Areas of interest: Mining District
Civilian Areas:
- MerrowPond:
MerrowPond is the most north west town in for the mining district. One of the few areas where the population can enjoy grass, trees, fresh air and a nice breeze. The town itself has a population of five hundred and twelve people, among the higher counts in the district, but employees nearly an entirely commercial work force. Hardly anyone from this town works on the mines, instead they provide regional and local public services. - BeckRidge:
BeckRidge is one of the primary towns housing the majority of the workers from the radioactive mines. Over five hundred people from the towns population work either at the mentioned mine or below at the Titanium Mine. If the residents aren't working on those mines they are working in the towns large industrial areas. - Belldale:
Belldale is a small military village for the families of the UNSC Army, Airforce and Navy deployed literally up the road. As such it is a gated community with walls, check-points and is self-sufficient despite its small size. Crops, a military police station, a wind-turbine power grid and more present themselves for use within the community. - Landhurst:
Landhurst is an agricultural community known for tomatoes and high-protein foods such as chicken and other non-red meats. The community is almost entirely farmers who rely on advanced agricultural harvesters to both water and harvest the crops; on top of the harvesters there is an impressive water canal system to supply enough water to the crops to ensure they grow in the dry environment. - Woodshade:
Woodshade is a shanty town for, unfortunately, the unfortunate. A penitentiary facility, mixed with low income homes, has promoted a sense of gang violence and insurrectionist activity. Though there are only enough homes to house two hundred people the average day population is twice as high than the amounts of homes available. Too add to the niche it is a popular activity to sell illegal recreational drugs. - Felmore:
Felmore is the largest town in the region with just over 1, 400 people. The town, all though it lies in a desert, is rather nice and highly maintained. It is the highest populated area in the region and rates either first or second in all categories, loosing only to MerrowPond. There is a good mix of residential and public services, though a third of the population [give or take] work on the titanium and platinum mines. - Space Port:
The space port is the reason why Felmore is the most populated town. It has vessels capable of not only orbit, but FTL... because it's a space port. This is the destination of any evacuation, so the UNSC has locked down the space port in an attempt to save as many lives as possible - Hydro Dam:
The hydro-electric dam provides power to the region, but it's only a hydro dam... Or is it?
Military Areas:
- Naval Base Cole:
Named after the assumed KIA Admiral Preston Cole, the Naval Base is a small wet navy dock for roughly seven UNSC planetary surface warships. Despite the small fleet size the naval base is rather large. It includes barracks and other facilities for the UNSC Army and local UNSC Marines deployed to the region, enough bunks to house over ten thousand non-naval troops. - Johnston Airbase:
Johnston Airbase is a large UNSC Airforce base centralized around two primary crossing runways. The UNSC Airforce maintains a good inventory of fighters, bombers and personnel to combat any arising threads, either from the Covenant or conflict started by humans. The UNSC Army stores their pelicans and other areal equipment in specified hangers. - FOB Charlie:
FOB Charlie is an abandoned forward operating base on the regions boarder - abandoned by the UNSCMC in 2529 when they were granted living quarters in the naval base. It is still maintained by elements of the insurrectionist cells on the planet, however, and the UNSC is aware of it. The base has nature overgrowth, collapsed buildings and no power supply so the tactical situation wasn't worth loosing lives over. Recon suggests the Insurrectionists haven't used the FOB as a base, rather as a forward observation post themselves. - UNSCS Windsor:
The UNSCS Windsor is a UNSC Wet Navy aircraft carrier. - Space Elevator:
The Space Elevator ferries supplies from UNSC ships to the surface. Usually it's food, water and other supplies for the mines, but being so close to the UNSC military bases, it frequently delivers military grade equipment as well. - ONI Base:
Along the same road the UNSC Military installations have set up, this ONI facility is rather large, expanding - like most ONI facilities - deep into the planets crust. By nature this is a highly secured facility, it has to be due to the information stored within...
