(Sorry Peeps, a closed RP between myself and BetaW involving our Kiggy and Jiralhanae Characters.) Current year: 2545, in SlipSpace range of the Jiralhanae home world of Doisac. Nek Dal, T'vaoan Captain (brand new) In the Captains chair aboard the Speed Streak. Trying not to have a panic attack...Slowly rubbing his claws though his mane of feathers Nek tried not to look at the expectant Bridge Officers around him. Even the chair didn't feel right, to add to the amount of anxiety he was feeling right now. Zahl had given him a pat on the beak and then just up and left. No idea of where the fleet was, no idea where any contacts were, just the data the ship had the knowledge that he was in Covenant space. On top of that they were low on fuel and the engines needed some work and it would be a gamble if it could make it back to their last known location...and the fleet may not even be there. Then they would be completely stranded with nothing. Rubbing his face a few more times he looked over at the navigator officer and nodded a little. "Yes...could you please tell me again what locations are within safe rangeds for our engines and fuel?" "Sure...for the third time; We have a Covenant refit station, the empty blackness of space, a long short of making back to a fleet position, Doisac, and a long shot of trying to make it to the last known location of the BB, and finally a known UNSC world." Nek glanced to the side as he say Kex, thankfully on his feet after being in the medbay for so long, walked into the bridge and nodded at him before sighing again. "Doisac or the long shots seem like the only logical positions...How much cargo do we have?" "Agricultural materials, a few general machine parts, and materials to make tea." "Great...Kex, any ideas? Doisac seems to be the only real chance but I dont know if they want any of those tools. Or if they could help with repairs. Or if they won't just eat us." Nek thought aloud as he went back to running his claws through his mane. Eugenius, Jiralhanae Elder. In his Pack's lands. Enjoying the warm Doisac morning.Glaring down at the bottom of the empty mug he was holding Eugine grunted and set it down roughly. He watched it teeter for a bit before settling back down on its base. Good old Jiralhanae designs there. But with no drink left he turned back to his large quill and returned to writing in the old book that was laid out on the table in front of him. He would get some more of that sweet ale after he finished this page. Shifting his bad hand to be supporting his chin the Elder continued writing about the last proper conquest his Nephew had been on here on Doisac. It was starting to make his wanderlust from his own soldiering days come back after hearing and recording not only the home conquests but the many trophies and notches on the combat knife of his Nephew from his war with the Humans. Carefully setting the quill in the crease between the two pages Euigne grunted as he pulled himself up out of the large chair and retrieved his staff as he moved from the porch of the decent sized Chieftains home and started down the small hill to the Tribe's center totem, a good representation of Rukt's legendary hammer, before he just started to take a walk around on his way to the ale house. He'd left the mug behind but had several canteens in the bag on his waist for when he did arrive. His route would take him past the chopper garages and the fighting pits - as the ale house was the furthest from the center of the Tribe. Euigne had grumbled about this being a stupid place for it but the others had told him it was so the Tribe would stay on task. He wondered if he would find his Nephew during his walk; he needed to inform the youngin about his chronicles and desire to be a part of them, not just the recorder. (Hopefully workable BetaW P: )

Jiralhanae Patriarch Garatus. Patriarch...ing?
Everyday is an early day in the life of a Patriarch. Garatus had already put out three fires, ended four disputes(one of which with the back of his hand), and married an eager pair youths from his House. Currently he knelt before the giant effigy to the God Rukt, praying for a slow day and prosperity to his Tribe. He still had a race the children were having to judge, and several cubs to witness being bestowed a customary blessing when his Uncle got his paws on them. He rumbled deeply in his native tongue in prayer as he knelt, the great shadow of the totem cast over him. He finished his prayer and stood, letting out a relieved sigh. He went to get some Ale to start the day off right, breaking up a pair of squabbling young ones as he went.
As he walked some of the small beasts his people were believed to have evolved from skittered past his large feet, chasing a terrestrial avian. They seemed to have set up a small colony near the refuse dump of the Tribe, at least they kept pests out of his garden and entertained the children. As he walked he noticed his Uncle and changed direction so as to walk beside him.
"Morning Uncle, out for a walk?" Garatus said with a rumble as he walked.
Ibie'sh Kig-yar Security Officer Kex. Stupid Zahl....
Kex was not pleased with their Mistresses actions, quite frankly he loathed her. Especially in this instance, since she left them in such a sorry state and likely was hoping Nek would die. Kex however had only just recently recovered enough to be of any use, and quickly offered his services to the security force for the Speed Streak. He owed his life to Nek, and he rather liked the poor fool. He strode with confidence onto the bridge, respectfully returning the nod to Nek and saluting.
Kex came to stand beside the Captains chair and crossed his arms behind his back, looking straight forward and rather official. He turned his head to look at Nek when conferred to for advice "I would approach with caution, sir" Kex said bringing a display up on his Tac-Pad and handing it to Nek.
"I recommend directing a transmission towards this area" he said, pointing to a scrub environment with a denser population, "They are better supplied and less likely to eat us, adhering to Covenant laws."
"They would also be more likely to trade supplies, specifically the Agricultural supplies and machine parts, they enjoy supping up their Choppers, which were originally farm tools sir" he said as he took his Tac-Pad back before adding on "and I'm sure they'd enjoy some good tea after a hangover, and of course I imagine their elders would appreciate it" Kex concluded, straightening his uniform and making sure his crew patch wasn't crooked.

(Edited Euigne's place to be Pack lands, as I may have helped the earlier confusion D: .)
Nek Dal, T'vaoan Captain (brand new) In the Captains chair aboard the Speed Streak. ...How?
Just mostly staring at Tex as he rattled off all that information Nek was just able to keep his beak from hanging open before he blinked a few times.
"Uhh sounds good to me. Get a message sent ahead of us Yes on the Covenant trade channel. Let the Jiralhanae know that we are Kig-Yar, lying won't help us now, and they we wish to trade for Gekz, a berth, and repairs...How do you know all that Kex?" He started with as Yes started to poke in directions and the ship slowly turned and after a brief warm-up they were on their way to Doisac. The bridge bathed in a dull blue from the tinted windows as Nek swiveled the chair around to face Kex.
"Have you to Doisac personally or on your previous ship? Sorry but up till now you weren't the best at saying much besides being glad to be alive in the med-bay. You are looking pretty alright though considering the state I found you in on that little rock."
----
Tel Yah - First mate; (Ooooh boy this is back when they weren't nestmates P: .)
Yep, already don't like 'im the female Kig-yar thought to herself as she turned her head back around forward after watching Kex flounce onto the bridge and stand there like he owned the place. He was just a damn security member. He didn't even really belong on the bridge. Hissing a bit as she read over reports from engineer she muttered something mostly to herself.
"Little suck-up..."
Eugenius, Jiralhanae Elder. In his Pack's lands. We ordered dinner?
Nodding to his Nephew Euigne glanced up at the sun before replying. "I am, on the way to the Ale house as you seemed to be. Going to need to drink it quick if I'm too make it to the blessing on time...not that drinking it quick will be difficult." He added with a toothy smirk before starting to walk again beside his Nephew. The Elders triple thumping walk meshed decently with the younger warriors one as they went. Every day he was actually living here rather than in the Hermitage where his fellow Shamans and Historians lived he was becoming more impressed by his Nephew. Not only was he a well known warrior but he seemed to handle responsibility at home just as well as on the battlefield. On top of that he also never seemed to waver or tire int he face of work or challenges. Eugine had made a note back in his books to more carefully chronicle his Nephews work - Rukt willing he would be destined for great things.
But he needed to get to the reason he had left the shade to begin with as he glanced to his Nephew as the Brewer was getting them both a mug of ale. "I was actually looking for you as well Garatus, thank you." Taking a swig of the thick liquid he sighed happily before continuing to walk, shifting his staff to his bad hand with the ale in his good hand. "Your tales of conquest from the battlefield warm this old warriors heart and make him long for the thrill of battle, rather than just the joy of recording it."
The two family members were walking past the only modern building, the communications on with a good sized mast out the back, as Euigne continued. "But just showing up near your deployment craft would be an affront to your skill, so I would ask you fi." But he was cut off be a few beeps from the building next to them as after a very short moments a young Jiralhanae lass exited the building and after a quick bow spoke to them both.
"Elder and Patriarch Garatus; a ship of Kig-Yar is requesting permission to land, they wish to trade their stores for repairs and a place to stay." Chuckling at this Eugine took another drink as he smirked at his Nephew. "Look at that, tomorrows dinner is going to walk to the spit-roast itself."
Always the old-fashioned sort, but the Chieftain should likely be informed so a decision could be reached.
(Hopefully that follows the Jiralhanae Pack dynamic BetaW. This was a fun post :3.)

Ibie'shan Kig-yar Security Officer Kex. Well, you see sir....
Kex continued to stand next to the Captains chair for a long moment, his pupils narrowing somewhat when one of the female officers referred to him as a suck up under their breath. Kex turned his head to look at Nek when he inquired about his knowledge of Doisac. "Well sir... it was a long time ago when I was still with those heathens whom stranded me, before you rescued me, for which I am still thankful" Kex said, adding on his thanks for having been saved.
"We were hired on by a Chieftain to run supplies from village to village, and eventually ended up transporting the boss himself to an ill fated challenge for his position... lets just avoid the northern regions of the planet if we can. The jobs we did took half a year so I'm fairly familiar with the species and planet" Kex said.
"Hopefully I'll be able to repay your generosity, sir" he concluded.
Jiralhanae Patriarch Garatus.
Garatus chuckled at his Uncles comment about the ease of his ingestion of alcohol when time was in high demand. "I need a good swig after a morning with this rabble, it never ceases to disturb me how many times I have to explain why not to set the village on fire before it sinks in that it is a poor idea" he said with a sigh. For all the strength and genius of the Jiralhanae, they had their moments when it was easy to understand the First Immolation having happened.
Garatus noticed the scent of fresh ink and became curious, knowing his Uncle wrote about a great many things, which was something he hadn't asked very much about since he was a cub. Garatus pushed open the heavy doors of the Ale house as he wondered if prying into his Uncles scribing would get him a smack on the head from the staff. Garatus drank deeply from his mug of ale, raising an eyebrow when his Uncle revealed he was looking for him. Garatus plopped his mug down and wiped his mouth on the back of his hand as his Uncle spoke of his Conquests in battle, Garatus was surprised he had noticed them.
Before his Uncle could finish speaking the communications hut started transmitting or some such nonsense, followed by a young Jiralhanae woman whom relayed the massage to them. Garatus nodded and bowed his head respectfully "Thank you Warrior, I shall relay the information to the Chieftain" before he contacted his Nephew the Chieftain, Garatus chose to address his Uncle and skirt around the fact he was friends with a Kig-yar.
"You'd be more than welcome on the battlefield Uncle, you're a good shot with an Impaler and your skill as a Shaman would be spiritually boosting for myself and my Warriors" Garatus said as they passed the communications building.
"Chieftain, a Kig-yar vessel is requesting to land and trade goods in return for their time here and repairs, what shall we reply?" Garatus said as he spoke into a private channel he had with his Nephew, after a long moment the thick voice of his Nephew responded. "Tell them they can land, but if they step out of line I'll be picking my teeth with their bones!" he said, being an old fashioned Chieftain who lead mostly by force.

Nek Dal, T'vaoan Captain (brand new) In the Captains chair aboard the Speed Streak. Well that's swell.
Nek just nodded as Kex explained, having not heard the first mates little comment as he huhed a bit but then waved one of his hands a bit. "No need for sir here Kex, my name will do. But that's interesting...though I would hope we don't meet any of them that you worked before. For better or for worse as the tales I've heard about them make it sound like they don't like bearers of bad news. But I'd hope you would be willing to get off the ship when we land, hopefully make a good first impression." Humming a little Nek hopped off the chair, as it would be a bit before they arrived. "I sure hope they speak Sangheili...take a break till we arrive - how long is that Yes?"
"Just under an Unit(hour)."
"Ok thanks, be back around then...I need to scrounge around for a gift to give to them from the cargo we got." Nek mumbled a few item ideas out as he left the bridge and started to head down some levels to make it to the cargo.
----
Tel Yah - First mate;
Rolling her eyes at the newbie know-it-all Tel just grunted at Nek and got up to leave the bridge as well. She could likely get a good meal in that time as she walked past Kex, shoving him with her shoulder a bit before leaving the bridge. A few more Kigs leaving the bridge as they would make good use of this break before the trade mission started.
Eugenius, Jiralhanae Elder. In his Pack's lands. A new career path!
"Just give them a good wack across the head or backside, worked back when I was a patriarch. Make them know to respect the rules." Eugine muttered when told about the foolish youngin's. As a historian he was well versed in the legendary First Immolation, thankfully mostly a distant memory now and hopefully not going to happen again. Or at least not on Doisac. Having it happen on one of the settlements would be expected if the reports of racial tensions were to be believed.
As they waited for the large kegs to be tapped Eugine pulled out a little book from his bandolier bag and skimmed over it before slipping it back and replacing it with the ale when offered. Likely irking his nephew more about all that sweet delicious knowledge and writing that the Elder was privy too. But he did look over with a big grin when his request to join his Nephew was accepted. Giving a hearty chuckle as he thunked his mug against Garatus's one he downed the remainder of it before handing it off to a youngin, who just nodded and headed for the ale house. The young warrior likely doing it quick to avoid a staff smack as Eugine set his vacated good hand on his nephews shoulder.
"Cheers for that Nephew! I would be happy to join your back as a Shaman. We can work out the details after these Kig-Yar are dealt with." Nodding as the Chieftain was informed, Euigne chuckling again at the message to be sent, Eugine stretched a bit as he looked across the Packs grounds and grumbled a bit. "I guess I better get on with that blessing before the Mothers get impatient...they can give quick a smack when annoyed."
(Time-skip for when Nek and co are landing and Eugine is done with the blessings and Garatus with what needs doing so they can all meet up? :> .)

(OOC: going to execute the time skip in my post, hope it's cool and what you meant.)
Jiralhanae Patriarch Garatus.
Garatus sighed with relief that the blessing was over, taking a good swig from his canteen. Jiralhanae children were one thing, but Jiralhanae cubs... they were another matter. They wail, they bite, they kick and they wriggle around like eels fresh caught. Garatus had four children of his own, the reminder of horrible infancy stage made him count his blessings that his own were all old enough to walk. Since the cubs in question were born to Garatus's House, he of course was present for the whole affair. He at least knew the newest member of his House had a fierce bite.
Now they were off to meet the Kig-yar who were to be landing soon, hopefully they'd be worthwhile. Garatus didn't want to waste his day on loiterers or criminal scum, even if he'd been given leave by the Chieftain to deal with them, as the Chieftain had more important things to do. Garatus was vaguely annoyed to be delegated to such a task, as he had a family to take care of which his Nephew did not. But as usual Garatus got stuck with shittier duties.
"Well that was fun, wouldn't you say?" Garatus said sarcastically as he offered up his canteen to his Uncle.
Ibie'shan Kig-yar Security Officer Kex.
Kex had chosen to take his break in his quarters mostly, preparing himself for the possible scenarios ahead. He checked and double checked all his weaponry to make sure they were all in working order, and made sure to sharpen all his blades and hide extra knives on his person. The Jiralhanae knew most places to check on a person for concealed blades, as they were just as prone to it as the Kig-yar themselves, but they weren't quite as sneaky about it so there were a few places still secret from them. Kex engaged in practice for any upcoming combat, mostly rolls and leaps for dealing with avoidance of the Jiralhanae weapons and limbs.
He hoped desperately that nothing bad would happen, because with their current fuel levels and landing fully, they'd likely not stand much of a chance. However, if anything went amiss, he was prepared to deal with it. He made his way to the hangar and gave his fellow Security Officers a rundown of what to expect, even if he wasn't the Chief Security Officer he felt he should share his knowledge. When he saw his Captain he stood at attention and saluted.
"Greetings Si... Nek Dal" Kex said, remembering what the Captain had said earlier about using his name, "How did the gift finding go?" he inquired curiously.
(Hope my post works, if it is screwy just let me know and I'll fix it :3)

(Is good, those dastardly criminal scum and their not stopping-ness.)
Eugenius, Jiralhanae Elder. In his Pack's lands. Watching meals on wheels arrive.
Rubbing his eyes a bit as himself and Garatus waiting at the designated landing zone, his good hand doing the rubbing and his staff in his bad hand, Eugine scoffed a bit at his Nephews words as they waited. While he knew he was an important figure to the tribe and especially to the mothers who had been waiting for the blessing today sometimes he had doubts about the younger generations. Back in the day he remembered when cubs were trained to sit still and silent during the prayers to Rukt and the few pass over's with the blessed greenery. But not they had to be chased back to the table more than once, never sat still, and constantly cried and complained. Right now Euigne was tense...he needed to hit something or get some more drinks
"Just oodles of fun - listening to crying and screaming while trying to wrangle wriggling babes is my favorite thing you know..." Finally lowering his hands Eugine hummed at his nephews canteen but respectfully declined it as he pulled out his own flask and took a few gulps.
The Kig-Yar ship soon broke through the clouds and quickly touched down, Eugine raising an eye-brow at the back of it as it looked...modified. So many exhaust ports for a ship of that size didn't seem right to him. Then again these were Kig-Yar, so it was probably stolen to begin with if not just completely illegal. "I hope you have some warriors in the wings Nephew, in case they try to do something stupid...though I wouldn't mind if they did - Kig-Yar is always good eating." Eugine muttered as one of the ramps opened up and three Kig-Yar headed down toward them; one of the feather ones in what seemed to be...human clothing - the other one of the fat skulled ones, and finally the last one the commonish ones. Eugine narrowing his eyes at the feather one in Human clothing as the rest of them stayed back at the top of the ramp.
(Yey making up Shaman-ism stuff.)
Nek Dal, T'vaoan Captain (brand new) Arriving on Doisac. Calm...just stay calm.
Arriving back on the mostly vacated bridge once the Unit was done Nek was pleased to see that their request to land had been accepted and he started to pilot his vessel down through the atmosphere toward the green-ish planet. He did look around a lot when he was descending and was...shocked honestly that there were nearly no ships in orbit around the Jiralhanae home world. He had heard that the Sangheili kept tight reins on the ships the big furballs could have but there was nearly no protection here...no checks or anything really to stop him landing weather they wanted him to or not. They may have had a lot of defenses on the surface but nearly nothing in space. No Covenant ships on patrol either...Nek frowning at this as he looked back ahead as he broke through the atmosphere and headed down toward the forested surface - the lack of security worrying him a bit as the indicated landing zone came into view.
With careful maneuvering his vessel finally landed in the dock type of thing and Nek quickly left the ship in Noq's command as he grabbed his jacket and gift and headed for the hanger. Nodding and smiling at Kex as he arrived he held up the gift as he replied; a box, but good things come in boxes. "Went well Kex, I think this is something they would like." He said, opening the lid so Kex could see that the box had two sections in it, on the left were a few gemstones - the normal vice for Kig-Yar since they were so sparkly and shiny - while on the right were two medium sized Jiralhanae bobble-heads they had picked up from their last Human trade. Nek had thought they were hilarious and hoped that the Jiralhanae here had a good sense of humor as he closed up the box and nodded at Kex and the Security Chief.
"Lets head out then, they let us land so hopefully they will let us stay and get some repairs and fuel."
The three Kig-Yar headed down the ramp after it closed, the security lead and Kex behind Nek a little as they liked zipped their heads around in the normal fashion as Nek just tried to keep looking ahead. They seemed to be a little distance from the Tribes lands and he could only see a few Jiralhanae about, two seemingly waiting for them. One looked to be a warrior and the other some kind of elder...Did this entire planet have an issue with security? Pushing that from his head Nek approached those two at a normal speed as he tried to look as friendly as he could as he stopped just out of arms reach of the warrior and the elder and bowed his beak a bit before looking back up at them - Nek praying they could speak Sangheili as he held out his gift box and started.
"Greetings Friends, I'm Nek Dal - Captain of the Speed Streak - this is a gift for you to hopefully start a good friendship between us so we can trade for some essentials." He coughed a bit when done, being not a huge fan of the 'Jelly' language and because of his throat problems - before looking back up at the tall furry aliens.

Jiralhanae Patriarch Garatus.
Garatus grinned ear to ear... well, he would have been if he had ears. There was just something fun about poking the buttons of family members, even if it was rare and not too intense. Just fun. Garatus shrugged when his Uncle declined the canteen offered to him, taking a swig of it himself. Garatus ran his claws through his Mohawk and sighed, at the very least they could brag about surviving the ordeal.
It was not long at all before the Kig-yar ship parted the clouds before hastily landing, Garatus noticed his Uncles eyebrow raise and directed his sight to match the elders view. Garatus's face scrunched as he looked at... the back of the apparently modified vessel. Kig-yar couldn't understand the saying 'don't fix it if it isn't broken', always trying to improve perfectly fine equipment and... vessels.
Garatus grunted in response to his Uncle, there were half a dozen warriors hidden in the tall grass and a nearby tree. "We're covered" Garatus said as he crossed his arms and straightened as the ramps began to open. Garatus snorted when he saw them, the T'vaoan one was wearing what looked to be Human clothing. There were two more of the reptiles, one of them blunt headed Kig-yar and a Ruuht Kig-yar.
Garatus was at first suspicious when he noticed the T'vaoan had a box, but curiously scooped it out of the creatures hands when he stated it was a gift. Garatus held the box in the air beside his head and shook it lightly, listening intently with his head turned sideways. He abruptly ceased shaking the box causing a sudden and awkward silence that drew on for a long moment, his eye having instantly shot to the side when this 'Nek Dal' mentioned a desire to trade for essentials.
Garatus lowered the box so it rested over his fur covered bellybutton, one hand on either side of it. He looked down at the T'vaoan with an appraising(albeit unhappy) look. What did this feather ball think they were? Wealthy as the High Chieftains Skein? Hardly! With a small huff Garatus returned his gaze to the box in his grip, using one thumb claw to break the seal and open the lid effortlessly. His left eyebrow raised as he looked in. There were some nice gems in it, perfectly normal and fine for trade with the Kig-yar, they loved the damn things for their shininess.
But in their own little compartment there were... two small totems depicting Jiralhanae. They were unusually detailed for totems, and the heads were oversized. Garatus gently scooped one up by its torso, a small gasp escaping his mouth at what happened. The head... it... it bobbled! Never in all his years had he seen something like this, and it was... hilarious. Garatus began to let out small, spaced chuckles, before openly laughing and using his claw to make its head bobble. Garatus handed off the other bobble doodad to his Uncle, Garatus continuing to bobble his new prize.
"Welcome Nek Dal, we shall see about trading with you, despite..." Garatus said trailing off before idly waving his hand at his odd ship and choice of attire. Garatus gave a sharp bark and the nearby Jiralhanae Warriors faded out of the tall grass and swung down from the thick tree canopy. Several of them curiously examined the bobble head as Garatus passed it to the nearest individual for the group to examine.
"You two, stay with the vessel" Garatus barked at a pair of younger Warriors, "I hope it does not offend you, but we will need guards present at your vessel to ensure you do not do anything unwanted. No worries though, we do it to everyone, even the Sangheili" he said with a chuckle at the Sangheili's expense.
Kig-yar Security Officer Kex.
Kex peered curiously into the box, his eyes first racing towards the shiny, precious gems. How he wished to hold them, but his professionalism prevented him from doing so. Then his eyes darted to two bobble heads, humorous depictions of the Jiralhanae. Kex chuckled at the sight, he just hoped these Jiralhanae were as inclined to fun. Kex nodded to Nek, "here's hoping" he said as he popped his neck and shook his arms out to relieve the small amount of stress he was feeling.
Kex made on last check of his equipment, taking a deep breath he followed Nek down the ramp. Kex took in the various smells and sights of the area, mostly smelled like Jiralhanae, ale, and roasted meat. But there was the sweet scent of plants as well, flowers mostly it seemed. Kex noted their distance from the Tribes main population center, hopefully they were just being cautious about outsiders. Worst case scenario was that they planned to massacre them and didn't want any cross fire damaging buildings or people.
Kex decided to just smile and hope for the best, if he was wrong to assume the best... well he wouldn't have to live long with feeling like a fool. There were just two of them, standing proudly like mighty pillars in the field as if they were the last remnants of an old castle. Kex felt suspicious and continued to look around, and before long he caught a glimpse of a large thing hiding in a nearby tree... a possible threat perhaps. Kex watched Nek now, standing behind his leader a bit.
He watched the two beasts cautiously... if the thing in the tree turned out to be a trick, he'd send one of the bastards to their 'Rukt', before was sent to Aecor himself. He looked at Nek when he started coughing a bit, he'd not noticed it before really, sounded like a smoker as the Humans would say(and many also sounded like.)

Eugenius, Jiralhanae Elder. In his Pack's lands. Being dat racist old man he is. (P:)
Eugine just nodded in approval as he glances back to see the warriors waiting with spike throwers primed is the Kig-Yar wished to be pin cushions. Turning his un-approving gaze to the Kig-Yar as they approached. Eugine decided that before the feathery one even opened his beak that he didn't like him. He didn't like how he tried to carry himself upright like he was worth something, or how he dressed like he was more than just scum, or - especially how he looked up at the eyes of both him and his Nephew.
But then the little fluff had to open his beak and not only seem like he was going to hack up a lung but seemingly here to trade for 'essentials'. Thumping the butt of his staff against the ground as Garatus started to open the box. "Listen here bird," Eugine grumbled in deep Sangheili, thankfully mandatory for all species (if possible) to learn if they were going to serve in the Covenant military. "I doubt you had the intelligence to look at the land before you landed, but does this look like a military base to you? You best hope your 'essentials' aren't things like a new ship or weapons or whatever you thieves want." The white furred ape growled at Nek and his little friends before he was offered a little totem out of the box that the bird had given them.
Raising his eyebrow at the...not wood depiction of a Jiralhanae Eugine shook it a bit and balked (love that word) at how much it wobbled and shook. Rather than laugh it as his Nephew did he snorted in disapproval and, thankfully not throwing it, set it back in the box. "Shoddy craftsmanship, too easy to break." He muttered to himself and Garatus as he returned to watching with his arms crossed. He was hesitant to send just two warriors to watch the Kig-Yar's vessel...for all he knew these criminals were just waiting to send out the assault force to take over all the tribes lands. Eugine whispering his fears into Garatus's ear as the three birds in front of them twitched and cheeped back and fourth with each other a bit.
Nek Dal, T'vaoan Captain (brand new) On Doisac. Maybe this was a bad idea...
Carefully watching the younger apes face as he opened the box Nek hoped that he had a good sense of humor. Those bobble-heads could easily be seen as an insult or an affront to their culture or something else that could be terrible and would lead to himself and Kex and the security chief just the first dead in the Kig-Yar slaughter. So he was relieved when the Jiralhanae started to chuckle and then laugh uproariously. Breathing a happy breath he smiled and looked back up to catch the very unpleased look of the Elder and then his little spiel.
Needless to say it set Nek's panic sensors off that they weren't really welcome here. And to make matters worse it seemed that the younger wasn't that much of a fan of...himself and his ship? Nek now realized that he should have been more specific about what they needed. But hopefully that could be salvaged and they could try to show that they weren't just thieves and murderers. But as he looked back at Kex and the security chief he realized that while he may not been that affected by being called a thief and stupid, as he was used to during his slave labor on the pirate ship and having been called that most of his life, his two comrades seemed to be taking it a bit harder. So now he had both sides of the negotiation to try and calm down...fantastic.
Turning sideways, as he expected it wouldn't be good to turn his back on the apes, Nek held out his hands to Kex and the Chief as he quickly tried to explain the situation to them in the cheepy Kiggy language. "Hey hey, its just names they are throwing out to try and get us to do something stupid so they can kill us and have a fight. We need to show them we are better than what they think we are like. If we change their minds we could get a lot of business from them as, as you saw when we were flying down, there is almost no Sangheili presence here." He stopped to have another little cough, as a lot of talking often did for him, before finishing the Kiggy side of the talk. "I know that you often cant take an insult like that without lashing back...but please just this time don't. We have no choice here and have to bend to their house rules if we want to ever leave..." Patting both of them on the shoulder he turned back to the apes and took a second to compose himself before talking to them two.
"Apologies for not clarifying," he said in Sangheili. "We aren't looking for a new ship or weapons or anything like that. But instead mainly fuel and maybe some materials for light repairs. We were left out in the middle of nowhere by the former ShipMistress...I'm still not sure why, but this was the only place we could really reach unless we wanted to be stranded in space. We have Agricultural materials," as if the Jellies ever did their own farming... "And a few machine parts as well as...uhh..drink making material available for trade for fuel, the space you graciously allowed us to land at, and if possible some repair materials. If you need to search the cargo hold or do anything like that to make this more peaceful we'll submit to it." He said with a bit of emphasis so the Kigs behind him would get it. "As we are just here to peacefully trade...errr," some more coughing. "Sorry, peacefully trade...Sorry I don't know the Jiralhanae way to address the home party." He said with a frown, such a poor little birdy.

Jiralhanae Patriarch Garatus, Restorer of Tribes, Slayer of Shadowed Imps. Old racist relatives... always awkward >_>
Garatus looked over at his Uncle and grunted, wacking him in the shoulder lightly with the back of his hand in disapproval of his offensive words. He listened to the Elder whisper his concerns, and nodded before whispering back while the Kig-yar had their little huddle. "I plan to take a brief tour of their ship to make sure it is safe, and I don't want to leave too many of our warriors with their ship in case they do try something, since we'd be that much weaker if we lost six compared to two" he said in their native tongue to hopefully reassure the Elder.
Garatus listened as the T'vaoan clarified his needs, well, at least it was reasonable supplies they needed. "I would say... call us Tribesmen, and those will suffice I think, depending on items conditions. If they are of inferior quality, I am certain we can work out an alternative form of payment, helping with the chores of the Tribe and so forth. I would like a... tour of your ship if possible before we go much farther" Garatus stated in a friendly-ish manner.
Kig-yar Security Officer Kex.
Kex paled slightly at the Elders words... was not a particularly good sign, but at least the Patriarch seemed almost neutral. Kex looked at Nek as he spoke to him and the Security Chief, nodding. "I know Sir, I'd hate to see us made into living spike holders over mean words, I'll try my best to tough it out" Kex said with a small smile.
He listened and watched as Nek clarified to the Jiralhanae, mostly for the Elders benefit it seemed. He cringed slightly at the coughing from Nek, wondering if the Simians would question them about it. He was relieved when the Patriarch seemed to be reasonable, he had heard of the Jiralhanae of this area, bloody conquerors with a lineage of slaughter spanning the existence of the Species practically.

Nek Dal, T'vaoan Captain (brand new) Uhh...sure, great, whateva you want mang"Thank you both," Nek said as the security chief nodded at the request and said he would let it slide. "I appreciate you both being able to work with their rules." Turning back to face the Jiralhanae he nodded and listened to what they had to say. Nek was both pleased and a bit scared of the younger Jiralhanaes response to his clarified needs. With all the tales he had heard about the Jiralhanae 'chores' sounded a whole lot like slave labor, for a long time, or being used to help with dinner - where they were the main course. But the younger one seemed pretty reasonable and even lightly chastised the elder for calling them thieves. At least that's what he hoped it was about as he bobbed his beak and started to turn to the side as he swept his arm out to point at his ship. "That is no issue Tribesmen, you are both welcome to come aboard, you could even check out the supply while you are here to see if it is satisfactory payment. If you like tea we could even brew some up for everyone so we can get a deal sorted out for this transaction." Nek was clearly doing his best to look calm and collected, and to the apes he probably was but to his two security members, who were well versed in the subtler Kig-Yar tells, could tell that Nek was still very nervous about this. But they had a way for this to work and Nek was intent on going with it. He moved off and nodded a bit at the two large Jiralhanae guards as he headed up the ramp into the lowest deck of his ship, where the large room looked pretty barren but there were thankfully still some crates about. The ship lights and the lights from outside making it good and bright inside as the Kig crewmen inside just nodded and moved aside as Nek, the Security Chief and Kex, and the apes arrived as Nek turned around and walked backwards as he started to explain. "I know it looks pretty barren in here...and it is a bit as we weren't left with much but there are still some good commodities around here. This is the first cargo floor, the two floors above this one are also for cargo as its what the ship is designed for. On the walls, as you can see on each side and some on the back wall as well, are some B&B boxes, essentially boxes of light weapons and gear in the case of emergencies. But those arn't important right now." He quickly added as he looked down at his tac-pad and nodded as he walked until he was about the middle of the ship before turning to his left and patting a crate as he started to open the top of it. "This is one of the machine parts crates if you wish to take a look, we have a few more of these and then the farming materials and tea items." He nodded as he took a step back after, with Kex's help, he lifted off the lid and set it aside. The inside an organized box of different shaped gears and crank shafts (No idea what the bars that connect gears are called D: ). The metal used to make them all shiny and such and they seemed to be in pretty darn good quality. Eugenius, Jiralhanae Elder. Its probably dirty like them...Raising an eyebrow as he was smacked in the shoulder Eugine slowly turned to look at Garatus, and looked as if he was half a second away from taking his staff and reminding his Nephew that hits to reprimand were HIS job. Eugine even gripping his staff tighter and starting to raise it before he controlled himself and returned it to a more neutral position and just nodded and he listened. But when the Kigs started to move back to their ship to show them around Eugine spoke up as he finally shifted from his arms crossed position and used his staff for walking - because that's what it was made to do. "As you wish Garatus, it will be on your head if the turn out to be untruthful, but the feathery one looks like too much of a coward to try and betray us." He barked quietly in the Jiralhanae language as they were soon at the ramp of the Kig-Yar ship. The two Jiralhanae guards looking around the inside and nodding before Garatus and Eugine entered. Soon they were both entering the Kigs ship...and Eugine had to admit it looked to be in good condition on the inside - if a bit empty. He wished they could get some more guards in case the lot of the Kigs turned out to be untruthful but he just tried to deal with his annoyance as best he could and moved on. He just nodded a bit as the feathery one talked and talked. But he did glance in the box when it was opened and was at least slightly impressed with the quality of the mechanical components...perhaps these Kigs were actually being truthful. (Blar sorry was tired and couldn't think of much for Euigne D: . Best of friends right BetaWülf? :3)
