Is it just me or have both intermissions turned into "Drunken Barfights: the RP"? Indeed. Anyone care to mix it up a little? You know, get some quality conversation going? After all, there IS more to social events than getting wasted...

Its certainly not inspiring me as to creativity...
Also HOW MANY TIMES DO I HAVE TO DRIVE THIS INTO YOUR HEAD the entire point of the Covenant festival as STATED in the FIRST post, is that you do NOT attempt to make clear your rank to others, it is simply obvious that certain people are more prestigious because of the QUALITY of the robes they can afford and soon.
No-one can tell if someone is a speific rank, only that they have monetary worth, there are Sangheili who are not in the military who still make enough money to look pretty. IS THIS CLEAR?

Yessir!
So, I'm thinking it'd be nice to have a focal point for the Covenant intermission, like a gathering or a show or anything. Otherwise it might just be pages of drivel until M3.

There's a Festival, there was a prior execution, there is plenty of space with which you can all gravitate towards - this is about flexing your RP muscles and applying initiative to the situation, there's a planet wide party, but its not IMPOSSIBLE for your characters to be present all in the same location - I didn't think anyone needed their hands held to guide them together.
Might I suggest that if you're really struggling the two most important people in your lives have both made speeches, one of which very clearly outlined the Covenant's next plan of action.
Next time I guess I'll just write a paragraph of text if your not going to bother reading the POST.
This was supposed to give you the chance to round out your characters, actually play them in a non-combat situation, Covenant warriors lead domestic lives people, you should be aware of the need to occasionally RP that fact when you make a Covenant character. If you do not feel comfortable with RPing a member of the Covenant as more than a two dimensional killing machine, then there is MORE than enough time to alter your signups to the UNSC.
No there aren't any social guidelines I can give you from canon but, says he hopefully, you can use your imaginations?
Note: Some of you are, and I give props for that.

Now I'm glad I read a lot of midevil era-based fantasy books. The lack of quality is getting my nerves. Never the less I did myself in my own situation so I am an idiot for opening my big mouth. But still I was hoping to make something interesting that could haunt my character at a later time. Oh boy, if it turns out that I half to hit Tavise and she finds out that he's in Spec Ops, OH HO the look o her face! Just wish Gir would post so I can move on, though.

As some one who's traditionally found domestic RP lame and boring I'm finding this quite... fun.

Normal RPing is all good, but barfights are fun. They can finish, then go back to verbaly abusing each other.

For goodness sake, posting these tiny two-paragraph posts gets us nowhere, and for the LAST TIME Duffle and OTHERS, you are not in ARMOUR, you cannot TELL someone is a Zealot by the fact they're wearing golden robes, you do not have AUTHORITY because this is the night of equality and only CERTAIN people have their armour on (and have authority), you are supposed to be relaxing and enjoying the festival, and the only people who seem remotley capable of writing that kind of thing is Seraph, Dr. Feel Good, Oresus, Gir and Darthpit.
There are POLICE about, if someone is actually beeing ATTACKED they will intervene, in addition, there is a methodology to posting, Duffle this applies to you expecialy when getting involved in a conflict/coversation between two individuals, WAIT UNTIL SOMEONE HAS HAD A CHANCE TO REACT BEFORE YOU POST AGAIN.
I've peeled back the posts again, because you're going to need to learn this methodology, when we do M3 which will follow a similar format.
So yes:
Please do not post tiny miniscule posts, it motivates us nowhere, in the case of you Duffle, it gives Seraph very little to react to for their far larger post it comes as very little tradeoff.
Please would you just accept that military rank is current negated, you are not, like the UNSC currently are in the covenant equivalent of 'dress uniform' - you are not flexing your ranks around, and you lack authority to intervene, if there's a NEED to intervene then there are NPCs around that I will use.
Please, if you have players trying to encourage people to come in and RP with them, go do so, instead of following little random side plots that have nothing to do with anyone else (it sorta builds things better).
Please, if someone else is interacting with another and you do get your character involved grant them time to react before you do anything more...otherwise you are railroading.

Okay, I'll just wait for somebody else to turn up so I can chat to them, then. But I'm just saying, it'd be helpful for anybody to create something other than a scuffle for people to react to. I'll think of something if there's still this nonsense by tomorrow.

Yes, I just posted something small, but I'm trying to start a conversation with Oresus' major, and there isn't really much I can say to him before he responds.

You could describe some movement around you or actions that your elite does himself... Hand gestures, if he looks at something.. Things just to give the other person to react to.

Thanks for the idea Seraph! And also, I thought that Sangheili were supposed to wear robes that sort of matched their armor color. Also, for those who haven't joined the RP yet. Wear purple robes showing your loyalty to the holy Covenant!!!

Some people have seemed to have chosen their rank markings, it really depends on the quality of pay, Zealots beeing basically nobility have the resources to come up with far more grandoise robes than just some plain golden ones.

I can sort of see a Zealot, a rank that's so high in Elite culture, would wear robes that reflected his rank out of pride. Although he wouldn't straight up say "yeah I'm a Zealot" he certainly wouldn't hide it.

Robes reflecting status or wealth, rather than rank.
You wouldn't be able to tell exactly.

Here I am, doing my part to make it the least Drunken Barfights: The RP like possible! So, help me out, my fellow RPer's! Let us not sink so low in RP potential!
