Idina stood rigidly at attention until the Captain had continued out the doors, at which point she relaxed, heaving a sigh of relief. She continued on her way out the door. Maybe she would just lay down on the grass for a bit......she was feeling a bit tipsy.
Maybe those drinks are finally fading and now my body wants revenge, she thought. Nah, not likely.
She found a good empty patch of grass and sat down and flopped back, looking up into the sky. Which of course made gave her a moment of vertigo. Then, feeling slightly safe, she fell asleep in the embrace of the grass.

Waking up still in the bar he realized that he must have dosed off. Trying to shake off the stiffness, getting up from his seat he was trying his best to get to the door he accidentally bumped into a few people "I'm sorry, pardon me." Ran said. Trying to slink around the group, they were impassable. (OOC: opening to have a conversation anyone wants to.)

Sergeant Dmitri Dombrovski |
The Russian had been yelling at a foolish Lance Corporal who had smashed a wasted ODST's head in, he berated the man beyond relief, telling him that if he suffered serious trauma it would be on his head. He was quickly bumped into by a soldier. He turned around and shouted, "WHAT DO YOU WANT!"

"Gotta go find Sarge, make sure he's not facedown on the floor somewhere." said Cassie while walking away.
"See you later then.", shouted Kelton and then took a big gulp of his drink.
James looked over at his commander worriedly while saying, "You okay corporal?"
"I'm fine. Go see if Schaefer is okay."
"Alright then."
James then walked off to go check on their other squadmate. Kelton looked around and spotted another one of his squadmates, Private Bowman. Bowman bumped into an angry looking sergeant who yelled, "WHAT DO YOU WANT!", at him.

Wide eyed and completely terrified Ran backed away slowly from the furious Sergeant. "I am so, so sorry, I didn't . . . Honest! Truly didn't mean it!" backing up Ran tried to think of something else to say.
Ran was terrified, this was his first angry Sergeant since boot camp. He just did what his instincts told him to do, try and distract him. "Sir, thats a wonder full ... hair.. cut." gulping Ran looked for an escape. spotting one of his squad mates he thought it was a man named Kelton.
Finally! an escape form this...angry...guy. he thought. He eyed Kelton nervously trying to signal him over without the Sergeant figuring out what he was trying to do.

Sergeant Dmitri Dombrovski |
Dmitri felt his buzz cut questionably, quickly slamming a boot on the ground in front of the scared marine, shouting, "WAS THAT AN INSULT!?" He looked at him, pissed off and angry and venting his anger on the kid.

Marine Captain James Maddox |
James walked in clad in his dress uniform, a fine assortment of medals on his left breast. He took a few heavy steps, trying to see what the situation in the bar was. There were widespread fights and drunks, blood was spilled on the ground, a table was smashed and glass was shattered in all directions. Soldiers stumbled around holding there glasses in the air shouting and joking, one of them throwing up in the corner. He shook his head in disgust, most of these people were disgraces, could not even control themselves. It also seemed that the only present Captain was not doing jack shit, he walked to the middle of the room and started shouting, banging his fist on a table to get everyone's attention, "IT SEEMS that the ONLY non drunk officer in this room has not done JACK SHIT!" He looked at the female Captain while saying, obviously pissed off, "So! The next idiot who throws a punch, bottle or kick! Will be given a DEMOTION!"

Sharan sighed quietly and pinched the bridge of his nose, as the loud marine blundered into the situation, the ODST striding forwards and patting the man on the shoulder, "Captain there is no need to screech the room can hear you loud and clear, asides from the few fights that have evidently already been broken up, I am SURE no one is going to start anything in-front of superior officers such as ourselves..."
He offered the man a smile ensuring that he could see the Major rank markings and the ODST identifiers on his dress uniform, "And you should not be starting fights with your fellow officers, in the first place, not all of these men are your responsibility...don't be idle and tread on the wrong toes here my friend, especially not in-front of senior officers."

Marine Captain James Maddox |
James sucked up his pride and sighed, not wanting to further deteriorate the situation to a point that would be costly to his career. He sneered at a soldier who stumbled out of the room hiccuping and then back at the Captain. James sighed and turned half way to the man who had just put a hand his shoulder. He looked at him for a minute, trying to asses him as best he could from the angle, noticing the major badge. He talked as professionally as he could to the officer, "My apologies sir, temper tends to get the better of me, I prefer it when my men aren't drunk in a bar beating each other when for all we know the Covenant can be barreling down on us." He forced a smile, hoping that his comment would not be taken the wrong way by his superior.

Sharan offered the man another smile, "You're right to be alert Captain, but we are very deep within the defence lines, they can be permitted some level of time to relax for their efforts, there are plenty of poor fellows who are spending the night on duty to pick up the slack for now, we can always use anti-toxicants on them if we really need the men sober ASAP."
He removed his hand off of the man's shoulder and nodded further into the rooms, "We can't have you insulting your fellow officers for not controlling them, expecially in the face of superior company, if it gets out of control to a true extent, then we should be laying down the law, but a few rowdy soldiers are permissible."

Idina awoke instantly, with all the training the drill sergeants had pounded into her, to the sound of a sharp, loud and commanding voice.
"-ONLY non drunk officer in this room has not done JACK SHIT!"
Idina looked into the open doorway and saw the Captain giving his ultimatum.
"So! The next idiot who throws a punch, bottle or kick! Will be given a DEMOTION!"
She cringed as she heard this. Thank god she hadn't gone too far overboard, or she might well have been one of the unlucky people having this Captain's wrath fall upon her.
She looked away as a Major started talking to him. Maybe she should just go to bed now, before someone started yelling at her. She never did like confrontation with superiors, especially ones who were officers.
So, she slipped away and made her way back to her room for the night.

Captain Sierra Lloyd Before they went inside, Gavin asked, “Family doing all right, ma’am?” Sierra nodded. It seemed the young platoon leader had overheard some of what she'd said as he'd approached. "Just fine, Lieutenant. Tired of the fireworks?" He smiled sheepishly. "Yes, ma'am. A little." Lloyd nodded again, but noticed that Lieutenant Fortnight still seemed hesitant to head inside. Sierra regarded him for a moment with a cocked eyebrow and said, "Okay, out with it, kid. What's on your mind?" "I just..." He shuffled his feet, staring at the ground. "I didn't stay out here for the pyrotechnics, Captain. I was looking up at the stars earlier and thinking about the war, about everyone who might be fighting the Covenant right now." The lieutenant ran a hand through his short hair and sighed. "To be honest I feel out of place here, ma'am. I've never fought aliens before - or even the Innies. I can't even begin to understand what it must be like for all these Marines and pilots and sailors who've just come back from a big campaign. I overheard some of them talking, ma'am. They've lost friends, watched people die, seen some awful shit. I don't know that I'd be able to deal with that." "Part of the job, Lieutenant, unfortunately." Sierra was at a loss for what else to say. Truth was the kid would never really understand it until he'd been through a campaign himself. "Just keep training hard, remember what you've been taught, and put it into practice. Some of it's just instinctual, too. A little known trade secret is that a lot of times you just fly by the seat of your pants and hope to God things work out." Though she'd said that last part with a slightly amused tone, she met his gaze now to let him know her next words were serious. "You'll know what to do when the time comes, El-Tee. Don't worry so much about it now." Slowly the lieutenant eased up. "Yes, ma'am." "Come on, kid. Let's head back inside and you can have a drink with us. I promise Koppre and James don't bite." Lieutenant Fortnight smiled sheepishly again as he followed the captain into the bar. Lloyd was making her way back to the table where her other platoon leaders were seated when she was suddenly accosted by a raving Marine captain. "IT SEEMS that the ONLY non drunk officer in this room has not done JACK SHIT!" he bellowed into the bar, staring daggers straight at her. "So! The next idiot who throws a punch, bottle or kick! Will be given a DEMOTION!" Captain Lloyd instantly grew livid at being publicly rebuked for actions outside of her dominion - and by a peer, no less, who seemed to think his same rank somehow gave him the right to judge her command. Noting the presence of an ODST major standing right beside them, Lloyd gave him a courteous nod and said, "Good evening, sir," before turning and directing a fierce scowl at the other captain. Ignoring his comments and not even deigning to respond directly to his accusation, she stepped closer so that she was in his face. "Before you go around talking shit, you push out two live eight-and-a-half-pound beings without meds and survive getting shot through the lungs by the goddamn Innies. Then come talk to me." Christ, Sierra thought. I go outside for five damn minutes to say goodnight to my kids, and all hell breaks loose.

"No! I wouldn't ever. Sir!" Kelton heard the worried Private Bowman say.
Although the man confronting his squadmate was a sergeant and outranked him, Kelton decided to try and act tough to help Bowman out. He walked over angrily to the sergeant.
"Knock it off! Leave him alone!"

Fisher was not totally surprised at the rejection of his really rather lame-assed and unoriginal pick up line. He gave her a hard look for a moment, tossing around an idea that involved making another attempt and asking her out again. Fisher toyed with it for awhile, but then he remembered the other time he had attempted such a feat, and he did not want to relive the experience.
Instead, he spun himself around on his bar stool and with one hand, pushed himself off and back into the writhing crowd. As he pushed aside and through drunken thralls of soldiers, sticking more or less to the bar until he reached a more secluded area.
Pulling himself back up on another seat and convinced there was not much else to do, Fisher decided it was throughly time to get drunk. Decision made, he swung around to order some beer. As the delightful amber liquid arrived and Fisher began to drink, he for a moment wondered about what was to come.
