I think they'll do a lot of damage. Probably not quite as much as those Shivas.

Actually someone worked out that it has the pertential to produce anywhere from probably 50+ megatons up to about 50 gigatons for a ship sided MAC Cannon. A Super MAC on an orbital station can apparently produce up to 5 Teratons which is the equivilent of the asteroid which hit the Earth and wiped out the dinosaurs. So basically it'd cause enough dust to go into the atmosphere to cause an ice age but not before covering the whole planet in firey death...

Now 57 megatons is the largest explosion ever produced by anything man made on Earth. It had a blast radius of 4.7 Km and the shockwave it created was detected right up until its 4th pass around the Earth. Now just think of that but possibly doubled or even trippled.

Its safe to say that a Mac blast at a planets surface will be inaccurate but have enough impact to fuck up anything in at least a 5 Km radius at the very least.

Then of corse you have to think that its going to kick up a shit load of dust which will cause a nuclear winter and destroy the planet's ecosystem for a few thousand years.

So yeah, it's probably just as bad as glassing a planet, if not worse in the long run.

But by all means, try it...

Captain Flashheart may be the commander of the fleet but you're free to do as you wish. Granted you'd probably be stripped of your rank if not discharged from the Navy, but it'd sure be funny to watch.

If that what a MAC can do then how does that compare to the SHIVA that is planned to be used once every on is to safety? If its the same the I like nex's plan, plus it seems like a good F-you flood weapon.

Flashheart is too busy sipping tea at the moment due to there being no threat to the main ships in the fleet.

Also, there are no flood on Arcadia and I would expect that a SHIVA is probably about 50 Megatons considering a HAVOK is 30 Megatons. So basically a SHIVA would be like the Tsar Bomba which has a radius of 4.7 Km.

I figured the flood wasn't on Arcadia, I was just saying that it would be a good solution to an infestation.

If that is what a SHIVA is like then I guess it would be better to stick with that.

Hornet Mine's are also 30 Megatons.

A carrier would be an interesting addition. Although we deffinately need more Covenant ships and players. :S

In the Arcadia ground mission how many floors does the the ONI building have? I know it is over 21 from reading a post by caster but how much more?

Ok all people who have posted in the active captains thread may now "Warp" in to the space rp and start mixing shit up.

This will involve 2 battlecruisers and an assault carrier on the covie side and 2 frigates, 1 prowler, 2 marathon class cruiser and a carrier.

I'm going to request that Dr Awkward uses his assault carrier rather than the marathon class he made, considering for 1 thing, you can't have 2 characters from different sides in the same battle and 2, the covies would be out gunned if not.

This way, its anyones guess how the fight could go...
