I had time to knock out one of the gifts so I decided to try and tackle Duffle's Field Marshall, Rha 'Katolai.



And here's a little facial practice drawing featuring one of my favorite pro gamers, Carlos Santiago, also known as SK Ocelote.

Spec Ops Jindai 'Nikuysai

CLAN OVERVIEW: In the far southwest of the Dukam region, with the Qualim clan, the Nikuys reign supreme. Not for their warriors or honorable merits, but for their sheer cruelty and adaptiveness to the San'Shyuum's politics. Most of the high-blooded clansmen are corrupted and powerful political figures and financiers on the world of Sanghelios, much to several clans' disdain. But they still follow the ageless tradition of having warriors in the Covenant, in their case, mostly Special Operators.

SHORT BACKSTORY: Jindai was (almost not) born into the fanatical world of the Nikuys clan early complications left him blind at birth and unusually frail even for a newborn. Struggling for survival almost instantly, he was deemed unfit and was set to be cleansed, however prior to being killed, the proceedings fell through due to mostly unknown reason at this time, Nikuys clansmen saw this as a possible sign and gave the young Jindai a true shot at survival. By some miracle he was able to overcome complication and disease that would have rendered his peers into unstable states if not killing them outright. He would not bare witness to atrocities committed by his clan, he would bare witness to nothing, born into permanent darkness he was able to develop his other senses to hyper advanced levels that helped him guide a sword better than those around him who could all see to swing. The rippling of water, the scent of prey, the taste of fear in the air, became his sight. He was quickly immersed into San'Shyuum rhetoric from a young age and became enveloped in the word of the gods. Whereas some practiced by these words, he always felt himself to be a living embodiment of their will, alive when he should by all accounts not have been. Upon his entrance to the military, another achievement that virtually no one figured he could reach, he was quickly shuffled into the ranks of the special operators where he currently resides as one of its most notorious rank. That notoriety not just coming from his efficient assassinations or notable ability in battle, but from his open disdain for the current military structure and his willingness to question high ranking officers and officials, it doesn't matter who you were, if you were not a San'Shyuum yourself, he was smarter than you, stronger than you, and you were not ever truly safe from his urges, he viewed his world of special operations as one mostly apart from the control of the bloated field masters and field marshals that tred on the will of the gods and inefficiently run the military into the ground with their misplaced virtue of honor. His deadly accomplishments and talent earned him a nickname within the Specialist faction, "The Grey Specter". You can give him an order, but his actions and thoughts are often erratic, possibly stemming to a form of insanity due to brain defects from birth that was only amplified by the highly corrupted and religious upbringing he went through, though he doesn't exhibit obvious traits that would elude to such aside from his thought process.

Appearance: Customized Spec Ops Black-Grey-White armor with symbolic slashes over the eyes // Wears a dark cloth over his head while his helmet is donned. See Above. Slightly taller than a standard sangheili, and a tad bit lankier, but not by much.

Who knows I may eventually bring this character into Yappas, but for now he's just a nice fledgling idea. c:

(EDIT: I think I have to unofficially make Korn's Narcissistic Cannibal (Ft. Skrillex and Kill The Noise) his theme song. I listened to the song at least a hundred times in succession while I drew the sketch and then just left it running afterwards... The name fits and the beat is cool so why not. I think I am one of the only people ever who can just listen to something on repeat for so long and just not care. xD

Wow! Just... Wow! Saff that is absolutely incredible! I'm seriously in awe here, I can only dream of being able to color that well. Fantastic job. I bet that took a long time to finish.

Thanks a bunch, I started from the same point as everyone else and am probably living proof that you don't need any special artistic super powers to be able to draw like this or better, there's still a long way I could go if I really tried for it or took the time. Just start by referencing a lot of material and just doodle a lot, eventually your brain just catches onto what looks right and you sorta "get it" as you go. All my drawings are also done with just a normal mechanical pencil base, I don't use any fancy art tools just a basic writing tool and paper, that and my hand isn't steady at all really, so I cant make smooth single lines, I sort of etch a frame as I go. If I ever feel like I want to blend some shades a lil more I just do some slight rubbing on the picture with a finger or two, since the oils on our skin make for a good graphite blending tool.

But yeah, art like this is far from impossible, work at it and over time you could easily get better than I am at this point. c=

I have a list of requests that I draw from when I'm in the mood, so yeah I can slot some more in, if I get inspired at all by the character it may come sooner rather than later, the key is me getting a clear image of the charrie in my head. xD

PROBABLY the last new OC for a little while. This guy here started as a bit of a joke character in the last game I joined up for (not really but there was a lot of joking around OOC) but I was able to convert a vigilante hero Kick-Assy concept into something with a pretty dark backstory, I won't really delve into it at this time but possibru in the future I can toss it up in this post or on my dA.

Also since I forgot to say it earlier, the names of these last 3 characters from top to bottom are:

- Kael Ryan (about 2 years since character creation)
- Alex Hart (Still not a week old)
- Ricky "Rickshaw" Salvatore (Less than 48 hours)

I need to chill with the character creation for a second. xD
