CHAPTER 1 – WELCOME TO THE DESSARIN VALLEY PLAYER(S): BetaWülf , Faclan , Seraph , Zenith , Remnant , Huka ((In keeping with the unwieldy nature of using that oversized crossbow, I'll let chance decide who your target is since you didn't specify, Fac. Heads for bandit 5, tails for bandit 4. Result is... tails.)) GONFF CROSSBOW ATTACK (DISADVANTAGE): (1d20+3) (14) (2) [5] - MISS!There was a heavy snap as the unbalanced mouse attempted to fire the enemy weapon. The bolt sliced through the air... in the general direction of the Crushing Wave bandits occupying Deran's wagon. Both of the men paused for a split-second, their heads following the projectile's trajectory as it harmlessly shot by them with a wide berth. Then they looked over in the direction it came from. "Get the mouse!" yelled the one with the sword before returning his attention to Alder. The one with the crossbow loaded in another bolt and then adjusted his aim as Gonff began to scamper away... BANDIT 4 CROSSBOW ATTACK: (1d20+3) (17) [20] - HIT!PIERCING DAMAGE: (1d10+3) (4) [7]GONFF HP: 12/19((If I don't have any particular description for when a player lands a hit with an attack or gets hit by one (like now), that means the player has free reign to describe the strike or the wound based on the damage dealt. Also, since I've refreshed your actions by posting the results of your previous turn, you are now free to take another turn Fac. That's how this "real initiative" policy rewards active players.)) (( SUMMARY: Bandit 4 retaliates for getting shot at and wounds Gonff.))

Nivara FendrakeChapter 2 Nivara heard the tiny elf tell her to be nice, growling a little. So Meri knew these people? It didn't matter to her, she had been shown how to get out of this fog, and learned that the Elder was not the cause of it. She had all the information she needed. This conversation really didn't need to continue. "hak si geou qe shafaer sia idol" She said coolly, turning the horse towards the path. She stopped though, hearing a sound through the fog. Gradually at first and then growing alarmingly louder she heard a repeated, heavy whump! whump! kind of noise from somewhere up above, similar to the sound of somebody spreading out bed sheets. Another sound mixed in there is a dull, hollow metallic clatter. Still another is like that of deep, unsettlingly ravenous heavy mouth breathing. The creepy noises alone likely aren't enough to spook a kirin bred for battle, at least not until some kind of Large (as in the size category) shape suddenly comes swooping by out of nowhere, spooking the Kirin. It reared up and flipped itself into its back in a panic, not used to such large creatures. Nivara pushed the Elf off the horse, probably ruining her Stealth as she fell back with the startled creature. ((That was sent to me by SC, I only altered how Nivara was removed from the horse)) With a loud oof the Dragonborn landed on the ground, her kirin landing fully on top of her((Damage check? She would be used to such things though)). Thankfully it rolled off her and she was able to stop him from running away, befre asking the obvious question. "What was that..."

(Man...that first 14 roll was so good, darn you disadvantage!) Chapter 1 Gonff, Mousefolk Bard - on the big ol Stone Bridge Owwwwwww ;_; 12/19 HP Gonff, having heard the call of 'getting the mouse' was worried that he was about to be attacked but maybe his cuteness could help? Then again he did try to kill them so...Whiskers! He should have just stayed low and moved to free the Owlbear! He glanced backwarss as he was pulling out his knife, near the Owlbear - and could only squeak in fear and surprise at the crossbow aimed at him. And then scream in pain when it pierced into his left arm arm. Thankfully not pinning it to his torso but is sure did hurt. A lot. Gonff just continuing to scream as he staggered sideways from the impact before bumping against the cart he had been trying to reach. Trying not to look at the large shaft stuck in his arm Gonff finally stopped screaming as he fumbled a little with his dagger before attempting to cut the rope tying the Owlbear to the cart. Hopefully before the big beast decided that he would be a good mauling target. And hopefully the bear would see that its master was in danger and go to help. [Unsure if this would be a handle animal check (+3) since hes trying to free it but theres the check if needed] With that done Gonff did his best to try and clamber up the Wagon and inside so he could get his own proper crossbow...span it with his feet if needed - and give those bastards some return fire. But the large shaft in his arm was making it quite challenging. [May be provoking an attack of opportunity, and that may be an athletics check (-1), poor Gonff :< ] Summary: Ow. Was hit and then tried to free the owlbear before attempting to climb into the wagon.

Meri, Wood Elf Rogue CHAPTER 2 - Homeward Bound
For a while no one said anything as the two Dragonborn were in a standoff and Meri opted to stay silent. Surprisingly, the child spoke up, saying something in the strange language everyone but her seemed to know. At her words Kardesh seemed to relax a bit. He even spoke something in Common which she almost missed. He pointed to the road to Red Lark and asked them to leave. Nivara said something and turned the Dragon-horse to leave. Meri looked out into the fog that still blanketed the land and cringed. She didn’t think it was a good idea. They should have waited it out for she feared whatever caused this fog was most likely something neither of them could handle. As if to confirm her fears, she heard a noise coming out of the fog. It sounded like a large pair of wings flapping in the air and the fact that it was coming from above them supported her theory. As it got closer she began to hear the rattle of metal and labored, heavy breathing. A monster no doubt to slay them all. This caused Meri to scrunch on top of the Dragon-horse as her mind raced through all of the horrifying possibilities, real and imagined, it could be. Suddenly a large shape came out of nowhere, spooking both Meri and the Dragon-horse. The steed reared up in fear and Meri tried to hold on but was pushed off it. She crumpled on the ground, looking up to see it was before the Dragonborn family. “Uh...hi,” she said with an awkward smile and wave. Meri heard a heavy thud behind her. She quickly got up and looked around. She couldn’t see it but the thing was out there. She was able to tell what direction it was from the heavy breathing and whatever strange language it was mumbling to itself as it seemed to draw closer to them. A part of her hoped that whatever this was wasn’t hostile and simply lost, it didn’t attack them after all, but the realist in her told her it was unlikely. However the pragmatic part of her told her it was best to hide no matter the outcome. Whatever it was, Nivara was going to attack it no matter it’s intentions. Meri was sure of that even with how little she knew about her. The Wood Elf went right of the direction of where the noise was coming from, drawing her bow as she let the fog consume her. Summary: Really not wanting to leave. Wish granted by monster coming out of nowhere. Unhappy to be shoved off Dragon-horse, officially greeted Kardesh and kid, pulling out bow and vanished into the fog going right to Stealth (Reminder of Mask of the Wild), realizing Nivara will most likely just beat the Kolbolds out of it without saying hi.

CHAPTER 2 – HOMEWARD BOUND PLAYER(S): Seraph , LaxKnight , edtosivaree ((Mental map: The cottage is to the players’ back. The creature is to your front. Nivara and Brimstone are in front of Kardesh and Elloai, and Meri is off to the right.)) MERI STEALTH CHECK: (1d20+7) (5) [12]As Meri faded into the fog, the prowling beast continued to approach. It stayed hunched low to the ground like a cat stalking prey, albeit not very stealthily as it continued to breathe in eager, heavy gasps while continuing to babble to itself like some demented child. As it neared, they could see its hideous details begin to take shape through the fog. Surrounded by a shaggy mane was an ugly humanoid face with wild eyes and a wide bloodstained maw. Dangling from a piece of rope wedged between two fangs in the corner of its mouth was a cowbell, which explained the dull metallic rattle. ((Creature's appearance, straight out of the Monster Manual)) Unleashing a piercing cry that was more of a wail then a roar, it pounced forward at the obsidian-scaled dragonborn! CREATURE MULTIATTACK:CLAW: (1d20+5) (13) [18] – HIT!SLASHING DAMAGE: (1d6+3) (2) [5]BITE: (1d20+5) (18) [23] – HIT!PIERCING DAMAGE: (1d8+3) (2) [5]NIVARA HP: 18/33(( SUMMARY: The creature attacks Nivara.))

Chapter 1: WELCOME TO THE DESSARIN VALLEY Morgana Cromren, Human Fighter/Currently a Bar Maid Combat On The Brigde In Good Health - Cry Havoc! And Let Slip The Dogs of War! ---- It had all happened so fast...at first she had simply tried to distract the cultists and then the hooded traveler had sprung into action. The soon to be revealed bugbear had gone into a wild rage and in doing so lashed out against the bandits. Then all hell had broken loose upon the stone bridge. Soon Morgana was forced to fall back into the crowd as the battle would rage around her like a hurricane of steel and shouting. Soon from behind the wagon opposite from them a druid would join the fight, this time going straight for Hawthrone and his captors in an attempt to no doubt free him from his situation. It was an action that ended in a struggle which as brief as it was brutal before both sides disengaged to draw their weapons. In the struggle the oxen where spooked, sending them charging forwards and threatening to crush all in their path to death. Morgana's eyes widened as she dove clear northward though others would not be so lucky. By the time she rose to her feet as she could see was blood from the kind old caravan driver and some injuries held solid among the group. That is when her fury was aroused from within her breast. They had caused harm to a man who had done them no wrong and from which they had only brought suffering upon those they made prey of. They were no better than the bandits!Morgana snarled before pulling open the bindings of the bedroll she had been so careful to gather up earlier, revealing a rather strange object for a bar maid to own. Rolled within the sleeping roll was a sword. She pulled the weapon free before taking a moment to attach the sheath to the small belt that traced around the waist of her dress as well as return the sleeping roll to her backpack. Then her eyes would focus on Doran's sons and company, relief showing when she saw the cleric standing over the wounded old man. "Keep your heads down an stay low!" She would bark out before whirling to see how the situation had progressed. Now both the druid and the other man she had meet in her wagon faced down the man who had stopped them and the bandit leader, a fight in which she hoped to once again stack the odds in. That is until she heard the Mousefolk bard cry out in agony. The woman whirled to see Gonff trying to quickly scurry to cover as his attackers began to rain crossbow bolts upon him. There she would take a mighty strides towards Bandit 4. Her intent was to take attention off Gonff, and indeed she might get it in this way. She would then climb up onto the wagon (Strength/Athletics Check) , take a moment to bring her sword to the ready. Then if she would get the opportunity she would bring the sword in a slashing arch towards the Bandit's neck. (Attack roll on Bandit 4 if I am able, if not I'll edit this bit out) Summery: Morgana enters the fray! The bar maid retrieve her sword from where she had hidden it within her bed roll. Then upon noticing the mousefolk bard in trouble she takes to the idea of trying to take the Cultists head off to take their attention off the wounded Gonff.

(Meant attack of opportunity for other bandits since Gonff was focusing on other actions but glad the bear didn't swing at him either D: ) Chapter 1 Gonff, Mousefolk Bard - on the big ol Stone Bridge Leaf me alone! 12/19 HP Grunting and huffing, in both exertion and pain, Gonff kept trying to jump and clamber up into the wagon. But with only one fully responsive arm it was proving a lot more challenging that he thought it would be. Lil mouse clearly doesnt lift! At least he had gotten the Owlbear free so he could get to mauling and clawing as he had heard it start to trundle off. But after finally getting a good hold on the side of the wagon a bolt slammed into the wood right beside him. Making Goff fall down to the bridge again. Sending out a colorful stream of squeaks and hisses of Squeak Speak curses Gonff used the big bolt to his advantage of another handhold and FINALLY made it up and into the wagon. Flopping over the ledge a bit and landing on his back as he took a moment to breath before he would try to get to his pack and crossbow...Hopefully he would still be able to play his instruments after this! Summary: Wehed and cursed for being hit, finally in the Wagon, worried about future career.

Chapter 1 Ruutok, Half-Orc DruidThe old shaman blinked when seemingly in a blink of an eye there was a flash of steel and the sound of wood c lacked against. Ruutok found himself faced with the jeering Visage of nine other than Justran once again. He took a step back to recover and steel himself. The prospect of facing the leader of these brigands alone was not a reasurring one. But right now he was the only one in the way to help the helpless Hawethorne. "Hmph...so be it." Grunted Ruutok in response. All he could do for now was attempt to delay the cultists' escape and by time for the others to perhaps rally. Uncertain of how the shaman would fair against the cultist leader whom was clearly skilled in fighting. With magic still flowing through the staff Ruutok raised his staff in both hands and brings it down toward Justran's head in an overhead swing. ((Forced to face off against Justran, Ruutok resigns to serving as a distraction for the time being to delay the cultists' escape. With Shileleigh still active Ruutok swings this time for the cultist leader. Concentration on Pass Without Trace still active.)) ********** Chapter 2 - Home Coming Kardesh Saiyavek, Drangborn Wizard
Kardesh had stood watching after Nivara announced her departure and turned her great mount to leave. When a large shape swooped down from the sky, surprising everyone, before landing heavily nearby. The sudden commotion made Elloai squeal in fright as she behind her father once again! The older Dragonborn however only watched silently, waiting. The male turned his head for a moment to regard the pile from which fell off the back of the rider's mount when it threw Nivara. From underneath crawled the form of a dainty looking girl whom merely flashed the pair a curt greeting and smile awkwardly in that odd way hominids did. The scholar only blinked with his mouth slightly agape before turning back to the odd creature that seem to be stalking close by. Kardesh did not wait to for to see what this new arrival was before ordering his daughter to go inside and lock the door to wait for him there. She was hesitant, shaken with tiny quickened breaths, but obeyed as she hurried off and disappeared around the side of the house. The sound of deep throaty growls and incessant mumbling drew his attention as he slipped a hand into his coat once again, watching. They did not have to wait long though... From the mist the creature came, ugly and misshaped, the creature resembling a large cat with bat-like wings. The moment it lunged for Nivara was the when in a smooth motion the scholar produced a glowing object from his coat pocket. Holding his left hand outstretched the object was revealed a flat stone the size of his palm which glowed with an unearthly violet light. The stone began to hover in Kardesh's palm as he began to chant a melody that rose from his throat. It was no secret that this display was one of magic and that the chanting was the preparations of a spell. Blade Song activates: On Bonus Action
B l a d e s i n g e r (Bladesong): - Twice a day you may activate Bladesong with a Bonus Action. Effects ends upon dismissal at any time by you, wearing armor heavier than Light, using a shield or two handed weapon, and if incapacitated. Regain use after short or Long rest. - Gain a bonus to your AC equal to your INT modifier. Increased walking speed by 10ft. - Have advantage on Acrobatics checks. - Gain bonus to CON saves on concentration of spell equal to you INT modifier. Kardesh let the crystal hover in the air before him while with the same hand making a gesture as if lifting something. A large stone no more than ten pounds began to float into the air. With merely a wave of the hand in creature's direction the stone was sent hurdling through the air toward the beast from the group's left. Kardesh casts the spell Cataplult: As an Action use one 2nd level Spell Slot. Spell save DC 14 Damage to roll is 4d8+6 on failed Dexterity saving throw. Catapult 1st-level transmutation
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: 150 feet Components: S
Duration: Instantaneous
Choose one object weighing 1 to 5 pounds within range that isn’t being worn or carried. The object flies in a straight line up to 90 feet in a direction you choose before falling to the ground, stopping early if it impacts against a solid surface. If the object would strike a creature, that creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. On a failed save, the object strikes the target and stops moving. In either case, both the object and the creature or solid surface take 3d8 bludgeoning damage.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the maximum weight of objects that you can target with this spell increases by 5 pounds, and the damage increases by 1d8, for each slot level above 1st. ((Summarry: Kardesh orders Elloai to go hide inside the house until the danger has passed. Had nothing profound to say of Meri's sudden appearance. As the beast attacks Nivara, Kardesh produces his Spellcasting Focus from his pocket and initiates Blade Song with his bonus action. He then casts the spell Catapult on a nearby heavy stone weighing approximately 10 pounds and flings it at the beast from the left.))

Chapter 1 Gonff, Mousefolk Bard - on the big ol Stone Bridge Take dat! 12/19 HP At least he was in the wagon now...but owwwwww bolt in the arm! Grunting and doing his best to not weh more about it Gonff sat up and then crawled over to his pack that was resting in the wagon. Working as quick as he could Gonff undid the straps holding the weapon to the backpack and then pulled up a bolt from the box on his belt. Slipping the bolt sideways in his mouth the Mousefolk sat down and placed both his feet on the arms of the crossbow to help him span the weapon. A small weapon for most but just right for Gonff. And with the crossbow successfully spanned Gonff moved back over to the back of the wagon that he climbed over and set the crossbow on the back wooden pannel to help steady it was he looked to see what had happened since he crawled into the Wagon. The nice but brash lady who had complimented him was busy chopping through some of the ones that had fired at him. Well he had fired first but nevermind that! Gonff still wanted some revenge for shooting him! So the Mousefolk took aim at Bandit 5 in the drivers seat and let loose the small bolt! [The damage of the light Crossbow is 1d8 Piercing, and I have a +5 attack here but I think it would actually be a +3 since thats my dex, but could be wrong.] Summary: Now in the wagon Gonff spanned his crossbow before firing at Bandit 5, for revenge!

Meri, Wood Elf Rogue CHAPTER 2 - Homeward Bound
Meri watched as Nivara got bit and slashed by the monster. Definitely not friendly. She then watched Kardesh shoo the little Dragonborn girl away to go inside. Meri very much wished to go with her but her friend was in danger. The male Dragonborn pulled out some glowing violet stone from his pocket, sang a song, and suddenly a boulder flew into the air, smashing the thing in the head and forcing it to release her acquaintance. Angered, it threw a spike at Kardesh but it missed! Meri isn’t a fighter but she had to save her friend. From the fog she drew her bowstring back and fired at the beast. Summary: Meri fires a Sneak Attack with her bow. Sneak Attack Details: S n e a k A t t a c k Beginning at 1st level, you know how to strike subtly and exploit a foe’s distraction. Once per turn, you can deal an extra 1d6 damage to one creature you hit with an attack if you have advantage on the attack roll. The attack must use a finesse or a ranged w eapon. You don’t need advantage on the attack roll if another enemy o f the target is within 5 feet o f it, that enemy isn’t incapacitated, and you don’t have disadvantage on the attack roll. The amount o f the extra damage increases as you gain levels in this class, as shown in the Sneak Attack column o f the Rogue table.
At lvl 3, extra damage is 2D6

CHAPTER 2 – HOMEWARD BOUND PLAYER(S): Seraph , LaxKnight , edtosivaree ((Attack results, including monster's next turn)) The creature did let go Edto, so your option with Fire Bolt is what I’m using.
NIVARA FIRE BOLT ATTACK: (1d20+6) (9) [15] – HIT! FIRE DAMAGE: (1d10) [8]
MERI SHORTBOW ATTACK (ADVANTAGE): (1d20+5) (12) (7) [17] – HIT! SNEAK ATTACK! PIERCING DAMAGE: (3d6+3) (1) (6) (4) [14]
I’ll go ahead and put the monster’s rolls here too. It’s just going all out against Kardesh at the moment because boy did that rock hurt! It’ll actually provoke an Opportunity Attack from Nivara on its way there.
Just realized I’m not sure if your family sword has any special name or features, so in the attack description I’ll just put “longsword” for now. I’m also just going to assume you’d want to make a two-handed swing for that extra damage.
NIVARA LONGSWORD OPPORTUNITY ATTACK: (1d20+6) (16) [22] – HIT! SLASHING DAMAGE: (1d10+6) (2) [8]
CREATURE MULTIATTACK! CLAW: (1d20+5) (12) [17] – MISS! CLAW: (1d20+5) (8) [13] – MISS! BITE: (1d20+5) (19) [24] – HIT! PIERCING DAMAGE: (1d8+3) (2) [5] KARDESH HP: 19/24 Nivara blasted the winged monstrosity with fire and a well-placed shot from Meri whistled out of the fog into its hide, but its one-track mind ignored these things. Its wild eyes glared at Kardesh with a primal determination. It jumped straight over Nivara in an effort to start mauling the Dragonborn elder as soon as possible, even ignoring the cut she delivered out of reflex. Landing between Kardesh and Nivara, the large beast proceeded to savagely bear down upon the former. However, the Bladesinger’s agility proved to be almost too elusive for the creature to pin down. Only by sheer relentlessness did it eventually manage to sink its teeth into him, and by then he was nearly physically smothered by its mass. SUMMARY:Monster moves Nivara scores Opportunity Attack Monster attacks Kardesh

Chapter One Alder Spinebreker: Bugbear Barbarian Enough is enoughAlder landed nimbly in front of the Cultist that was heading for Deran's wagon, hitting the Human with a backswing from his Morningstar with such force it sent the man flying off his feet and crashing onto the stone of the bridge several feet away from the furious pseudo-ursine. Before Alder could take another swing, however, he found himself rolling out of the way of a crossbow bolt with an angered roar. As Alder stood after his roll he took a moment to take stock of the situation at hand, seeing as his opponent was out of commission. It was all happening so fast, and the Bugbear was having difficulty rationalizing through his rage. It was all a blur of red and darkness, all of his emotions funneled into a narrow window of view. Each breath was heavy, everything he did intensified by the hatred behind his yellow eyes; the smell of blood strong in the air. Alder was broken from his thoughts as a crossbow bolt whizzed past his face, the Bugbear snarled in surprise and bared his teeth with eyes flared wide. Alder roared viciously as he regained his bearing, his grip on his Morningstar tightening greatly. Alder ran at the Cultist with his Morningstar held high, the Bugbear taking a mighty swing at the Cultist in an attempt to dispatch the Ape-filth. Summary: Alder reacts to the failed attacks on him, dodging the bolt from Bandit #5 and then being missed by Bandit #3, and then attacks Bandit #3. Depending on how Bardic Inspiration works, I would like to save it for my next turn, if it is a "use it now or not at all" kind of thing then I will go with using it on my attack roll in the manner you suggested previously.

Chapter 1- Welcome too the Dessa Rian Valley Ruutok, Half-Orc DruidRuutok twirled the staff hands before bringing it back up for defense. A small smirk flashed a crossed his lips with the satisfaction the sound of wood small king against his opponents skull. He had to admire the man's resilience for still standing after such a blow. Yet it was to his surprise when Justran suddenly shifted tactics and unexpectedly threw the sword like spear! Ruutok ducked just time as the blade sailed over his head. After the look of surprise wore off the old shaman let out a hardy laugh?! "Oh ho HO! And a sly fox you are indeed! Come now, pup. Show this old wolf how clever you are." Ruutok began to twirl the staff before lashing out against Justran with an upward jab from below with butt of the staff. ((Summary: Ruutok jeers at Justran a little before swinging at the cultist leader again with his staff. Use bonus action to maintain Shillelagh.)) *********** Chapter 2- Homecoming Kardesh, Dragonborn WizardKardesh's eyes narrowed when the beast turned to face, watching it carefully. It was only by the slight twitch of the tail before one of its til barbs came through the air like a balista bolt! The Dragonborn however seemed to move just as quickly when he seemed to miss the barb by inches with a simple side step! He did not seem to flinch nor panic as if he were in a trance. Maintaining concentration on the incantation the scholarly Dragonborn kept the beast's attention whilst the shadow - scale and an certain unseen marksman retaliated in their own way. Yet the beast seemed to care not going for Kardesh instead with all its fury when it lept at him! He danced away the the first swipe. Then wove around the second. Then the beast lurched forward unexpectedly and came down upon like cat on a mouse! Caught under the monster's weight the elder acted quickly. Clutching the magic stone in his hand his voice groaned under the pain. He gestured toward the spike stuck in the wall behind him before throwing his hand forward and the spike with it as the object jumped to life! ((Summary: While being confronted by the monster Kardesh casts Catapult using a 1st Level spell slot and throws the creature's own tail spike. Not sure how heavy it is. I can make a correction if needed.))

CHAPTER 1 - WELCOME TO THE DESSARIN VALLEY Theron Helius, Human Champion((Written in collaboration with DM SuperCommando )) Continued from this post: yappashalorpg.com/post/109217/thread(( BGM START!)) Theron sneered at the former Veilas assassin, especially at the word "Traitor". "Watch your tongue, Chain Devil." Theron said, tugging his greatsword from the chain. "Or I shall cut it out." Theron spoke with utter hatred in his gruff, gravelly voice. Mustering as much strength as he could, he yanked his greatsword free of the chain with a mighty heave, unfurling it from his weapon and sending it flying to the side. Unfazed, the assassin merely pulled it back to himself. The axe blade flew into the grip of his awaiting gauntlet before he withdrew his arm under his poncho to conceal it. " It has been long since I last spilled Arkaus blood..." the killer murmured, bending his knees slightly, preparing to strike. "Consider the longevity eternal, as you'll be drowning in a sea of your own soon." Theron growled, holding the sword with both hands and getting into a defensive position, waiting for the first strike. " We shall see," hissed the assassin. He whirled around to add momentum to his strike, spinning to his knees as he did so. From his lowered position he flung out the chain once more, the bladed end streaking for Theron's legs! Theron swatted aside the chainblade with a swing of his greatsword, the flat of the blade deflecting the blow. Using his new opening, Theron lifted his sword and charged forward, bringing the blade slashing down as he closed the gap. "Gwahh!" Theron's blade slashed through the navy blue poncho and came out bloodied. The killer from Velias recoiled from the blow, staggering closer to the unguarded edge of the bridge. Recovering quickly, he whipped his blade-tipped chain around behind him with a hard sideways pull. It passed across his back and he seized the chain with his left hand, which was encased in a metal gauntlet just as his right was. He used the shortened length of chain to swipe out at Theron with a rapid figure-eight motion. Theron sidestepped as the chainblade wriggled past him, however he was caught unprepared as it reversed back and slashed him in a fly-by. Theron grunted in pain, but held his tongue. He would not give his enemy the satisfaction of hearing his screams. Theron readied himself once more, greatsword gripped strongly in front of him. This time however, he looked keenly at the assassin, his eyes searching for some sort of weakness or vulnerability that he could exploit. He noticed that his enemy wore metal armor on his arms, legs, and face, but through the cut he made in the poncho he glimpsed no such protection, indicating that perhaps the assassin relied more on mobility than armor to defend himself. However, the cloaked cultist quickly took advantage of the pause in Theron’s assault. He made a quick hop, passing the length of chain that was behind his back under his feet. When he landed, he was now holding the chain in front of him like a garrote. He rushed a few steps forward and then, rather than attacking, the assailant from Velias took Theron by surprise by jumping once again! This one was an explosive, powerful leap. The dark blue poncho fluttered as the assassin disappeared into the air over Theron’s head! He nimbly twisted midair, spiraling around so that when he landed behind Theron, the assassin was facing his back! Before he could react, Theron could feel the chain get looped around his neck from behind! Theron coughed and struggled as he felt the chain wrap around his neck. He desperately attempted to free himself, somehow managing to pull the chain over his head as he escaped the grapple. He quickly snatched up his fallen greatsword, which had been dropped in the struggle, and turned to face the assassin. But as he turned around, he suddenly found the assassin's boot being forcefully planted into his chest! The grizzled soldier was knocked backward by the kick. Theron grunted as he slid closer to the very edge of the bridge! He quickly got up, noticing that his foe was rushing him. With hardly any time to think, Theron quickly moved to his right in a crescent motion, trying to circle around the assassin while putting distance between him and the edge. As he got to a 90 degree point from his original position, he held his blade in a defensive position. As long as I keep away from the edge, I'll be fine.. Theron thought, keenly aware of the perilous drop directly on his left side. As the masked man closed the gap with Theron, he made a running jump and threw out a punch. The axe blade gripped in his gantlet scraped against the flat of Theron's upraised greatsword while the champion sidestepped. The assassin whirled with the momentum of his deflected blow. Now the two combatants were face-to-face once again. Directly beside them was that dizzying four hundred foot drop to the Dessarin River below. A gust of wind picked up, and a flock of white birds flew below their feet as the cool river air whistled in their ears. Continuing his assault, the assassin leapt backwards, creating a bit of space. As he did so, he released his grip on the axe blade. It clattered to the bridge, followed by the coil of chain. When his feet touched down, he immediately twisted his entire body, flinging out the chainblade. Theron ducked as it flew in an arc overhead, almost slicing his face. As the chain circled once and was brought down, Theron sidestepped out of the way, letting the chainblade slash into the ground on his left. Using the new opening, Theron decided to forsake defense for offense. He bolted towards the assassin in a sprint. Knowing this attack would require all of his strength to succeed, Theron bellowed a great warcry and tried to muster the rest of his strength. As he brought his sword to bear and closed the gap, he made a stabbing motion at the assassin's chest! The point of Theron's blade sunk into the assassin's torso. His enemy gasped in pain, momentarily stunned by the devastating strike. Theron drove the greatsword deeper into his opponents torso, running the assassin through with the blade. He then quickly yanked it out, lifted the sword to the sky, and brought it slashing down in a diagonally left arc. The wounded assassin could not stand against such a furious strike. Hardly able to stand after Theron pulled the blade out, all he could do was watch as the final blow descended upon him. Blood flew through the air as the blade ripped through him with such force that he was knocked to Theron’s left. He likely would have collapsed heavily to the ground… except there was no ground where he fell. Tumbling off the side of the Stone Bridge, the Velias assassin kept eye contact with Theron right up until the very moment he dropped out of sight. CHAPTER 1 – WELCOME TO THE DESSARIN VALLEY PLAYER(S): BetaWülf , Faclan , Seraph , Zenith , Remnant , Huka RECAP!A group of travelers consisting of a disgraced officer, a runaway knightess, a half-orc shaman, a disguised bugbear, a virtuous dwarf, and a singing and dancing mouse were hitching a ride with a wagon caravan across the Dessarin Valley’s marvelous Stone Bridge on the way to the town of Red Lark. Along the bridge their caravan was accosted by a group of men with foul intentions. Led by the arrogant Justran and backed up by the mysterious and deadly Kyton, these well-organized bandits in navy-blue garb demanded the travelers to assemble out in the open. As they did so, Ruutok used a spell to help conceal himself and prepare to counterattack if things got ugly for his allies. Once everyone had gathered, Gonff used his bardic abilities in attempt to dissuade the bandits from violence with an eloquent speech. His efforts proved successful, as open hostilities were avoided for the moment. The bandits identified themselves as “the Cult of the Crushing Wave”, and proceeded to interrogate the travelers about information regarding something they called “the delegation”. Only one person spoke up, a stranger named Hawthorne who claimed to be some kind of agent of Mirabar, a republic of kingdoms that had apparently dispatched a relief delegation to the impoverished and war-ravaged land of Arkaus. Then, after having a private word with him that only Theron was able to overhear, Justran admitted to have orders to kill Hawthorne, but instead opted to take him prisoner instead due to Gonff’s influence. They captured Hawthorne and then hijacked the travelers’ wagons. But before they could leave, chaos erupted as Gonff’s calming effect on ragefull Alder subsided and the barbarian led the charge to fight back! Alder clobbered one of the Crushing Wave bandits with his Morningstar, took a cut from another’s sharktooth longsword, and avoided some crossbow shots before continuing his furious rampage. Meanwhile Alder’s Owlbear mount easily dispatched one of the bandit archers with a fearsome claw swipe. Ruutok emerged from hiding to ambush Justran with a thorn whip spell, but while bound the Crushing Wave leader cut the leg of a nearby oxen, startling the animal into running wild with its wagon still in tow, barraling directly at where the travelers had gathered on the bridge! Afterword, Ruutok continued to fight with Justran. General positioning at start of combat Almost everyone dodged out of the way, but Theron as well as the caravan driver and one of his sons got run over by the runaway wagon. Lorban the dwarf immediately tended to the injured and prevented the old man Doran from dying. Theron, a tough and grizzled veteran, shrugged off getting run over and was more concerned about any ill-intent towards his native Kingdom of Arkaus. He challenged Justran about it, but was interrupted by Kyton, a former assassin from Velias, the empire that conquered Arkaus. The two rivals engaged in an epic drawn-out duel that ended with a grievously-wounded Kyton getting knocked off the edge of the 400 ft high bridge. Gonff attempted to use the crossbow of a fallen bandit, although the distinctly-decorated weapon proved much too large to efficiently wield. He got the hijacker’s attention with his horribly inaccurate shot though, and in retaliation one of them sent a crossbow bolt into his arm. Struggling through the injury, the little mousefolk managed to cut Alder’s Owlbear free from the wagon it was tied to and then clumsily clambered inside to retrieve his own crossbow and fire back. Morgana was offered the opportunity to join forces with the bandits, but when the battle started she took up arms against them. She brandished the sword she kept hidden in her bedroll and used it to slay the bandit that shot Gonff. Due to the fighting happening on and around the hijacked wagon, the unattended oxen began to move… General positioning right now Alder attack:Because he only has 1 HP left and you get Advantage for attacking while he’s prone, I’ll just let you finish Bandit 3, Beta. You get to describe your kill.
Also, your Bardic inspiration lasts 10 minutes after being cast, so it will be saved for your next turn like you wanted. All the downed bandit could do is let out a short-lived scream as the enraged bugbear lunged at him to deliver a savage coup de grace while the wagon beside him began to pull away. Gonff attack:The modifier for attack rolls with a ranged weapon is DEX + proficiency bonus. Your DEX is 3, and your proficiency bonus is 2. So that’s where the +5 comes from. Also, your DEX modifier gets added to your damage roll, (because being able to aim at weak spots makes you more lethal is what I assume the reasoning for that is), so on your character sheet it would be helpful if you edit your Light Crossbow damage to “1d8+3 P”, please.
Gonff crossbow attack: (1d20+5) (8) [13] – HIT! Piercing damage: (1d8+3) (8) [11] – KILL! You may describe the kill in your next post.
A bolt shot out from the back of Doran’s wagon, whistled past Morgana’s shoulder, and hit the remaining Crushing Wave bandit in the driver’s seat, killing him as the oxen pulling the wagon began to move forward on their own. They trotted along at a medium speed. Not as fast as the runaway wagon from earlier, but not a controlled walking pace either. Morgana dexterity check (to balance on the yoke of the wagon as it moves): (1d20+4) (5) [9] – FAIL!Alder’s Owlbear shuffled out of the way as Deran’s wagon passed by. With the two bandits in the driver’s seat now dead, Morgana was the only one left on it as she continued to maintain her footing on the yoke between the oxen for a short moment, but she ultimately lost her balance and had to hop off involuntarily. But hey, could have been worse. ((Morgana’s position on the map above is where she was just before she fell off)) Ruutok Shillelegh staff attack: (1d20+5) (10) [15] – HIT!Bludgoning damage: (1d8+3) (5) [8]After throwing Hawthorne’s sword at Ruutok and missing, Justran sighed and rolled his eyes at his own screw-up. Then he really started to get frustrated when the shaman smacked him with that staff once again, catching him under the chin with an upstroke that cracked loudly against his jaw and caused his head to whip backward. Yet even after two fierce blows now that clearly hurt him, he somehow managed to maintain his cocky, apathetic attitude. “OW!” he cried out, “Knock that OFF already! Damn!” Noticing the wagon racing towards them with a quick shift of his eyes, he made the snap decision to break engagement with Ruutock and bail. Ducking low, he nimbly spun around Ruutock and hopped backwards, his backside perching on the edge of the wagon’s seat just as it passed by. He let out a kick as he did so, attempting to push Ruutok away. Opposed strength checks! Justran: (1d20+3) (6) [9]Ruutok: (1d20+1) (7) [8]Ruutok could feel Justran’s boot slam into him, knocking him into the side of Doran’s wagon. Near the half-orc, the final remaining bandit kept his chokehold on Hawthorne while turning his head to watch the passing wagon. Above the blue cloth tied over the lower half of his face like a mask, the bandit’s eyes widened as if to wordlessly beseech his leader, ‘Wait, Justran, what about me?!’ SUMMARY:Alder finishes bandit 3 Gonff shoots bandit 5 Morgana falls off Deran’s wagon Ruutok attacks Justran Justran move action and shove action

Chapter One Alder Spinebreker: Bugbear Barbarian PreyAlder drank deeply from the scream of his enemy, however short it was, as his weapon found its way to his foe's chest. There was a cacophony of sharp snaps, drowned out rending flesh as it was pierced and pulped. His hands and feet were quite bloody, and his fur lightly matted by it in places, but for the most part it was a thin spray of droplets that covered his body. He ripped his Morningstar free from the crushed chest, letting out a simian bellow. The noise was piercing and harsh, somewhere between a humanoid scream and an ursine's roar, raging forth from curled back lips revealing wet fangs protruding from mottled purple gums. His attention however turned to the wagon moving to flee, the Bugbear's ears flattening back and his eyes flaring wide. Snarling, teeth bared, Alder took off running Summary: Alder dispatches the Bandit he was fighting, and attempts to board the fleeing wagon.

(Edited the damage, I assume the dagger would be the same +3 (just 1d4) but if not just lemme know and I'll change it.) Chapter 1 Gonff, Mousefolk Bard - on the big ol Stone Bridge Squeaks and buffs 12/19 HP Glaring at the bandit in grim satisfaction as his tiny bolt was now stuck in the humans right eye - even a small injury can be fatal when applied to the right spot, and his crossbow sure was a small one for the bigger Human. With what looked like all the bandits dead Gonff took a moment to load another bolt into his weapon and look around the bridge. It seemed like his group had honestly won. There seemed to be only one bandit and their leader left. But his ears wriggled at the loud roar of the bugbear as he seemed to give chase after their leader. He could help that that. So first he set the crossbow aside, tipping it over with a little shake to make the bolt fall out in case it accidently discharged and tried to pull out his flute. It was still a bit fumbly because of his arm injuries but he finally got it out before calling out to the bandit who was left by his boss. "Give up you brigand! You are surrounded!" The Mousefolk squeaked out before turning his attention to the charging Bugbear. It was likely super intimidating to have that shouted but the many still alive fighters probably brought the point home for the Bandit. But focusing on Alder Gonff started to play an upbeat flute song to inspire the Barbarian to new heights. He just had to hope that the Bugbear didn't kill the leader as the group likely had questions to ask him and his remaining friend. Especially the one they were after who seemed to know about them and what was going on. Summary: Shouted at the last remaining bandit to give up, set crossbow aside in the Wagon, buffing Alder with Bardic Inspiration (1d6 bonus to one roll(dunno if its the next roll or if BetaW can pick the roll he wants to use it on)).

CHAPTER 1 - WELCOME TO THE DESSARIN VALLEY Theron Helius, Human Champion Pain TrainTheron turned his back to the bridge's edge as the Veilas assassin dropped out of sight. He smiled with much satisfaction, now that he proved himself a formidable fighter. However, he refocused on the battle before him. Most of the bandits had been slain, so he searched around for Justran. Theron quickly caught sight of him, but just as quickly Justran hopped on a fleeing wagon. Attempting to move swiftly, Theron sprinted for the wagon. He had used most of his strength in the battle with the assassin, but he tried to muster what was left to intercept Justran. He legs burned from his calves to his thighs, but he pressed forward regardless. He wasn't going to let Justran escape. He still needed answers. With a great leap, Theron lunged towards the wagon in an attempt to close the gap and climb aboard. However, the distance wasn't exactly small, and Theron wasn't sure he could make it. All he could do now was hold faith and brace himself. Summary: Turns away from the bridge's edge as Kyton disappears, feels a little satisfied, starts searching for Justran, and charges the fleeing wagon in an attempt to intercept and hop aboard.

CHAPTER 2 – HOMEWARD BOUND PLAYER(S): Seraph , LaxKnight , edtosivaree RECAP!Shy elf girl Meri discovered a lost dragonborn warrior named Nivara and her kirin mount Brimstone. They agreed to track down Meri’s missing pet mouse and set off to the urchin’s “hometown” of Red Lark. On the way there, the unlikely duo encountered a strange, unnatural fog that prompted a wary Nivara to steer them off-road. They eventually stumbled upon the residence of another dragonborn, the reclusive Kardesh and his little daughter Elloai.
Not long after a brief confrontation, they came under attack by some kind of large winged monster emboldened by the fog’s concealment, and quickly teamed up to fight off the creature… Attack Results: Kardesh Catapult-ed tail-spike: Creature dexterity saving throw: (1d20+3) (3) [6] – FAIL! Piercing Damage: (3d8+6) (4) (6) (2) [18]
This attack was the last thing posted for Chapter 2 before our break, but I clearly remember reading it and finding myself so very impressed by the ingenuity of using your spell to shoot the monster’s spike right back at it! For your badassery, I’m awarding you with INSPIRATION! Expend it by mentioning so in your summary to receive automatic Advantage on any attack roll, saving throw, or skill check anytime in the future.
Meri shortbow attack (Advantage): (1d20+5) (5) (18) [23] – HIT! SNEAK ATTACK! Piercing Damage: (3d6+3) (4) (3) (2) [12]
Appreciate the reminders as always, Lax. Plus I love how you post anyway even though I hadn’t done a recap post for your session yet! Also, wow, Advantage totally just saved your entire attack! Seized by the dragonborn Bladesinger’s magic, the tail spike recently flung by the hideous beast was ripped from the wall and sent streaking through the air right back at it! The spike shot directly into the creature’s left eye with a squishy sound similar to that of someone stabbing a piece of fruit, and it released a gut-wrenching high-pitched wail of agony. It was still busy screaming when, half a moment later, another arrow came whistling out of the fog courtesy of Meri. The projectile accurately impaled itself into the creature’s flank near her first shot, no doubt adding to the monster’s misery as this time it flinched violently upon impact. By now, this predator has had its head bashed by a rock, burned, cut, stuck with arrows, and stabbed in the eye. Finally, it had enough. Abandoning Kardesh, it urgently retreated opposite the direction the arrows were coming from. With a hard beat of its batlike wings, it began to rise back up into the foggy sky. SUMMARY:The monster is badly hurt and disengages.

CHAPTER 1 – WELCOME TO THE DESSARIN VALLEY PLAYER(S): BetaWülf , Faclan , Seraph , Zenith , Remnant , Huka Unnerved by all the commotion, the oxen pulling Deran’s wagon (including Morgana’s, Theron’s, and Lorban’s stuff stored within) had been moving at a little over a walking pace as they wandered off. Now that Justran hopped aboard the driver’s seat however, he shoved aside the body of one of the slain bandits and seized the reigns. With an urgent yell, he snapped the reins hard to spur the beasts of burden to hurry up. Athletics Checks (to board the escaping wagon): Alder: (1d20+5) (5) [10] Bardic Inspiration: (1d6) [5] Total: 15
((Bardic Inspiration expended))
Theron: (1d20+3) (11) [14] As the wagon began to pick up speed, two figures dashed after it on foot. Theron began his sprint closer to the wagon, thus gaining a good head start. Alder gave chase from further back, but drawing upon the magical boost provided to him by Gonff earlier he ran like the wind. As the two of them hurried past, Gonff uttered a quick warning to the final remaining bandit before quickly getting out his flute. Focusing on Alder’s retreating form, a quick spellbound tune reinvigorated the barbarian for the final confrontation. ((Alder gains Bardic Inspiration again.)) “Grr… Damn you Justran…” growled the bandit, realizing he had been abandoned. He squeezed his arm into Hawthorne’s throat even tighter now, causing the man to wheeze for air. He appeared to be having a difficult time trying to wrestle free. The bandit shuffled backwards with his hostage, keeping Hawthrone between him and everyone else. Very quickly, while maintaining his chokehold with one hand the bandit snatched a dagger from his belt using the other hand. He held the point of the short metal blade under Hawthrone’s chin. “At least I can still finish our mission…” he hissed into Hawthrone’s ear. ((URGENT! ACTION REQUIRED WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THIS POST OR HAWTHORNE DIES!))MAP UPDATED! BGM START! FINAL BOSS!Reminder: Keep music playing while reading for added effect. The music lasts through all future posts until I post BGM END. If the video ends before then (and it will, because it’s short), just restart it.
Meanwhile, Alder and Theron furiously gave chase to the escaping wagon. From the driver’s seat Justran was snapping the reigns like mad. The wagon had gained enough momentum that it was just barely beginning to pull beyond the pursuerss reach, but with one final effort the heroes managed to grab on! SUMMARY:Gonff buffs Alder again Bandit 1 moves away and prepares to execute Hawthorne Theron and Alder manage to jump onto the wagon

Chapter 1- Welcome to the Dessarian Valley Ruutok, Half-Orc DruidFaster than the old shaman could anticipate the kick came swiftly as it hit him square. Though it did not hurt so much as it was meant to stun which caused Ruutok stumbled backward, grunting and clutching chest, he rocked on his heels before finding balance again. The half-orc cursed when he saw the oxen driven cart pulling away with one Justram planted in the driver's seat. The fox of a man, though boisterous, was a sensible one attempting to make a quick getaway on younger Deran's wagon. The shaman was of the mind to go after the cultists leader. But as the wagon continued to pull away two shapes flew past him out of corner of his eye. It was the wild-eyed Bugbear and one of the other men of the caravan, weapons in hand as they took off after Justram. Ruutok would have difficulty chasing the brigand at the rate the cart began picking up speed which, made him turn his attention to the next closest situation that faced the fighters. There was only Hawthorne to worry about and the cultist that held him captive. But it seemed the man was now getting desperate with no other place to go as they held a dagger to the prisoners throat. The shaman had to be quick if he was to stop him from delivering the death stroke! Taking his staff Ruutok moved forward to close the distance between them. Once he came within range the shaman called upon his magic once again and a writhing vine came lashing out from the head of the staff. The vine flew toward the pair of men, aimed for the bandit's knife hand. If Ruutok could just reach and disarm the brigand or somehow pull him away from his prisoner then it would be step step closer from closing this confrontation once and for all! (Summarry: Ruutok turns his attention to the bandit holding Hawthorne hostage. Moving forward close enough he casts Thorn Whip in an attempt to ensnare the bandit and separate the two men or grab for the dagger.)

Chapter One Alder Spinebreker: Bugbear Barbarian Run Run As Fast As You CanAlder ran as fast as his legs could carry him, further behind Theron but soon catching up to him with determined swiftness. As an enchanted melody invaded his ears, Alder found himself moving faster and faster; just barely passing Theron as the two came up to the rear of the wagon. Alder hurled himself upwards and onwards, his prehensile toes grabbing the tailgate of the wagon as his long arms reached forward to dig into and grip the floorboards of the Wagon. He pulled himself up against the forward momentum of the wagon's departure, but as he looked to see Theron joining him, he saw past the Warrior that Hawthorne was in the clutches of the lone remaining bandit. Reaching to his back, Alder pulled up one of his Javelins and steadied himself. He put his left foot forward, his left hand extended straight ahead of himself with his claw aimed directly at the bandit's face. He pulled his right arm back, balancing the Javelin as steadily as possible before closing his left eye. With one powerful motion Alder put all of his body weight into his throw, leaning into it with as much force as possible with a beastly grunt. As the Javelin rocketed forward, he prayed to his Gods for their blessing, hoping he wouldn't seriously injure Hawthorne. But now he needed to return his attention to Justran, hopefully Theron was moving to soften the prey while Alder had been hoping to slay the Bandit. Summary: Alder catches up to the Wagon alongside Theron. Looking back, Alder sees Hawthorne's predicament and attempts to throw a Javelin at the Bandits head(in the event that this is not possible, Alder would instead attempt to beat Justran with his Great Club. Whichever one happens I would like to apply the Bardic Inspiration to it, and will edit my post if necessary to reflect the events as they'll have actually played out).

CHAPTER 1 – WELCOME TO THE DESSARIN VALLEY PLAYER(S): BetaWülf , Faclan , Seraph , Zenith , Remnant , Huka OOC STUFFIt would be a tricky shot Beta, but sure, you can try.
Also, your character sheet has +5 attack with your javelins, but unless I’m just not seeing something I’m pretty sure that should be +3. (+1 Dex, plus +2 proficiency bonus). So that’s what I’ll use.
Alder javelin attack: (1d20+3) (11) [14] Bardic Inspiration: (1d6) [5] Attack Total: 19 – HIT! Piercing damage: (1d6+1) (6) [7]
Just barely made it! That bardic inspiration was a lifesaver!
Ruutok Thorn Whip attack: (1d20+5) (19) [24] – HIT! Piercing Damage: (1d6+5) [8] – KILL!
Really good rolls, well done! You guys really came through in the clutch! His aim was true. Despite the moving vehicle and the rapidly expanding distance, the confidence and force of will supplied once again by Gonff’s magically-infused music allowed Alder to perform above and beyond his normal capabilities. He let fly his javelin which rocketed through the morning sunlight, and after a few tense moments finally arrived on-target. The javelin impaled the bandit in the upper back, causing him to scream in both pain and surprise, pausing for just long enough for Ruutok to make his move. The thorny vine lashed out from the shaman’s staff, seizing the desperate bandit’s knife hand at the last second, preventing him from sinking the blade into Hawthrone’s throat. “NOOO!!!” the bandit shouted. Then as he was forcefully pulled away Hawthorne ducked low, causing the bandit to flip over his back, get dragged ten feet through the air, and crash in a sprawling heap onto the bridge. The dagger he held went skittering across the stone. Upon landing, the tip of the javelin jutted forth out the front of the bandit’s chest. He gave one last agonized gasp, and then went limp. SUMMARY:Hawthrone is saved through the combined efforts of Alder and Ruutok

Chapter 2 - Home Coming Kardesh Saiyavek, Dragonborn Wizard
As the cry of the beast split the air in the glade it seemed as if all other sounds were drowned out. With the winged menace's withdrawal an uneasy silence seemed to replace the fast fading beats of wings in the distance. Kardesh yet stood on his feet watching as the the creature flew away, the bloody marks of his torn shoulder quickly dampened the padding of his robes. The solemn chant which he had employed during the battle died away as well. After several moments of stillness the Dragonborn seemed to buckle, face twisting slightly with pain and he fell to one knee breathing heavily through his mouth. The wizard did not seem so concerned now for the presence of Meri or Nivara as either hovered nearby. Seemingly being more concerned with the wound the elder Dragonborn settled himself down to wordlessly nurse his wound whilst it still freely bled. "You would do well to leave in case the creature decides to return. Or something worse arrives..." Kardesh broke the silence suddenly and spoke flatly. He did not offer any thanks for the assistance of the two travelers. instead he only sat there trying to tend to himself. A hard look of discomfort clear on his face as the wizard worked at his shoulder with one hand. Yet a glassy stare into the distance only made it seem like as if he wer ein contemplation of something as he worked to stifle the bleeding. (Summary: In the moments following the attack Kardesh does little more than settle down to rest and gather himself as he begins to manage the pain and bleeding of his wound. Warning the companions they should move if the creature were to decide to return.)

Chapter 1 Gonff, Mousefolk Bard - on the big ol Stone Bridge Important work >.> . 12/19 HP Gonff, and most of the still living people, watched in a mix of awe and terror as the Bugbear leant backwards from the charging cart he was precariously perched on and THEN threw the javelin. Soaring with incredible accuracy right into the bandit and missing Hawthorne entirely. Gonff would have been more shocked about that if he was't beaming with pride. "I helped him do that!" He squeaked out happily before scanning around the former battlefield. It now really seemed like they had won and Hawthorn was still alive. Doran and the other injured were still being looked over by the Cleric and hopefully they will be fine...Hopefully so so Gonff could get the bolt out of his arm eventually. Unreadying his small crossbow Gonff clambered out of the wagon and tried to ingnore the large pain in his shot arm as he rubbed his paws together and started to walk around the former Battlefield on the bridge. He was soon carrying or dragging the fancy crossbows and weapons the Bandits had over to the Wagon they still had for loading later. They would fetch a fine price in Red Lark when they arrived. I mean, everyone else was either healing or being looked at or fighting Justran - they were out of range for him to help now and he would just get in the way of the healing....yeah. Gonff trying to be quick about the looting so they could get back on the road soon, not looking at the Druid as he worked as he had the feeling the Half Orc wouldn't approve of his priorities.

Meri, Wood Elf Rogue CHAPTER 2 - Homeward Bound
One of the creatures own tail spikes impaled it in the eye through some sort of magic but it didn't distract Meri as she lined up her shot and fired. She gave a rare smile of pride as she saw the shot land near her first one. The beast wailed in pain and finally let go of the Dragonborn. Deciding it had enough, it ran back into the fog. Meri remained in place in case it came back but relaxed a bit when she could no longer hear it. There was no movement for a moment as they braced for something worse but the silence was broken when Kardesh's pain finally caught up to him. Meri slung her bow and went over to the red Dragonborn. He spoke, telling them it would be best to leave before something else does come. Meri looked to him then her companion Nivara. Both were injured pretty badly from the bites they received from the monster. It seemed unwise to venture out blindly into the fog if more of those creatures were out there. The three of them managed to take on one but suffered. She didn't want to think of the results if they split up. "Uh...sir?" she said tentatively, unsure what to call him since Kardesh seemed too informal, "Do you mind if we stay instead? My friend was hurt pretty badly and if there are more of those things out there I'm not sure if we can handle them. At least until the fog lifts?"Summary: Waits for the monster to leave, goes to assist Kardesh, suggests they stay in his cabin until the fog lifts.
