The video recording went active once more, revealing a very different location from the room aboard the Panther. Rather than a closed personal space, it was a vast room of advanced architecture, though some areas had clearly fallen into disrepair. The silvery walls shined as though they were polished metal, with lines etched throughout the surface. The elegance and graceful workings of the structure were beyond comparison. A light fogged held about the place, dimly colored cyan due to the presence of the light that seemed to emanate from the walls.
Within view of the camera was a makeshift research station for the ONI operatives on-site. It wasn't that notable at the moment. Several tables, chairs, mattresses, and plenty crates unloaded from the Panther. It'd be a bit before the place was up and running. Footsteps echoed throughout the massive place as Velara walked in front of the camera. She wore a different set of clothing than the day before, this time donning scientist gear befitting of her role. She checked to see if the camera was on, and after confirming, she practically boiled with excitement as she finally spoke up.
"November 2nd, 2552: Good news! We've established a base of operations within the ruins, and have begun exploring the area. It's incredibly vast, and we've already uncovered a wealth of information. This place... definitely the remains of an advanced civilization. Forerunner? Not quite sure. We'll have to run some more surveys about the place. There are some striking similarities, but there's something off. For one, even if this structure is fairly advanced in nature, a civilization like the Forerunners are typically above even that. This is almost primitive in comparison. At best, this is on par with Covenant technology, if not a step above."
Velara paused for a brief moment, stared at the ground, and made a frown. Looking back at the camera, she continued.
"But that's not the only thing that's off. I have a weird... 'feeling', about this place. I don't know how to explain it. It's like there's a constant buzzing or ringing the back of my head, a white noise. Very faint, but it's definitely there when focused in on."
"Who knows. Maybe I'm overthinking things." She shrugged. "Blaire Velara, signing off."
