Could someone give me a briefing on what's happened from page 3-4? I missed a lot, because I really haven't been paying attention in the mission...

No, because we'll post the mission update once page four finishes. If you want to get in on it before we post the second mission update, just read the posts. xP

Is the Covenant ship airborne or is it grounded?

Quick question, and I'm not sure how much this comes up, but as a covenant writer I've found one major hurtle in my writing:
Time and distance.
Communicating time and distance in a realistic way without breaking character is different.
Do I just use human measurements so everybody knows what the hell I'm talking about, is there some kind of precedent, is there even an established covenant measurement of time and distance? These are the primary questions that boggle me all the time. Please get back to me as soon as convenient, thanks.

Given that the Covenant wouldn't be speaking english, and that our writing is effectively a translation, it's acceptable to use human measurements. I tend to prefer using metric units for distance, as they're more universal than US ones, although feel free to write with either.

thank you, I started writing with metric units and I never had a problem narrating it, but when I have to use human measurements in dialogues it gets kinda weird, so I wanted to check if there was an alternative. Thanks Duffler of Puds. Keep up the duffling.

Just here to apologize for my relative lack of input in the mission so far, been busy, hoping to jump back in soon, especially now that the mission update is up. Can't have me at a pathetic one post per round pace! xD

Not sure if this is where to post this or if we even post in the archive anymore, but I had a question;
Are we allowed to modify our earlier posts to have our characters change locations? I was thinking since it doesn't seem like any PC's are at the Marine staging area for my jackal spotter to interact with I was thinking it would be best to move him to the area near the down Pelican so I can get some interaction with the RPers there.

A Jackal spotter near the downed pelican? I don't see why not, and you can make a new post if you'd like or edit one. I can't recall when it stops letting you edit a post or if you can always edit a post. We should thank, Kill, for coming up with the downed Pelican. It's becoming a real hot zone (pun intended) for players.

I can't tell right now, has the KIg-Yar fleet officially arrived yet? And if so can it be seen by infantry from the ground? I'm just trying to see what I can use.

The Kig-Yar Fleet has arrived, however the canopy of the planet is extremely thick. You wouldn't see the top of it unless you climbed a very, very tall tree. Hope that helps.

Just a question.
I was under the impression that the smoke was almost like a dense fog now instead of in random areas. Is that not the case of is it? I RP'd posts as such, which means visibility would be extremely poor.

I'm not sure, also I hope I'm not cramping the Kig-yar/Marine situation, if so let me know and I'll skedaddle.

Actually, having your Brute in the mix makes things more interesting. He's the wild card in the stack and what he does may affect the outcome of current events in unforeseen ways. So, it's actually turning out to be a good plot twist for the little sub-plot we've had going on here.

When I wrote the fire, I wrote the smoke as disabling visibility beyond twenty feet.

Which is exactly how I RP'd it when Killinger arrived, though obviously areas still untouched would have a far greater visibility.
