Uh huh.
Anyway, my last point still kinda stands. What would the equivalents of Councilors and Inquisitors be? I can guess some sort of extremely high-ranking ONI agent for the Inquisitors, and maybe Admiral for the Councilor.

I'll be honest, covenant ranking is simpler than UNSC. Minor, Major, Ultra, general, Zealot. Boom!
Yes, yes, I know. There are several other respective branches with ranks. But in general they are the same.

Calm down 999. First off, I was the one who organized it that way from the start (with the UNSC in charge). However, I do agree that it doesn't make sense to assign UNSC ranks to Covenant characters. I steady they simply fall under their Sub Captain as their rank would suggest, while being under the ship's officers.

That's an exellent comprimise, Duffle. After all, the whole theme behind an inter-species crew is learning to overcome differences and work together. So having several parallel chains of command all under the authority of the Captain and Sub-Captains would emphisize that feeling of equality and promote respect for one another at the same time.
Also... Alpha, if you still really want a way to put Covenant ranks in human terms for comparison sake, then why not use pay grade? That's what it's designed for in the first place. For example, US Marines work closely with the Navy, but when a Marine Sergeant addresses a Navy Petty Officer, he doesn't call him by an equivilant Marine term, you know? He knows that Petty Officer (third class) is E-4 and Sergeant is E-5, so it's that rather then the rank name itself that puts things into perspective.

See, the ranks were not to be used in the RP as titles. The Covenant members would not hold these ranks. it was simply so that I could draw up a chain of command for the ship.

Parallel chains of command would make for a more harmonious, less conflict ridden crew. People are a lot more comfortable taking orders from their own.
Also, although that's a reasonable suggestion, SC, the Sangheili Military doesn't involve pay grades, not to mention that there are plenty of non military crew (such as the Kig-Yar).
