hardened I think, but certainly somebody with some experience like local militia. Make 'em female for the heck of it. She'll be maybe something of a small time paragon or something to the people. Compassionate yet stern, orderly with an interest keeping the peace, trustworthy, honorable. Could be charismatic authoritarian figure to act as a representative for the folks she protects or act as an underling to someone who is. Might or might not have a general distrust of Humans and other select species if not doubtful of their integrity of character. It would be a first time meeting a Human beyond what she's only heard over the course of the years.

Sounds like a good character to be on the settlement Seraph - kind of like a local Milita member who was overrun by the glowing assholes. Since this is still a Halo thread I'll probably just have people write a simple profile at the top of their intro post if its not a character they already made and are just using. But shall work on a starting post if we get another person. Or in a few days - whatever comes first.

And you don't need too but you can if you want. As I said in the previous post a simple thing like name/species/brief history will probably work when the thread actually starts. But if you like the character you make for this you may want to make a bigger profile for them.

Oh,ok. Well then, I'll have marine Lieutenant Samuel Baker of the UNSC. It'll be his second combat mission after running into some innies. Always hovers his index finger over the trigger (but not on it) when near an alien, but always pulls a trigger when near a forerunner battle bot (aka promethians and the like)

This looks awesome! Honestly after reading all that, I can't resist but to throw Force Recon Lt. Selva (preexisting character) into this mix. It's all just so juicy and has such great feel to it. *puts on hat* Count me in! ^.^

I'm probably going to revive my old character Driftsoar, a "dissociated" Yanme'e punk well known for being a ne'er-do-well, just the sort to get embroiled in nasty accusations and nastier implications. He'll probably be puttering around this settlement as a poorly-accepted outcast, maybe as a hired thug or thief or patsy.

I already have a post-war profile and might as well give him some use, who knows. I mean it's likely he has some friends (and enemies) in the UNSC so we could make it work, if we can't make it work well I'll go from there.

You can edit your first post to include your profile Rixx, you don't need to make a new one. Also I'm not sure what you are trying to have happen with your post? The settlement was just aliens and all of the characters playing are likely on the ship. The UNSC vessel has other problems to deal with (aliens, captain murders, and Prometheans) and won't have time to try and find another vessel that may not even be near them. I suggest editing it to have your character be on the ship.

Faclan Well on this I was thinking that he's fleeing from another Promethean attack, who knows where. I'll move the profile into the correct place. I'll edit from a specific frequency to a broadband, if that's OK.

I doubt there would be another attack so close to the alien settlement, that's why I suggested him already being on the ship. Having another one and another ship would just cause more confusion to the start of the thread that we should be trying to avoid.

Well his ship is outfitted with a slipspace drive, so it's plausible that he'd be fleeing across space, until his ship's propulsion failed. If he fled on a random vector it's also not unlikely he could run across alien settlements, I'm thinking that his ship is failing, so if you're worried about having another ship his is gonna be gone really soon probably.

Again, you are introducing something completely separate from the main players in the thread and making another conflict, that being Prometheans elsewhere. I would instead appreciate if you just kept to what we have right now. Maybe they can come in somewhere else later but we need to just keep with what we have going on right now until the thread gets going.

Who of the alien settlers not be being held except for the injured in medbay and where would they be? I just wasn't sure where my Sanjelly would be able to start. Maybe with the captives just out of compliance or maybe trying to negotiate some sort release terms.

And Seraph as Zin thought if the former security people wern't being held in the hanger they would probably just be in smaller pockets because they were too far from the hanger. Still with guards and likely restrained but just in smaller rooms. And I suppose your Jelly could be trying to talk to people about release terms but unless she was security lead and is talking to the officers - who are probably busy talking to each other as they try to figure out what to do - dunno how well thats going to go

Just with an accent since he only learned the basics of it lately. But good stuff so far.
