A wave of static shot across the screen for a moment, before the video recording's resolution settled into a clear picture. It wasn't the highest quality, but it'd have to do. A lone woman sat in front of the camera, stationed in a room at a desk riddled with various supplies, including her personal DATA-PAD. It was clear she was an unorganized person, but she managed with it nonetheless. The pale-skinned woman wore casual garments, such as a white T-Shirt, a pair of Khakis, and her square black-rimmed glasses that brought out her blue eyes. Her blonde hair was also tied back into a small pony tail. After clearing her throat, she finally spoke up.
"Hello, my name is Blaire Velara, and I am a Xenoarchaeologist working under Section I of the Office of Naval Intelligence. I will be starting a series of journal entries in the form of video recordings, detailing my time aboard the Prowler designated 'Panther'. I will also be documenting the progress of my current assignment, to which the Panther is already in route. The crew, consisting of several Field Agents and Xeno-scientists, are rather antsy to get to our objective."
Blaire took a short pause to catch a breath and pull up her mission files on her DATA-PAD. After a brief moment, she continued speaking.
"Current date is November 1st, 2552. We are exiting slipspace at the moment, heading towards the oceanic planet 'Trident'. From what I know, it's a recently discovered planet, and survey teams have found a derelict structure on the surface. The planet is entirely covered in water, so it's a wonder how such a structure could exist above sea-level. It appears to be rather advanced ruins of some sort. Because of the possibility of Forerunner tech being involved here, we are being sent to investigate. I have my doubts, though. Typically, Forerunner tech is far more advanced than this. Regardless, my mission is as follows: Survey the ruins, document the area and my time there, uncover any knowledge that can be gathered about the place, as well as anything that could be of value."
Blaire momentarily yawned, rather groggy. She looked back at the door to her room and then to the camera.
"Right, I've only just woken up and I haven't had my coffee yet. While I'm at it, I should get some breakfast too. Going to end this log here. This is Blaire Velara, signing off."
