- Forerunner Facility:
A massive Forerunner facility buried in a treacherous mountain range covered in dense snowed forests.
Near the far ends of the building there are very large rifts in the structure, unpassable by traditional means. However, there is a teleporter on the nearest side to the twin bays (Twin bays listed below). It is located centrally within the facility. However, to activate it, one must activate two lesser terminals; the locations of which are not known with any real certainty. Soldiers and all but the largest vehicles (Elephants, Scarabs) can be transported via the gateway, but it's a one way trip until you reach the control room and restore two way travel to the secondary gate.
The facility is three tiered, the topmost tier is intact in its entirety, but is a seeming maze of narrow corridors referred to as the catwalks. It has several entrances and exits, including on either side of the installation, allowing individuals to circumvent the rifts through the lower tiers; but at the price of leaving their vehicles and heavy weaponry behind.
Alternatively, the lowest tier of the facility (called the pit) can also be accessed as easily as the catwalks, and is fairly easy for vehicles to travel through. However, it is exceptionally dangerous for infantry to travel due to the damage caused by the main rift that tore open the center tier. Pockets of lethal gas and jagged pitfalls dot this lowest of tiers, easily taking down those infantrymen brave (or foolish) enough to attempt it. Most vehicles will harmlessly pass them by with their superior speed and sensors.
The three tiers, from top to bottom are the catwalk, the stage, and the pit. - Twin Bays:
Since the Installation was built symmetrical, or nearly symmetrical, two large bays are present on each side of the building - though they are still quite a ways from the main forerunner facility. These bays, presumably, were used to transport supplies and personnel from the surface of the planet to orbital vessels. The UNSC and Covenant, however, will be using them for their staging areas. - UNSC Staging Area::
