Name: Lak 'il Ra’shi Viska'
Race: Sangheili
Age: 49 cycles
Height: 7' 9"
Weight: 610 lbs
Appearance: Lak is a sangheili of a different type. Baring ocean blue rather than the darker browns and violets of the homeworld sangheili. Though she has also grown rows of darker black scales making odd stripes down her arms torso, and legs. To also separate from the normal crew, her neck is shorter making her head at equal height with regular sangheili . She had tighter mandibles almost creating a solid wall of flesh.
Her body is thin, enough to see her lower cast of ribs, mostly from the malnutrition she suffered while under the inquisition. It is most prominent in her spine where it is easily visible. She wears a remodeled Ultra's combat harness, which has a respirator built in as to help the moonborn sanghieili with breathing. The helmet is cracked with a long cut running down the left eye.
Strengths: Tentative- Hailing from the long fused clan of Viskar, Lak is very slow in her way of doing things. Her methods infuriate others, but rarely fail to produce answers. Slow and steady lamenting her subjects in pain for longer then necessary.
Patient- due to her long fuse she is willing to wait out her targets. Long nights she has endured simply watching her query.
Zealous - After years of enduring the homeworld Sangheili's insults about being unfaithful to the great journey. Lak has become quiet a zealous follower of the path. Driving her to work within the Ministry of Inquisition.
Weaknesses: Lineage- Clans have always had effects on Sangheili. Whether it be blood feuds or trade partners, they also lead to being judged by other clans. Lak being born of Viskar is looked at different. Due to Viskar's lax views on the Covenant's religion, it is presumed that Lak be the same.
Ignorant - Lak has proven to very ignorant towards orders given by other Sangheili. Relying solely on the Ministry 's orders and pursuing her targets by her own means.
Secretive - Due to the nature of her job under the Ministry of Inquisition, she is very secretive. This places a target on her back. Some Sangheili fearing that she turn them over for the inquisition. Especially since she is already quiet enough.
Biography: Lak was a warrior by heart,, which didn't surprise the Viskar clan, and they trained her to become a warrior of great skill, but without the great journey. She however sought to be more like the homewolrd sangheili, and so snuck away to learn at the Sangheili war college. Sadly she didn''t know the disdain other clans had fro females, or the Viskar clan specifically, and so her years were harsh with no true companions. She however found faith in the journey, and continued to walk the path, even becoming one of the best fighters in her class. She would later be trained to work as an engineer, despite her protests to the leader. She graduated from the war college, and was sent to help in the conflict with the heretics. She was an engineer to assist in guarding a Yanme'e repair group. However she would sneak off constantly, and find herself in conflicts with other warriors,. With her training she was able to fend off the attackers, before they could get to those under her protection. but she saved one. Dragging it back with her. This caught the eye of a Inquisitor who had been sent to capture the same heretic. He stayed back watching as the female interrogated the soldier for information and was impressed with her skill, her patience, and zeal for purging the heretic of his sins.. He sent a message to his commander and was told to keep an eye on her.
Over the next few years, Zak would continue to impress the inquisitors until she was promoted to Major and that was when the ministry offered her a chance to join their ranks. Naturally the girl agreed, taking on the task of an inquisitor was all to simple. She was then placed into a special group under the commander she had already been serving. Hunting down a zealot who had turned form the arms of the journey, and to the heretics. Zak and a team of 4 other inquisitors captured him, but he nearly escaped, taking half the team's lives with him. Under the defense of the Viskar major however the remaining three were able to force him back until more help could arrive.
For years it continued the female becoming a valiant weapon to the inquisition, and being promoted. Sadly she became more of a poster of what one could be rather then actually participating in hunts. A way to sway new zealous followers of the great journey to join the dark twisted underbrush that was the inquisition. However once the humans had been discovered her skills would be called upon. With her new red energy sword at her hip she would go off to help stop the heretics from taking root again. Assassinating those who would turn from the light of the path. She recruited warriors of all ranks to aid her, and eventually had even brought a Jiralhanea into the inquisitor ranks to serve as her protector. She had won greater fame within the inquisition, even being called on by the minor prophets to be given orders directly. However during the great Schism, she was called on to put down the zealots she had once revered as godly warriors. She was torn between her faith and her honor, however with the help of her life companion she was able to escape the same fate as those who had stayed under the ideal of the ministry.
Life however slowed, and she grew weary of attempting to follow the path. Soon she befriended a human group and began hunting down certain humans , and other sangheili. That was until she was turned on by her friends and left the galaxy drifting away. Now her own homewolrd was filled with wanted posters that placed her as a target. So she retired form hunting and became a warrior for hire, her companion following in her footsteps.
NPCs:. Faction & Division: Covenant Empire, Ministry of Inquisition, Lance of godly sorrows.
Rank: Captain
Name: Mercelus
Race: Jiralhanea
Age: 28 cycles
Height: 7 Feet
Weight: 1050 lbs
Appearance: Mercelus is fairly short by Jiralhanea standards. His Raven black fur is sleek with oil, due to his oily rhino hide skin. His dark hazelnut eyes nearly blending into his darkened eyes. The only light being his clean white fangs.
His armor is a modified version of a Major combat harness. Having extra slots to attack the face mask that seals the helmet. This allows the wearer to hold air longer underwater and hides the identity of the inquisitor from his prisoners. Other then that it is the standard set.
Weapons: Brute shot, Mauler, battle axe, and specialized armor.
Biography: Mercelus was a Dosiac mongrel. He was born in a group of cannibals. As he grew up his family had crossed the line, attacking a patrol. The family was then hunted until only helps remained from the tribe. Adopted into the clan that had revoked his family's existence, he was raised within the clan, never knowing his real nature.
He became a hunter for his clan, moving on to leading Unggoy against heretics. After the defeat of a war chieftain, Mercelus, being the bright creature he was used the power vacuum to claim the title of Major. However a new chieftain quickly seized power and the usual earning of rank came back into order, but Mercelus was never demoted. After countless conflicts under his belt, he was elevated to the rank of Captain under his clans chieftain. Upon his elevation a coup began to form.
Eventually the chieftain he served was slain in his own hut. An elder upon finding his body blamed the Captain for once belonging to a group of cannibals. Mercelus was astonished that someone would say such things, but as it took hold more and more of his former clansmen agreed with the lies. Soon he was given to the covenant as a prisoner. He was to be transferred to a mining colony. While aboard he befriended a female Sangheili who had been accused of assaulting a Kaidon. They naturally found allies among each other. The ship fell under attack, and a heretic leader let loose the prisoners to join his cause. Sadly the former captain and his fellow Jiralhanea were not going to go easily. They fought the heretics taking what weaponry they could. They fought back to the Sangheili who had freed them, but with their numbers low they surrendered to a small group of Sangheili. Mercelus' friend was among them. Mercelus and the remaining Jiralhanea were then beaten and wounded.
They were to be examples should anyone else try and rebel. For the heretics however the plan would go backwards. Once Mercelus was marched forward to be executed, his friend Zak Viska'ai, betrayed the heretics. Between herself and two other Sangheili they dispensed with the guards with ease, capturing their leader. Mercelus was then released, but was taken back to his cell. However soon he was taken to the bridge where Zak and her compatriots awaited him. The female had found a fondness for the Jiralhanea, and had felt bad for betraying his trust. Mercelus was then offered a chance to join her small group under the Ministry of Inquisition. To root out those who would betray the covenant as his clansmen had done to him. He agreed and has since become a companion of the Sangheili Inquisitor despite the disdain given by the Prophets and her commander. Over the years, he is her only remaining companion, out of common friendship, and debts to be repaid.
