My band, Painting Fences is getting an official kickstart! We are gigging and playing and posting videos. We're working on recording songs as well for high-quality mp3's to be posted on the Youtubes, Reverb, and Facebooks. Possibly a SoundCloud or whatever else. www.facebook.com/Paintingfencestheband is our official facebook page, we have two videos on there. HUAH! Feel free to view and like the page and the videos. What is the Painting Fences Line-Up? Seth Norman(me): Bassist and Vocalist Johnny Norman: Guitarist Seth Gibson: Drums and Cow-Bell We are a rock'n'roll band. It doesn't get more straight up rock and roll than Painting Fences. From our hard hitting blues jams to our soft ballads, to our full out rocking fast paced songs, we dedicate ourselves to delivering original, interesting music that investigates the human mind, the willing heart, and the paths in life that we forge for ourselves! Stay tuned for updates! Here's a video of our song, ARIZONA ROCK, www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=275614405929274&set=vb.217221298435252&type=2&theater

We went to Boulder Creek High School in Athem and then Willow Canyon in Surprise. Next we are going to Marcos De Niza in Tempe. We'll be doing Tucson as well. We were originally going to do a Colorado circuit too but that got canceled. Working on a First Friday festival gig for next month ( or the month after. ) And last week we played The Red Owl in Tempe and Maricopa County Fair.

Ever think of hitting the down town in Flagstaff while NAU is still in session, I've heard a lot of the venues downtown welcome gigs like yours and they get some pretty good crowds as well.

We will certainly do that! Right now we are more focused on doing exposure gigs like fairs, schools, and malls. First Friday's and festival type gigs would be a strong direction as well. We will probably continue to do bars and clubs, but we do not want pay to play, because we are still reaching out to our fanbases; right now nobody is going to go to a venue to see *us,* we just aren't at that level. So if its that type of gig, its kind of a waste of time. Places where people are "forced" to see us, or in other words if its "convenient" for them, like at a fair, where all they have to do is stop and listen for a few minutes if they like it.
HOWEVER we don't have anything lined up for next month yet, so if you have any venues in mind that you know of or recommend, let me know what its name is and I will contact them right away!

A few truly motivational posts on our facebook page!~
From Fans: "Hey I wanted to say thanks to you guys for coming to our school and signing my cards. You are actually inspiring me because I am also planning on learning bass, playing it with a pick, and singing! So I just want to say thanks to you guys and you rocked it out there."
"You guys did fantastically today! I'm sure the opinion of one random kid doesn't matter, but it was a really good show. (I liked you all better than the other band!) It's encouraging to see people doing what they're passionate about, since I'm going to try and make a career out of my passion. So thanks for signing the cd, and keep rocking!!"
"you guys did amazing at willow canyon, real inspiration, its good to see that there is still music in surprise"
It brings me great joy to see that we're actually reaching a willing audience!

Of course a charitable like or share always helps too. ;p

So are you Black Veil Brides type of rock band (Correct me, I think the term I'm looking for is metal. I could be wrong) or is it like a classical rock band?

We are "progressive Hard Rock" or just "Hard Rock"
Our guitars take a lot of inspiration from Boston, Journey, and ZZtop in some songs, and then a lot of inspiration from Metallica, Sonata Arctica, and Megadeth in another song. Our drummer is an extremely talented but unrefined youth who actually experiments with tons of different timings, signatures, and strange beats that quite often remind me of some of the drumming greats ( Bonom, Peart. )
My Bass and Vocals while ultimately follow along with the guitars, tend to lean in the Rush or UFO direction, I've been told.
Click my signature picture for a sample, we've got three songs ( they are each pretty different. ) on reverbnation, which as long as you have a facebook, is free streaming.

Hello everyone, here's a fun one! I made this song called the Pop Tab Blues Challenge! It's a really simple, classic blues riff, with leads in between. What I want YOU to do is make your own video of the Pop Tab Blues and post it on Youtube as a response to mine! The Chords are simple, A, D, A, D, A, E, D. You'll pick up the rhythm and hopefully adapt it on your own! Oh yeah, and you can't use a Guitar Pick, you have to use the tab to a soda can!
This is for guitarists of ALL SKILL LEVELS. I don't care if you are a beginner, if you try this, it will improve your skills! If you are an advanced guitarist, exercises like this are always helpful.

Well it has been a long time has it not?
A lot can happen for a band in such a time. Luckily, mostly good things happened for us.
We are releasing our debut album March 18th. For the next day we will be accepting preorders to be shipped directly to your door, or digital download packages. Sorry I did not get to this sooner, I have been dead on all of my writing and forums and honestly forgot about this thread. But, here we are. If you want to put in a donation or order, click here
For most of you reading, it will already be too late. D: However, we can always accept pre-orders by way of Pay-Pal if you are particularly interested in an album.
We have a music video of one of our singles for the upcoming album. Enjoy!
We are VERY proud of the new album and quality of the recordings. It fills my heart with joy to say that I am responsible for it. Here is our second single "Windowshopper" ( no not the 50 Cent song )
