Third mission - the leadup to it, anyway - and so the third OOC Thread is born!
Use this thread to discuss the current mission and intermissions.

*Arranges a 21 gun salute for the crowning of OOC Thread the Third* When the Siberia is done, she could provide a 20 HLA/1 MAC salute. And, 21 Destroyers unless they're Greyhounds would be 42 guns.

Yea, but I meant like the Greyhounds were the guns so yes, it would be 42 MACs counting each individual one. I meant the ship itself would be the actual gun... That's a very powerful 21 gun salute...

Yay. Now I just have to start putting my characters in.
I'm thinking of putting my Prowler captain elsewhere for a bit, so it'll just be my flight crew and my field agent for the time being.

Hey first mission here. I'm looking forward to it and hope you Covenant go easy on me. No just kidding! Give it all you got! As for others, my character is very hardy and is going to have a lot of fun at this drinking party.

Time for Deiran and Co. to lay more close range smackdown MARINE CORPS REPRESENT! Also, just thought of something for ODSTs to sing when they drop in (adapted from MoH: Airborne): "Who do the Marine Corps trust the most?" "HELLJUMPERS!""Who do the ladies love the most?" "HELLJUMPERS!""Who do the Covies fear the most?" HELLJUMPERS!!!"HELLJUMPERS BABY!"

Cracker, you do know that TECHNICALLY 'Helljumpers' is the nickname for the 105th ODST Division?

Kartoff, as Abroad said no one is wearing their armor except what I think is the Covenant copy of "cops." So none of you guys would be wearing major nor minor armor. They should be wearing the traditional Sangheili clothing, robes.

They should be wearing the traditional Sangheili clothing, robes. I wouldn't put wearing their higher ranking armors in civilian situations above the Elites. Like an Ultra or a Zealot wouldn't walk down the streets to buy groceries in their armor, but in a celebration or what ever I wouldn't be surprised.

In this case, as was stated in the post, the rules of the festival you are attending forbids the armour except for the 'police'.

Kart, your second post has been deleted, as it was full of things that were wrong...
To make it clear to everyone who apparently didn't READ the description of the Festival the rules are as follows.
1) Noone wears armour or carries weapons (legally) the Covenant do not own their own equipment, except for Plasma blades, but those are covered by the fact that the first night of the festival is celebrating the unification of the Prophets and Sangheili as EQUALS and so everyone is supposed to be EQUALS for the night a Plasma Blade marks someone of much higher status (there's a reason its only one short night a year).
What does this mean? It means Elites are going around in Kimonos/Robes, and everyone else in whatever they want to declare is their traditional dress sense - there are no Hunters on the streets, Worms don't know how to party. As noted you will inevitably be able to spot differently ranked people based on the quality of their costume, but everyone sorta-pretends to be equal, just in reality are aware of the fact that they aren't.
2) TECHNICALLY all of the races are equals on this night, but in reality everyone has their racial place, highlighting the fact that in reality many of the races are subordinate to the two ruling races.
3) There are Law Enforcers present, these being Sangheili Policemen essentially, and although they're outnumbered by most of the crowds present, they are FULLY armed and FULLY armoured - and WILL come down on people if they do start fights in public areas.

Why would they, anyway? It's not like the Covenant is plagued by an Insurrection or anything like that with the obvious exception of the Sangheili/Jiralhanae and Unggoy/Kig-Yar disputes, the former of which hasn't boiled over yet and the latter won't happen on a big scale ever again after what happened in 2462. There's no reason for anybody to start a fight other than to satisfy the player's virtual bloodlust!
Sorry.
