(If you wish to join you are welcome to , just be sure you make a profile first in the character creation thead so we can make sure it's a good individual.) Ketss - Asuran Professor Rata Sum. Finishing a class and making preparations. While he loved to teach, that much was never in doubt, there were times when he wished that the class he was teaching would just hurry up and end. He was much like his younger students in that way. Despite how much they enjoyed the class all of them would occasionally look at the clock to check on the time left before they could leave. Either leave to work, train, work on their own experiments, or talk with their friends of either sex. But for Ketss he was waiting for his class to be over so he could prepare to head out of Rata Sum once more. "As you can see in this diagram," Ketss said as he pointed up at a projected image of several equations and some swirling mass under it. "There have been many attempts to quantify the Arcane energies in all living things, and in the power crystals of our Golems. And despite many of the best minds of our race pouring over it for years its still a large mystery. Take that as a challenge if you will to try and crack the code yourself. But suffice it to say that it is definatly there." Taking a deep breath Ket closed his eyes and slowly exhaled as some dark green energy flowed out from between his teeth to float in front of his face before he opened his hand and it started to flow into his palm. "Many of the other species will try to tell you that its not there, or that its some type of other energy, but its Arcane. I also don't suggest you try to do that yourself or you risk just watching several years of your life just," he clenched his fist as the mist finished being absorbed back into his hand. "Float away - also magical tricks like that are something you learn after you are very proficient in your chosen field. But stuff like that seems to keep you Progenies entertained and paying attention." It was pretty clear from the apprentices faces that it was working on this group as they glanced at the clock again and then started to pack up. "And that's the time for today, as I explained before I won't be here tomorrow and Professor Lepoo will be taking my place to continue your understanding of Arcane Forces. Hopefully by the time I get back you all will be ready for some advanced lessons with how to actually tap into that force you've been learning about for some practical lessons." Nodding the Progenies they smiled at Ketss and then filed out of the classroom, Ket tanking a drink from his belt canteen before packing up his materials and heading out toward the Creator's Commons. As to exactly where he would be heading it was still up in the air. He had been asked by the Arcane Council to look into the rapidly growing concern of the Elder Dragons and what type of danger they posed besides their minions. But the specifics were entrusted and left to The Professor to figure out. He had been told yesterday, and had dome some preliminary research to confirm what he had been told on the road before and had narrowed it down to four main locations; either into Ascalon and Charr lands to research Kralkatorrik and the Branded, toward Orr with Zhaitan and the Risen, too the Shiverpeaks for Jormag and the Icebrood...or down with the Skritt and the Dredge to continue the ongoing research into Primordus and the much hated Destroyers - the reason they were up here to begin with. Rolling his shoulders a bit Ket thankfully avoided a stall seller as he headed up the ramps toward the sunlight and the glowing portals that would lead him to many of the locations around Tyria, eventually. Though first he would need to head to Lions Arch. Speaking of heading somewhere, he mused to himself as he squinted a bit as the sunlight was finally seen again, he wondered if the short notice request for assistance he had posted had any takers yet. It was dangerous research that he would be under taking, and some of the help may even know about the possible areas they could go, and extra hands would generally be helpful regardless, even those Bookah Norn...But he had requested that if anyone was interested they were to meet under the Arcane Councils's chambers in the middle of Rata Sum at around this time. He had included a description of what he looked like too so they could recognize him. Just needed to wait now.

Sery Silvers - Asuran Engineer Rata Sum Looking for an adventure! Tag(s): Faclan“Bella! Where’s my Make-N-Shoot? Nothing beyond a wormhole can hold the amount of bullets I need for this adventure!” “You plan on being out that long?” “I don’t plan on it but I need to be prepared for it anyway. You know how things always come up.” “Indeed. Do you at least have an estimate?” A soot haired Asura looked up for a moment, her mouth scrunched a little to the side and put a fist to her chin as she took a moment to think. “Well I plan to be out for awhile. Week minimum though probably longer,” she said with a nod before returning to her packing. She finished up and swung her large pack onto her back. She shifted it so it was sat more comfortably. “Any last questions, comments, concerns, sarcastic remarks, or last words of any sort?” she asked her apprentice. “Have a good trip. Please do come back,” Bella said. The Asuran Engineer stood there with a strange smile, one that said she was touched. “Oooh, thanks. This is why you’re my favorite,” she said before stood a little straighter and said, “Well I’m off. I will be sure to bring something back with me.” She turned and walked out of her lab. She stepped outside and took a breath of fresh air. Her lab was in the middle of a box canyon so no one would get affected by her experiments. She looked over to the other side where another mock up building was under construction which would undoubtedly get blown up again. The thought brought a grin that some would classify as cheery in a slightly crazed way. She headed to the Asuran Gate that she had build by a Static Collegiate who owned her a favor. She stepped through and she was instantly transported to the bustling city of Rata Sum. Sery Silvers set off in no direction in particular. She stepped with lively, almost ginger steps. She has been called cute before with her blue ribbons in her hair done just right but she found her enthusiasm was slightly off putting to the rest of her species who often gave her strange looks or, on rarer instances or more condensed sections, a wide berth while she walked through the city. Something she noticed but never cared for. She enjoyed life and if people were put off by it then she won’t let it stop her. She sometimes went out for specific reasons or objectives but this time she wanted to test some her experiments which she prefered doing in the field plus she simply had the urge to get out and do something. She found that while she was capable of doing it solo, she found that working with a companion or a group was a much more beneficial way to conduct it in every way. It offered many times more chances to learn and many more opportunities for gain new experiences and receive different perspectives on problems on things she wouldn’t have thought of herself. Plus usually such things came with rewards whether it be new friends, experiences, or loot. A much better way to do things. Her feet found their way to under the Arcane Council’s Chambers. She then saw a...interesting looking Asuran who seemed to be looking around as if he were expecting company. She wasn’t sure why but it intrigued her. It looked to her like an opportunity for an adventure, something she wasn’t about to pass up. Sery managed to stand near the Asuran and waited with him for a moment, also looking for anyone else coming, until she turned to him and asked, “You waiting on someone?”

(Join up when you can Seraph, we aint gona leave Rata Sum without you ) Tags: LaxKnightKetss - Asuran Professor Rata Sum. Oh boy...Maybe Ascalon - one of the more dangerous trips to be sure and the Charr weren't known for their kindness or hospitality but everything was surprisingly cheap there. Glancing down at the snack food he had bought from the stall he was standing near he chuckled a little before going back to chewing on it. Could get an entire leg of goat for what he payed for this, and that would last an entire day for an Asura so long as you were good at re-heating it. And you could get weapons or raw material by the box there for the price of one other places. The quality was often just as good too. All those factories and mass production that they loved so much good for something at least as he popped the last piece of the snack into his mouth and glanced down as his computation device. He would have to leave soon if he wanted to make it to one of the main cities by nightfall and continue on from there in the morning. Figure out where he was going when he was in Lions Arch. The fact that time was running out was reinforced when his small hovering Golem putted up to him and did a little spin to let him know that it was fully charged and ready to go on this trip too. Such a fine example of Asuran brilliance that the Golem knew where to find him and had made it all the way up here by itself from the bowels of Rata Sum. But as he was doing some checks of his Golem he noticed that another Asura that had been standing beside him for awhile was still there. The Professor raising an eyebrow as she finally turned to look at him and ask if he was waiting for anyone. It was then that Ketss realized who it was. His wrinkled face dropped momentarily, as well as his raggedy ears, as he stood there staring at Sery for a second before quickly straightening up and nodding. "Yes Miss Silvers, I am. Professor Ketss of Synergetics," he said, holding out his left hand without the computation device on it - lest the dynamasist break it. "The Arcane Council has asked me to go on a field sojourn to investigate the threat of the Elder Dragons and possible ways to combat them." Why he was telling Sery this he was asking himself as his mouth kept going, now she was going to want to come too to set more things on fire...But he needed to say something else so he didn't seem super rude as he took back his hopefully shaken hand and nodded. "How have your endeavors been progressing?"

(Sorry if I step on your toes Seraph) Tags: FaclanSery Silvers - Asura Engineer Rata Sum Found an adventure! The scientist’s dismay of wasn’t lost on Sery. It was sadly a common reaction from those who know who she is. However she chose to see it as a positive sign of how far her reputation has spread. The Asura introduced himself as Professor Ketss of the College of Synergetics and offered her a hand. She went to reach for it with her right but hesitated, realizing that he held out his left, and then shook it with her left instead. He explained that he was given a mission by the Arcane Council to investigate the Elder Dragons and figure out how best to combat them. This was enough for her to let out a slow whistle as she released her hand. This was a pretty big and important adventure indeed with all the havoc they caused, especially with the displaced Norn. However it seemed to Sery that he seemed reluctant to tell her and asked how her endeavors were which seemed more like an afterthought than sincere. She had the feeling that Ketss didn’t want her come however this sounded super important, filled with once in a lifetime opportunities, meet other people, and it sounded pretty fun. It seemed too big to be sheer coincidence. She made up her mind that she wanted to go. She put her hands on her hips and said, “Well good sir, you could actually help me out with my current endeavor. Or more like I can help you out for my current endeavor is to go and help out on someone else’s endeavor. So if you wouldn’t mind I was wondering if I can accompany you on your adventure.” She leaned side to side as she peered around the professor. “It seems like there are some spots open,” she said with a hopeful smile. She really hope this Ketss wasn’t too prideful to turn down a willing companion.

Laela - Freelance Mercenary Rata Sum
The city...
The whole of the hustle and bustle, everything was always moving, never stopping. No matter where you go the streets were packed to the crowds people shuffling along here and there as they go about their business. Packs of pushy, sweaty city folks roving every walkway and plaza seemingly taking up all the space you couldn't even get the breathing room without someone stepping on your tail. Laela never particularly liked crowds for that reason among, other things. But at least it was easier to blend with a crowd when you were trying to lay low and playing it cool. At least it would be just about anywhere else. Rata Sum was perhaps one of few exceptions she could make since barely anybody rose higher than her knee as she loomed over the heads of those the scruffy Charr passed by. A sea big heads and bobbing ears moved around her, denizens of this city seemingly giving little concern of her own presence as they waddled along. The least they most gave her a small birth either because of how imposing she was or perhaps it might have just been the subtle aroma of damp fur and jungle brush.
Either way she wasn't here on a pleasure trip where the Freelancer could think of a hundred other places she'd rather be. Like a pub getting polluted on Firewater. If it were not for the promise of work there would little other reason to stay in his "city", if you could call Rata Sum a city. Laela had been walking around a while now looking for a meeting spot for a client around the lower levels. The place was built more like a temple she felt. It was way to clean, tidy, and angular to what she was used to. Not to mention there sat those creepy golems that sat alongside the walk ways in alcoves just sitting there staring out you as you pass by. First time she had ever seen one Laela brushed right passed it thinking it was just another strange Asuran gizmo. Until she nearly jumped out of her fur when the blasted thing jumped to life, scaring the daylights out of her when it started wailing with a proximity alarm in her ears. Blasted machines...
Organized as the place was, Laela was still lost. Every avenue looked similar to another she had seen before and at this point she must have come around full circle...square...triangle. With an irritable huff shee llooked up the ramp she sttod before heading to what looked like the top floor as she could see open sky. The directions that she got an hour ago during her wanderings never said anything about going up, but it was the last place she could possibly think of looking. Laela began to pad her way up the path soon coming to an open plaza where there was a flurry of activity. But when she looked up she could see the large floating monolithic structure that dominated the sky.
"Well burn my hide..." she mumbled grumpily. This was the exact place where she had started.
Next time I see that little gremlin I'll ring his neck till his head pops off. The Old Man must have told his contact to lead her around the city for giggles just to annoy her. He wasn't above stupid little crud like that.
Anyway...she was here. Now all that mattered was to find her mark and get things underway.

Tags: LaxKnight, SeraphKetss - Asuran Professor Rata Sum. Workers and comrades?Pleased that Sery had actually shaken his hand rather than try to...do something else Ket had a little mental shouting match with himself as Sery replied to all he had said. She was going to for sure want to come now, and doing delicate research would be very difficult with her around. But she would be good if a fight came up, and some help would be better than none? But was it worth the risk of losing the data once he got it? Would it be worth being killed before he got there? Or lost? Frowning a bit at all the internal shouting as he looked slightly past Sery as she talked, probably appearing very rude - which he was being not paying much attention to her, he finally shook his head a bit and then looked at Sery properly. Thankfully he just caught the look she had past him and pointing out that he was indeed alone. "Correct, I had put up some flyers yesterday asking about people who would want to do work - and if you are here about that then you would be allowed to come. But since you weren't aware of that I guess," he hesitated a bit before continuing. "You could come anyway. I'd much prefer some assistance rather than going it alone. Just two of us though will prove challenging, perhaps we could pick up more support in Lions Arch or one of the capitals once we get there." Looking around one last time to see if anyone else was on the way he spotted a female Charr coming up to the middle of the city - hard not too with how much larger she was than the Asura around her. She seemed to be looking around a lot but Ketss couldn't tell if she was annoyed or not. Shrugging a little he waved at her to get her attention, hoping she was someone who had seen the notice before turning back to Sery. "So now that I've told you the mission we need to pick the location we will be heading; Ascalon, Shiverpeaks, nearish Orr, or underground." Perhaps this wouldn't be too bad, maybe he could try to teach Sery to control her urges, and then maybe he could convince that Charr to put down the gun and become a scholar of Skritt........
