Gruppe Null: the premier military contractor of the 26th century. Founded by Alex von Steuben, a Prussian. Gruppe Null prides itself on providing the UNSC with highly trained and motivated private security contractors, all of whom have prior military or law enforcement experience. Gruppe Null holds the largest contract from the UNSC for security, protecting bases and people across the Inner Colonies. Since the unrest with the Insurrectionists began, Gruppe Null's teams have had a permanent foothold in Reach, where attacks are relatively common, with ambushes happening at the rate of one a week, and IED/rocket/gunfire attacks happening every other day. They hold the contract for protecting all of Reach's major governmental figures.
Vehicles
Bears--Traditional passenger SUVs that have been up-armored and had bulletproof tires and glass installed. Null's standard transport.
Rhinos--Modified UNSC armored personnel carriers. Rarely, if ever, used for transport of VIPs.
Eagles--Civilian versions of Falcons, they provide overwatch and Quick Reaction Force capabilities to Gruppe Null units.
Organization
Strike Team--six Gruppe Null contractors. Five riflemen and a Team Lead.
Strike Force--Six Strike Teams, two medics, one designated marksman, one automatic rifleman, and one Lieutenant.
Battalion--a geographical organization group lead by a Captain. Usually county-sized, unless a metropolitan area.
Division--a geographical organization group lead by a Major that oversees battalions. Usually province-sized.
Planetary commands are overseen by a Commander, directly appointed by the current president (always a Steuben descendant).
THE WORLD (not Reach, surprise!)
So there's a couple choices. We can do New Russia, which, obviously, is based off of Russia and Eastern Europe. We could do Viridis, which is a jungle planet with cultures based off of Southeast Asia. Or we could use Welcome Relief. Iraq and Afghanistan, pure and simple. Miniprofiles for each world are below.
New Russia
The planet is a temperate planet, similar to Earth and Reach. The planet was settled due to its deposits of commonly used metals. The metals are mined, shipped to the capital, smelted into solid blocks, and then put in orbit, put aboard freighters, and shipped to manufacturing planets.
Most residents are of Eastern European and Russian descent. They're a hardy people. Most of them work in the mines or smelters, but a few make a living by scratching out farms. They don't like being controlled by the CAA, and many of them hold no love for the UEG/CAA/CMA/UNSC. Opposition to the anti-Innie effort is heavy.
Welcome Relief
Fuckin dirt. Desert for miles. Twin suns makes for a lot of fun. The population is Arab, African, Caucasian, and Persian. Most people live in population centers, commuting to the factories or working in the mines. Manufacturing and mining is the name of the game. Underground mines yield vast amounts of resources, and they are then shipped to the factories, turned into consumer items, and sold. The people don't look like you, don't talk like you, and don't like you. Opposition to the anti-Innie effort is heavy.
Viridis
A largely jungle planet, varying from mangrove jungle near the beaches to alpine jungle in the mountains. There's also large stretches of elephant grass and gorgeous open spaces. True cities are far and few between, but villages and towns are numerous. The people here are mostly Asian, with some Africans and Pacific Islanders. They're mostly farmers, farming rubber trees, bananas, rice, and fish of all kinds. There is tons of water on the planet, and only two real seasons: wet and dry. The people don't speak your language, they don't like you, and they don't want you there. Most of them. Opposition to the anti-Innie effort is heavy.
