Arby sat, clutching his MP7 tight to his side. He sat on the highest hill, overlooking the remains of Yappas. Billowing smoke rose high into the air, from burning houses and trees. He heard the occasional yelp or scream for assistance. There was nothing he could do now. Nothing...
I'm sorry, let me start from the beginning.
It started a little over a year ago. Arby had left his good friend Avarice, the person who had introduced him to a similar world. However, Arby looked for something different. Something that he really wanted. So he packed his things, and walked. Arby walked, and walked, and walked. His weapon tight at his side incase he was attacked, he also escorted a boy. A boy somewhat younger than him, but blood related. This person held great promise, and Arby and him were very close. But, this boy was no leader. He was Arby's friend, but no leader. Arby was the leader of the two, and that is how it was.
This boy's name was Goody.
Months went by, and Arby had almost given up. However, he found something. He found a land that flourished with happiness and greatness. He loved it. A land where he could just be who he was, and people were just like him. This land was known as Yappas, one of the greatest Halo RPG's on the planet. Arby joined willingly, and was welcomed in open arms by many people. The first to accept him was a young fellow by the name of Kenny. Arby and Kenny became friends, and Kenny even gave old Arby his own member house. Arby did not trust everyone yet though, and did not show them Goody. He hid him in the house, afraid of losing him.
Time went on, and friendships became evident. He had a rough start with a person named Kart, who would leave only a month after Arby joined. The young kid formed a strong relationship with a Zealous citizen of the land named Huka. Huka was an old veteran, and highly respected. Arby looked up to him for quite some time.
Then the coup formed.
His name was Saber.
Saber was tough.
Saber was cold.
Saber was a Veteran.
Saber was everything Arby always wanted to be.
However, Saber made the mistake of trying to overthrow the current King. His name was Killinger. He preferred to be called Kill, or Phal. Kill took Saber by the hair, and threw him into the execution room of Yappas. Saber was not scared, though. He fought for something he believed in. However, it cost him his life, as another Royal member decapitated him. Arby would come to know this executioner and Dufflepud. However, Duffle is not the main focus right now. Saber's attempted coup is. Everyone said that Saber was a bad person, that he had done something that he shouldn't have done. Arby never learned the whole story, though. He just knows that Saber tried to make change, and this attempt cost him his existence in this land. Arby never spoke bad about Saber, but he never spoke good about him, afraid of what the results would be. Possibly his own death in Yappas?
Saber was not alone, though. He had an associate, but not one that was anything like Saber. This member was also a veteran. He went by the name of AlphaWolf. Alpha was not like Saber. Alpha was... more of a coward. This will become very evident to Arby in later months. For now, Arby thought little of Alpha. He knew that AlphaWolf was banished, but he didn't know where or when it happened. He just knew that it did.
Months went by, and Arby earned a title in this land. He was known, he was respected. He wasn't feared like he wanted to be, but he had by now become respected. Even some of the Royals saw his potential, and they gave him chances. Chances to make great things, things that would bring him to the top of the food chain. He'd be in the better half of RPers. Above the residents such as Doitean, Doherty, Joker. On par with his old friend Kenny. Respected by higher ups such as the adept 999, and Huka. Duffle, as well.
As time went on, Arby grew comfortable with the setting. He let his old pal into the scene. Goody hopped up into the land of Yappas, and no one really thought anything of it. He was just... there. Having fun, being himself.
Months went by, and all was well, but something drastic then happened. Kill was once again questioned about his status as king, and a vote was placed, where he was put out of power. A new King and a new set of Nobles were chosen. King Tin, with Nobles Duffle, Kenny, Dave, and Beta12.
Time went well under these people... but it was different. Arby couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he didn't like the change. He preferred Kill as the leader, and that's how he felt. However, Arby never spoke of it. He was just one person, and he didn't want to end up like Saber. He missed Saber. He was an inspiration to Arby.
Speaking of which, Alpha returned. He apoligized and was brought back in, but under a tight leash. Arby didn't like that. AlphaWolf surrendered after banishment, a sign of cowardice. At least Saber was brave enough to stand at his beliefs until death. Saber was a martyr in Arby's eyes.
And then it happened.
Alpha secretly started a rebellion against Tin and his Nobles. Arby was excited, and hopped right on. They stormed the city, killing hundreds in their wake. Arby personally killed off several members with his firearm, and basked in the glory of a new age.
Arby took it too far.
He stormed the castle of Tin, charged straight in. AlphaWolf never expected him to do it, but he did. He killed plenty of people. He held his weapon at point blank range with Kenny, who stepped down from a Noble position. He took his soldiers and stormed Beta's quarters, trapping the Noble. Arby snarled in Beta's face, and forced their banishment. Beta's last words were to Goody.
"Keep up the good fight, Goody."
And Beta left. Tin soon followed. Yappas fell into chaos. Duffle currently tries to rebuild it.
Arby now saw what he did wrong. This was not fair, this was not how it should of been. He made a huge mistake, but it was to late to bring it back to how it was. There was no healing the land. It was dead. But Yappas was Arby's home for a year now, and he wouldn't let it rot and decompose like this.
And so, Arby cocked his MP7 and started down the hill into Yappas, to go and try to fix what he had started. Stubbins and Faclan were by his side. New members with promise. Ultimate as well.
But Goody is what mattered. Goody was by his side, and this small band of people under Duffle would bring it back.
Arby would redeem himself. He knew this.
He had to.
