Hi there! I'm Stories, and I'm about to explain why that's my name. I love writing, but have trouble sticking really well to details and whatnot. For that reason, I mostly love the story. The story of the universe, of the character, of a gun, or anything. I love hearing people's stories and I like to tell my own. So! I was going to wait to be better known to post this, but I had free time. Anyways! This pet project is basically an ongoing story that requires participation from a number of writers. One person starts with a small story in mind that has almost no details, and then writes a small piece that consciously leaves out specifics. Then, another writer, from a different perspective (another character, the same character but a split personality, a sentient animal/beast/horror/thing, talking cup, whatever) adds onto the story, puts a couple of details here and there. Eventually, the scene and cast will be somewhat set, and when everyone is finished, it'll come back around to the first writer, finishing the first segment. We all know the very barebones plot and work to get there. In theory. Plans to hijack the story or make huge twists are totally allowed as long as it at least kind of meshes with everything else. This is not a serious project, so I ask you have fun, do it your way, and it's everyone else's job to work with what other people put and still write what they want. I have no idea how it will go, but I can't wait to see what happens.
Plot: A man with two swords walks through desert towns to reach a launch site. Even he does not know what awaits him.
Mumbling to himself, the man wipes his brow, trying to remove the sand that seemingly etched itself into his skin. Trudging forward, he walked into a building, removing his hat. The swords on his back and hip felt heavy, but he refused to remove them as he sat down at a table. He felt eyes on him, but resisted the urge to look. It was best not to draw too much attention, being the man he was in a place like this.
And that's the first piece. Every other detail is up for whoever wants to take part. The first pieces and segments will be shorter, but hey, we might have a pretty long story by the end of this.
