Kex
Kex listened to the Human Chris and Zahl argued some, Kex was definitely with Zahl on this one though. He continued to listen and react with head movements conveying his thoughts somewhat, while Tel was staying out of it so far as she was more interested in Mike at the moment.
"Fifteen seconds is long time, best laser drills go through on impact and only need you to cut hole quickly. So if you go with a good but not best drill, I would say seven seconds would be average time in the proper talons. We use best drill, go in guns a blazin'" Kex said taking a cowboy pose at the end as he had seen some westerns he liked.
"Tethers short and reinforced so no fall in the star seas, we usually go in with boarding cannon and BOOM! All work is done and we richer than before, lots of shinnies for everyone," Kex said before pulling a Sangheili charm from his pocket and handing it to Chris,"My personal best, we do good knife and sword work and our shooty is good too" he said with a grim look on his face.
Jiralhanae Chieftain Garatus
Garatus watched as the camp was made, soon a rough fence was up(still with some gaps of course) and tents were being erected for the night. Jiralhanae have a deep connection with nature and jump at the opportunity to spend time outdoors, being in a stuffy ship all the time was not ideal for them. Garatus gripped the earth with his toes and closed his eyes, he was taken back to a time long ago. He was younger now, back when his fur was copper colored and his face hadn't hardened yet.
He was sitting on the patio in his chair, his feet on the cool dirt as he watched his son play in the garden. He was drinking a light mead as he read his reports, his reptilian hound just a pup running around his ankles. It was spring and in the not so distant distance you could see young Jiralhanae courting under the fruit trees that were blooming, and young ones running with wooden hammers and axes reenacting the greatest battles of Jiralhanae history. Garatus's eyes opened, and now he was back on this damned planet alone and cold inside.
He looked to Cad, his only living brother, the brother he chose. He noticed Cad had removed his scarf... Garatus didn't think it would help him move on and reconcile, especially if his faith was to be renewed later. Garatus looked to Cad and simply said this.
"That's a perfectly good scarf, and if you toss it away I'll break your arms off, because when it is cold tonight you'll wish you had your trusty scarf still that was perfectly fine until you tossed it in the dirt and someone picked it up and used it to wipe their ass with" Garatus said with a stern look, he was perfectly serious about what would happen to the scarf too.
"Now if you're up to it, we could use some firewood or whatever in the hells will work from here. If you're not up to that you could always dice some food up for the stew we'll be eating later" Garatus said, pointing to either the open plain or the huge metal pot in the middle of the camp,"if you're read for it" Garatus finished, fully prepared to undo Cad's bindings if he was.
