If you've read the pre-missions, mission 9 takes place over a year from our current timeline, which is March 2548. Our worry isn't that you're not going to acknowledge and understand what it means. Rather, we want to be prepared about how disorganized some things might become. Since a year has passed without any major UNSC or Covenant deployments, organizationally things appear to be 'messy'. Characters have aged, a year has passed with no content for the characters to use as information, and no 'fillers' from March 2548 to April 2549 have been set.
We're leaving the entire year open to member missions, so it's important - and I can't stress this enough - important to keep your character updated when these missions happen. Update your bio, remember your characters age they would have been for those missions, rank, skill, personality, etc, etc - that is important to keeping things linear and organized with the introduction of member missions and the reinitialized main mission.
Please be aware and careful what you post in the upcoming main mission relating your characters history. If you post saying your character 'did nothing' for the last year, you've committed to that character doing nothing over the expired time: March 2548 to April 2549, so any user missions created that took place while your character was 'doing nothing' would be inappropriate for them to join.
Likewise, please be careful not to create moments out of thin air, like 'This reminds me of the Battle of XXXX a few months ago...' and then go into explicit detail on how it went. If you update your biography to include that battle, if it wasn't a user-mission, that's all right; but you'd be the only participant of that battle unless you get others to change their biographies as well, in which case, a user-mission would have been more appropriate.
It's also critical to realize how important this is to keeping the progress of your own characters, and the website, moving forward with as minimal confusion as possible. Please, if you have questions on what is and isn't appropriate, message the entire staff team.
Thanks for taking the time to read.
