Faction & Division: Covenant
Rank:N/A (Highest rank is an Ultra, the leader of the swarm.)
Name:Swarm SAK-201 The Righteous Descenders
Race: Yanme'e
Age: 10 cycles
Height: Average heights: 6'4"
Weight: Average weight: 170 pounds
Appearance:
The Ultra has white armor, and yellow semi-phosphorescent eyes. It has a grayer exoskeleton than usual for some odd birth defect reason. All swarm members are mostly soldiers, so they are very combat efficient for combat missions, and for aiding in taking over an area due to their large berth.
.
Strengths:
The Swarm is 20 Yanme'e strong, so it has more firepower.
Better communication and order is bestowed by the Ultra, causing more tactical moves.
Being most Soldiers helps get combat done quicker, and cause less stress on other species of soldiers.
Weaknesses:
Due to it's larger size, the Swarm can be targeted more easily
The Swarm can be discriminated against by higher ranking Sangheili, causing some disruption
Few Engineers can cause issues, as they can't help fix vehicles faster than a full engineer Swarm
Biography: Swarm SAK-201 began on the world of AK-Ascension, a colony planet, where about four hives were inhabited by about four queens. The great Covenant has given them many great technology, and weapons many years ago. The swarm was first created when the Ultra, passed all of his tests, and was destined to be a great leader for his Swarm by one queen. It then proceeded to get assigned to other Major and Minor Yanme'e, and overtime, they became a great swarm of 20 Yanme'e soldiers.
On it's first battle, the Swarm was slower than the other Swarms, noticeably by five minutes. This is very long considering that battles can be really short, but can last up to several weeks. The Sangheili monitoring their progress had decided that they need some utility, so took some Soldiers out, and added Engineers. This only helped a little, as few Engineers could help make vehicles and weapons work faster. The Sangheili finally decided to only send it on major campaigns, but this enraged the Swarm, as they wanted even more action, and he expressed his feelings through their interpreter, Sali' Rudamee. The Sangheili, after being bugged (quite literally), for some weeks, finally gave in.
He allowed them to go also on Small campaigns, as well as being able to go to other battles if they needed desperate reinforcements or help. The soldiers who needed the Swarm saw them as mighty helpers, except most Sangheili at first. This was due to skeptism about mere bugs saving them from death. However when the others saw them descending from the sky, and cheered and blasted away the human scum that was overpowering them by numbers only. The Swarm started getting a good reputation, and the Swarm felt proud.
Soon, the Swarm's named changed to it's actual name from just numbers on a Data log. "The Righteous Descenders," chosen from the Covenant's boosted morale when the Swarm charged from the Skies, helping the Covenant Sangheili, and all other species purify the dirty ground walker "humans." After several more campaigns, the swarm had become more experienced in almost any type of battle except the rare occasions when it has to do close quarter. It is also still trying to cope with having to have an Interpreter with them during battle, and slows down their organization. Sali' noticed this and tries to keep up with the Swarm.
NPCs:
Sangheili Interpreter Sali' Rudamee
Sali' is usually biased towards his own race, but is sympathetic towards the Swarm sometimes depending on how good of a mood he is in.
RP Sample:
"The heretics have been a Demon in our side for what seems the past millennium! They have slowly gained our Covenant military bases and their smaller forces are currently residing in one of our stronger alcoves on a desert planet! Help the Covenant purge these wretched souls faster by taking them out silently! Banshees will be waiting on the side to provide backup if cover is broken and the Swarm needs support! Field Marshal out." These words were the things still beating through the Swarm, and they started having excitement at the thought of battle. Readying their weapons, they flew out of the Drop Ship with great vigor, anti-gravity generators on their backs, and knowing what their mission was.
Slowly approaching low in the air, the Swarm spotted the base on one of the great dunes of the planet. The Ultra made a whistling noise of some sort, signaling to everyone to be cautious and alert. Approaching even further, the whole Swarm could see abandoned anti-air plasma cannons, as well as a few Shade placements throughout the front. Most likely these were abandoned due to the Heretics not meeting the man-power to post at these while having troops inside of the base. The Ultra and the rest of the swarm checked their weapons on sync, due to the great hive mind link they have together. Once the Ultra sensed all of them were ready, It continued onwards, while the great flapping of wings followed him ready for battle.
After reaching the front door, the Swarm oddly found it open, and with the opening came a great sliding noise. The Swarm sensed that something wasn't right, and their assumption proved to be validated as about ten of the masters' of their race, the Sangheili rushed out and opened fire. Along with them were five of the lower species that the Yanme'e learned about when first introduced to the Covenant long ago (Unggoy). The Swarm, already tense from this were ready and started flying around and returning fire. Among the flying purple needles and balls of energy, the Ultra stood It's ground while dodging the projectiles with what seemed to be a gracefulness if It wasn't in battle. The Ultra started feeling like It was loosing parts of Itself as some Yanme'e started falling around It. The Ultra with renewed vigor started firing back even more, and the shouts of the Unggoy and Sangheili became aroused by the other Swarm members' fire.
After what seemed to be a long battle, the last seemingly superior Sangheili fell, and with him fell the heavy weapon that the Ultra's species cannot hold (Carbine). After a short period of time of the Swarm cheering in a sharp chord, they started whimpering in a soft tone to mourn their fellow Yanme'e soldiers who were brave. The Swarm were doing this during battle as they used the logic that the enemy already knew that they were there, so they screamed to maybe cause mischief throughout the Heretic ranks. Seeing an old air ventilator that some of them could fit in, the Ultra told some of his soldiers through thought of the Hive mind to go in and scout out and maybe assassinate some of the Heretic soldiers. The Yanme'e soldiers chosen through a single second of mind process climbed into the vents, and made progress as heard by muffled thumping sounds.
The soldiers approached an opening and one of them peered through, inside of the room were about six Unggoy standing ready at the door and not paying attention to the vents behind them. Once the part of the Swarm chosen were in position, the Ultra viewing all of this from senses of the other Yanme'e, ordered them to charge and rip them apart. The part of the Swarm complied and rushed forward with good speed and attacked the poor Unggoy with the Swarm's abstracts. After some minutes, the Unggoys' bodily fluids and parts were scattered across the room, with the threat gone of being able to cross a hallway, the section of the Swarm returned triumphant. While these things were happening, the few engineers were fixing some of the anti-grav generators on the Yanme'e who got them broken during battle.
Based on the short briefing they had before the mission, as they were just Yanme'e, there should only be a few Sangheili left throughout the building. The reason for these low troop numbers were that the Heretics were putting all of their troops near the front line bases where they think they will most likely be attacked from. The Ultra then started advancing, and the rest of the swarm followed. After checking room after room followed by disappointment, the Yanme'e found a room where about four Sangheili jumped after seeing the Yanme'e spot them. The superior foes fought valiantly, but couldn't face a more mobile enemy than them. The Ultra fired It's needler, whipping back and forth while doing so. The Swarm concentrated fire on each single target, taking out the shields of the Majors' with almost an ease. After the last Sangheili died fighting while dropping his weapon, the Ultra noticed his casualties were better this time, although about 4 Yanme'e were wounded.
After checking the rest of the now completely abandoned base, the Swarm contacted their Interpreter, who belayed messages to the Field Master that ordered them on this mission. The Ultra told Sali' how the base was now clear, and that the Legion could move in and start rebooting the power systems. "Great work honorable Yanme'e! You prove your reputation yet again through battle. Come back to the Banshee and we will begin debriefing, restocking, and getting ready for the next vital mission." The Field Master shouted on the comms in triumph. The Ultra uttered a tiny bit of disgust, well hidden, as It believed the Field Master had too much Enthusiasm. Flying towards the Banshee in the distance with weariness, along with the rest of the Swarm they were happy to have a little bit of rest.
