Spirit, you're posts in the Main Mission are to be disregarded for the time being.
For one thing, there were no ground forces on the planet prior to the recent landings, you can't just jump forwards 2 hours, ever.
Also, you would not find a Covenant Computer just lieing around, and even if you did you wouldn't be able to use or read it. This early into the war, we don't even know what the Covenant are saying, nevermind having the ability to use their technology, apart from their weapons.
I've left your posts up so you can change them if you want insted of me outright deleting them.

Right...
You may be wondering just where the hell the Missions just went. Well they went away, far away, to the great big archive in the sky to be exact.
The reason why? Because what was originally meant to be a stealth based mission in which we take the enemy by suprise turned into a massive shit storm of weird posts and extravegant posts which were all over the place.
For example, Maxii's Spartan was one of the last to land, for some reason, while Dusty was off killing entire Platoons of Covenant Soldiers.
The main idea was to wait for everyone to arrive at the LZ, which had already been scouted to be clear of any enemy forces and then to proceed from there to the Grav Lift and fuck shit up.
Granted, missions can go wrong, I have no problem with us getting found before we get to the grav lift, making it an all out assault but to throw it all away within seconds is rediculous. At the rate we were going at we would of been wiped out because we'd of had nothing to defend against the Serephs with, we'd of been up against waves of organised troops even before we got to the Grav Lift, which would of been fortified by the time we got there and we would of been without reinforcements for at least 2 hours.
People really need to start thinking realisticly about the things that happen. I took down the missions to be restarted so that we could at least try to complete it like it was planned. It gets confusing when people don't wait for others and end up marching ahead doing their own thing.
Take this as a muligan for now. If the mission goes wrong again I won't let you restart, unless of course it really warrents it like this time. If you do silly things, expect all your characters lives to become extremely difficult in the near future.

it wasnt just me killing everything! i had a whole platoon with me! like the platoon sized force walked into a killzone, where a whole other platoon shot at it! it was gonna sustain some deaths.
Regardless, I STAND BY MY ACTIONS!

Dusty, are you a Lieutenant? No, Corporals don't command Platoons.
There was no reason for you to go off with an entire Platoon and start ruffing up Covenant.
Anyway, Mission 2: Take 2 is up, I've done things a little differently this time in the ground ops part...

Part of the problem too is that people aren't reading eachothers posts. That's a general problem with RP in general. I understand that it sucks to read through a page an a half of posts sometimes...But that's what you have to do. It shouldn't be a chore. I posted plenty of information as the Covvies, how their defenses were staged, what kind of units to stage....And people were still encountering large platoon force sizes of elites.

Caster is exacitally right. This is the main cause of confusion and problems in the RP.
When people either just skim read or blatantly ignore other peoples posts it defeats the object of the RP. The very fact that its a text based forum RP should make it obvious that you should be here to read others posts for enjoyment and actively respond to what they have put, not just carry on in your own little world...

I have to agree with Elando and Caster, actually this wasn't even an RPG, it was mostly people writing down fanfics with their owns characters, instead of interacting with other players and other posts, suddenly everyone was on the ship and then everyone one was descending with their own teams and killing everything and everyone. One could post something waiting for someone else to reply but instead everyone else (or at least) was having its own little private war.
Lets RPG, interact and help each other! Lets create a story all together

Lets create a story all together Thats another thing. We've got off to a good start so far but I'd like to see alot more interaction between different members. Another thing is that people need to learn that this will be quite a slow process. You'll no doubt be waiting around for anywhere between 30 mins to a few days for someone to reply to your post, just don't get agitated if they don't reply straight away...

Just to let Caster and anyone else know, the idea of High gravity was scrapped because we just simply wouldn't be able to function under those conditions.
Armour, backpacks and weapons are already very heavy, the thought of having that weight doubled would be silly. So its just masses of lovely toxic fumes and lava fields to contend with on this mission.

Nay. And Dusty, you can't have your Albatrosses meet up with the Pelicans... Your Albatrosses are over 200,000 kilometres away behind Hydrus. If Task Force Arnhem had moved to the planet they would've been spotted extremely easily by the Seraphs either on their acceleration burn or almost certainly on their deceleration burn. Sending the Albatrosses alone would be suicide as they might not even have enough Delta-V for such a manuever, never mind the Seraphs which could pick them off one by one.
All it would accomplish would be to alert the Covenant to our presence, and you should keep OOC in the OOC thread.

yeah so the rocket launcher wont be used, until we're engaging the large scale covenant forces around the grav lift. Also, feel free to hop in me pelican, we need guests. Like Nex and cracker could get in, then it would only have 3 seats, like 3 spartans. that would be an awesome roadtrip. Well descent, but still

Lol, that was totaly quoted from Mechwarrior 4.
"Keep comms clear, Steiner can hone in on any transmission. Even bad jokes."
"Casey, Now that the comm centres down, you can probably tell that joke." "Negative, it wasn't that good anyway"
