Probably a bad time for this because my plate is already full to bursting, but yet another one of my nagging RP ideas has been growing to the point where I might consider pursuing it seriously. So, for now, I just wanted to see if there's potential interest and/or feedback from you guys while I continue to mull it over.
This idea originated as I debated writing a story for the Halloween contest, but decided it would be more fun to repurpose the concept as an RP instead. Except it will still be a contest in and of itself in a way. (You'll see what I mean in a bit). Maybe I'll set a release date for it on Halloween, maybe I'll offer a hint about it or some kind of in-game bonus to the story contest winner, I dunno. But what's for sure is that the RP will feature a dark fantasy dungeon crawl kind of theme, and that it will be formatted rather differently then any RP we're familiar with. (Because I literally just made it up).
How it works will be something like this:
It will be a single-player experience (just you with me acting as GM to guide you through the game), where basically your goal is to navigate a trap-filled maze without dying. It will heavily feature player choice and decision making, problem solving and riddles, and probably a fair deal of luck, lol. The "story" you play through will be relatively short, but you will most likely die because making a mistake will often be fatal.
Now here's the really cool part... This RP will be played out between you (the player) and me in Private Messages so that other players can't learn from your game. Every player will do the exact same game. And once everybody is done, I will send you your entire game (I'll put all the PMs together in Word), and you can post that in a "results" thread so that you guys can compare your individual playthroughs, the decisions you made, how far you got, ect.
So, sound interesting? What do you guys think, and who would be up for giving it a try?
